I miss my german shepherds so veryyy much. We smuggled Toby back with us leaving Afghanistan. Almost got caught in the last leg of the journey. Toby was a essential member of our team, saving lives n was on par with our missions. RIP Toby, you were worth the risks associated with your journey. He got to enjoy his life as our family had member for 5 years. Everyone loved Toby, especially young children. Everywhere we went in down time, we'd always find Toby loving the affection from kids. Some how, Toby had the abilities to know threats far beyond our own. Yet, when the game went live he was ALL BUSINESS. So many dogs were left in Afghanistan n I absolutely hate the brass for their ignorance.

In so manyyy words, I told him that if our dog leaves so WILL he. I don't know if he saw my red eyes glowing brighter or what, but we had a clear understanding. You gotta do the right thing sometimes or some jerk off will end things their CO wants through fear. Guess he feared Toby's neck attack command or Toby n myself together. We all could have ended up in deep dodo. I explained how fortunate he was Not experiencing the outcome of the rat/ferret/weasel, tin bucket n wire n propane torch got results from experience. Just kidding there too, or was I? Too much time under the bridge. Anyway, too ole a paradog now. Nothing but memories, yet fortunately blessed being alive n walking even with a cane no less. Must have caught me at a weak moment, lookin around, nothing wet, good to Go. God Bless Jane,,,
I talked to my shepherd constantly for 13 years. She understood everything. We were very bonded and I took her everywhere with me. She passed away 2 months ago and I still feel that grief to my core.
I have a 7 year old German Shepherd I love him... and I think abt that all the time its like anticipatory grief. I remember when I was a kid…maybe 10 years old, our dog died and my parents were adamant that we weren’t going to get another one. I remember saying these exact words “What’s a home without a dog?” Within a week we got another one.

For whatever reason I felt like I was turning my back on my boy if I just replaced him after 11years together. Needed time to mourn I suppose. Turns out he sent me a new friend from the grave. About 8 months later a beautiful GSD showed up on the farm. Very skittish full of anxiety didn't even know how to eat from a bowl. I still thought someone may show up looking for him. Yet here we are 2+ years later the best of friends. Thank you Floyder's for the gift from beyond.
Maybe not everything, but science says they can understand 200-300 words of everyday human speech. Just to compare: The average human understands 20,000-30,000 words out of all words in their own language.
They would put their own life in danger to save their owner. They can be so loyal and loving. I have a Pekingese and schnauzer mix and she is the most stubbornness dog I've ever had. I should have named her hard-headed.😮
@@InDadequate No..."Buddy" was Mr. Mike's first German Shepherd that died late last year. He got "Pal" when "Buddy" was still around to be his and "Buddy's" Pal, while "Buddy" got to be Mr. Mike's and "Pal's" Best Bud...for a time at least.

There's people that say talking to a dog is dumb, but my dog is the only dog in the neighborhood that doesn't need leash when I take her for a walk, she's obedient and listens to commands

I have a beautiful six year old female German shepherd myself.. always knew she was smart but after I moved away for a couple years and recently returned, I got closer with her and started paying closer attention to her behaviour and ability to communicate as well as understand. I know for a fact this dog understands the vast majority of the things I say, and I have an overwhelming feeling in my spirit that if we truly knew everything dogs and other animals down to the insects truly understand, we’d be heart broken. All you need to do is just pay attention and you’ll see it. Every dog I’ve had has been smart but she is the first one whom I feel is at least as smart as a toddler! Such beautiful creations of God

Theres been proof that pets (not just dogs) can understand a lot more than weve given them credit for over the years. Dogs and cats are extremely intelligent and while they dont have the comprehension skills we do, they can still understand pretty basic stuff like this. I've had mini conversations with my grandma's dog (best dog ever), and you can tell they know what you mean, even if you're just praising them for being a good pup and taking care of your grandparents. If you have a cat its the same, you just have to know how to real their body language instead of just vocalizations. This dog is absolutely obsessed and tuned into his human, and that just shows what a good pet owner this guy is. This man is this dog's home. Pup could have nothing else and be happy. Pets are a blessing.
Dogs understand certain words if you say it enough for certain things like my dog will now spin when I say spin without swirling a treat in my hand and when I say squirrel he runs to the widow to go outside as he knows it’s the creature he likes to chase

Theres been proof that pets (not just dogs) can understand a lot more than weve given them credit for over the years. Dogs and cats are extremely intelligent and while they dont have the comprehension skills we do, they can still understand pretty basic stuff like this.
I've had mini conversations with my grandma's dog (best dog ever), and you can tell they know what you mean, even if you're just praising them for being a good pup and taking care of your grandparents. If you have a cat its the same, you just have to know how to real their body language instead of just vocalizations.
This dog is absolutely obsessed and tuned into his human, and that just shows what a good pet owner this guy is. This man is this dog's home. Pup could have nothing else and be happy. Pets are a blessing.

Dogs understand certain words if you say it enough for certain things like my dog will now spin when I say spin without swirling a treat in my hand and when I say squirrel he runs to the widow to go outside as he knows it’s the creature he likes to chase
