Fleetwood Mac - Gold Dust Woman

  • Rock on, gold dust woman
Take your silver spoon, dig your grave
    Heartless challenge
Pick your path and I'll pray
    Wake up in the mornin'
See your sunrise, loves go down
    Lousy lovers pick their prey
But they never cry out loud, cry out
Ooh, did she make you cry, make you break down
    Shatter your illusions of love?
And is it over now, do you know how?
Pick up the pieces and go home
    Rock on ancient queen
Follow those who pale in your shadow
    Rulers make bad lovers
You better put your kingdom up for sale, up for sale
Ooh, did she make you cry, make you break down
    Shatter your illusions of love?
And is it over now, do you know how?
Pickup the pieces and go home
Well did she make you cry, make you break down
    Shatter your illusions of love?
And now tell me, is it over now, do you know how?
Pickup the pieces and go home, go home, go home
Hey, shadow of woman, black widow
Hey, shadow of woman, dark woman
    Hmm, pale shadow of woman
    Hmm, black widow
Pale shadow whose dark eyes glow
    Dark woman

I had the opportunity to take my daughter to see Stevie 10/1/23 at MSG where she first introduced Stevie Barbie. Yes we dressed up. A lot of people did! Lots of moms and daughters. My heart was sooo full to share this with not only my daughter, but with total, beautiful strangers. My daughter (25) was getting anxious about not hearing Landslide. Stevie saved it for last. My baby girl wrapped me in her arms and mine around her and we sang along, with EVERYONE there. It was magical. ❤

I've stopped looking for that disk. I think it was still in the cd player of her car when she traded in the car. Oh well, I have to replace that. 😂

I so hope I have this opportunity with my daughter someday. We did this at home, watching the 24 Karat Gold tour during lockdown--full on shawls and twirls and everything! Seeing Stevie live with my baby girl is a bucket list item for me! I wanted to name her Rhiannon but my ex shot it down, lol. My daughter tells me that when I am gone one day (hopefully a long time from now) my Stevie and Fleetwood Mac records will comfort her when she misses me😭

She looks so pretty here…but this was kolonipin days. U can tell she so very high, changes the whole vibe of the song. But she does look very beautiful doing it. So glad u lived thru those days, & didn’t end up like some the other very talented artists in the 70’s. Luv ur music❣️

No this was Stevie was Clean, she started gaining weight being on the Klonpin, go back to the 80's, where she was singing through her nose, sounded like she had a cold. What made me mad, people were making fun of her because she was gaining weight. STUPID, You are there to her her Beautiful Voice, And See Stevie. Yes, being over weight, unhealthy. We Are There To See Her, Listen To Her Stories, And That Beautiful Voice. Thank God She Got Clean.

Her voice has always been amazing but each era had a difference in tone. Loved the timbre of her voice during the mid to late eighties it had a little bit of a nasal quality but just enough.
