Here's the truth Israel as a nation had to be baptized in water according to mark 1616 they had to be baptized this was according to the gospel of the Kingdom but there were a few times where Jesus Christ forgave sin without water baptism because he is able to do this he has the authority from God to forgive them their sins there was a man who they brought in through the roof of a house and laid him before Christ Christ forgave him his sin as well as gave him the ability to walk again. But the gospel of the Kingdom which was going on during the time of Christ and after Christ for one year made it so Israel had to become a nation of priests now it was prophesied that Israel needed to come back to God in order for his Gospel of the Kingdom to be preached throughout all the world but after the one-year extension of Mercy had ended. The gospel of the Kingdom started to fade out as the gospel of the grace of God start to come in the middle wall of partition that separated Jews from Gentiles shadow and a new gospel was revealed to Saul of Tarsus you see the thief on the cross did not get forgiveness of his sin he was given remission of his sin remission means you can get it again it's like having cancer if you're in remission you can still get the cancer again if it shows up but you're just in remission. This is why in Romans 3 Paul says that the circumcision has to endure but the uncircumcision is saved through the faith of Jesus Christ so we're saved through the Faith of Christ they're saved by Keeping the Faith and enduring till the end according to prophecy so they as a nation can get the Forgiveness according to prophecy right now there is no such thing as that right now right now it's faith alone without any works there is no baptism required in the flesh because that was connected with prophecy but we are saved according to the revelation of the mystery. There's a lot of verses to go over but I'm pretty sure that should answer everyone's questions we are save today by faith back then there was a lot going on remember the New Testament didn't start until the death of the testator but the New Testament does not start the New Covenant the New Covenant doesn't start until after the tribulation of those days which is the time of Jacob's trouble where God will blot out Israel Sin but until then. Israel as a nation is without forgiveness but individual Jews can be saved through the gospel. Again Jesus had the authority to forgive sin this is evident when you study Matthew the thief on the cross believe Jesus was the son of God and by honoring Jesus Jesus had the authority to forgive him his sin that's why he would say go and sin no more well if they had Absolution from sin then they wouldn't need to not sin anymore. Because the body of Christ is made perfect through Jesus our sins are forgiven us the moment we believe we are Sanctified and seated together in Heavenly places in Christ. No Works required but Israel's punishment is them having to endure because of what they have done

In the old testament (Leviticus and Deuteronomy ).all the priests had to be ceremonially washed (water baptism) before they could perform their duties. Jesus as High Priest and king was ritually cleansed in the flesh as an example to Israel. When the kingdom does come, the reason water baptism was commanded for Israel, was because ALL Israel would become a kingdom of priests...every man, woman, and child would be a priest of God to minister to the rest of the world..Exodus 19:5-6

Matthew 3:15, Jesus answered John that it had to be fulfilled as a righteousness requirement . Basically, Jesus Christ performed all the physical acts for us, and once you believe in His name as the Lord and Savior in your heart, you connect with the sacrifice he made. It is through Him that we are saved and righteous. So as you clearly indicated, his baptism in water was done for you and I because he was sinless. The Holy Spirit is our baptism, it is our spiritual identification in Christ because He did it in advance for all who believe in Him. Bless You!

Brother David, I think you need not go all this far to explain why Paul did bapize in the inception. Acctually when he was arrested by Jesus on the road to Damascus, he was not filled with the the knowledge of the mystery. Far from it, he just went to Synagog and preached who Jesus was; the messiah. He did not know anything more than what other Jews would have known including the disciples. He was just preaching the gospel of the kingdom at that point. It was progressive thing and it took few years before Paul was given the full revelation of the mystery. He was in Arabia for that purpose. So simply he was not aware of the gospel of grace at that point.

Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 1 Corithians 1:12-17 Paul did baptize people in this verse and as he's writing to the Corinthian Church stating that they were not baptized in the name of Paul clearly shows that they were baptized in the name of Christ. There is no place in the NT that states the Church stopped baptizing. Matt 28:18-20 clearly states that the practice of baptism was to continue until the end of the world. Further, the evidence of early church history proves that they never stopped baptizing. Your interpretation of Eph 4 is classic eisegesis. Water Baptism is important and it must not be confused with the Baptism of The Holy Spirit. It is an essential tool for any believer who will contend with the world and ministry.
Similarly when you make an altar call and you have people coming up with various issues, cares and fears, these are devices that the enemy uses to steal the word of God being imparted and replace it with doubt and unbelief. In fact many people struggle with doubts, fears, the deception of riches and understanding God’s word. Baptism sets the tone spiritually and I believe that the new birth takes place then in the spiritual realm. If you are not Jewish and have no prior OT knowledge you need to be taught about the OT and the NT and you are considered to be a babe in Christ, physical water Baptism means Spiritual Holy Spirit birth of the new man of the Holy Spirit. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit comes with the laying of hands and is evident by its gifting. That which is born of the Flesh is a human that of the Holy Spirit is the anointing that identifies a believer with Christ and combats doubt, cares and fears. The scriptures says that we are given a Spirit of power and a sound mind, not one of fear. The question is how do we get that Spirit that is to be filled to the overflowing in the physical body of the believer. If you know for a fact that your Spirit has been reborn then you know without doubt that you are a child of God. How do you impart to the physical person a Spiritual new birth. The truth is you can’t only the Holy Spirit can, so when you are instructed to signify Christ Burial and resurrection into the lives of new believers via water Baptism, stop doubting God, that is a device the devil uses to draw new believers away from the body of Christ. The accuser will ask the new convert the question, “ How can you be so sure what you confessed is true, people second guess themselves all the time, so just picture the dilemma for the convert, especially if they are under occult type attacks. We have failed the minute we decided that a new convert should believe the way we believe, not withstanding the many years it took Christ to get us to that point. We now become puffed up and have the intestinal fortitude to say water Baptism isn’t necessary. Ministers tend to forget that Christ is in them and speaking through them, the question is how did he get there?

David: Water baptism was necessary for the time and intention it was for. Instead of taking a denomination view point of the subject, I encourage you to study it for yourself. See why people were baptized and which people were baptized. There are 14 baptisms in the bible. So don't use the word to mean the same thing every time you see it. If you think what you always thought you will believe what you always did. That's not growing in the Lord! We need to grow, learn and trust the word of God by rightly dividing it. Take no man's word for it, but study it for yourself. Baptism is definitely not for us the body of Christ, for it takes away for Christ work on the cross and the gospel given to Paul for us today. Read I Cor 1:17 notice the word "but" which means Paul gospel by which we are saved by today could not and does not include water baptism. Hope you can look at this with an open mind.
