  • Welcome aboard New York City Transit Authority Nova RTS-06 #9148 on Route B52 Wyckoff & Palmetto Sts via Gates Avenue. This is one of the 7 current RTSs built with Cummins M11 engines. They were originally 9 of a 600 bus order with two already retired.

    There was actually 10 of them with the Cummins Engine, 9142 being repowered due to catastrophic engine failure ....... All are retired now

    She sounds great. But when she retires, I wonder if the MTA will be ordering more Orion VII NGs for replacement

    NJT should have had this same damn set up when they bought their RTS buses. You can’t hear that distinct RTS sound in their buses at all 👎

    @juan833blue Oh I see! Also thats interesting that MTA is ordering new C40LFRs, I'd never thought they'd order New Flyer buses since ordering a large order of Orion buses. Btw they would be Cummins powered since Detroit Diesel & John Deere aren't making engines for C40LFRs

    R.I.P. RTS
    ADA and EPA had to ruin everything with their CNG and hybrid Low floor buses.
    I wonder why RTS became such a weak product in recent years. They made CNG anfd hybrid versions when they were with Novabus and Millinium Transit Services. and some with widedoors with wheelchair ramps in the front.

      The wheelchair accessibility low floor buses definitely dominated that
