    Prayer, in the Age of Grace, is about thanksgiving to God in all circumstances. To be content with what you have and not to seek after things of the Earth.

    David, thank you for yet another thoughtful teaching, this one on prayer. My wife, Debbie, has suffered so much with physical ailments. Thankfully we are retired and I can help her every day and night, sometimes throughout the night, as much as she needs. She and I do make our requests known unto God with thankfulness, and we always say to each other that we are thankful this world is not our final destination. And we are thankful for you and your ministry. We listen to at least one message of yours every day. Sometimes several. Our goal is to watch them all starting from the beginning and work our way up to the present. Debbie and I also pray for you and your family and ministry. And for your studio audience to remain in line. 😄 Thanks again, brother!

    As a RN it’s so hard to see cancer ridden toddlers begging for help. God doesn’t answer those children many times so it’s hard to see adults whining about things that don’t compare to the pain of a dying child . We need to be grateful for the good God gives

    My family and I were in a desperate situation because of a very seriously ill hospitalised granddaughter,for three weeks we poured our hearts out to God Knowing He had it in His Hands and control,the fact we all prayed brought us all peace,more importantly it brought peace to my granddaughter in hospital knowing we were all praying for her.We now continue to thank God for her speedy recovery and for His Grace and compassion on us all.God is good All the time.Thank you brother David.

    Wow!!!! This is amazing. I needed to hear this. I have been stressed out so very much on so many situations. I'm on maternity leave, have to find a place because my household sold the place, have nowhere to go, only have so much finances to hold onto till get back to work on unpaid leave for several weeks, just delivered a baby which father's sister has to take because of certain circumstances. This message was definitely for me. It spoke to me about looking at things differently on carnal VS eternal and spiritual is far greater and to be thankful and let all my requests be made known to God and so much more

    I can see how Paul could get a big head from his revelations had God taken away the thorn.
    In this present day, because we don't have dominion over people, and we have to personally workout our own salvation; and because we have all spiritual blessing, is the reason why we shouldn't take the rejection of the gospel personally.
    Bro. Reid, I can't say enough about what your ministry has meant to my life. I've said it on a number of occasions, and I will say it again: You are a shining light in a world of darkness.
    I thank God for the blessings he has bestowed upon you, and I pray that those blessings continues to affect, you, your family and the members of Columbus Bible church--and the rest of the world.

    This has been one of my questions for some time now.
    I have a friend who believes he can heal people through prayer, and he believes that the promises made to Israel are for us today.
    I send him videos from Pastor Richard Jordan, on the promises made to Israel, and now I may send him this one on praying for the sick.
    I may be in danger of losing his friendship. 🥺

    It would seem wisdom: 1. Ask for fellowship in the prayer. More people with the same desire would seem to carry more weight/need. 2. Explain to the Lord why it is important to you and others (For their and yourself to increase faith and knowledge of the Lord.). 3. Not give up in the request. More frequency would show the burden/commitment to the need or request. As often issues are not instantaneously solved. 3. Quality of the prayer in asking with a well planned out approach. 4. Ask the Lord to pray with us or for your need also. We have the examples of the Lord praying to the Father for his and others needs. So we could humbly expect him to support a righteous prayer. THANK YOU David for you time and faith in Christ. AMEN.

      Prayer does not work like a slot machine. The Lord knows all things before you pray it. The Lord does not want people to pray in vain repetition.

    What about Mark 16 verses 17 through 19? One of the signs to follow those who believe; They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover!

    • @Believe_the_Bible
      @Believe_the_Bible Год назад

      That was Jesus talking to the 11 apostles who were about to go into the tribulation. But God postponed that when He saved Paul. No, Mk 16:17-18 does not apply to us today. There is no one today who could "lay hands on the sick and they shall recover".

    You know brother Reid I have been tring to stop stoking
    I went from the regular cig. To the flavored ones and it has help cut some but not fully, do you have any advise.thanks for all you.do.❤🙏🙏🙏🙏

      I tried a cigar when I was six or so and got sick to my stomach. So I decided to give up smoking. I suspect you have been smoking for a longer time. Not sure that I have any great advice other than to quit buying them (i.e. make no provision for the flesh - Rom 13:14). I recognize it is not an easy thing to do.

    • @robertcabrera3375
      @robertcabrera3375 Год назад +1

      Amen to that! Great start by not buying them! Then when the urge strikes think "i just need to resist for 5 min"! Consider what may have brought on the urge. Change it up and use it instead as a que for prayer instead. One moment at a time. If you fall don't execute your efforts. Don't give up giving up what has no value and whats more can hurt. Can a small daily vitamin be of hopeful benifit yet a daily pack have no impact? Stay strong and smell an ashtray if you need. In love.

    Does scripture give us any hint to what all spiritual blessings in heaven include?

    • @ColumbusBibleChurch
      @ColumbusBibleChurch  2 года назад +2

      It would seem to start with our new spiritual bodies (1Cor 15:44) and then include everything that follows.

    • @laserfalcon
      @laserfalcon 2 года назад +3

      @@ColumbusBibleChurch The fact that it says all spiritual blessings, there wouldn't be any blessings that you would still need or want. We are blessed with all of them

    Was the messenger of Satan....Alexander the coppersmith?

    • @ColumbusBibleChurch
      @ColumbusBibleChurch  2 года назад +1

      Doubtful. Paul mentions his thorn in 2Corinthians, which was written in Acts 20. There is no reason to think that Alexander was blaspheming at that point in time. 1Timothy is written much later.
