Those rims look really nice. They go perfect with that gun metal gray metallic color of the truck, and you’re right a truck should have a little bit of a forward lean. Nice job.
Ha... Cape Coral Florida.... I saw the trash bins...Excellent... I like those wheels the best and I hate all the black ones all the new ones come with...

2022 Tacoma off road, 275/70R17 KO2’s. Factory levelling kit. Without driving hard, easily under 15L/100km. Smooth ride. Installed spidertrax 1.25” spacers yesterday. Rough ride, 16.2-17L/100km right off the hop (dont know high speed results yet). Going on a 2500km trip (5000 return), seriousely debating if the “cool factor” is worth the extra $ in gas and rougher ride, as well as wear & tear…
as a fellow taco owner to another nice set up man. I did a leveling kit wheels n tires on my 2020 taco and I love it. I did the trd wheels on bf Goodrich tires next mod im gonna do is get the trd skid plate 🙂
That looks good, thanks for sharing. I wish they made those wheels unpainted. I have a silver TRD Off Road Premium 4Runner coming and I would like that design in a brighter color. That grey looks great with your paint.
Good looking truck. I’m looking to do the same with my ‘21 trd sport. That’s the way that truck should come From the factory - especially at the price. Thanks
Nice truck i don’t have a taco yet but when i do im going for something very similar you your set up definitely removing the decal I didn’t realize it looks so much better without it 👍
Outstanding!!! Truck looks ten-fold better. I have a 2018 Inferno TRD Off Road and plan to update my wheels and tires at some point. No hurry per the wife 😀. I am more of an aesthetics person and love the look you now have. I too don’t like tires that stick out too far. Nothing wrong per se, just not my style. Sharp truck and great videos. Take care!
Fezz’s Tacoma thank you! I appreciate your comment. More to come! The mounted ratchet straps I put in the bed are amazing. Posting that video this weekend.
Thanks! That was originally the plan but when I had them off I wasn’t crazy about that look so that’s what I decided to chop them up. I figured if I screwed them up I would just leave them off.
Those wheels and tires look perfect on your truck, I want to get a set for my 07 prerunner. Good call on no spacers, I had a set on my last truck and it made the truck drive horribly - your truck looks way better without them. Sweet rig, you did it right - surprised you didn’t mention that badass trd pro grill when you were naming your upgrades
This was my first Tacoma, 2015 Trd Sport pre runner pyrite Micah was the color and I loved it. Got stuck in the mud at the lake and from there on I went with 4x4, but man I loved that truck so much.
Tristin Smith thanks! Agreed. I didn’t remove them but I cut them down. Check out the video. What don you think of the tapered look? ruclips.net/video/D4rarsIANTc/видео.html

MUCH better without the spacer. I've always hated the look of trucks with the wheels sticking way out, looks dumb to me. Also, a lot of people think all of the OEM wheels have the same offset, but the TRD wheels have a wider offset than the stock wheels, I think it's a difference of about 25mm, which probably is enough for the look you want. I have a 2020 Tacoma that I'll be doing a similar setup on and I plan to use the same wheels in matte black, but with no spacer. They should line up with the fender flare perfectly. Now that I see the gray TRD wheels on a magnetic gray truck, I might actually go that route instead of the matte black wheels, but I think it'd look great either way.
Truck looks great!! I have the same color on my TRD sport. Love the bull bars. Does it interfere with the front sensors? Thinking about adding one after seeing your truck. Beautiful!!!
So many like minded people out there! I have a 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport Premium on order from the factory and I am counting the days.......about 35 more....... What to buy, what to buy for mods?????
I was trying to compare how much your stock wheels stick out compared to the trd wheels with no spacers. Looks like the trd wheels stick out slightly more than the stock wheels. Looks good.
TheTacoMan yes. Slightly more is accurate. I’d say perfect without spacers. I think the wheel offset combined with the way the tire sidewall ends up because of the mounting bead at the rim makes the perfect alignment with the fender flare. Thanks for the comment!
These tires do not have a noticeable fuel increase. I also was worried about that but it gets pretty Close to what I did before. Thanks for the comment
Or you could remove the flaps. The flaps reduce clearance by A LOT and with them being bolted on hard plastic, if they do catch on something, you risk damaging the fender and where they're attached.
Great video, what brand of 2.25 spacer did you install? And in the rear, you mentioned first you added a leaf then a block. In the end, how much lift was with the add a leaf and block to continue w the rake look? Thank you for your informative video. JC
Check out my Tacoma playlist there is a video that actually shows a tape measure of the difference in height. I would say I did 1 inch in the front and 2 inches in the back.
You hit the nail on the head with your setup! I've been wanting to do this for some time now, just didn't know what size blocks/ spacers to get. How is the ride quality? close to stock?
I've got the 15 long bed magnetic gray Prerunner bone stock so far. Slowly want to upgrade to that look you have. Those wheels look great on the gray,, 17x8?? Thanks for the vid.
im glad u took off the spacers. spacers are bad, you re giving the earth leverage over your suspension. the axis of the wheel should be the center, by poking the wheel out, the axis is further out and bad for suspension geometry imo
I'm looking at the same wheels for my 2015 Tacoma. I've been doing some research though because they aren't the same width or offset from the stock wheels and there may be issues running the bigger tire at stock height. The Tacoma TRD Sport wheels are 17×7.5 with a +30mm offset. The 4Runner TRD Pro wheels are 17×7.0 with a +04mm offset. So, even without spacers, the wheels are already going to be 26mm (1") farther out than the Sport wheels. The rubbing is due to moving tire size 265/65R17 -> 265/70R17. It's a 13.25mm (½") taller sidewall. The negative from stock offset and lift helps negate that though. I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with no lift and the 265/70R17 tires. Seems Husky mud flaps might help, I guess they mount slimmer, or none at all. How does it all feel after driving on them for a while now?
Very good view... Sick tacoma bro.. love it. after 3 years are you still rocking the same leveling kit? do you like it.. what brand you went with? Im thinking on doing it on my Taco.
