    Hannum combines rhythms so perfectly. I love his writing. Crown did (and is doing) very well this year.

    I feel like crowns percussion have found the key to becoming the most musical drumline out there, not just focused on snare splits and shit

      Incredibly truthful, the musicality and detail is unreal.

    *Seems like Travis Peterman has become an undoubtful influence at Crown when he joined the staff in '15*

      So much of Crown’s drumline’s improvement can simply be attributed to continuity within the staff. Between 2011 and 2014 the drumline went through at least 3 techs for each section. There’s only so much improvement that can be made over 1 or 2 summers, only to have to ‘reset’ a section’s technique and philosophy. Creates a ‘hurry up and wait’ sort of phenomenon that’s hard to push through to create something cohesive between sections who are at different points within their development and how they represent the information given to them by the tech.
      These guys are playing stuff the lines I marched in never could’ve played. And this is year 3 of Travis at the helm. Not to mention that we’ve all heard what this line can do now, 5 years later.

    amazing hands! I'm an old tenor guy...I'd never have kept up with these guys. nice to see more ergonomic set ups. back in the 80's, the rims were about nipple-height. wondering about the RM carriers though...looks like a lot of adjustment points that could potentially loosen and be a pain, especially that one just above the belly plate. do they hold up pretty well in everyday use?

    • @tim.noonan
      @tim.noonan 2 года назад

      I had an instructor claim that Randall May told him to spray his carriers with Loc-Tite if he didn’t want all the adjustable parts to loosen… really great way to make sure you can never adjust anything on them ever again. He seems like a tool.

      Body shape, mostly. It was more comfortable for them to wear it upside down so it didn't mess with their hips

    disappointingly easy bok for where they were in the standings, which explains why its clean but this easy at this leve should be way cleaner

    • @martyfore7163
      @martyfore7163 6 лет назад +5

      You do know there’s more to a percussion score other than how hard your book, right?

    • @jacksonweinberg3544
      @jacksonweinberg3544 6 лет назад

      Marty Fore if your book is this easy at third place you should be much cleaner, i know it's not about how hard it I'd but the only excuse for them to play like this is if their music was harder

    • @martyfore7163
      @martyfore7163 6 лет назад +3

      hitting_things_with _broken_trees they actually got 4th in drums but that's besides the point. They scored well because they executed really well on the field. The maturity and cohesiveness of their sound as a full battery is, to me, the reason that crown drums were so successful. You also have to consider the front as well and the crown's front ensemble definitely helped the whole percussion section achieve the scores that were given. I guess you're entitled to your own opinion though.
