Trying to think of a single thing I haven’t replaced listed in this video haha
That’s part of the reason we all love you brew2l you never afraid to talk about the things that makes these look bad when for us is normal maintenance on the beautiful rides! 👍love ya brother!!!!!
Here's a common tip that I think should be spoken of. NEVER jack our cars up from the tack/pinch welds lol I have seen so many cars with the front fenders poking out, and that's the cause. When ever mine would go to our shop I always jacked the car up because I knew. One time It had a nail in the tire and I pulled it in the back, One of our tire techs jacked it up by the weld. Before I could yell NO he already pumped. Just because he didn't know. He's jacked many newer cars on the same point with no issues. So please ..... DO NOT jack these cars by the pinch welds.
I bought my 1986 new and pretty much only used it for racing from 1986 thru 2003 and rotated the tires after every race and only used the the pinch welds at the points that the owners manual said to use. Never had any problems and the car is straight as from new. So not a problem if jacked up at the proper points on the pinch rails. I even now use my Quick Jack lift on the pinch welds.
Legit comment on that ignition switch. Should have a spare in the parts bin for when it eventually fails
When I replaced the carpet 5 years ago, I replaced all the relays.
Awesome video dude!!
Love when you do these brother! Learn things from you all the time man! 💪
nice video great info I love how you go in details on issues it really helps out.
Pro tips are awesome thank u
Good stuff as always man!
Great information for new forbody owners. Repaired most of the things you mentioned on the video. Wish I would have had someone tell me about it 15 years ago.
I feel like a Foxbody Pro now I got a small gangster lean lol. Your videos are always fun.
More tip vids please. I started writing a troubleshooting sheet to hang in my garage based on this vid.
So all this time I thought I was all gansta and looking cool the whole time my seat was broken ha ha good stuff brew2l as always..
Good Informative Video!!
Damn thank you for the ECC Relay info. I have been pulling my hair out on a 85 McClaren Conv that the fuel pump stopped working. Replaced Fuel Pump, Pump Relay and nothing. Was going to tear up the DS carpet next to see if I had a short coming from the relay. At least now I have a easier thing to check. Thanks for the new possible option
Great video brother
Foxbodies 4 Life! I have had every single one of these issues, but I love em. Good stuff man!🤙
Right on point ! I love your videos. I had a zip tied ignition switch last ten years, ive welded probably a dozen drivers seat brackets and a hard wired fuel pump inertia switch wont fail .
Nice video brother!!
Great stuff, especially with the a9L/a9P information.I heard the exact same thing years ago through my Ford mechanic 👍
Great video. Thank you.
Thanks for making this video I plan on getting one soon👍
Yes sir! 🙏
Appreciate the tips the more I know the better good video
Fox definitely looks teal in the shop. Looks really good with those new wheels.👍
Alwyz alwyz love tha wisdom!!! Still lil green when comes to fxbdys..love tha info!!
🙏
Gangster lean no doubt!! Having issues with that as we speak. Gonna take care of it this weekend. Great video 👍🏼
I ran an A9L in with an auto for 10+ years without any issues
Great video BREW2L!! Pretty funny I looked at a 93' 5.0 5 speed today with my grandpa and it had the gangsta lean. The worst part is that we went and it wouldn't even start. It started and ran for like a minute then just wouldn't turn over.
Possible pip sensor that happened to me I replaced so much shit before I figured it out it's hard being a youngsta in the fox game but thank God for the internet 🙏🤣🤣🤣
There are a lot more. Hope you cover them all
Nice video 👍
Late squad here! Great tips. My understanding is that if you get a custom tune you can use an A9L in an automatic but you also have to run the correct automatic harnesses, but I could be wrong. Great video Mr. BREW2L
Thanks brother! I’m sure a custom tune would work with the automatic. But I’m not sure honestly.
Nope, your right on the money 👍
Let's get it!
I had a 89 Carolina Ford dealers special edition with a auto transmission, I got rear-ended at the top of my road totaling the car and the trunk fuel switch was tripped. Still drove it home. Luckily my grandpa also had another 89 CFD special edition mustang and it's a 5 speed. I'll be buying it here soon 👍
Leech motor sports did a super good video comparing the exact differences in the L and P computers. Also, house of dula just did new ignition switches in both of his foxes. His ‘86 had the zip tie mod. 😅
Hi bro thanks for the tip , to roll the quarter panel fender , work , real good👍🇵🇷
One thing I just ran into that I don't see on other videos is to check the condition and replace your outer dew wipes on the doors. I started noticing scratches on my glass and when I went to remove the old ones, the inside of the door was so corroded, there was strips of metal peeling off the door and rubbing on the glass. Had to drill completely new rivet holes too because the old holes were completely corroded.
Gangsta lean haha! When I bought my Fox it had the loose steering wheel and gangsta lean, and a seatbelt that wouldn't clip. Shotty paint, broken windshield, expired tabs, supporting myself with a wobbly wheel and holding the seatbelt in... was a nervous drive back home!
I ran a A9L in my ‘90 AOD car for a few months while I was in search of a good A9P. Car didn’t have any problems when I started it up it’d idle up to 2000 and immediately go back to 850. Then driving the car was different it’d shift at whatever rpm you let your foot of the gas at lol.
100% on the ignition switches. currently doing an AOD to t5 swap and my ignition switch exploded when I pulled the column out. Thankfully had another one laying around from a parts car!
Mine was a little melted.
The different hook locations effective change cable length. Leverage will only change if quadrand is bigger or smaller. Distance from pivot to cable groove.
Man as a owner of a 85 GT and Have owned it since it was new I really like your outlook on the foxbody and what you like. Just wanted say I've watched other videos of yours and like what you have to say about the foxbodys and being an owner of these COOL cars. I'm in the northwest part of Georgia and wanted to know if you lived close to that area. That said I'll be checking out more of your videos. Thanks for what you're doing. TG
Someone should make a vid series like that but for the 4eye :D
I wish I came across t
Vids like this when I first bought my fox.
Regarding the ignition switch, when they fall apart they sometimes create a situation where the car will start but once you let go of the key the car shuts off. Instead of zip ties Iwill take a small hammer and tap the metal tabs in the corners to bend them back in place to hold it together.
Great tips! Love the garage. What state are you in? I wish I could do what you have but I’m in Minnesota.
it's been a long time, about 35 yrs, but if I remember right my '79 had a metal quadrant
EEC relay left me stranded one time, when i took it off it was all rusty and corroded under the cap
My pro tip. Only buy maximum motorsports clutch cables. I went through at least 5 of them before I bought a MM no fun driving and your clutch cable pops
The number one thing nobody tells is where to get a nice foxbody that you don't have to refinance your house to purchase. I did send you a message on IG with my info though.
Sorry I rarely check Instagram.. but I’ll look today 👌
@@BREW2LFOXBODY Lol....thank you, sir. I'm sure you get 100 of the same kind of messages every week.
Nice clone really nice cheers
Do a 5.0 sn95 build ..
Thatd be dope
Kinda got my hands full ATM... lol maybe later on though. 🤔
I got a perfect SN95 GTS for you to do, lol
Really cool tips do fix cars i need a hang with my
You need to run over to 411 Fox get a hold of him and get you one of those brackets to put Apple car play in the Calypso or the Retro that would really update and clean the inside of that car up that's just my opinion but I love your foxbodys there beautiful
I had the seat issue in my 93. Had both tabs on the left side break. When I would turn, I would end up in the passenger seat. I put a seat track from a 98 in it.
Hoping to buy a 1992 soon!
Lol, in 1994 i changed my fuel pump in my 90 GT with no Problems!😂🤣😂. I was 20yrs old, i wish i though about that then!🍻💯.. Dang lol
I have snapped every steeda clutch cable I ever owned. only one that holds up is the mm one but you need the mm quadrant and adjuster for it to work. also cant use a aftermarket quadrant with out firewall adjuster. I had problems trying to piece things together like (sve quadrant and steeda cable) was trying to get the best deal .dosen't work just use Maximum motorsports kit if your clutch feels like crap
FYI - There was a mandatory recall on Ford ignition switches!
Have you heard of that lowering clutch pedal kit. I bought it I’m not sure if I should put it in or not
Is there a new BREW2L LMR code out?
First time watching your video. You are awesome. I feel like I’m shootings to shit at a Foxbody enthusiast friend of mine, that I don’t have 😂
House Of Dula just did an ignition switch video on his channel if anyone wants to check it out.
You are an expert sir question , Does the DA model ECM in 88s not matter because it's not mass air?. Got mine in 95 from a scrap yard fast forward 25 years later the ECM went bad replacing it I ordered the same model that was in it. To find out it's for the T5. It runs great lol. And the zip tie band aid has worked great for me for the last 15 years 😂
Surprisingly I don't have the G lean on my 89.
Do you have a video on aod cabke adjustment ? My bushing went bad. I replaced it with the metal one . Now it wont shift properly.
I've had to deal with very issue you mentioned, hahaha
Would it have something to do with having to have mass air before you put a cam in heads on cuz I'd be interested to know that
What’s up with that Holley intake on the self?
Have been asking the same question now for months no response do you have to have a mass air to put heads and came on My 88 did not come with mass air
Hey man my trunk won’t open, i don’t have a key and button won’t work. Checked the fuse but it’s not that. Wondering if you had any solutions
I missed pro tips 1
My 86 keep running out of fuel on the big end. Driving me crazy.
The S shape line. Attached to the fuel pump could be cracked
Yo bro I'm having a big problem with mine I see one of your videos with with the vacuum leaks I changed my O2 sensors and it started messing up it started being real sluggish and skipping like you said on one of your videos do you think it is a vacuum leak
It could definitely be a vacuum leak. I’d check for that first
What color is that hatch
Maybe stupid question I got a aod it’s my daily but the gas pedal is pretty loose I’m thinking on replacing the throttle cable but I was wondering what els can I upgrade? Can I do a quadrant upgrade ?
Quadrants are strictly a 5 speed(clutch pedal) item. I'm not familiar with gas pedal issues on foxes but look at the pedal pivot points under your dash. Bad or missing bushings may be your problem. Good luck.
Well.....I'm going to go get me a fat stack of ribs...here I thought I was eating to much....its just my seat...not me..
😂😂👌
I have gangster lean lol
We used to snag that green relay under the seat when people left their car unlocked lol...
What about cruise control? Mine doesn’t work. Any common issues there
Manual tranny? Check clutch switch. Does your horn work or not? That might mean a clock spring problem.
@@dodgeplow yup 5speed horn works all fuses are good
@@jas3118325 and your clutch switch?
Mine cut off at a red light after driving a couple hours and wouldn't start back up until I let it sit for a while. Does that sound like the eec relay or something else?
Sounds like a coil or Tfs module
@@BREW2LFOXBODY 10-4 I considered that but it was a toss up because it has newer looking msd coil and distributor.
@@nickpeacock691 even more reason to check. OEM/Motorcraft for these parts. Might also be pip module in distributor
@@georgeklass2771 yea I've been weary of msd for a while. I plan on going back to motorcraft parts on it real soon.
Don't go to grab your wallet from your back pocket while sitting in a fox seat. Thats how they break.
Andrew’s girlfriend is back. Lol 😂
He needs to get her under control!!
So I have the chance to buy a 2000 up mustang that’s a v6 can I use everything off it to 5 lug swap a 89 fox?
Should be but check to see if the calipers are smaller than the GTs
I have a 1988 ford mustang lx. My computer isnt working . I have an 8lf computer. Which computer do i need or which one can i use in order to work? . Please help.
2:32 I like that😍💋 💝💖❤️
Andrew.. plz check get your girl in check! She always over here trying to hook up with the subs... 😂
