Ok back when I first played DQ 8 I always wished she would have been a party member. Now she is. And she is AWESOME!
That accent is 👌, she sounds so British!

Me too! If the voice acting was in spanish (as the dialogue is already) I would guess they would sound in a spanish accent (as opposed o my country, Mexico)
Frostare she's actually got a strong cockney accent like all the bodybuilders and thugs in the whole DQ franchise.
The voice acting in this game is fantastic. When I first played it on the PS2 all those years ago, I initially hated the voice acting, but the more I played, the quicker I got used to accents I wasn't accustomed to, and the more I came to realize just how GOOD the voice acting actually was

Dragon Quest 8 has always been my favorite. I look forward to seeing how this addition plays into the story.
Excited for this one, but my personal favorite will always be Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies!!!

Dragon Quest IX is my favorite too! But the praise this game gets must mean it must be good at least, even if it doesn't become my #1.

The best dq of all: Great music, main characters are fun, Avesome history like the old days ( sages, exploring a vaste world, alternative ending), secoundary characters are fun too like the harp guy who revives the ship, marcello, dhoulmagus etc......... and a greaat etc etc. Can wait to revive this mighty adventure again
Wonder if I'll like this better than DQ9. Probably not since it's less my style but that doesn't mean it will not be a superb game.

One thing that bothers me is how late you get her in the story. Aside from that, glad this game is actually coming back, it's one of my favorites on the PS2

It's Square's decision and see when they saw that fans were sending the DQ, FF, and other devs/creators Fanmail/requests to bring Dragon Quest 7: FoTFP, and DQ8: JoTCK over to the West they responded all Nintendo did was assist in the funding/translation for Square. Although what this also did was give the 3DS more games to kinda keep it relevant and have content since it was the thing Nintendo has been mostly relying on since 2011. Cuz the Wii U wasn't doing em any favors xD.
+domdon950 Actually Dragon Quest belonged to Enix but I guess you're saying "Square" as short for "Square-Enix".

But I prefer stories about premade characters than about silent customizable protagonists.

What a great time to release a game. Right after Christmas :/.
Every time I get excited for this game I hear the soundtrack and I remember what it sounded like when I played on the ps2 and the spell is broken. Great game if you haven't played it, but I just know I wouldn't enjoy it as much as I remember.
do admit the rogue summon is cool. I was on the fence about Morrie (not doing all that class s work) given this was full price and I waited too late when they pulled from 30% platinum points discount, but this may be worth it.

already happened. DQ Heroes 2 has DQ 8 charcters in it. also, DQmonsters Battle Scanner but that one will never con to the US beause its a arcade game.
Morrie and Red, im talking about these 2 new characters that werent in the original. im more than sure they arent in Q Heroes 2 unless they were suddenly new DLC after i looked up the roster for that game.
ArcRay20 RED and Morrie were in DQ 8 PS2 just NOT playable but they were NPC's. I wanted to say DQ Heroes 2 has DQ 8 Char but NOT Red or Morrie.

Is it still possible to make the orchestral version of the BGM appliable as a DLC? ..please?
wont happen. there is Zero DLC in 3DS games, all content is added later like with megaman collection and in NOT IN GAME. or the other way in DQ8 3DS had unlockable weapons and items you could get from Lawson or 7-11 stores. to use in game but NEVER a Soundtrack.

Ridho Siregar the Switch is NOT replacing the 3DS, it will NOT play 3DS games as well. Nintendo will NOT port any 3DS games to the Switch.

Ridho Siregar has everything to do with Switch replacing 3DS. but Simply wont happen. DQ8 is a 3DS title now . and DQ XI is coming to the Switch and 3DS but its not Likely that Nintendo would go through the Expence of Recreating DQ 8 on the Switch and DQ 9 Remaster for that Matter.

Glad I reserved a couple of this game. Looks like Red will be an excellent addition to the party and could be as good or better then Jessica. Also glad this will not just be a straight rerelease of the game that it will have new story elements and features.

I thought DQ 8 3DS had in game DLC in the form of free items and weapons, like a candy cane weapon for yangus , where did they go ? 7=11 and Lawson, and Yodobashi camera , offered the DLC items.

This game doesn't look bad at all.
And from what I've heard, it doesn't play bad either! It is among the best jRPGs of all time in many lists. We'll see, we'll see... =)
