Getting a 2 1/2 in front and 1 1/2 in back with 285 G2 Grapplers tomorrow cant wait, your trucks awesome
Hello Mrddarko1982.
I hope you suspension install went well; I'm glad to hear other people are modifying their Tacomas.
Just came across your channel, definitely subscribing! Great quality videos and awesome content. Cant wait to get my 2018 Tacoma
Hello Moose.
Thank you for subscribing to the channel, more videos will be uploaded in the coming weeks. Good luck with your 2017 Tacoma, it was an exciting day when I saw my truck on the delivery truck. Let me know if you have any questions about any of the modifications. If you live in Washington and want a dealer to install products, I can arrange that as well.
Truck looks perfect just like that!! No BS and clean factory look! Only thing would be like you said, new springs with more travel, when money is there.
Hello Mate Boadway.
Yes I definitely suggest investing a good suspension once you have the money. If you drive on the road only then I suggest staying with the factory suspension and doing a leveling lift. Thank you for commenting, let me know if you have any other questions.
that spacer lift reduces up travel for your suspension, and a add a leaf may result in harsher ride. do it right the first time. Get a full suspension kit.
Hello Donnystyles.
I understand that the spacer limits up travel resulting in a stiffer ride, this is why I state that it's a street only suspension. It can be taken off road but what have the advantages of a full suspension, this is why I replaced my stock suspension with a Fox 2.5 DSC, Total Chaos Uppers and a Dakar Heavy Duty Leaf Pack.
I have a 2018 Tacoma its got a 12 inch lift on 44s. I live in Hawaii and the thing moves fast for a twin turbo V6 has 5.88 gears
Hello Varedz.
I was waiting for someone from Hawaii to comment. Yes, all the truck in Hawaii have massive lifts, that make this 3 inch lift look tiny. I'll be upgrading to 4.88 gears once I move to 35 inch tires. Any problems after regearing?
I want to see that!!! please make a video. does it mean with the tss system? does it still work right?
Looks good with an economical lift. Very good.
I just got the SCS f5's and some tall skinny tires for my Taco 16'
Hello Huckelberry.
This is definitely a budget leveling kit, roughly costing around $500 with installation. My current set up is for someone who drives street only and does not care about ride quality, or off road capability. In comparison to what I paid for my Fox 2.5 Coilovers Resi DSC front and rear, with a Dakar Leaf Pack, it extremely affordable.
The Stealth Series F5's are my second favorite wheel design. If I decide in the future to re-gear and go up to a 35 inch tires, I'll definitely get F5's for their offset. Your tall skinny tires will do great in the snow and you'll get better gas mileage as well.
Great video. Thanks for all the info. 1 question....my objective is just to fit a little bigger tire on my 3rd gen Tacoma with no off roading. Can I just put 2 in spacers on the front and call it a day? Why would I need the add a leaf in back. Thanks
Hello Mark Gore.
Add a spacer to the front coil over and call it good. The reason you add to the leaf pack in the rear is to level the truck height when comparing the front in the rear. In reality, you only need a spacer in the front to run bigger tires. Let me know if you have any other questions.
you forgot to mention the tires you have are load range E. they are heavier and tougher. they also have a deeper tread depth than the standard tire. i have almost the same setup and love it!
Hello Motaz1975.
This set up (Lift, Wheels, and Tires) makes the 3rd generation Tacoma look great. Thank you for mentioning the load range and heavier tires. I couldn't cover everything in the video, now I'm just waiting for my Fox 2.5 suspension to come in the mail. I'll be doing a video on that shortly after I install it.
look forward to it!
Drawing inspirations from this. I wish my local dealer here in WA will do this for me.
Hello HJ.
Where are you located? If you're located around the Bellevue Area, I can point you in the direction of someone who can help you at Michael's Toyota of Bellevue.
Stryker of Seattle that’s would be really appreciated. I live in Maple Valley. I got my Tacoma at Micheals Toyota Of Bellevue, but I have no idea they do upgrades too.
Hello HJ Dela.
Yes, Michael's Toyota of Bellevue has their own aftermarket department. Ask for Monroe and tell him that Dean sent you to get a lift and wheel upgrade. He'll be able to set you up with my exact set up or something better. Michael's Toyota has stealth series custom wheels in stock as well, check them out. Let me know if you can't get a hold of Monroe.
Stryker of Seattle this is helpful. Thanks for helping me. I’m glad I saw your video. I’ll drop by Micheals Toyota Of Bellevue one of this days or I’ll give them a call. I’m thinking of getting the same set up as yours or a old man emu and tires. plus I’m also interested in the arb summit steps. I’ll visit Monroe soon. Thanks again Dean.
Hello HJ Dela.
Spacer kit is good for one road usage and light offroading. If you're looking to upgrade your suspension to use on and off road, I suggest watching my other video. If I had my choice a few months ago, I wouldn't have lifted with a spacer and went right to the Fox suspension. This way I could have saved $600, and put it towards my new suspension. All and all, save up now if your gonna go with a more expensive suspension. If your only looking for on road suspension, then definitely go with the spacer kit.

Why would you suggest 17 in rims for towing? TRD Off Road trim comes with 16 in rims with no issues towing. Just curious...maybe I'm missing something.
Hello Jason.
Great question, I'll answer this in the simplest way possible and I will attach an article explaining it. Essentially when you change anything with a vehicle there will be positives and negatives, and things to consider. In the stock configuration (16 inch wheel and a 29 inch tire), your load factor of the tires remains as tested by the factory. When you put a 33 inch tire on a 16 inch wheels, you change the load factor and dimension of the tire in comparison to stock therefore giving it a different ratio than the factory. Basically, you want to maintain the wheel to tire ratio as close to stock as possible, meaning if you want a 33 inch tire you should have a 17 inch wheel. I did not care about this because I'm not towing my boat, or utility trailers.
www.trucktrend.com/how-to/towing/1407-understanding-tire-load-ratings/blog.autointhebox.com/how-does-tire-size-affect-towing.html
I have to reply... Yes you are correct in a way. It's the outside diameter of the TIRE that matters. Like a bike with a 10 speed and your shifting up and down. For instance a 285/75 r16 is pretty much the same circumference as a 285/70 r17 and we could go to a 325/60 r18 and again all in the same range as far as tall with the 325 just being a lot wider... All would tow pretty much the same and they are 3 different rim sizes... SO in summary pay attention to the diameter of the tire not the wheel. Yes given the same powertrain a 33" tire will give a better drive ratio than a 35" as far as towing is concerned... After that there is a lot that makes up the total equation.
Looks really good I'm thinking about the doing the same setup. How's the ride quality. ???
Hello Gilbert.
The ride quality is similar to factory as you are only adding a spacer on the factory suspension. It does ride rough, and it does ride soft. If your looking for a dramatic change in suspension set up, I would suggest saving till you can afford a Fox, King or Icon suspension. If you're just playing on driving on the street this would be a perfect suspension for you.
Question! Is the add-a-leaf in the spacer kit the one that you used for the rear or did you also buy one from the link you provided to toy-tec and used that instead of the one supplied in the kit? Sorry just need some clarification! I’m looking to do the same for my 18 taco.
Hello careuhdeenuh92 .
I used the dealer supplied add-a-leaf from ToyTec, buy from whoever has the cheapest price! You do not need to buy from the link I provided.
hmmm...this gives me hope . I have ome 888 coils in the front on my Tacoma and want to put 285's on. Nice truck buddy
Hello DirtRider.
You should be able to run a 285 tire with the OME 888 coils, I was looking on the forums and some said they had 3 inches of lift. If you rub, you can look into a 1/2 inch spacer or doing a cab mount chop. Make sure you remove the mud flap on the front because they usually cause the rubbing.
I just bought a sr5 2018 taco and I was thinking about a lift. But watching your video changed my mind. I will probably never go off road with mine. I really like your truck the way it seats with this setup. Now my question, if I do this leveling kit setup and same wheels and tires as yours, would i get any rubbing? How about the ride quality? Would it be less? Or no change at all? Thank you in advance and keep posting because your channel is one of the best that I’ve seen so far
Hello Amantya.
No rubbing if you do the same set up, and the ride quality is good. I liked the way my truck rode before I upgraded to the Fox suspension (see other videos). I'm selling my fox suspension to go back to my stock suspension (selling the truck in the near future). Let me know if you have any other questions.
I appreciate your answer. I already ordered my leveling kit :). Are you selling because of the lift you did? Just asking lol
Hello@@Bobby142-h20.
Sold my Fox suspension last night and now I'm running the leveling kit. The truck drives well with the leveling kit but I do miss the Fox suspension as it did not sway as much left to right. All and all, the Fox suspension was nice but I will not be doing any off roading in the near future so I'll stick with the leveling kit. The truck will also be easier to sell with a leveling kit versus with the Fox suspension. Let me know how the leveling kit works out, you won't be disappointed.
Hello :)
Just installed yesterday my leveling kit. 3” front 2” back. Fabtech. I went with 2” block in the back because I did t want to lose the smoothness in the ride. I paid $150 for the parts and $200 for the labor including alignment ( I take all of my semi trucks there for alignment thats why I got this deal 😁) . So far I love it, it drives same as before and that is all I was looking for. And it feels very high 🙏🏻. My 63 amg even on the comfort mode drives much more stiff than my tacoma now. Im still on the stock wheels so my next steep would be wheels and tires. On yours, with the specs you have does it rub? Do you use any spacers? Thank you in Advance for your answer :)
Hello Amantya.
Excellent, I'm glad to hear that you've had a positive experience with the leveling kit. I would not suggest spacers because you won't rub with a full 3 inches of lift. If you install spacers you'll have to do a cab mount chop which is another $300. Stick with a 285 tire and you won't rub at all. The only time you get a stiff ride in a tacoma is when you get heavy duty leaf packs, my OME leaf pack causes a really stiff ride. Check the description to find the wheel and tires sizes.
I know it's super old but I wanted to hear from someone personally that's run spacers. Do you have any issue with the upper control arm or ball joints hitting the spring? I read so many contradictory posts saying spacers are awful and others saying they are perfect but I can't find any long term reviews. I'm thinking either spacers front and rear or the eibach pro kit with a block/ add a leaf in the rear with 33's
Hello Tactical Pterodactyl Knives.
It depends on what you would like to do with your truck. If you want to run 33' on the street only, go spacers and add a leaf. If you are going to off road and want a better ride than factory, go with new springs and new UCAs. That's the short answer.
@@pentzwerks basically what I'm reading. In all honestly I'll probably rarely ever go off road lol. I'd like to eventually do some overlanding so I'm thinking something like the eibach pro truck kit with add a leaf in the rear.
Hello @@Tactical_Pterodactyl_Knives
I've had two suspensions on my truck. The first set up was with the spacers which I really liked. I wouldn't go with anything bigger than a 2" spacer. It road good, solid on log roads. I upgraded to a full fox suspension and had nothing but problems with it. Everyone loved the look of the foxs but for the price, it wasn't worth the $4500 I paid. Go Eibach and you'll be happy if you are not driving off road everyday. You can always upgrade the UCA later if you need more articulation in the suspension.
@@pentzwerks very true! Sorry to hear you had problems. Thanks for taking time to respond and for the solid feedback. Have a great day and God bless.
Hey man, super helpful video. I am buying a very similar setup and just wanted to clarify you didn’t need a wheels spacer to run 285s
Hello Dynamo Shark.
No wheel spacers need to run an all terrain 285 tire. If you are planning on putting on mud terrain or a more aggressive tire tread, you might have too. Stick to K02 or Falken tires.
@@pentzwerks that’s good to hear. I have Nitto ridge grapplers to put on in the same tire size so hopefully they don’t touch the control arm
@@pentzwerks just finished my build last week. Running 285/75 R16s and nitto ridge grapplers. No rubbing with my 3” lift!
@@dynamoshark540 what kind of rims? I just got the same setup and am looking for a new set of wheels!
@@nigelolmedo9930 I’m running method 704s. They have some cool features like bead grip technology. You should check them out. Mine are 16x8, but I’d recommend 17s. I’ve found that certain balancing wheel weights can rub on the brake caliper. I had to rebalance my wheels and use thinner weights to clear front calipers.
I'm a little stuck in between buying a full 4k suspension or just doing this to my stock 17 taco. It's my daily & maybe once in a blue moon would take it off-roading. At the same time it's almost a 40k truck and not tryna too mess anything up by going the cheaper route. I'm very new to this so I want to tread lightly but the itch of lifting it up is increasing day by day lol. Money isnt really a big issue for me (not saying I'm rich) I just work hard too get what I want. At the same time I like to be smart with my money. I'd probably never take this truck offroading, but dont want the truck causing me major issues over time either. I just wanna get your input into my situation.
Hello Nick G G.
If you're only going to drive it on the road and once or twice off road I would suggest going with the leveling kit. After installing my suspension, I've ran into a few problems that have cost me $5300.00 due to the fact I didn't have the dealer install it.
Leveling Kit: More reliable, low maintenance and the dealer will warranty it if installed by them. Cost me $600 out the door and didn't cause a single problem. No tire rubbing as well because I have a full 3 inches of lift. I would have stayed with this option if I could go back in time.
Fox Suspension: Expensive and only buy this if you're going to be off roading and utilizing it. This is an investment that is costly and when you go to sell the truck you will not get your money back. I kept all the boxes for my suspension if I decided to sell it. I only have 2.5 inches of lift with the Fox suspension (better ride quality, but not 3 inches of lift).
All in all, I was in your same position a few months ago. I purchased my truck, paid cash and wanted to only put the best of the best on it. Since I've driven it for the past 1.5 years, I would have been happy with the leveling kit. Go with the leveling kit unless you get a good deal on a suspension and have the dealer install it.
Let me know if you have any more questions, I'll be uploading a video about the fox suspension that will describe my experience in detail.
Hey Stryker, bought this kit and excited to have it installed. Quick question, I'm getting a 285/70/17 tire, with the same lift you have in this video and the tires you had here do you think I'll get any rubbing? Thanks, just thinking ahead and what I'll have to do incase it rubs anywhere.
Hello Matt.
No rubbing with this set up, I do rub with my Fox 2.5 as I only got 2.75 inches of lift and I did not correct for driver side lean. A 285 tire will fit with a 3 inch lift with no problems.
Stryker of Seattle phew, thanks!
Aloha, I was curious on your thoughts with trying to fit 285s on a 2/1 level? I’m throwing on scs br6’s 17x8.5 -10 offset. Also great review! Subscribed.
Hello Shadrach Gaming.
I would highly recommend at least a 2.5 inch in the front so you do not rub. Technically, if you have a sport or off road Tacoma it comes with 1 inch of lift so a 2 inch spacer will give you net 3 inches. Also, what tire are you going to be using? All terrain or Mud terrain, if you choose a K02 you should be fine.
@@pentzwerks I have a trd sport so hoping for 3in in front. I also am going With the BFG ko2! Thanks for the content
@@pentzwerks also thanks for the reply🤙🏽 mahalo!
Plan on doing this to my 2020 TRD Sport. Will I encounter any rubbing? I plan to mount a 275/75/17. I don’t do any off road I mainly use it for commuting.
Hello Bris.
You will experience zero rubbing if you use the parts listed in the description.
I am not looking to rock crawl. Could I go muddling, take trails in the snow, and have it be reliable?
Hello ibdustin15.
The leveling kit suspension that I had on my Tacoma was completely reliable and back by warranty from the dealer. If you're not looking to spend $5k of a Fox or King suspension simply stay with this set up. If I could go back I would have kept this suspension and not upgraded to my Fox suspension. Now the dealer has a talking point to not cover something under warranty aka the suspension, even if it's unrelated to the issue. I might remove my Fox suspension and go back to my leveling kit. Go with the level kit suspension and have the dealer install it so they warranty it. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hey man your video says 285/70/16 but the description says 285/75/16. Which one is it?
Hello Anthony Walker.
I apologize about the confusion, it's a Falken WildPeak A/T AW3 285-75-R16
Hey Stryker, I have 2018 trd off road 6' bed. I purchased some SR8 and Rdige Grappler 285/70/17.
I purchase Chaos UCA and 1.5 Icon rear leaft package already. I was thinking about going wth the fox 2.5, but after watching your video. I am a bit scared of all the issues.
Can you recommend another setup? that wont give me these issues?
I will rarely ever go off roading. I just want a smooth ride for commuting but want the lifted look. But I want a comfortable ride.
What would you recommend lifting for fit my new tires and rims?
1. If i got with a lift kit, can I stil upgrade my UCA. Since I purchase it already.
2. Can I still use my leaf? if I just go with my ICon progressive leaf packaage??
I can pay for a higher end suspension if it give a bigger ride on road.
I heard, I will need to get a CMC.
Any suggestion thanks!
Keep up with the videos.
Hello Taye N.
Excellent choice with the SR8 and Nitto Grapplers, I really wish I would have bought Nitto's for their size (34.5) and not 33 like most 285 tires. The Total Chaos Uppers will work with all aftermarket lifts, you bought the extended travel and not long travel correct? Is the Icon an add-a-leaf or complete leaf pack that will replace the OEM.
My problems were solely due to user installation error and not having the right adjustments. If you install any aftermarket shocks I would suggest removing the sway bar, I did not and that's why it came unhinged (aftermarket shocks / coil overs) allow for more travel than stock shocks and coil overs. Definitely get a CMC as you'll be able to benefit from the full travel of the suspension.
Other companies offer the same set up 2.5 (2.5 inch in diameter shocks / coil overs). Companies include Icon, King and Fox. Fox is a good company and there was nothing wrong with the product. I would have a shop do the install that has knowledge of the product. If you live in Washington I have a shop for you to go to otherwise, you're local dealer might be able to help.
If I were to do it all over again, I'd go with Camburg
King Shocks
sdhqoffroad.com/collections/king-shocks-toyota-tacoma-2-5-performance-series-shocks
Camburg Uppers
camburg.com/shop/suspension/camburg-toyota-tacoma-pre-4wd-05-17-performance-balljoint-upper-arm-kit/
If I were you, I'd go with King Shocks because I like the look and the way they mount in the front coil over. Fox is great as well as they're well know and they'll have all the replacement parts, and they rebuild them for you if you want them too.
Awesome truck man! You recommend a shop in western Washington for cab mount chop?
Hello Donard Ebana.
Get your CMC done by Mule Expeditions in Issaquah, they're number should be available on Google. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hey Stryker: I just want to confirm that if I install my 2" rough country spacers, I'm actually giving it a 3"lift? Where do I find that there is a stock 1" lift? I have a '16 TRD sport and looking to add all terrian tires. Can I go up to 275 and keep the stock 16" rims, which I think looks good?
Hello Josh.
Go with the suspension listed above (2 inch spacer in the front and an add-a-lead in the rear), you will experience no rubbing and have a full 3 inches of lift. My 285/75/16 tires did not rub at all with this suspension. The truck looks great with the lift and tires, plus Toyota will warranty the products if the dealer installs them.
Your trucks clean man! What’s the offset in those Ray 10d
Hello Donard Ebana.

I have a 2017 SR5 and I’m planning on going with bilstein 5100s stage 1 leveling kit. This should be good with 285/75/16?
Hello TheMister7
Yes you should be fine as long as the Bilstein coil overs are adjusted for 3” of lift in the front.

Hello @@dennisglenn2679

I wish u could personally help me lift my truck. Awesome video man. Much respect
So a 2 inch spacer will offer 3 inches of lift, not 2 inches? So will a 1.5 inch spacer give you 2.5 inches of lift?
Hello Wind Probe.
If you own a TRD Offroad / Sport, it comes with bilstein shocks that offer a + 1 over the factory height of the SR5's. If you add a 1.5 you'll have net 2.5 inches of lift.
I have a 2002 tacoma sr5 and have 275/55/20s on now. Did some plastic and minor metal trimming and it drives fine, but only rubs where I trimmed when I brake and turn the wheel to that same spot where I trimmed. Just a little rub, but wondering if the 1.5 inch revtech leveling kit will take care of the rubbing issue? I don't want to add any lift to the rear, so would 1.5 level it and clear the rubbing, or would I need to go with a 2 inch kit? Thanks!
The wheels are a positive 10 offset
I'm pretty sure that the sr5's an sr's don't come with a 1 inch lift wen you buy them......
Hello Maika Braun.
Yes the SR5 are not lifted; you are correct. Thank you for letting me know.
I have a 2019 sport 6 speed. I want to give it a small lift and tires to match. I use it to commute and also lots of weekend off-road trips. Anyone here lift a manual Tacoma? How is your gearing.
I got one 2016 offroad need help as well
INSTIGATOR ! Is yours a 6 speed?
Yeah
Is your knock really hard if you quickly push in the clutch when reved over 1000 rpms?
INSTIGATOR ! I don’t really understand the question. I haven’t done that.
I got a 2019 trd sport, manual transmission. I wanted to put slightly bigger tires on with a 3” lift. But I’m worried about the gearing. It’s a little high for my taste already. What do you guys recommend?
Hello Montana White.
Putting bigger tires on your Tacoma will lower the RPM in all stages of driving. The gearing will be fine if you think that your gearing is too high, the bigger tires will fix that for you. Since you drive a manual, you do not need to worry about what gear you're trucks in as you choose the gear. I like the way mine drives with bigger tires but I only had the stock tires on for 386 miles. If you were upgrading to a 315 tire or 35 inch, I would definitely suggest regearing 4.88. My suggest is to call and off road shop local to your area and ask about it. Do not regear to get better gas mileage, a lot of people do it because they're running big tires (not 285 ~33 inch tire). Let me know if you have any other questions for me.
Hey Stryker, did you need an alignment after you installed your lift and bigger tires? I'm getting mine done today. Thanks
Hello Matt.
Yes, definitely get an alignment after you do any modifications to your suspension. It's a good idea as well because the tech can make sure everything is install correctly, and align it so that you are not driving your truck misaligned and damaging your tread level on your tires.
Stryker of Seattle thank you for the quick reply. Glad I found out now because I wasn't thinking about this. Build almost done, thanks again for the many questions answered.
Hello Matt.
No problem, let me know how the truck rides in comparison to when you got it. I have a lot of people asking me what the differences, and I'm hoping you can help me out by telling me what you think.
Stryker of Seattle I def will, I actually talked to the guy from the company of your link and he said pretty much everything you told me and in your video, like for someone who is just trying to get bigger tires while maintaining a smooth street the Revtek was a great choice. This lift really does fit my setup for what I'm going for. Glad I found this video. I'll keep posted with pictures before and after if you like. Thanks!
You don't have to stay only on the street with the leveling kit mine does great
Hello Dbonejonez Ruffrufr.
I understand that a leveling kit can be taken off road and on road, I only mentioned to keep in on road because I do want someone thinking they can jump the truck with a leveling kit (you can but something might break, I do not want people breaking their trucks).
I have these same rims ! Just purchased them & I’m also installing 285/75/16 tires. Which I’ll need a lift but the off-road shop is telling me I’ll need to chop off the body regardless? You’re saying you don’t need one with this lift ?
Hello Good luck!
With this set up that I have in the video; I experience ZERO rubbing. The only time I rubbed was when I installed my Fox suspension. Have them adjust the camber to put the wheel more forward if you do rub.
The first link for the Revtec Spacers also has an add a leaf included in the kit. Will that add a leaf not work?
Hello Derick Hansen.
The add-a-leaf offered through the first link will work, I only added the second link so that someone could have the option to go with that one. First link will work.
Truck looks great going to throw a 2" spacer at the front of my 18 taco while leaving the rear stock. Any clue on what good size tire I'd be able to run while maintaining that agro "big tire" look?

Good luck with your build, the spacer will work great for lifting up the front so you can use bigger tires than stock. I have Toyo Open Country Tires on my GMC Duramax and they've been great for towing the boat and tracker. Let me know what you think about them once you put some miles on them.
Didn’t know it was leveled from the factory, it looked a little higher than my buddy’s canyon
Hello Tyler Malmsten.
The Sport and Off Road Tacoma come with Bilstein stocks that give it a 1" lift from factory. The dealerships warranties the spacer lift as you are still using your factory coil over. Tacomas do not come lifted from the factory; but the dealerships do warranty the RevTek spacer lifts if they install them.
Great vid! I just received my ray10 17", I want to install falken 285/70/17 with a level kit. All the shops are telling I am going rub hard and need a c.m.c? Do to the reason the wheels have a -10mm offset......Any suggestions? Thank you
Hello Cypher302.
Thank you for commenting and I'm happy to answer your questions. If you have a full 3 inch lift which you'll get through a leveling kit, then you should be fine. Slight rubbing will only occur when you flexed out over terrain or off roading, on the street you will NOT rub. I did not rub at with the leveling kit and with my new fox suspensions I rub (net 2.75 inch of lift in the front). If the shop does the alignment correct after installing the leveling kit you should not rub. If you live in Washington I have a dealership that can complete the work and warranty it. Let me know if you have any more questions. Do not do the CMC unless you rubbing all the time, or plan on off roading. Make sure you take off the front mud flaps so you'll get more clearance.
What about alignment, handling, and wear with the kit?
Hello Scott Taylor.
I had the spacer and add-a-leaf installed by the Toyota Dealership. No issues, no issues with handling and not wear from the kit. It's only a 2" spacers that sits on top of the factory shock. I've had nothing but problems with my $5K Fox suspensions. I actually removed it and put the stock shock and spacers back on. Plus it's warrantied by the dealership. If you do not off road your truck go with the space kit. It's cheaper, it's warrantied and it looks the same from 50 ft away. The fox suspension looked "cool" and functioned well, but it's simply not worth the money.
@@pentzwerks Thanks so much for getting back. I have a new Tacoma coming in Feb, and very much would like to add a little lift. I appreciate you sharing your experience.
Hello @@scottt7400
I would suggest having the dealership install the spacer kit so you can upgrade to 285 tires. It'll look exactly like what my tacoma looks like in the video. Parts are in the description of the video.

Hello@@SpencerAzevedo.
Install your lift and tires and see if you hear or notice the vibration before installing the drop kit. If you hear the noise install it, if you do not then do not install it. You'll also want to get a wheel alignment after you install your lift / tires.
Hey man! I just bought a Tacoma in Seattle. Noticed where you take your car to get this work done?

Hello @@SH-in1mh.
I've emailed you and removed your last post with your personal email.
Just curious does your engine have any noise to it like lifters diesel sounding? Others say they have it on theirs even new 2018 tacomas have the sound.
Hello Old Timer.
Before installing the exhaust, the 3.5L engine that the 3rd generation tacoma has is very noise compared to my old 2013 Toyota Tacoma 4.0L. It definitely does not sound like Dodge Cummings Diesel, but it sounds good for a 3.5L engine. I think if I put a Cold Air Intake in my truck, it would give the truck more horsepower and more sound from the engine bay. If I haven't answered your question fully, then please let me know.
@@pentzwerks ok I know others have complained about about the noise mostly idoling very few say they don't hear noise but majority say there is, let me ask you also I just bought a 2017 tacoma offroad trd of course it is not a 4x4 but does have the locking differential option do you think this feature could help out if I was ever to get stuck in a sand or mud pit or it will not get me out at all?
Hello Old Timer.
There is definitely a noise coming from the engine at idle and it's very loud, you can hear it in the cab. I do not hear it now that I have my MBRP exhaust on the truck. The rear locker will help you get out of mud and sand, and sometimes it's better than 4x4

Hey Stryker, I'm about to buy the Revtek 2 in spacer. I went to your link in the description but wanted to be sure this is correct. I just wanted to confirm the part # is 426A and if that spacer is all of what is in the picture shown on the website you provided? Thanks.
Hello Matt.
Will you be installing the kit or will your dealer be installing it? This is important because some dealers will not install customer supplied parts. If you're installing the parts / a private shop, then buy the kit in the link provided. This is a spacer kit for 2005 - 2018 Toyota Tacoma.
Stryker of Seattle Hey, thanks for the reply. I am having a local shop for the installs. Does this kit include the lift in the rear as well or will I have to get the kit talked about here and the add-a-leaf as well? Also in the link from Revtek, it says it is for Tacomas 2005-2016. Thanks just checking on all this before I go ahead with it.
Hello Matt.
The rear leaf is pictured and that will be your add-a-leaf in the rear for 1.5 inches of lift. 2005-2016 covers 2nd generation tacoma and 3rd generation tacoma.
Stryker of Seattle Great, so that first link has everything for the lift. Thanks for the help.
2017 trd sport, about to do 3 inch lift on front 2 in rear. Would that be a good setup for everyday driving? I’m also going with 285s
Hello 4leolopez.
Yes that set up will allow you to use 285 tires without rubbing and you'll be able to fit into every parking garage. Are you doing a Leveling kit or Aftermarket Suspension, either way it'll be good for everyday driving. The leveling kit will feel exactly like the stock suspension.
I just got a 2018 trd pro. How do I get my truck to look like that without messing with the drive and handling. Also how does a lift like this mess with the factory warranty?
Hello Rick.
Ask your local dealership or off-road shop to install this exact spacer kit above your Pro suspension and add a add-a-lead in the rear. Cost around $450 all together which is a 1/6 off the price I paid for my New Fox suspension. Putting a spacer kit on your truck does not void the factory warranty, have the dealership do it if you are worried about a warranty issue. Also, if it's done by your local dealer and if something goes wrong you can go directly to them to fix it. If you live in Washington State I can set you up with someone who can do the suspension modification.
Goes the add leaf spring give you a rougher ride
Hello The Failed Gamer Channel.
The add-a-leaf does not created a rougher ride. When you replace the entire leaf pack (over land leaf pack or heavy duty), that's when you'll get a harsher ride if you do not load the bed of the truck down.
Thank you for replying to my post another question will the tires fit my 2nd gen Tacoma or will there be rubbing
Hello @@thefailedgamerchannel5835
The tires will not fit on a stock height 2nd gen Tacoma, you will need to install the 3 inch leveling kit. If you install the leveling kit you should be fine, with no rubbing or issues.
Great video for me, I'm about to lift my '17 Tacoma and was researching the best way to lift my truck. Would a 17" wheel and 33" tire work and fit with this exact lift you have? Also, I don't plan on offroading my truck just a pavement ride. Like you said with this setup, this is a good way to lift your truck for pavement only but I was wondering how long will the parts last B4 they could start to wear if at all. Just want to see if these parts could and if at all start to compromise anything with the overall quality of ride? Thanks
Hello Matt.
To answer your question is short, yes a 17 inch wheel will fit with a 33 inch tire with this set up. I would have bought 17 inch wheel if they were available when I purchased this wheels. If you plan on staying on the paved with limited time on logging trails then this suspension will work perfectly. Parts will ware over time but the spacer kit should last the lifetime of the truck unless you break it offloading, and the add a leaf is put within your leaf pack so that should last as well. The ride quality is similar to stock, no significant change as your adding a spacer above the coil therefore getting the same compression.
Check out my new video which goes over my new suspension (compare this set up with the Fox suspension set up):
ruclips.net/video/7wAvkGugklU/видео.html
Stryker of Seattle Dude, you're the best I've come across for information on this and thank you so much for the quick reply as I am about to have work done on my truck. I did see your unboxing of your new lift/suspension gear and look forward to the review of the install. Thanks again!
Stryker of Seattle One more question, with the parts that will wear over time, is that the lift gear you listed in this video or will it be other things on the truck that will wear in result of installing these things on the truck youve shown here? I wouldn't have a problem re-buying the lift gear you explained in this video if that is in fact what you said is the things that will wear overtime. Thanks.
This lift should not ware anything on the truck as it's lifted less than 4 inches and your not upgrading the tire size bigger than your gear ratio. If you install this spacer kit, and add a leaf you should have no problems down the road unless "you" break something. This is why I dealerships are installing these suspension as they require no upkeep. My fox suspension on the other hand requires a lot of upkeep. More videos will be uploaded in the next few weeks that will address a lot of the questions you've asked.
Stryker of Seattle Great info, thanks man! Got a sub here and looking forward to your new fox suspension install.
Do you think 275 70 16 or 275 75 16 tire would fit on 2018 trd Tacoma sport without this lift?
Hello Free Thinker.
I would not suggest putting on larger tires without a lift; unless you get a CMC done to your truck. You might be able to get away with 265 tires; but I can guarantee the fitment.
Did you get any vibration after lifting your truck if yes what was it what did you do? Did you drop the front differential with a kit?
Hello Wackedout13.
Please comment with your year, model, trim package and type of lift. As for vibration, there has been no vibration from the spacer kit. If you have a vibration due to a lift you might have a bad alignment or loss component. As the diff question, I did not do anything. Only installed a sway bar relocation kid and a spacer for the drive shaft. Let me know if you have any other questions. As for right now I’d take it to the dealer, you might have a recall on your truck that causes vibration.
2018 Tacoma TRD OFF ROAD. i have icon coilovers 2.5 1'' block 5100's rear. i just had my alignment done again and the ride feels better but i still get some vibration at high speeds. i had my tires balance by the same place that did my alignment the first time which they didn't do a good job so maybe they didn't balance them right. i have a sway bar spacers too so i ruled that out. i don't have spacers for the drive shaft i was told by a shop that specializes in lifting trucks etc. i don't need with a 1" block in the rear is not lifted high enough to affect my drive line. what type of spacer did you use for the drive shaft?
Hello WackedOut13.
Do you have the Icon Coilovers 2.5 with reservoir or just shocks and coil? When you talk about high speeds, how fast in miles per hour do you mean? When I drive my truck about 75 mph, it start to feel a vibration in the truck and the passenger seat starts to shake. The Toyota Tacoma were designed to go over 70 mph (it's a truck, if you want to drive fast buy a car).
When installed a new lift, it's good idea to retighten all the bolts to their factory spec. This was if something comes loose you can address that immediately, did your installer do this? As for now, I believe it might be a wheel balancing issue. Did you upgrade to 285 tires or do you have stock wheels and tires?

The Toyota Tacoma and trucks in general are not designed to go over 70+ mph for long periods of time, except if you have a Ford Raptor. I'm glad you got to test out your suspension. Icon is a dependable brand and they're easier to maintain since you do not have reservoirs.
Did you have to install a transfer case drop at all for vibration ?

Did you have to regear you’re truck with that tire size?
Hello Rual Velasquez.
I did not re-gear the truck as you do not need too with 33" tires. If you're planning on going with 35" tires, I'd definitely re-gear.
So, you can’t off road with spacers?
Hello Jose Bellorin.
I do not recommend "heavy" off roading with spacers only because if you buy the cheap ones you'll break the spacer or crack it. I would recommend a shock replacement if you do heavy off-roading. Log roads and light off road is fine for spacer lifts.
Does your speedo still work with those size tires?
Hello MR_Hachi_Roku 86.
The difference between stock tires and 285's is about 5% due to the height of the 285 tire. It's not too noticeable but you can verify your speed with your iPhone or GPS. All and all, I drive with a radar detector so I do not really look at my speedometer much. On the ferry way I usually match my speed with the other traffic around me. For example if you're going 60 mph indicated on the speedometer, you'll be going 63 mph. Let me know if this has answered your question.
Do you feel a significant power loss on your Taco with the 285 tires?
Hello ROFLgator.
In my opinion, the 2016-2018 3rd Generation Tacoma with the 3.5L does not have much power in the stock configuration. The reason I bought a manual is because I thought the 3rd generation Tacoma was geared wrong (geared for better gas mileage, converting the 4.0L to a 3.5L), and felt under powered. You can do four modifications to counter the "loss in power" feeling:
1. Exhaust, do not matter the company as long as the diameter is bigger than an 1.5 inches. The MBRP exhaust that I've installed is a 3 inch exhaust.
2. Cold Air Intake, brands like K&N claim that you gain around 17+ horsepower from having their new CAI. One problem with this if install improperly, can cause an 02 sensor fault. Overall roughly $300 modification and increase average MPG.
3. Re-Gear, this is the most expensive thing to do as you are re gear both front and rear axle. This could cost up to $2000, but its necessary if you want 35 inch tires.
4. ReTune, like Subaru "Cobb Tuning" some manufactures are offered tuners for Tacomas. I do not know much about these but I heard they work.
If you have any other questions let me know.
Stryker of Seattle sounds good brotha. I think I'm going to stick with my 32" inch tires. I use my Taco to commute, so I need the MPG's lol
Hello ROFLgator.
I would suggest sticking with your 32 inch tires, and getting better gas mileage. For example, my friend owns the same truck in an automatic with a BP51 lift and 33 inch K02. Currently he gets 14mpg - 15 mpg which is terrible gas mileage. Once Toyota releases their Diesel Tacoma's I'll trade mine in.
Stryker of Seattle You think they'll release a diesel version for the 3rd gens? Will diesel Tacos even come to America?
I think the Hilux has a diesel format in other countries
Hello ROFLgator.
I meant the possibility of Toyota putting a diesel in the next generation of Tacoma, or bringing a Diesel motor to the United States in any of their models (Tacoma, 4Runner or Tundra).
Did you have to re-gear the truck?
Hello Jake.
I would only regear if you are planning to own the truck forever as it’s expensive, and you want to run a 35 inch tire. My truck acts fine with 33” tires as I drive a manual. The manual Tacoma’s are geared differently than the automatics. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Would I rub if I get a 17x8.5, 4.75 bs wheel, 0mm offset on 285/70/17 with 2in leveling kit?
Hello Calvin Tran.
If you have a 2" leveling kit on a 3rd generation Toyota Tacoma you will not rub with 285 tires. The only worry is the offset of the actual wheels, the best way too find out if you will rub is to do a test fitting. Obviously you do not want to buy a wheel just to test fit so it's best to ask who you are ordering from. Who makes a 0mm offset wheel? I'll try to point you in the right direction.
@@pentzwerks do you think with a 2in leveling kit, and stocks rims with 285 70 16 would rub on the truck?
Hello @@dans6887
You should not have an issue because the stock tires do not have a lot of negative offset.
If you get a level kit should you get upper control arms to
Hello Brenny627.
You do not need upper control arms with a leveling kit. The only time you would need upper control arms is if you bought an aftermarket suspension that was "extended travel." Meaning it's longer in length than the stock stock. My new suspension Fox 2.5 Extend Travel DSC suspension requires upper control arms due to the extend up and down movement of the upper control arm. Let me know if you have any other questions.
So, basically if I have the offroad stock suspensions I can do this very same leveling kit without having to touch my control arms?
Hello Luis.
Yes sir, all parts are linked in the bio. The suspension road perfectly when I had the leveling kit, if I could go back to the suspension and not have boughten my Fox suspension I would have done that. The fox suspension is over the top and for a weekend off-roader it's not a necessary for everyday driving.

I do not rub because I have a full 3 inch lift with all terrain tires. Some manufactures of 285 tires make them taller than other brands. For example a 285 Falken is shorter by 1/2 inch than a 285 KO2 tire. Also there is a difference between an all terrain tire and mud terrain tire. It all depends on what combination of lift and tires you have. If you off road, you will always rub due to the fact the hash terrain forces the tire upward into the wheel well. This is a short response, if you need me to go into more detail I can.
Is that a E rated tire or c rated ?
Hello Peter Nickname.
The tires are E Rated.

Cool I get my tires Thursday looks good
clean
Hello Conservative Personnel.
Thank for commenting, the build is turning out to be one of the cleanest in the area. Simple modifications made the truck look good.
love the looks, and only thing from lifting my truck at all is the needle bearing issue I read in the forums.
Does this spacer lift create that needle bearing problem? thanks!
Hello Cash Miller.
For the past 2 months since I removed my MBRP exhaust, I've noticed a grinding/rubbing noise from the driver side of the truck. It only happens every time I'm going about 30 mph and sometimes at 45 mph. I read the forums on the needle bearing issue, and I believe that I'm experiencing that issue now. I'll be bring my truck into the dealer this week to have it replaced under warranty.
I've had two lifts installed on my truck, a leveling kit and a Fox 2.5 DSC suspension. I believe the Fox 2.5 DSC suspension caused the problem as I had not experience any problems with the leveling kit.
If you install the lift, go ahead and replacing the bearing as it'll be cheaper to do it then; then wait after the lift.
Let me know if I've answered your question. When you modify any car you'll have a problems whether they been big or small.
Would any shop know how to adjust the shock 1 inch
Hello Mathew George.
Any shop that installs this leveling kit will know that they do not need to adjust the shock. There is no adjustability as the leveling kit is installed on top of the coil over. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Hey Man how is the ride on the road?
Hello Josh Wilson.
Ride quality is very similar to stock, a tiny bit stiffer but not notability different. The leveling kit limits the up travel of the suspension, so it does not absorb bumps as well as the suspension without the spacer kit. In all, if you're mainly driving on the street you won't notice any change. The only thing you will notice is the tire sound / wind going under the truck. If you've ever had a truck with bigger tires, the road noise is louder than if you kept the truck at stock height with stock tires. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Stryker Seattle thanks man!
hey man i know i am a little late for this video lol but i have a question. so i have a 2018 taco SR 2wd with a 2 inch spacer and a stock rear. i want to level out the stance meaning that i want the same height at front and rear. will this AAL help me get that?
Hello Jesus Rubio.
You can add a spacer block to the rear or do an AAL, I would suggest doing an AAL. This will level the truck at 3" all around. Let me know if you have any further questions.
@@pentzwerks what size block do you think is a good fit?
Hello @@jesusrubio1850
I did a block lift in the rear on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma, I would suggest a 1.5 inch or 2 inch spacer. Do not go any higher than 2 inches.
@@pentzwerks gotcha. thanks!
Why not to just keep the stock wheels?
Hello DJmunkamunk.
I like my stealth Ray10's more than the stock wheels. If I just wanted to upgrade the tires I would have kept the stock wheels. I sold my stock wheels and tires for $950 and bought my new wheel/tires for $1350.
Can I fit a 285/65r18 with -12 off set on a 3 inch leveling kit without rubbing?
Hello Hmoob Vaj
That is the set up shown in the video and I do not rub at all, even at full turn.
The Pentz Project so that means this set up is better then 275/70 then right? Because I have 275/70 right and it looks kind of funny. Lol
I’m thinking of putting at 285/65 since my rims is 18x9 -12 offset
Hello @@Zipper-n3o
The specs of my truck is a 16x8 -10 mm offset with a 285-75-R16 tire; and 3 inch lift. If you get those exact measurements you will not rub and everything will fit. If you decide to go with a wider wheel or more offset, I can not guarantee the fitment.
The Pentz Project thank you brother.
to get the offset what brand spacer did you use?
Hello Jeffrey.
I am not using any spacers nor have plans of using them. The offset you see in the video is the offset you get through having these wheels. Maybe in the future, I might get 2 sets of spacers, but for now I'm happy with the stance.
whats the offset for those wheels?@@pentzwerks
Hello ThunderHope.
Size: Stealth Series Custom Ray10's R16 -12mm offset

What are your fender heights?
Hello Zandr Brooks.
I believe the front fender height was 39" and the rear was 41" with the leveling kit. It changed once I installed the Fox suspension and rear leaf pack.
I need assistance😂 is there anywhere I can show you my truck and ask you questions?
Hello The Notorious.
Please list your questions here and I'll answer them. Are you looking to upgrade your truck or did something go wrong?
What’s the wheel specs? Offset and width
Hello Jose Neto.
Wheels are Stealth Series Custom Ray10's in 16x8 with a -12 off set. If you have a 3" lift with 285 tires, you will not rub on the inner fender line.

Hello @@FlyLowJoe
No problem, happy to help.
hey man your tires in the video say 285/75 r 16.. just thought i should point that out.
Hello Jordan Archer.
Yes I caught that problem after I had uploaded the video. If you look in the description of the video, you'll see a link to the correct size and 285/75/R16. Thank you for pointing that out.
Do you go off road with your suspension set up ? I heard a level is bad for that but I don’t like spending 3k for a lot
Kit*
Hello CMVD0812.
In my opinion and for the sake of safety, I would only use this set up on the street and well maintained logging roads. It's all dependent on what the "mission" is for your truck, if you plan on driving your truck 95% on street and 5% on log roads then this is a great option. If you plan on having a really nice suspension that you can use in all environments (street - offroad) look into getting a front shock (fox, icon, or king) and leave the stock shock in the rear. Personally, I would save for a new suspension if you plan on driving offload.
My experience: I paid for the spacer kit, and add-a-leaf and only used it on the street. Now those modifications will be pointless due to the fact I'm replacing the front shock, rear shock, leaf pack and upper control arm. The money I spent on the spacer and add-a-lead could of been spent on my Fox suspension ($600 with labor). Let me know if you have any other question.
My suggestion: Buying a new shock in the front ($700) go with a Bilstein and a rear add-a-leaf therefore your only spending around $1000 instead of $3000.

I'll update this comment later today with more detail.
Stryker of Seattle thank for the in-depth comment. I was considering what you did initially (not sure how much off-roading I will actually do) but, after reading this, I am now considering the 2nd way you mentioned. It definitely makes more sense to only spend the money once instead of trying to go cheap and end up spending more in the long run. My dilemma is I want to keep my 16” TRD Pro wheels and just get bigger tires, like you did with the leveling kit.
Hello Saverio.
I completely agree, with not spending money where it could be better spent on a really nice suspension. Save up and buy a Fox suspension, they're extremely durable and allows you to modify ride quality within minutes. In the next two weeks, I'll be posting an install video of my new suspension. If you don't know how much off roading you're going to do then just play it safe with the spacer kit. This way your getting bigger tires with a more affordable lift. There's nothing wrong with spacer lifts, I just would not suggest spending time on the back roads as your spacer might crack.
Option 1: Spacer Kit & Leaf Spring with Labor $600 plus tires
Option 2: Fox Suspension, Leaf Pack, UCA and ARB Parts $3600 without labor plus an alignment. I would suggest getting this suspension if you're going to be working on the truck yourself. I'll be installing the suspension myself so I won't have to pay for labor.

Stryker of Seattle awesome man, thanks for the information! I have done some more research and will most likely go with Fox or King.
I probably won’t do a ton of off-roading (yet), but I want good components that will have just as smooth of a ride (or better) than the stock suspension.
Do you need a diff drop for this?
Hello 702 Pyrotechnics.
You do not need a diff drop to do this lift; it's always a good idea but it's not needed. When I installed my Fox DSC race suspension I put in a diff drop kit; they only cost $12 so you can always install it anyways.
@@pentzwerks thanks for the reply. I have a 2018 trd offroad 4x4 and I want a 3" lift with bigger tires, Im going to do what you did! I still have the billstein shocks that come with the trd so I think it will handle pretty while offroad still, nothing crazy but light offroad should be fine I believe. Thanks for the video man!
Hello @@desertpyrotechics
Right now I have the same set up as it shows in the video; I haven't had a problem with it. I paid $600 for the add-a-leaf and front spacer; that includes installation as well.
@@pentzwerks thanks for the info man. Keep the Tacoma videos coming.
Hello @@desertpyrotechics
No problem; good luck with your build.
Why not 20 x 9 rims?
Hello Jason.
The largest rim size I would feel comfortable putting on my Tacoma is a 17 inch wheel and the largest tire size would be a 35 inch after regearing to 4.88 gears. I believe anything larger than a 17 inch wheel belongs on a full size truck or a Tacoma that is Hawaii (Hawaiian Tacoma owners put 20x9 wheels on their trucks). For practicality and reliability, I would stay with a wheel smaller than a 18 inch wheels.
Can this work on a 2011 toyo trd 4wd?
Hello Chez.
This can work on a 2011 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4WD, when you buy a spacer kit for your truck make sure it's for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma and that it's a 3 inch spacer. The add-a-leaf is universal to all leaf packs. The 2nd Generation Tacoma need a 3" spacer due to the fact that are not lifted 1 inch from the factory. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Stryker of Seattle thanks brother much appreciated.
Hello Chez.
No problem, good luck with your build. The Fox suspension (next video that will be uploaded) works with the 05-18 Tacoma suspension. I'll link it in the description of the video.
17 inch rims are no better or worse for towing than 16 inch. This is false Internet information. Also his tires are 285/75/16 not 285/70/16. My conclusion is that this guy knows nothing about what he is talking about.
Hello Earnest Trent.
If you saw in the video descriptions and in previous comments I corrected for the saying the wrong tire size. Yes the tires are a 285/75/16. Thank you for commenting.
Why would anyone use a leveling kit? Nothing but trouble.
Hello Cory.
You're wrong by saying that leveling kits are nothing but trouble. I can understand the statement if you said body lifts are trouble (adding a spacer between the frame and subframe) but leveling kits that I used gave me no trouble. I've seen hundreds of these spacer kits installed at my local dealer because:
1. They're the best option for someone who wants a lift but does not want to offroad
2. They're a 1/6 of the cost of my Fox suspensions
3. The dealer will warranty it as long as you do not abuse your truck.
4. If the spacer breaks then it can be replaced easily.
5. And you do not need to replace your upper control arms.
Did you have a bad experience with a leveling kit? Or did you buy a $3600 Fox / King suspension immediately after buying your truck?
Stryker of Seattle I went with 6112’s, but what does that have to do with spacers being a bad idea. If there so great why are you getting rid of them? I wasn’t calling anyone out just stating the truth “cheap junk”. And no, I didn’t have a bad experience because I was smart enough to know that wasn’t the way to go. You can’t change the geometry of one thing and think everything else is just gonna fall in line. My message is “ take your time, save your coins and when you have enough go get some nice equipment.
Hello Cory.
I removed my stock suspension because I wanted a high performance race suspension (Fox 2.5 DSC Coil overs, Fox 2.5 DSC Tundra Shocks, Dakar Heavy Duty Overland Leaf Pack and Total Chaos Upper Control Arms). If I was solely going to drive on pavement for the duration of my ownership of the truck I would have kept the spacer kit (aka leveling kit - 2 inches spacer on the top of the coil over and a add-a-leaf in the rear). I do agree with you on saving the fund for a more expensive suspension upgrade but for someone who is just driving on the street and does not care about ride quality, then the spacer aka leveling kit is a cheaper option.
Debating on Tacoma or Silverado 😩
Hello Fitness Nation.
Silverado 1500, 2500 or 3500? Tacoma is good as a small truck but you can not load it down like a full size and it can't tow. The Silverado will get better gas mileage than the tacoma if you plan on lifting it, you'll get 15.5 mpg - 17 mpg. Let me know what truck you decide on getting.
Same man
Stryker Seattle end it up with a Tacoma sport 6inch lift with 33s love it
Hello @@cowboysnation1594.
Good choice, you'll be happy with your tacoma as it'll last forever and retain it's value if you decide to sell it.
Stryker Seattle brooo I know I just stared working for Toyota, I was with Honda before.
Tacoma’s have a 75 % resale value in 3 years it’s crazy no other truck does that. The ride was a lot better than Silverado, silverado felt like I couldn’t move when driving. I feel like I made the ride choice. Thanks tho
Any affect on your mpg's?
Hello Gage.
2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad 6-Speed Manual, I average around 16-17 mpg in the city and 18-19 mpg on the highway. When I'm in a hurry to get somewhere it can drop to 14.5 - 15.5. The mpg is all dependent on how you drive your manual, I usually keep it in a higher gear. If you have an automatic, my buddy has the same truck and he averages around 16 mpg.
