    Dr Lisle is the only Dr who follows a Vegan lifestyle, who is honest enough to admit that we humans are Omnivorous.
    Whether this is the healthiest way to eat is debatable, but it must be noted that the animal products our ancestors ate, are far different to the factory farmed meat, chicken and fish that is served up today.

    This is a discussion that has begged to be discussed thoroughly for a long long time. Dr. Lisle does a fantastic job unraveling the differences between a cooked and a raw food diet.
    I saw Doug Graham speak years and years ago about the raw food diet and he said that most raw foodies actually eat a higher fat diet than the standard public. Because to get to satiation they had to eat a lot of nuts. But no doubt Doug Graham has done a lot of good, look at his fruits Robbie and Cyrus..
    PostScript: AJ, I’m now part time in the desert. I do AC. If you ever need help with that, please let me know.

    Regardless of the theory, have Dr. Lisle or Dr. McDougal ever tried eating 801010 raw fruit-based for any length of time and compared the way they feel to their current diets? It sounds like Doug Graham is the only one to have tried both styles for years at a time over his life, and seems to just be reporting/sharing his findings? Maybe not? Have a great day🙏

    As every other visit with ya Chef AJ, Dr. Doug Lisle is AMAZING to listen to and after what he said here, that leaves me to a personal hypothesis, my ancestors here in central Mexico were only able to domesticate the turkey and a little dog, turkey was grown for its feathers and the dog for use as a pack animal, and while they had wild game, fish and insects, they were primarily 70% vegetarian. Love Dr. Lisle's laugh. He's darling. Years ago I heard someone state, in response to the "humans are the only animals that cook their food" argument for raw food eating, "We are also the only animals that write treatises and build suspension bridges." Hilarious. God created all creatures as they are, today. Evolution is a myth. God created us how we are. In the Garden of Eden we were vegan, and likely fruit and veg eaters, one day we will be again. Shalom!

    This is an interesting coda to a week of raw food. Here's your excuse if you're not ready to challenge cooked food addiction. True the science on raw is not there yet but the glowing testimonials of the raw chefs should speak for themselves. This is a pionneering approach to health that sits where veganism languished for many decades - dismissed as kooks and quacks. Raw food is the future of food for true health - some will get it, some won't. I would advocate getting a good fruit based low fat meal plan for 1- 3 days and as Dr Lisle would say - run an experiment. The cooked food will be there at the end.
    It took me 2 years to transition from wfpb so please don't set up an ego trap for yourself, and start one meal at a time.

Started having cooked warming soups, roots, and ate more beans and my color,, energy and health came back. Please do not be so arrogant to say raw food diets are the healthiest. They are not. They are especially not supportive on cold climates! It is totally unnecessary and impractical to eat raw food all of the time. God gave us wonderful starches and beans. They were meant to be eaten

    What do the plant based Doctors think of someone like Freelee the Banana Girl's raw till four diet plan? Basically you eat fresh fruits for breakfast and lunch and eat a McDougall starch based dinner. Is it healthier to get in more fruit? More raw? Not nuts/fats at all. Is it a bit like Kempner's fruit and rice diet? Fruit and starch a good combo? Or is it better to eat starch every meal?

    Has Doug Lisle ever eaten an exclusively raw vegan diet? If not, then he is in no position to make a case against it, also anybody who has done a fruit-based raw vegan diet for an extended period of time would know through personal experience, without any hesitation/reservations/apprehensions, that a raw fruit-based diet is indeed a human specie specific diet. It is sad to see that we would go to any length just so that we can protect our addictions. Cooked food is indeed an addiction and we as a species can not stop eating it only because it is very addictive in nature. Survival is not the same as thriving. Survival foods aka cooked food will just do that i.e. ensure survival, can we fully thrive while eating a cooked food/survival diet, I suppose not. There is a whole different level of existence we as a species are not experiencing, thanks to our addiction to the cooked food diet
    Chef AJ - there is no fact like a fact learned from your own personal experience, if you really want to find out which diet is the best for humans, please do give a raw fruit-based diet a go, for at least a few months, especially after cleaning your small and large intestines thoroughly by doing an extended juice feast or a water fast.

      Exactly. Also, why wouldn't he try it at least for his own body if he is so curious? Screw someone else's studies, life is way too short to wait to feel great.

      I think that there is one flaw in the argument from epidemiology and anthropology. These studies look at behaviours of societies and populations, which is useful. They don’t necessarily tell us what is optimal, just what was possible historically.

    This guy is clueless. First of all, Doug was saying you would have fruit all year round in the tropics where we belong but if you are away from your natural tropical setting then you need to bring in the food if there's a need for it in your area. We are not omnivores. Even if you find small amounts of meat in diets of people from the past, it w never an optimum thing and they had it when they didn't have access to their food unless it was a cultural thing. Early man was a fruit eater, not omnivore and we don't eat like chimps, we eat more like bonobos. This guy is creating a love story with fire like an idiot. Fire destroyed food and created toxins. Acrilemide for starters. Anyone cooking food has done more damage to them than help themselves given real food was available. You can survive off cooked food but you will not thrive.

      A chimpanzee have a low metabolic rate. Why human's burn calories 27% faster than apes.

    • @daviddrost7963
      @daviddrost7963 3 года назад +2

      Huge? Chimps weigh 32-70 kg (70-130 lbs). A 100 lb/45 kg human needs 1,300 calories. An ape of the same weight only needs 1,000 calories due to their lower metabolic rate. Check the mirror for the definition of ignorance.
