Same... I have been using my Milani primer for like 4 years now because it outperforms every primer I've tried. Immediately clicked on Robert's video as soon as I noticed it and am looking to see if I need to try another one or 2 for funsies 😂😂😂😂😂
I've tried 2 of these. I couldn't get Elf's to work. The fact that I couldn't get any out of the jar should have tipped me off, lol. Yes, I did try a brush and my finger. Still, no dice. His "fav". It worked as well as their eyeshadow sticks which was poorly. For the cost I expected SO much more. My lids are oily but not as oily as the way he described his. I'm shocked it worked on him... 🤔🤷♀️

I alway use a eyeshadow primer not the concealer. Concealer on eye seem so crusty and thick and I like my eyeshadow to be as thin as possible I saw some ppl set their eyeshadow primer with powder but I just go straight to the eyeshadow
I have met so many people who are embarrassed about having oily skin. I have dry skin and psoriasis so I'm at the opposite end but it's not like anyone has a choice about their skin type. It is what it is. I love Robert as much as I do because he includes every skin type with no preference ❤
He’s such a prim and proper cheeky sweetheart and I love it. One of the best personalities on this platform hands down ❤️ Also, his giggles are the cutest.
I began using the elf putty eye primers and I have never used concealer again! My lids are far noticeably less oily throughout the day and my eyeshadow lasts way longer! Elf is really stepping up and releasing some amazing products!
Full disclosure: I had no idea there was a such thing as eye shadow primer, but I also never used concealer on my eyes. In fact, I would just put the eye shadow on my eyes and go in about my merry way. Then you, yes you Robert Welsh, came into my life and I bought my first eye shadow primer (and some other make up stuff, but that’s a story for another day) and I am amazed at how much better the color shows up. Thank you for the tip and thank you for being a calming (and knowledgeable) guide in the realm of on-line makeup. You are the best! 💖💖💖💖💖

I get super oily lids and with hooded eyes it was a curse. Even waterproof mascara eventually smudges to give me racoon eyes. When I discovered eye primer it was a game changer. My shadow stays all day and my mascara does too. My favorite is the Ulta brand Matte Eye Primer. It's tinted and does a fabulous job.
Same eye primer is everything for me. I use to use concealer on the eyes like every guru out there but it was a mess my eyeshadow wasn’t blending like I want to and because of my hooded eyes it kept transferring and not staying in place. Ever since I started using the eye primer the right way my eyeshadow application looks great it’s more presentable and good enough to go outside with it.
@@hra2290 I think they are referring to applying primer to their eyelids. Since the oils come from that area of the eye, it then slides down to the lashes and makes your mascara and eyeliner melt into your skin. I didn’t know this until not too long ago. I will try using a good eyelid primer to see if it helps me with the same issue you are having 👍

I realize that this video is older, but you are the first MUA to actually explain the benefits of using eye shadow primer instead of concealer or foundation. THANK YOU! I follow several MUAs and makeup enthusiasts on You Tube, and while they all state their personal preferences, not a single one of them has actually explained why. Knowledge is possible, and I'm enormously grateful to you for being the one to finally spell it all out. I've NEVER been able to wear mascara on my lower lashes without smudging or flaking, even waterproof and tubing mascaras, and now I know why. I'm going to try using the primer under my eyes to see what happens.

Your advice is like no one else and i think there’s a ton of us who can relate to how you do makeup a lot more and you explain things so well which I know is a HUGE plus for me. When youtubers just do their makeup and say what they’re using, it’s not super helpful. What you do is explain everything and it’s awesome

@@blendofdays the nyx jumbo pencil crease on me even after sealing with a powder. How do you make it work? btw, the milani eyeprimer is VERY good, it's a bit more than $5 dlls but it lasts forever and none of what I put on top creases, fades or muddies. Shadow stays intact as when you first applied it, and this comes from someone that without eye primer shadows will crease within 2 hours 😐
The original UD Primer Potion is my favorite! I’ve been subbed for quite some time and stopped using concealer on my lids sometime last year. Thank you Robert!

I love it too! but I find it a bit hard to blend the eyeshadows afterwards cos it's sooo sticky! am I supposed to put it on and then apply eyeshadows straight on top of the primer or am I doing it wrong? 😅
The milani is still my favorite drugstore eye primer ( which is a UD dupe so the story goes ) I like the abh and Nars ones for higher end ones, like the abh one for colorful looks in particular because it’s so pale. I’ve been wanting to try the sigma one but waiting for the brush set I want to go on sale 😂
I've never heard anyone else say it's okay to moisturize eyelids prior to makeup. My eyelids are crepey and (were?) oily. I'm 39 and my lids are definitely different than they were when I was younger. Thank you for sharing this video and tips. You're a true gift and I always feel lighter and calmer after watching one of your videos.

Robert, I have been seeking a solution to my oily under eyes getting mascara all over them (even waterproof) for YEARS. I’ve asked Sephora and Ulta employees again and again and they’ve all been stumped. Thank you for finally offering a solution!
I have the oiliest eyelids on the planet, lol. The best primer I have discovered is by Milani. So impressed. It helps my eyeshadow stay n 10+ hours even in the most humid, hot weather.
The milani works great but not on my sensitive eyes 😌😑I had to give it away because it made my eyes water constantly! Idk if there's alcohol in it maybe?? So odd
Just got the Sigma primers, they are so good (yes, all of them because I couldn't decide🥴)! All my life I have had oily eye lids and no thing seemed to help, my mascara was smudging under my eyes no matter what. I even stopped wearing makeup for 10 years because I was so fed up. BLESS THIS VIDEO! AND BLESS THE TIMING!! I have dry eyelids and I've never had a problem with my eyeshadows before. I just started a job as a cook and it gets so hot and I sweat more and also the steam from washing the dishes I get just this crease of removed eyeshadow. Yes!! That brand is really good!! It’s kinda a hidden gem for sure!!! I got some as a gift with purchase and was really surprised!

Eye Primer changed my whole eye makeup routine! My eye looks now are PHENOMENAL! All thanks to Robert!

@@blendofdays the nyx jumbo pencil crease on me even after sealing with a powder. How do you make it work? btw, the milani eyeprimer is VERY good, it's a bit more than $5 dlls but it lasts forever and none of what I put on top creases, fades or muddies. Shadow stays intact as when you first applied it, and this comes from someone that without eye primer shadows will crease within 2 hours 😐

I love it too! but I find it a bit hard to blend the eyeshadows afterwards cos it's sooo sticky! am I supposed to put it on and then apply eyeshadows straight on top of the primer or am I doing it wrong? 😅

The milani is still my favorite drugstore eye primer ( which is a UD dupe so the story goes ) I like the abh and Nars ones for higher end ones, like the abh one for colorful looks in particular because it’s so pale. I’ve been wanting to try the sigma one but waiting for the brush set I want to go on sale 😂

I've never heard anyone else say it's okay to moisturize eyelids prior to makeup. My eyelids are crepey and (were?) oily. I'm 39 and my lids are definitely different than they were when I was younger. Thank you for sharing this video and tips. You're a true gift and I always feel lighter and calmer after watching one of your videos.
A hydrating serum would work much better than a moisturizer, also use clear eye primers since they don’t exaggerate texture :) I hope this helps!

Robert, I have been seeking a solution to my oily under eyes getting mascara all over them (even waterproof) for YEARS. I’ve asked Sephora and Ulta employees again and again and they’ve all been stumped. Thank you for finally offering a solution!

I have the oiliest eyelids on the planet, lol. The best primer I have discovered is by Milani. So impressed. It helps my eyeshadow stay n 10+ hours even in the most humid, hot weather.
The milani works great but not on my sensitive eyes 😌😑I had to give it away because it made my eyes water constantly! Idk if there's alcohol in it maybe?? So odd

Just got the Sigma primers, they are so good (yes, all of them because I couldn't decide🥴)! All my life I have had oily eye lids and no thing seemed to help, my mascara was smudging under my eyes no matter what. I even stopped wearing makeup for 10 years because I was so fed up. With this primer it stopped! Robert, thank you so much for your problem solving videos for us everyday munchkins, you explain things so well!

I have dry eyelids and I've never had a problem with my eyeshadows before. I just started a job as a cook and it gets so hot and I sweat more and also the steam from washing the dishes I get just this crease of removed eyeshadow.
This might be too much to ask for an eye primer, but I'm definitely going to try at least a few if these!!
