Thank you for the very kind comment on my narration of The Pleasure Trap. It was an honor. Would you like to come on my live show to promote your show?
i know Im asking randomly but does someone know a method to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I love any tips you can offer me!
@Colt Liam i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
What I really appreciate about Gianna is the extremely well thoughtout questions she asks her guests. You can tell that she is very much on board with their research/work in the way she frames the questions. This particular interview is absolute grade A questioning and interviewing!
Ahhh, so nice to hear Doug talk with good audio. His normal "podcast participant" setup leaves a lot to be desired. But do remember I'm hyper sensitive to audio problems.
This was fantastic. Dr. Lisle is amazing and I love his insights and perspective on this. Made me look at the the whole issue of food and psychology in a new and better way.

29:36: "..long before [your cravings diminish]... [your] internal audience will have observed [your progress] and start to change the neurochemical cascade of self-esteem. That's what [you] need to (1) look for..and (2) understand that [it's] an inevitable byproduct of excellence for even a short period of time, and (3) [these] cascade[s] that will chain [your progress] together that will make [your] success much more possible [such that] you don't have to have won the game already to feel good. You..just have to know that (1) you are winning and (2) you can do it. That's how [overcoming addiction] works."
My family and I have followed WFPB diet for years & have learned the most from Dr. Greger. It’s strange that Dr. Lisle keeps mentioning animal foods as main dietary problem when processed food is even worse. Greger talks about junk food vegans & Dr. Lisle does reference “a natural diet” multiple times, but perhaps more often blames eating animals. Both plant-based and real food are essential to good health!
I know it's an addiction because I notice how I feel after I eat the processed food, aside from the guilt of course, I feel the "high" but it's more like a sedative, like alcohol maybe, not a stimulant I think.
Very interesting questions with thoughtIful responses. I'm going to check out other YT videos of you both. I'll rewatch the part about the internal audience. I fear that my internal "boss" will never be pleased.
Gianna I just discovered you and your channel and all I have to say is that you are amazing!! Best interviews I have ever seen!! Thanks from a fellow vegan!!
It’s so good to see you Gianna! I love this interview. I’m a big fan of Dr. Lisle and that’s how I found this. I’m a long time vegan and looking forward to watching more of your interviews with my heros! God bless and congratulations for all that you are doing in the wellness area and all of your other endeavors xo
23:30 how to make it sustainable? 23:50 -30:00 approx look for self esteem after just 2 weeks ...esteem dynamics....SE is not static...SE giving us feedback on actions (not goals)
I recently watched Dr. Lyle’s video on “How to lose weight and not lose your mind”. He mentioned that he his cat a vegan diet. I wonder how I could get in touch with him to ask him if he still recommends this. I would like to transition my cat to a vegan diet.
Please pass on my compliments to Dr. Lisle and PLEASE LET HIM KNOW THAT APROPOS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE, THERE IS A CORRELATION BETWEEN VEGETABLE OIL/FRIED FOODS AND VIOLENCE. This is an important insight into American societal problems and who commits violent crime.
30:22 what causes such differing responses to hardships? 31:06 story of PT 31:06 ........31:50 man who lived next door to a 7-11.....cannot be an alcoholic and tend bar
very informative. Thank u so much. Guess I have to leave my meat eating, alcohol drinking & chip eating skinny husband! I havent eaten meat for 30 yrs but have switched to plant based 4 months ago but I have NO support. I am hanging in there except the WINE an chip. Trying
31:40 described my exact dilemma. I'm hopelessly addicted to ice cream and live a stone's throw away from a 7-11 type store. I've been goung over there every night buying ice cream because the urge is SOOO strong. He says that someone in my situation would need to sell their house and MOVE? Worse, the doc says he NEED to move. That was a ridiculous response. . I get the need to alter your environment to suit your goals, but that answer was way out there. I would sell my house and then there's be some other temptation, like a store on the way home. That was a credibility buster for me. It's not the same as an alcoholic being a bartender! Sorry, doc, but you lost me with that answer.
People who have survived intense trauma and have subsequent psychological issues are not "being victims their whole lives". What an incredibly insensitive and ignorant thing to say, coming from a clearly very privledged person. Yes, it's great when people are able to overcome trauma and thrive, but it's very difficult for many people and those who have trouble overcoming trauma are not worth less. Try some empathy.
