@@Miyamotospoop13 I think the dancing is fine, as long as it isn’t the primary basis of the show. Like crown has a bunch of forms, SCV has a bunch of forms. (Crown this year was an Eh in terms of like people from the past liking it). BD has way too much dancing imo, not many brass moments, but they managed to get brass caption (even though crown got 1st at finals in brass). They get the dancing scores like that
these kids with this level of preparation on G bugles could cause permanent injury. and we were doing 'movement' in the '70's, no one would 'boo'..

Crown's mellos are always so damn good my god
They won brass, visual, and guard and got 3rd. Which means they marched, played, and spun better than everyone else and still lost.

I watched these guys in person and oh boy were they amazing, it was in Farmington MN for DCI

Relentless that’s my second favorite crown show ( E=mc2 #1) but relentless was beautiful.
I was on the 50, 9 rows back when they hit that note, I jumped out my seat. Blown away... It was just that loud.
Crown 2013-2016 some of the coolest uniforms in DCI
2023 though. But the old hats would have been so good with rhem
Medea mixed with The Ecstasy of Gold as the opener had me LEVITATING for a good 30 seconds
And they made it look effortless
Still one of the best openers of all time.

We no longer have real drum and bugle Corps. My opinion, d.c. is turned a activity into a marching band competition. Real, drum Corps, don't dance and prance, plus they don't use electric guitars, and slide trombones, or electronic keyboard instruments, and all sorts of props on the field. And real, drum and bugle Corps, the drummer's drum and use many rudiments today they are jugglers, that belongs in the circus. DCI, has killed the activity. There's nothing wrong with a marching band, but do not confuse it with the real drum and bugle Corps. Please, call it what it really is today. February 25th 2023
Your idea of "real drum corps" is sooooo boring to watch tho. This is peak. ESPECIALLY with your opinion on the drimline. These new drumlines are playing things people in the 80s would think is physically impossible, while all being musically blended and clean. You cant say dci has killed the activity when its at an all time high in viewership. We don't want to stand still and play all the time, and us drummers most definitely dont want our whole show to be 8th notes with the best drum feature being us bending over playing on our partners drum. Respect to the old, but the new is infinitely harder and better.
