    I’m a huge fan of Dr. Lisle and have read “The Pleasure Trap” several times. I always enjoy hearing him speak. It was interesting to learn in today’s video about how fear of association with eugenics prevented development of evolutionary psychology in academia. That dude is so smart!

    Eye opener. Keep these videos coming to entice and keep people and me engaged. I absolutely agree with the evolution perspective of eating. I totally was on that +2lbs/year statistic. Turning 36 July of this year and I am done with my old ways. WFPB is definitely the way of life now. Love your recipes and your attitude/personality as well. Exactly what I need. Big thank you!

    I love this Dr.... i think i was attracted to his humour before anything else. And I’ve had his book for so long and not read it completely... so note to self to finish off. Both authors of this book have great humour. And who can’t love the message.
    Now I’ve just found out about his podcast series thanks to this vid... so have just subscribed and am sure will also enjoy listening to the series.

      Honestly, this is the journey. The psychological part is by far the most challenging. It takes time to set in. Be patient with yourself and know that it only gets better and easier with time.

      Did he give any tips on what to do after the first 6 or so weeks with people? You do the whole "it's an experiment" thing to make them more comfortable, but then what? Now it's real, and now they'll be threatened/upset, no? At least with acquaintances, etc., you can just joke about it so they don't feel threatened, but with close family, I think it is much more difficult.

Everybody should also check out his weekly Podcast "Beat Your Genes" with NateG on www.blogtalkradio.com/beatyourgenes as well as his Internet Page: www.esteemdynamics.org. Dillon, I am cracking up right now. Dr Lisle's hair is making me crazy and you keep brushing your forehead like it will somehow will his hair into proper position! I'm at 4:06 and you've done it 3 times! ROFLMBO!!!! Sorry, I hope you see the humor. Okay, I'm going back watching now. I promise I'm listening. ;)

    • @WellYourWorld
      @WellYourWorld  6 лет назад +5

      Ha ha that is funny, but that is not why I was brushing my forehead. It must have been 95 degrees in that room when we got started with the interview, and thankfully it did not take too long for the AC to cool it down in there. I was sweating hard.

    I disagree it is not only stretch receptors, there mTor, Yppk, etc...your body knows .. if you have taken in fat, protein, carbs... etc. That is why a tiny piece of cheesecake makes you full if you listen to your body.

    I wish Doug would buy some tailored shirts. Off-the-rack clothing is doing NOTHING for him. He should do an experiment -- replace all off-the-rack with tailored. P.S. Loving the caloric density paradigm!

  • @george3737

    Coca Cola has 50gm of sugar per pint, or 200 calories per pound. So it is HEALTH food, Pretty silly!!

  • @runthomas
    @runthomas 4 года назад

    if this were true ....would we not be salivating over a pound of lard.....i know i am not. we are flavour oriented. rather than calory density. otherwise all fat bpeople would be running for bottles of cooking oil rather than coke.
