Would you please do a tutorial or tips for how to stop makeup on your upper lip from sweating off? I was diagnosed with Hyper-hydrosis and my face sweats a lot through out the day; especially above my upper lip. It's so frustrating because I can barely keep my foundation to set, even with using tons of powder. Is there a better solution or technique to use ?
I have so much respect for u Smitha..no fuss, no dramatization in video, soothing voice, always mentions all the products clearly and jotts them down, shows tricks and tips for very unique problem we need to deal with.. thanks a lot..
13 hours later and my foundation is still as flawless as it was when I applied it the way you showed us in this video! Thank you so so much! Life saver. Finally I can feel confident with foundation on again. Thank you x
So talented! I've found that using a facial setting spray that does NOT contain alcohol really helps. Alcohol helps the spray dry faster, but a slower drying spray helps the foundation set better and helps keep your skin more neutralized, so it doesn't produce excess oil in response to the alcohol. Thanks Smitha!
There are theatrical setting sprays made for the skin that arnt as harsh as hairspray but do the exact same job. Kryolan Fixier spray, Green or Blue Marble Selr (that's its spelling!) or Graftoban setting spray. I used to use hairspray as setting spray many years back, but id recommend these above on the skin now! (The green marble makes the makeup you put on practically water and sweat proof, ive worn full body paint using that all day and it hasnt come off, so can attest to its durability. The blue formula is kinder but just as hard wearing)
This is one issue that has made me want to give up foundation almost completely. Thanks for addressing this issue Smitha 💚 I appreciate that you help us living this reality. You are the best!
I understand completely.😂Mine has always done that. I even worked at a makeup counter and my manager tried to help me with it but nothing we tried worked.😂
Very insightful. I always thought there was something wrong with either the amount of foundation I used, or my technique. No one has ever explained this so clearly. Thanks a lot!
Smita do you read minds? I suffer from this and wasn't able to fix it, i used to pat my nose with compact powder and that just made it patchy. Can't thank you enough for these hacks. You're a lifesaver...or "Makeup saver" lets say. 😉
@@catmomlavender3036 I haven't actually, i have been using double cleansing method with oil based cleanser n gel based to remove makeup. Will definitely give micellar water a try. Thanks for the suggestion ☺
You are literally a guru and a goddess of flawless makeup!! Never thought there could be a solution for this problem for oily skinned people like us but the fact that you actually care about tiny little details that people face in their makeup routines, makes you a true makeup Guru! Thank you so much for this!
I don't have hairspray on me, but you mentioning putting setting spray on the sponge solved me problem, I'm new to doing makeup regularly so I never thought of that. thank you! x
You are too good Smitha can't explain, recently I am facing this a lot.. My makeup is breaking around my nose and foundation breaking on my nose and around.. You are a savior.. God bless you🙏🙏
You can get special fx setting sprays that are just as strong and can be sprayed directly and are safer than hairspray. I use them often for these issues.
Yeah, this was a game changer. Tried SO many things and my nose never looked right. I could pat it on and blend the same way all over my face and for some reason the nose always looked a mess. And it wore off quickly too. Since I started doing this it looks near flawless. THANK YOU for this tip! Totally saved my makeup!
Smiths, this is brilliant! Never heard this hack before but I’m definitely going to try it. My nose is the reason that I hardly wear foundation. This sounds like a game changer.
Your tips are so clever and so helpful to women like me, 50 plus, caring for an elderly parent which offers little time for self care but I still want to show up in these streets looking good... thank you!
Great idea. I believe it's great to use it occasionally for those of us whose noses are prone to blackheads, since the hairspray will seal and clog those pores even more.
I don't wear foundation just because of this issue. I have allergies and blow my nose every few minutes, dozens of times per day, and now I will give this trick a go. Thank you!!
And I thought I was the only weird person in the world to have this problem. Thanks Smitha! Would love to see you do a video specifically on contour. I always have a hard time picking the right contour shade for my skin tone (which is kinda similar to yours).
This was the hack I needed to add to my arsenal! I've had so-so success using an eye primer on my nose first, and better luck with using concealer instead of foundation, but it can be too much coverage. THIS though may give me the best finish while keeping it on my nose. I need to try this ASAP! Thank you, Smitha!
Extremely interesting! I will have to try this on my chin, where I sometimes have a difficult time with make breaking up and rosacea peaking through! Thank you!

thank you for recommending sunscreen! it's the most important skincare step there is. also, these tricks are used in movie makeup as well as theatre makeup, too. great advice!!! note: Mehron and Kryolan both make setting sprays that are very similar to hairspray, but you're right, regular facial setting sprays don't have the same strong ingredients.
Wow!!!!! tried this, and in my years of make up, this works, thanks a million. This is the only method I use from now on❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Just love your videos.

I don't normally leave comments but this video has saved me making an expensive mistake, I was about to spend $100 on another foundation thinking that was going to help, but your video was all I needed. I used makeup setting spray instead of hairspray which worked just as well. Thank you for sharing the tip!

Finally someone addressed the foundation on the nose!! You are the best! : ) Gotta go get my hairspray something I that I never use and now I will be using it on my nose, too funny! : )
I can attest that hairspray works well. One time while traveling I accidentally grabbed my hairspray instead of setting spray and sprayed my face. I was shocked. It was really sticky for about 10 minutes but then that went away and my makeup did NOT MOVE the entire night. Haha.

You're the one, girl! You're the one! Because when you first said it, I was like Nooooo... I could never! But yeah, not all over or anywhere else on the face can be acceptable! Now. I'm personally still too careful with my face, even just my nose, to do this all the time. So I won't be doing it constantly. (Although I do know exactly how to nurture that area and repair it back to its best health.) But on occasion, esp. big or important occasions, this is the one! Until or unless someone comes up with something just as good or better. 😊
Wearing masks always rubs the makeup off my nose, so I've only bothered with foundation on the top half of my face! Yay, now I can go back to full foundation coverage, thank you Smitha!
Wow Smitha! I was literally just watching one of your full face tutorials & thinking that I should invest in yet another foundation as they always separate on my nose!
