Eye prep is very important when it comes to eyeshadow. Removing issues on the eyelid (discolouration etc...) can make eyeshadow more even and colours pop!

Thank you Wayne that was very helpful. Patting the eyebase is so much easier for those of us with loose and wrinkled skin.
Huh, I've never thought of using foundation (cream) let alone mixing eye primer with foundation 🤔!
This is truly awesome.
I love learning something everyday and today I know I have.
Thank you so much Mr Goss
Loving energy coming your way ..... NOW!!! 💗💗💗💗
Bless you, Wayne.
I have very oily eyelids. What would be good for me to use?
I think I'll try mixing concealer + eye primer as a concealer. Definitely going to try this for the outer corner and hopefully solve that issue!
Honestly it probably sounds like I’m stupid, but I have never been able to make the discoloration on the corner of my eye disappear. It makes my eyeshadow look like it turns down. This just helped me figure out what I’ve been doing wrong! Thank you, sir!! 💖
Do you use a colour corrector? Xx
Awww thank you :)
Lauren - I have that, also and I think part of it is that area right next to the eye seems to hollow out a little as we age - the guy I go to for filler & Botox suggested putting a little filler there & it really made a big difference - I always put concealer there but I’ve never mixed primer & foundation - gonna try it asap !
Wayne, you are AHMAZING!! Which eye primer and cream concealer did you use? Thank you so much for your content, I watch you faithfully!❤🤘
I was going to ask the same , which primer is it please Wayne
Yes, details please ❣️
NOT SHOUTING:))) WHO KNOWS WHAT TO PUT UNDER EYES SO THE SKIN DOESN'T CREASE !!! PLEASE. THANKS.
.
@@margottfon330 Wayne has a few videos on this if you search "Wayne Goss under eye concealer" He has a few techniques, but your skin type will determine what works best for you.
With anyone, it helps to use concealer as sparingly as you can and avoid the areas that wrinkle the most. A pressed, translucent, HD powder just lightly dusted across the under eye also helps to blur fine lines and prevent mascara transfer. 💗
Thank you gorgeous!!!💄✌💜
Love your videos l save them and copy what you have done always wanted to know if you put concealer above the eye brilliant 💕🥰💞
Yes, sir. I no longer powder my eye lids. When you're older it's not a good idea to do that. You can get away with it when you're young but the young will eventually find out (as I did) that it can look cakey. As you age you have to make changes to your makeup routine. Love your videos, Wayne, you are the only one I subscribe to. Also, I would love ideas (from anyone) on a good eyelid primer. Thank you in advance.
I use the eye-primer under the eye too. It has done wonders for my eye-area in terms of longevity of the make-up, especially since I've been struggling with panda under-eyes because of masks.
Hey Wayne - thought I had tried every trick in the book, with different primers, concealers, etc., but I have never mixed them this way ! Can’t wait to try it tomorrow & loving his master class series ! Thank you for sharing all your expertise with us ! 🥰
Wayne you're a genius
Thanks for the tip! Will try this with a dry sponge.
Thanks 👍
Hi Wayne so will try this , great idea !
Crikey he's got the most gorgeous eyes, and that little wink 😉 😍
I agree - love the little wink !
Just got my first Wayne Goss eyeshadow palette. This is quite literally the only palette I would ever need! There were however, two WG palettes that I wanted, so I will be getting the other one also. The difference between “need” and “want” 😂
I started out with 2 and now have all 4. They are the best I've ever had.
@@ctaylorluce I’m going to try to stop at 2………but I make no promises 😂
Oh wow! THANK YOU!
Thank you so so much xx
Please, please, please could you list the products used? I’d love to know what eye primer you used!
Thank you for sharing Wayne it looks like a very good concealer I like the way you have prepped the eye great tips as always 🌸
I never tried this before. Will do it tomorrow.
I love these masterclasses taught by Wayne! ❣😉
👌 A dry sponge, I'm definitely trying that technique ...
Thx
I’ve been using concealer as a primer also, and will try a primer to see how it goes. Thanks ! ☺️☺️
Looks easy. Thanks for sharing!
You're a makeup saver 🤍 Thank you
Who’s here in 2024 🙋🏻♀️ I always come back to Wayne
Thank you.
Thank you for the info. Congratulations on keeping your Christmas Tree up! 🤗
Wow. That was very helpful. Thank you 🙏
Loving the master classes 🤗
I’ve tried everything to smooth out my crepey and wrinkled lids but to no avail. I’ll try this technique. ❤️💖
I feel you I understand. My eyes have fine lines and wrinkles and they look crepey and I cannot stand it! I try eye cream I try primer I tried it all we just need it to figure out how to smooth better the situation. Any suggestions any advice will help thank you kindly!
Love y and all your videos, thank you!!
This is amazing, I thought of this but I was sceptical but not I can confidently mix eye primer with foundation👌
Ooh, this is interesting. I usually apply eye primer THEN concealer, but I’m very interested to see if this works even better. I don’t set with powder either, as I figure the eyeshadow powder itself will do the setting and it’s one less layer.
San Francisco fan girl loves WAYNE!
Thank you for this amazing tip Wayne
May I ask why no powder with this one? I was taught it helps with the blending and spreading of the shadow. Does it drag and stick without? Would be grateful for any info.
Yes, thank you! It's so hard to find information on how to prep prior to applying makeup (eyeshadow).
A brush can ‘exasperate the issue’…. 🥰🥰🥰 don’t worry I definitely get words mixed up too, it can be exacerbating! 😉
Honestly I do get it … I’m dyslexic and wouldn’t have known the difference if it had have been written down. 🤨
Hey Babes!

I love his master classes as well he's awesome. I keep looking forward to the next one
Thank you! I’m loving these Master Classes.
I'll try this. Been experimenting different ways. Being older now, eyeshadows blotchy. Don't smoothly apply. Better w/eye primer/a tad of powder swiped off. HOWEVER I think MOISTURING eyelids and a GOOD eye cream w/caffeine? before eye primer might help even more. Am looking for an eye cream.
Thank You 🤗❤️
I can't put any concealer on and above my eyelid as it just looks cakey, my skin hates product no matter what skincare I have on underneath 😔. Annoying as my eye area is always red.
Amazing great teacher thanks
Always amazing!! You make it look so easy and fabulous... I can do this!! Thank you Wayne!! xox
Your tutorials are so very useful. Thank you so much ✨✨✨
I am so enjoying this series! Thank you. Love all the tips and explanations
Omg ty!!!!! This is such a good tip!
I get bad discolouration on the outter eye! This is genius!!
Very informative. Thank you! 🙂
Missing your new pink background! Really makes you and your work pop!
Aww thank you. These were filmed prior :) xx
Love all your tips and tricks. What do you recommend to reduce the look of puffiness in the INNER corner of the upper eyelid? I don't have hooded eyes but my inner corner of my upper eyelid is puffy. I use an eye cream with caffeine and it does help but it looks puffy no matter what I do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't be the only one with this issue. Sending hugs from Canada. 🇨🇦🥂
Mr. Goss, I have seen some other people also prime under their eyes as well because they are going to be applying eyeshadow to that area as well. Do you recommend that? Thank you for all the great info you provide!!
I mix my eye cream with some primer for my under eyes to keep it very light, less 🎂
Do you still prep the eyes with a lot of moisturizer before primer, Fondation and concealer??
Would you recommend applying eye primer even on the lower lash line and lower lidspace?
Good morning
Can you please recommend an eye primer. I’m 48 years and have never used one. Thank you
Yes, please ❣️
✅ Right?
Urban decay.
I’m 66 and have tried many, though found the Makeup by Mario primer (recommended by our dear Mel) gives incredible coverage, yet does not create texture problems for me, while others have been too drying. I tried that one today with Lancôme Idole concealer, and worked like a dream for me. Thanks so much Wayne. 🤗❤️
@@bethannfischberg3874 I wear eye serum, eye cream and eye SPF. It's a lot under my makeup but I'd rather have oily eye skin than dry eye skin. I'm more of a skincare before makeup person. That way I can leave the house with just one coat of mascara and vaseline on my lips, if necessary. The other issue is that if you don't look after your skin, the majority of makeup products are not going to look good on your skin. We can't really prevent wrinkles and things like rosacea, eczema and melasma but we can prevent dryness, excess hyper-pigmentation, excess oil, rough texture, some rashes, some breakouts and dullness.
I love this 😀
OMG❤❤❤ this is amazing...I just tried it with the Nyx eyeshadow base with my Black Radiance foundation and that chalky look is no longer there and the colours looks so much better and the eyeshadows looks way better.
I was wondering if anyone had a good primer recommendation - thanks for sharing !
@@Melody-285 you're welcome
@@Melody-285 I recommend the one she recommended, NYX Professional Makeup High Definition Studio Photogenic eyeshadow base. It lasts 10+ for me. Make sure tho to clean your eyelids before applying!! Really important that you do that
Is an eyeshadow primer different than primer you use on your face?
❤From India
Please Wayne, can you tell us what makeup 🪞 mirrors would be great to buy?
I've just been watching Nadine Bagshott, she recommends the Tweezerman that lights up. From Boots and places like that.
@@suelawson7273 Thank you Sue for letting me know. Since there are so many out there I feel overwhelmed looking.
@@suelawson7273 Thank you Sue
Amazing tip, thank you Wayne! Question: I have never purchased eye primer because I always thought it was a bit gimmicky. What makes eye primer so different from face primer? Can you use regular face primer for this trick? 🙈
Hi Beauty!
I did reply in another comment, so I’ll share with you as well. Eye and face is VERY different.
The face primers tend to be more sheer, where the eye ones create more of a matte kind of “magnet” base to grab powders so they also appear more true and last longer. I like Makeup by Mario eye primer because it also gives amazing coverage and it not drying for my mature eyes.
When I’m in a hurry, I just use concealer on lids, however it never gives such a finished look.
Wayne’s tip is fantastic. I tried today. Much Love ❤️
My eyes are a disaster so I needed this. I am 54 and it is getting more difficult to deal with eye shadow. I love all the sparkly things but I am not sure how much longer I will be able to do sparkly. Thank you! 💗
I'm having the same issue. I'm 56 and I have some truly beautiful palettes but wonder if my eyes are too old for them. 😔
My eyelids are a little wrinkly, too - lol - but I try to do kind of a halo eye look & just put a dab of shimmer shadow right in the center - it’s just a little bit - brightens up the matte look, I think
@@Melody-285 - how funny! I do the same thing! 🤣👏👏👏
You are never too old for a bit of sparkle...sparkly is a state of mind..lol! ❤x
@@abimckinney3754 too true, however it is not looking good on my eyes. I went without makeup for 3 years taking care of sick family members and the difference in my eyes from 50 to 53 was a shock. I already had hooded eyes that are even more hooded now. I am basically learning how to do things a whole new way. Soooo, it doesn’t matter what I do, the sparkle is a disaster. Life after 50…. 😂 💗
Is this good for lids with texture?
When will your waterproof mascara be back in stock at Beautylish. I have been on the waiting list for 4 months
Two weeks! thank you!
My eyelid is so dark...Please, suggest me a yellow primer good for my dry skin 🙏🏻🧡
I wait the whole video every time for that wink 💕
U know ur shit Wayne I was going to say I hope he highlights the inner and outer perfectly that’s what you did (; I also love to use eyeshadow primer under the tail of my brows
HELP?! I have a small spot right above my crease on the outer part of my right eye that nothing will stick to. Eyeshadow will not adhere to it no matter what primer I use. What do I do? This has been a problem for 3 years now.
I really wish I could find out how to stop my eyeliner and mascara ending up on my eyelids and under it’s driving me mad! No matter what type I use.
I had the same problem with mascara until I tried one recommended in a RUclips comment and it is amazing! It's a K-beauty called Isehan Kiss Me Make Long & Curl. Weird name but never budges!
@@carolgriffiths6603 Thank you so much for your reply, it’s in my shopping basket now 😉 💕
@@kellsmum1 hope u like it!
So is eye primer different from regular primer?!?!
i remember your video where you were against foundation on the eye. What has changed? You also didn't pronounce exacerbate correctly, but it was cute! love your videos.
Why don’t you do the under eye at the same time?
Unless I'm planning on using eyeshadow under the eye I would skip it xx
I have extremely dry skin What foundation would be beneficial for someone who is 61
Myself as well....
I tend to use creams regardless (but they are great for dry skin) ... I like RCMA very very much so. add a drop of OIL and its dreamy :)
@@WayneGoss Thank you ❣️
@@WayneGoss I sincerely cannot thank you enough for replying, that was awesome! 💜
I, myself, have never tried RCMA and always have wanted to. I know you that you recommend RCMA a lot, so I think I am finally going to give it a go (especially since you personally replied). As I said, that was awesome!!! I love you to the moon and trust you immensely. ❤💚💜💙💛
You are my makeup hero, Guru whatever you name it you are it. I don't watch anybody else because there's nobody worth it in my eyes! Sorry everybody else.
@@WayneGoss Thank you so very much for replying! I am a huge fan of yours!
Is there such a thing as a 'prep' or 'primer' for lips? Some lip liners and some lipsticks bleed terribly, and it would be great to have it at least not smear! Fading, I can deal with, but to look in the mirror and realize you've got half your lip liner smeared and perhaps a bit on your chin is horrifying :^)
I love this video. I'm still quite afraid of face makeup -- I've never looked good in it. But I find I could really benefit from some of it, especially around the eyes now.
In addition to Lindsay's suggestion of lip primers, you might also try a colorless lip liner just outside the lip. Works like a charm for me (age 60).
@@marygillespie2028 I have never heard of that. What brands do you like ? TY
