God I miss this sound
I remember taking these on the Bx9 up Kingsbridge Terrace. They were terrible on steep hills.
Series 50 has so much more power
I remeber these buses would take forever to climb the Ogden Ave Hill on the BX13. The series 50 would do it in half the time.
Best sound recording ever!
This sounds like the type of bus that if you didn't secure a seat you gotta hold on to something extra tight.
Like NJT's first batch of RTS with the C8.3.
This would be a perfect sample for a game. The quality is excellent.
for roblox RTS makers, this would save their buses from 1987
I rode the 1987 GMC RTS bus on the B46 going to Kings Plaza with my mommy since I was 7 years old in June of 2004.
Me too and its TMC not GMC
I used to ride the B41 to either Kings Plaza or downtown Brooklyn!! LMAO
B41/46 was from Ulmer Park, correct? I remember most of these 1987s were assigned at Ulmer Park in Brooklyn
I hear the operator clicking that pedal lol my kind of bus
This one sound more like later model TMC from 1992-93 model. More Vibrate. This 1987 got to be an Repowered.
No it was never repowered
@@kalelc1996 This 4801 was an Express Unit?
@@knightclassic1 not that i remember
The 1987-88 RTSs at NYCT were hybrids: shells built by GMC, assembly in Roswell by TMC.
I need a cigarette!
I need a pack of Kools please

OM FUCKING GOD. I can't Stop listening to this, especially while driving on the Freeway. Which Freeway was this RTS hauled ass on?
qwandiddy I honestly don't remember which street or freeway. I do know that this unit was at Manhattanville & Kingsbridge Depot so this was either recorded between those times
This is pure music to my ears.

Wonder what route this was lol unless he was deadheading back to the depot
Considering 4801 was a Manhattanville unit I wanna say the M5 but you're probably right about deadheading the depot
