This is one of those rare albums where ever song is great. No fillers. Fleetwood Mac had many great songs and great albums, but this one is truly special.
A concept LP designed to seque one song seemlessly into the next. Spontaneous improvisation it is not. (We listened to this many thousands of times. Because girls.)
Oh the 70s. 1 of the best decade for music, when life was alot more innocent , no school shooting or mass killings, when life was real . Socialised to face to face and not over a screen. I bought this record in 1977 and enjoyed every note of it in good company. And even though family, friends, acquaintances have died or moved away, the music of this wonderful record still remains to make the positive presence of all of them last. When I listen to this record I close my eyes, I see myself driving on a sunny holiday down the highway and country roads to a radiant and beautiful beach. Thank you for putting it out there and giving us the opportunity to keep those memories alive.
Been listening to this my whole life I remember my momma singing Stevie and I got to see Stevie in South Carolina earlier this year 2 21 24. I don't have my momma anymore but I have the bond that we shared the love of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie's sole stuff too !!! RIP momma!!!!

FM is too high frequency, range is too short compared to medium-wave AM. All the cool kids simply evolved from monaural medium-wave AM to stereophonic medium-wave AM but I gather that Norway had even by the end of 2021 completely switched for commercial broadcasts from using any form of analog terrestrial radio to using solely digital terrestrial radio. 1978 is the year of the introduction of the Intel 8086, in some sense the progenitor - yes, I know about the Intel Itanic and that x86-64 was originally created by AMD, not by Intel - of the present-day (2024‑12‑08) x86-64 architecture.

I remember this album being a raffle prize at my school's fun fair, when I was in 1st or 2nd grade. The 6th grade classrooms had it playing that evening, with a display set up. I thought it was the coolest thing lol. Unfortunately I did not win. An older kid who did ran around the halls with it during the fair, super excited. 😅 Ah, the random things brains recall.
I can remember the very first time I heard this album in 1977 when I was 11 years old at a BBQ at one of my Dads friends house. He had a high end hi-fi stereo system and he played this on vinyl from front to back and I was blown away, even as an 11 year old. It has been one of my favorite albums ever since and I still listen to it frequently. This album should go down in history as a masterpiece. Even 50 years after it was released (which seems insane) it is still a great album in 2024.

I got to see this great band twice in their prime. 1976 in Germany while in the service and again 1978 Alpine Valley Wisconsin. Lots of memories every time I play this album.

Is it that there are 3 different, unique vocalists, either alone or in harmony that makes this so great? I was part of a group of kids in highschool and we'd gather at one of our houses and listen to just one album when it was released. The two that stand out most were the Eagles Greatest Hits, and Rumours. In between making out with whoever you're hanging with at the moment or sparking up the bong, we'd discuss the merits of the album. Obviously, those were transcendent times!
Best music still!! I saw Stevie in Indianapolis Indiana 6.4.2024!! Age 76 n rocked us for over 2 hrs! Music now a days I don’t relate to much of anything! Find myself always going bk to these great bands ❤
I have listened to a lpt pf music over the past 60+ years andvery very few albums are as good as this one is start to finish. Every song is fabulous. all are winners. And Fleetwood Mac isn't even in my top twenty favorite bands.

I am 41 years old, and from my limited experience so far, I have found that the only other album that compares to standards of this #1 album of all-time albums is Tom Petty "Wildflowers". The hits just keep on coming.

This was my oldest sister's favorite band. An ex-police officer/boyfriend of hers murdered her three years ago. I've always loved Fleetwood but since that time their music has served as a portal to happier times.

Is it that there are 3 different, unique vocalists, either alone or in harmony that makes this so great?
I was part of a group of kids in highschool and we'd gather at one of our houses and listen to just one album when it was released.
The two that stand out most were the Eagles Greatest Hits, and Rumours.
In between making out with whoever you're hanging with at the moment or sparking up the bong, we'd discuss the merits of the album.
Obviously, those were transcendent times!

I have listened to a lpt pf music over the past 60+ years andvery very few albums are as good as this one is start to finish. Every song is fabulous. all are winners. And Fleetwood Mac isn't even in my top twenty favorite bands.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours - - From Wikipedia - -Rumours is the eleventh studio album by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 4 February 1977, by Warner Bros. Records. Largely recorded in California in 1976, it was produced by the band with Ken Caillat and Richard Dashut. The recording sessions took place as the band members dealt with breakups and struggled with heavy drug usage, both of which shaped the album's direction and lyrics.
Recorded with the intention of making "a pop album" that would expand on the commercial success of the 1975 album Fleetwood Mac, Rumours contains a mix of electric and acoustic instrumentation, accented rhythms, guitars, and keyboards. Its lyrics concern personal and often troubled relationships. Its release was postponed by delays in the mixing process. The band promoted the album with a worldwide concert tour.
Rumours became the band's first number-one album on the UK Albums Chart and also topped the US Billboard 200. It received multi-platinum certifications in Australia, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. As of February 2023, Rumours had sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling albums of all time. All of its four singles-"Go Your Own Way", "Dreams", "Don't Stop", and "You Make Loving Fun"-reached the top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, with "Dreams" reaching number one. In 2004, Rumours was remastered and reissued, with the addition of the track "Silver Springs" and outtakes from the recording sessions.
The album garnered widespread acclaim from critics, who praised its production quality and the vocal harmonies of the band's three singers, and won Album of the Year at the 1978 Grammy Awards. Often considered Fleetwood Mac's magnum opus and one of the greatest albums of all time, Rumours was inducted to the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2003. The album was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry in 2017 by the Library of Congress, which deemed it "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".[1] In 2020, Rumours ranked seventh in Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time". - After the guitarist Bob Welch left Fleetwood Mac in 1974, the drummer Mick Fleetwood, the keyboardist and vocalist Christine McVie, and the bassist John McVie were joined by the guitarist and singer Lindsey Buckingham and the singer Stevie Nicks.[2] In July 1975, Fleetwood Mac released its eponymous tenth album to great commercial success, reaching No. 1 in the U.S. in 1976; the record's singles "Over My Head", "Rhiannon" and "Say You Love Me" all reached the Top 20 there.
But the band's success belied turmoil amongst its members. After six months of non-stop touring, the McVies divorced, ending eight years of marriage.[3][4] The couple stopped talking to each other socially and discussed only musical matters.[5] Buckingham and Nicks were having an on/off relationship that led them to fight often. The duo's arguments stopped only when they worked on songs together.[6] Fleetwood faced domestic problems of his own after discovering that his wife Jenny, mother of his two children, was having an affair with his best friend.[7]
Press intrusions into the band members' lives led to inaccurate stories. Christine McVie was reported to have been in the hospital with a serious illness, while Buckingham and Nicks were declared the parents of Fleetwood's daughter Lucy after being photographed with her. The press also wrote about a rumoured return of original Fleetwood Mac members Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, and Jeremy Spencer for a tenth anniversary tour.[8] Despite false reports, the band did not change its lineup, although its members had no time to come to terms with the separations before recording for a new album began.[5] Fleetwood has noted the "tremendous emotional sacrifices" made by everyone just to attend studio work.[9] In early 1976, Fleetwood Mac crafted some new tracks in Florida.[10] Fleetwood and John McVie fired their producer Keith Olsen because he favoured a lower emphasis on the rhythm section. 2nd album i ever bought sill love it
This was my oldest sister's favorite band. An ex-police officer/boyfriend of hers murdered her three years ago. I've always loved Fleetwood but since that time their music has served as a portal to happier times.

A library of knowledge, testimonial stories of experience, and all the words of wisdom, a teenager, from the housing projects of Philadelphia, needed to go forward, into the Adventure, of this thing called life. 60 yrs and counting, Some people write a book, of one major experience or emotional, spiritual time, they may have had in their life. I'm not really that full of my self, or feel the need to top another person's wonderful, life experience, but Chapters fill the computer of my mind. I'm sure I lost some, they went with the theft of my brain cells.
