Having trouble getting my head around I was 17 when this song was released and yet here we are in 2024 and it’s still as brilliant today. What happened to all those years in between?
@TheCenteroftheUniverse agree 100%.I wish I could do that and have a world class voice still instead of a hangerover and a load of dehydrated orange piss🤣🤣
80's was amazing, people could experience it and enjoy it. They could see and hear it, it was real and tangible. Gods have come and gone throughout humanities' history, and their relevancy is completely dependent on where you were born. That time and culture are more real than any of the superstitions or deities you can throw at them.
This song is exactly why Stevie Nicks was the 1st female artist to have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame not just once but TWICE!!!!!! She's the unofficial 8th wonder of the world!!! ❤🧡💛💃🎶💜💙💚
Stevie is such an ethereal, other-worldly beautiful. She seems magical, fairy-like. She'll be forever young in these videos... and so will we, friends. 💖
This is hands down Stevie's best song. The harmony singing by Christine and Buckingham is perfect. Super nice touch with the acoustic bass guitar, something you don't often see.
This was my aunties favourite song. She passed to cancer last year and she’d fought it for 9 years, this is her song to me and as much as it makes me upset it makes me happy too
I'm the only child and I was raised by my mom, who was always a huge Fleetwood Mac fan. I recently moved to another country and I've never been so far from her. Nowaydays I find myself listening to many of their songs, it's weirdly soothing and reminds me of her. I was so pleasantly surprised when I heard this song on AHS. Someone should applaud them for their choice of soundtrack!
I'm a huge Beatles and Van Morrison fan, however, when Fleetwood Mac comes on, something happens. They are the keystone of classic rock. "You Can Go Your Own Way" to me is the top 1 classic rock song. It just takes you back to that time like nothing else.
July, 1983, Stevie Nicks in Concert @ Market Square Arena Indianapolis, Stand Back Tour. Joe Walsh opened, he was hammered but yet outstanding. Great Night and better days.
Everyone looks and sounds at the top of their game here. I LOVE Stevie's outfits (especially that black and red dress with the fringe). Fleetwood Mac is one of the seven wonders of the music world.
The absolutely best female entertainer, bar none! She was the entire package; beauty, mystery, incredible vocals, lyrics, presentation!! I’m 73 and she still makes my heart go boom!!
Fleetwood Mac is truly an ensemble band. Younger folks may not realize it was a popular way to set up a group back around the early 70's. The Band, The Eagles, Chicago, and many others played in the same way, trading off lead vocals and compositions. It started in the late 60's with The Band, Bob Dylan's backing band. Part of the often misunderstood "hippie era" which was a rocking good time for all, actually.
I'm 17 and my grandmother was a hippie in the 60s (and still is, she's still alive) and we really bond and are very close. I was raised in that mindset and even now I still am. people can see my positive energy and I'm very active in making change happen the peaceful way. (I'm also pacifist and vegetarian and try my best to protect our beautiful planet Earth and be connected to her. I also cannot stand wearing shoes as I feel cut off from the Earth when I have to wear them, and am against anything that alters or pollutes our beautiful bodies, and let myself be my natural self (as in I don't think makeup is right because it covers up your true self, and am against peircings and tattoos as they damage our natural bodies.) in the spring and summer I make headbands of real grass and flower to wear, as I feel more in touch with nature that way, and I always wear my lucky peace sign necklace which I have had for many years, as well as my Heart Chakra Harmony Stone and my Celtic sun pendant as well as some other hand made jewelry I make myself) Many folks have called me a flower child myself for pretty much my whole life. but anyway, my favourite bands are Renaissance/Annie Haslam's Renaissance, The Moody Blues, Obviously Fleetwood Mac (And Stevie Nicks Solo), Yes, Genesis, bands like that. Stevie Nicks and Annie Haslam are my two music heroens and I have had the honour to meet Ms. Haslam on several occasions and she actually knows me now, and hopefully some day I will have the privilege and honour to meet Ms. Nicks too!
So wonderful. We received the same honor of nature and health. I am especially sensitive to all the makeup issues and stuff for women. The hippie is ultimately the path to match us with earth. I am in complete agreement with you on all you said.
Stevie was about 39 year old in this video and is absolutely gorgeous in this video. This song is one of my Fleetwood Mac favorites and will always give me happiness, it transports me back in time to a very happy place. Feeling blessed to have grown up with this awesome music. Rest in Peace sweet wonderful Christine.
Further proof of Mick Fleetwood's excellence. He carries a rhythm better than a metronommne. He carries a beat to lead one of the GOAT groups. He makes the percussion parts boost the others to great heights of musical excellence. He makes a conductor completely unnecessary. You go, Mick 🎉 ❤ 😊
I love Stevie's voice, of course.. But her dancing is just as great. What I love more than anything in this video, is the admiration in Christine's face as she sings and glares down at Stevie. Christine looks so beautiful in this video. Almost angelic. What a graceful, beautiful, loving human being she was.. God bless her soul.
This entire album was a Lindsey Buckingham solo album. He wrote, produced, and played virtually everything on it. The rest of the band contributed very little. Stevie was in the studio for less than two weeks out of the 20 months it took to make the album.
@@charlenelaurent7009 both of my baby boys are mid twenties now. I’ve “corrupted them” with my music, apparently. Lol. They love it. This song was so 80’s, and they….aren’t 😂💜 Enjoy your son. I noticed that, too. She looked like an angel in the videos for "Hold Me" and "Little Lies" Christine always had an angelic presence. She was an angel on earth.
Listening to this song while driving through the desert to Palm Springs is one of those sublime musical experiences for me. RIP Christine, such a talent.
Difficult childhood in 1987. I was 10 when this came out. My mom played it all the time Stevies voice is so comforting to me. This whole album. For some odd reason. Her voice is just bliss to me. I hope u read this. I'm 43 now. Hearing you on this album , I've played this album during the worst times in my life and u removed me from it from start to end
Fleetwood Mac were always ahead of their time, such as at 01:35 when they are clearly practicing social distancing some 33 years before it came into the mainstream. Well done.
I was 21 in 1987. The music was magical. MTV played videos. We went college, worked, concerts, Blockbuster, mom and pop shop video rental places, road trips Stuckeys, south of the border...If you were there in 1987, you know what I mean. Be well ❤
I was fifteen in 1987 and in the ninth grade when the Tango in the Night album came out. I feel the same way about the eighties. It was much simpler and happier then. It was Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac on the radio and reading Stephen King.
MalicelnWonserland I graduated High School in 1981 but loved Fleetwood since I can remember I went to College at Penn.St on a Wresling scholarship, was atwo time all American lol loved it, well the girls, and in1988 I joined the Marines for sixteen years ! Then short after I wound up in Iraq, when I got a little R&R I had this old cassette player and two cassettes one was Fleetwood Mac and the other was America ! Four tours and sixteen years later I still had that cassette player and those two cassettes that got me through everything I went through like a little piece of home when I listened to my music ! I got out in 2006 Honorable Discharge and one Purple Heart later still listen to Fleetwood Mac and America ! Sorry for rambling on my brother ... Peace to you ! SEMPER FI MY FRIEND....ITS WHAT WE SAY IN THE MARINES, IT MEANS ALWAYS LOYAL IN LATIN, SORRY AGAIN BUT ONCE A MARINE ALWAYS A MARINE......🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Last weekend I went to see Rumours of Fleetwood Mac in Lisbon. They were excellent and sponsored by Mick Fleetwood, he even says a few words on video before the 2 and half hour show, the musicians are great but the two girls are as close to Stevie and Christine as you can get!
I commented on this 3 years ago & here I am again !….I stand by what I said then ,this was them at their best ,great look, sound & music ….just awesome & totally incomparable!!!!
the contrast of Nicks' raspy full on vocals to McVie's soft sensual vocals is wonderful. they compliment each other so well. such a unique band where someone fades back and someone else steps up each time. Such a shame there is nothing like this anymore. music is truly dead right now.
It's a reflection of how the world's changed to me. We are literally a minority in our own capital cities now. The world is shit now. Music is also soulless now.
Dolores Van Cartier! Lindsey can be seen looking at Stevie in several videos w such love in his eyes. There is a more recent video he is standing behind her & he leans forward & looks like he’s trying to smell her hair. I believe they will always be in love w each other, but they just can’t be together. 2 very strong personality’s.
@FREEDOM LIGHTRIDER What's "sales" got to do, with it? The Color of their Skin has something to do with it, as does the fact, every member of Mac is lickable, tickleble (someone whom one would not mind tickling, about the Clavicle and/or Elbow. Mac, also, did not have to deal with Ike Turner, in their early days and whom wanted/wants to tickle Ike, i wonder. I, also, wonder, if Ike was not tickled whilst he was a Tyke (i. e. was ignored, too often, by his folks), which may be a reason he was a pain in the butt, which might have had an effect on Album/Record sales, at some point in Tina's Career. I know what happened....Ike's folks did not pull his finger, enough, which resulted in a build up of Gases, which is why Tina Turner is, now, beyond "Thunderdome." Ike had mad Gas and forgot to warn the Proprietor/Finger Puller. Dome, For Sale. Minor Cosmetic Damage. "UFO" Videos are just Dome fragments, in a low Earth Orbit. "The Passion Of The Ike", indeed.
My mum was my eighth wonder , sadly gained her wings in August 2021 suddenly without any preparedness ... these songs open my memorys , and the vibrations from the lyrics , sooth my soul xx
I'm very sorry for your loss, Mark. I lost my mother just a few months prior to the release of Tango In The Night. Yet I still think of her when I hear this song. Peace.
Part of what made Fleetwood Mac so great was having three lead singers all backing each other up on various songs. Whether it's Seven Wonders with Lindsey and Christine backing up Stevie, or Little Lies with Stevie and Lindsey backing up Christine, or Go Your Own Way with Christine and Stevie backing up Lindsey. It made possible a wide range of styles without sounding disjointed, because the combination of the three voices made up the FM sound.
You're not wrong... having three strong vocalists gave them a lot of versatility... each putting their own stamp on some songs, while being recognisable in the background to others. I don't know how they worked so well as a team, all things considered, but they somehow did.
Both Stevie and Christine look so beautiful in this video. I've always loved Stevie's clothes but her outfits in this video are to-die-for especially the white one
I used to have a big crush on Stevie the first time I saw her pictures on the Rumours album. She is still a beautiful woman and a great singer/songwriter. The episode on AHS in which she sang Seven Wonders is still my all time favorite.
One of the BEST examples of what Stevie's voice could accomplish. So strong and visceral...and the range! Also, Lindsey was such a dreamboat. When he purses his lips with that cocky confidence....swoon!
I hate when people say, oh a show didn't bring me here. Some people weren't blessed to know different kinds of music like this growing up. My family is black and my grandma loved rock so that's how I know who fleetwood Mac is. Be thankful for what you got given damn.
My parents didn't introduce me, and I didn't come from a show. There are other ways to find music... I see your point, and I don't intend to come off as rude.
Ok, let me chime in. Being born in 1976, this was the music I grew up on. Music like this is NOT made anymore. Kids growing up now have not been exposed to this style of music. Who knows, if not for a certain television show, MANY might not have been exposed to this. SO... I submit that no matter the means by which this younger generation gets to experience what we grew up with, I think it is a very good thing. Even we who grew up on these songs had to experience it for a first time. Whether it was because we had a sibling who introduced this music to us back in 1987 or because someone born after the turn of the century happened to hear it on a show, discovery is discovery. We who grew up during the 70s and 80s were indeed lucky, but nobody has a choice when they were born, so if this generation gets to enjoy truly great music, lets all applaud that. After all, ANYONE who loves these older bands and their songs are the cool kids in my humble opinion! Now lets all high-five and rock on!
As being born in 2001, I grew up and am still growing with.... Well you know.. new music. But it's really not hard to find out about old music. Mostly because parents, siblings and people like you talking about, " How AMAZING their generation was!" and how lucky they were to be born at that time. Us "kids" today don't have terrible tastes in music because we don't listen to you're music. It's not our fault. We also have all this technology to find these old bands and stuff so most of us just don't like old music in general. I mean Fleetwood Mac is my favorite band and The Chain is my favorite song. Like someone at school asks me whats my favorite type of music is and I say 70's rock they laugh at me. I'm just saying you're songs from the 70's and 80's aren't THAT great. btw I'm not trying to be an asshole. I love this stuff, just others my age don't.
No harm done :) That is your take on things and it's 100% legit. I was mainly targeting the close-minded people who have a problem with younger people stating that a show brought them here. Building off of your comment, everyone has their own tastes. And I believe that nostalgia has everything to do with one's own preference and opinions. You see it with those who were born in the 1940s. A LOT will swear that the music from the 1950s was the best because they grew up on Elvis, The Beatles and The Beach Boys. I'm just happy that someone your age knows of music that I grew up on and can enjoy it too. BTW, Thank you for opening up an intelligent discussion. It is a fine example of commenting with respect, which so few people seem to know how to do.
Listen, taste in music is a very personal thing, and never let anyone disparage or denigrate the songs and artists who hit you in that place inside of you, that resonates within you. Never let others tear down your response to it, and love for it. If it speaks to you, listen to what it has to say, and the haters be damned. Hell, I'm 44 years old, this song came out when I was about the age you are now, and the truth is, there's some music from your generation that speaks to me...not alot, but some. =D As Neal Young urged us all: "KEEP ON ROCKIN' IN THE FREE WORLD"
I agree, its difficult to watch 2 musicians you love so much, who brought out music which had made your life better suffer but I am like Ellen M & I still to this day, believe that the deep love between Lindsay & Stevie will never ever be erased. I believe that if Stevie & Lindsay have their time all over again in another life, they are destined to meet again

This has also been my favorite favourite song of theirs since first hearing Tango in the Night at a friend's house back in the summer of '87 (when i was a whole 10 years old..)

Stevie's Muse was so strong a nearly unlimited supply of blow didn't kill her.
@TheCenteroftheUniverse agree 100%.I wish I could do that and have a world class voice still instead of a hangerover and a load of dehydrated orange piss🤣🤣

For some reason the 80's songs never wear out. You can listen and listen. God bless the 80's generation.
Thank you, you too.
NEVER
80's was amazing, people could experience it and enjoy it. They could see and hear it, it was real and tangible. Gods have come and gone throughout humanities' history, and their relevancy is completely dependent on where you were born.
That time and culture are more real than any of the superstitions or deities you can throw at them.

Sometimes the tone of the bass enriches the song. John McVie played well.

Yes, they are. They're my favorite band! R.I.P CHRISTINE! 😢💔
I'm a huge Beatles and Van Morrison fan, however, when Fleetwood Mac comes on, something happens. They are the keystone of classic rock. "You Can Go Your Own Way" to me is the top 1 classic rock song. It just takes you back to that time like nothing else.
Fuck brown eyes
My favorite also. But they have so many great ones. Especially the ones Stevie sings, like this and "Silver Springs."

Walter Pewen I'm 13. I LOVE this generation of music
I am 13 also and Love this. I like a pretty widespread of music and adore this era.
Fleetwood Mac was huge in there day, everyone bought the Rumours album, it was so awesome.

Beautifully Said!
Duh
And who is "in charge" for "Little lies"?
You're not wrong... having three strong vocalists gave them a lot of versatility... each putting their own stamp on some songs, while being recognisable in the background to others. I don't know how they worked so well as a team, all things considered, but they somehow did.
For a group in constant turmoil, they were sure able to put out some incredible music throughout the years.

Hear! Hear! Good points, all.
