Doing T5 conversion on any foxbody is really straight forward whether it's a factory V8 or 4 banger so dont get overwhelmed. No aftermarket parts required unless you upgrade the clutch quadrant which I strongly recommend over the factory plastic crap Ford used

@@BREW2LFOXBODY I want to do this with my 2.3 liter but the crossmember in mine is different than the aod. My transmission is the a4ld and im not sure how many times I had this out of this car. I was able to uninstall it and install it pretty easy the last time around. For now im just done messing around with this anymore. Since I want to redo the front seats and most of the interior I may as well go all the way.

My car is a junk yard special...everything is used..also cross fit..some car parts some truck parts...1 chevy part..could not find a washer bottle..old body kit that dont fit...but it will and I will still be able to keep it as a 4 eye.

I did it last spring. I opted for all new, LMR had a fantastic 1 stop shopping package. The only part I had to source was the pedal assembly which was easy to find and I paid like $25 for it. The absolute worst part was the peal assembly hahaha.
How much was the kit? Any issues?
@@GameOver321 right around $3200, came with absolutely everything necessary except the clutch pedal assembly. All quality parts.
I want to do this in a 91 XR7, hope to source all the parts soon!

I have a JRX-PRO that I converted to a street truck with low profiles. I had to make the front axle to hold truck tires 😁 its caught air riding a rolling Wheelie.. that's how you started into Mustangs

Worth every penny. Auto foxbody Mustangs tended to be owned by women and older people. So the cars are in way better shape. Have lower miles and are cheaper. I paid 11k for a LX 5.0 convertible with 25k miles garages since new two owners. I’m not drag racing you can keep your 25 grand notch.

I jumped in a truck hit switch fired right up. Grabbed the auto trans shifter on column went hit reverse and WHAM I was in the wall of the shop. Had 4spd swap in it. Cost me 300 in parts to fix customer's vehicle. I was a little upset.

Hello @BREW2L! Question, when cutting the transmission tunnel, do I need the transmission tunnel hump kit from LMR? I feel that I don’t need being that my cover already has a shifter boot cover from a 5 spd Notch. Thanks in advance 💪🏽
That speedo cable is dumb, that was one of our biggest problems.

My car is a 347 stroker 4r70w with 28oz external balance flexplate . 3 questions
1) So when im doing the swap from auto to t5 i would need to buy a 28oz ex balance flywheel for the clutch ??
2) And my flexplate is 164 tooth but when looking up for a new flywheel they are 157 tooth is that ok
3) when looking on summits site i see they have a 10in diameter flywheel and 13.2in diameter flywheel now Do I purchase based off of the size clutch that I would go with

Did u change the computer ?
What about the ECM? According to Neomustangs, you need to change the computer or you will probably have some idle or drivability issues. Have you experienced anything like that?
You do not need to change your computer, the A9P from the the car will work just fine with the 5 speed. The A9L won’t work with the auto though.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I don't think the Megasquirt either lol...I'm trying to go the other way, Tremec to AOD or possibly a new 6 speed F150 Auto lol...
Soon I’ll be doing the swap. Installing a Tremec 3550. Do i use the same pilot bearing as if i was installing a T5? Anything you can think that i should keep in mind installing a tremec 3550?
The pilot bearing should be the same as far as I know. Nothing out of the ordinary I can think of 👍

Installed a3550 in mine years ago.had to modify the cross member like he said to make it fit. Its considerably larger but fits fine

I hear all sorts of stuff on ECU swap for a 5 speed. Idle issues etc. Didnt make any sense to me but thoughts ?
Never had an issue using the stock A9P with the 5speed personally
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I always thought that did not make any sense... but never actually did it.
In my experience it typically doesn’t matter. Just gotta make sure your o2 harness is pinned out right
Can I use my aod computer (a9p) when swapping over to a t5 or will I have to swap to a a9l computer as well?
A9P will work just fine 👌

Ok so the swap has already been done but I’m putting a bbk clutch cable kit in and I can’t get the piece that actually sits over the quadrant to come off because there is like a frame piece in the way so it won’t slide off

@@BREW2LFOXBODY lol, swapped my pedal assembly when I did my 5 lug conversion- had column out at the time... cobra brake booster is more of a pain than the pedal box and the heater core !

Yes easy swap getting under the dash sucks worse when your a fat guy haha but not impossible
