The opening in the wine cellar is a shoot used for cases of wine delivered. It is to hard to carry the cases from the main level down. The delivery trucks pull up to the opening & send the cases down without ever stepping foot into the house. The big room on the back of the house was a ball or party room with a bar. Much of the house has been set up for parties & spend the night company. They had a laundry upstairs for changing sheets & bath towels Etc. The laundry in the basement level was the work horse of the house for clothes, towels, linens, table covering used at parties etc. I found it odd their was no laundry shoot to the lower laundry. Every item would have to be hand carried down the staircases & long halls. For ALL the useless rooms on the main level you would think someone would have the good sense to include a laundry room. I know this because I lived in a VERY LARGE home such as this one. Also, they didn’t include a panic room. that we saw. I had 4 panic rooms throughout my home. Also, why NO ELEVATOR? Elevators are a must in large 3-4 level homes. You might get by when you are young, but at about 55+ it becomes necessary! Am just saying & speaking from experience. Thanks for the tour & always know with these large home’s hindsight’s 20/20.

This is a spectacular find, Ethan.
Those smaller bedrooms were probably guest rooms. The ones with walk-in closets were family. I would also assume the two mini suites were for live-in staff.
You probably should go back and check the doors you thought were closets. They may not be, considering those extra rooms in the basement. While making sure not to get caught, this deserves another tour. What an exquisite piece of architecture. On the day they tear it down, go file criminal charges against someone, bc.. shameful, and should be illegal, waste.
    Be safe 🌟

I remember when Jon Bennet Ramsey went missing, the cops said it took them hours to search the whole house. At the time I could not imagine that, it sounded insane but if you consider a house as big as a football field and 3 stories plus a basement...furnished and all the closets full...that would take some time to search.

The appliance you said was water, is in fact a Miele built-in coffee machine. Many of the appliances I noted were Miele, they are ultra-premium German brand. That machine would cost well over $8,000. Besides the built in ovens, there was also a steam oven.

Tha architecture comes from the Greeks and the owner paid a lot of respect to them in building the house. Even though we use modern building materials now they still incorporate a lot of the style from the older way of doing things. Other than the two large bedrooms, they aren't really the size we'd expect to see, as you noted on the video. But the details! The halls and the ballroom; the design features, the ceilings, the walls and the fireplaces are beyond compare! But - where is the pool and the spa, and the sauna? Funny that a house of this calibre doesn't have any of those amenities. This is one that I'd love to see for myself. What a find Ethan! .

The room at 29:27 looks like a linens room. Household linens would be pressed and stored there. It's likely the family had tons of table cloths, napkins and the like for their own use and for gatherings. The room is close to the laundry area as well. Sometimes one person would be responsible for caring for the fine linens and issuing the appropriate items for the family as well as gatherings.

That room was for food and kitchen equipment. The linens and napkins were kept in the dining room built drawers and walk in cedar room next to the laundry which he did not show in the video.

This place is ssssooooo cool!! The wood, the marble, the character to this place can't be recreated. I wish they would fix it up instead of destroying such an amazing place.
It does have a bit of a creepy vibe in places though.

This house is stunning and it’s a shame it’s being demolished! With it being so huge, I can’t see how it would ever be furnished and decorated to make it feel comfy and cozy!

Yes, the structure of the house is a 60's rambling ranch, but the whole interior looks like Italian Rennaissance.

A truly spectacular find, Ethan! Thought the price seemed low, however, since many other places you've shown us were over 10 mil and much smaller...I think the entire thing was renovated recently, since nothing looks out of date. The only original-looking thing I saw was the door from the garage into the house--definitely 60's. Can't imagine living somewhere like this--it's way too big.

Ethan, I am new to watching these exploring videos and this was the 1st time watching one of yours. LOVED IT! I was reading that you have some Negative Nellie's, so called followers. PLEASE IGNORE THOSE TYPE OF PEOPLE, it seems you have more people that love you and what you do and that's what matters most. From what I watched you did a fantastic job. Your enthusiasm is contagious, keep on being real and being YOU! I'm a fan for sure. Thank you for what you do, if not for you, I'm sure many of us would NEVER be able to see the inside of one of these beautiful homes, so THANK YOU! PLEASE STAY SAFE!!! 🙏 💗

Hi Ethan, love your videos! When I see these beautiful places my first thought is always
that I hope that they repurpose everything possible. Toilets, crown molding, wiring, doors, windows, fireplace, lights, on and on! A person could build several houses out of this place!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures.
P.S. Please wear a mask when you are in houses with a lot of mold! Mold can make you very sick. I just had to say that!

Another Gem. Shame it's just sitting there. What makes the rich just leave a home? I know money to some is just picket change for the rich. These houses should be rented out or show cased. Just Beautiful.

absolutely mind blowing amazing house, I like the whole house, the marble floors and walls of the bathrooms, the wood work is beyond amazing, and the fire places are a master piece, the ceilings are breath taking, and the wine cellar is open like that to keep the wine cool, think I read it has something to do with the aging process, thank you for sharing I loved the whole tour.😊🙌🙌🙌

I'm not sure but I think this is the biggest mansion I've seen you explore. It is actually very beautiful, but honestly, what do people do with all those rooms?! It's mind bogglingly big and I can only imagine the amount of money one must have had to originally have it built in the 1960s, let alone knock it all down in the near future and put a new build on it. I love your excitement and enthusiasm you have for these explorations. Don't worry about the haters! On a side note, it was a bit of a mystery to see that so many mirrors had been dismantled and removed! Thank you for sharing this mansion with us.

I thought i found my favorite room but then the video kept going. I think it was “the dark room” if I had to decide. The amount of wood in this house was honestly insane. P.s will always love the “what’s up guys”, cracks me up every time. Oh! I think I saw you in the background of some dudes video on that insane 80s mansion with the floral couch room. Yours is still my fave. Always love your videos man, have a good day ✌️

I am thinking some of those areas could have been 'apartments' for extended family. Like a Mother-in-Law apartment; or apartments for grown kids still living there. Who knows? But this one is definitely beautiful. My heart still gravitates to the old, dark, crowded, Victorian Painted Ladies -- but I still find this one mansion to be impressive. I especially love the wrought iron stair rail. And that wrought iron dome was just spectacular. If I could have one thing from that home, I would have that dome. Set it up in the backyard, standing on columns and you have a beautiful gazebo! Oh well, I can dream. Thank you for taking the time to show this.

This place is amazing and it just doesn’t end. I’m curious what those doors with the motion sensor go to, because you would think that’d make them something important. I’m really curious what the backyard looks like, because it has to be as spectacular as the rest of the house.

That's the exact same questions I was asking myself, actually !
Not going to the backyard was probably to avoid people finding out where it is, though (the same reason he said he wouldn't give the first owner's name).
