hey Wayne, can u please do a part 2 of this with a wing!!! I think most of us hooded eyes/smaller eyes suffer from being able to achieve the winged eyeliner look! ☹☹
Take a small brush...like the one he used to tightline. Spray some setting spray on a clean surface. Dip the brush into a shade like teal or dark purple. Work the colour into the setting spray until it becones liquidy and diluted. Draw a straight line up from the outer corner of eye. make a small triangle to join upper lash line about centre of eye. Paint it is diluted colour so it is not too harsh. Let it dry. Take a lighter neutral(I like mauve) dry eyeshadow and blend in an arc ABOVE THE NATURAL CREASE and inti the triangle of darker shadow. Blend it out gently. Finish with a small dab of shimmer right in centre of lid(I like shiny light pink shadow). You can use a bit of highlighter in the inner corner. If you like to line below eye...use the same as the first colour. Again dip and mix in setting spray and join to the first upward line at corner of eye. Final result is a cat eye look which does not close off the eye, and is less harsh at the outer corner. It lifts the eye, and wirks amazing on hooded eyes... even downturned hooded eyes.
For everyone interested in the palette Wayne used for the waterline: I believe I’ve identified it! Look for Sian Richards London Hydro-Proof Longwear Creme Pro Palette Melanin. I saw a price listed of $88.00 USD, and it was out of stock - which may be why no link was provided. Good luck!💙

Wayne, I've watched many of your tutorials. You explain everything so clearly and thoroughly. You inspire me to spend more time in the mirror and improve my make-up techniques. Keep up the wonderful work you're doing to help us all look and feel better!!!
I must say I tried this liner technique today for work (I work at a mechanic shop) I used a cake liner pot and it stayed all day! You're wonderful! It really made my eyes pop! Thank you !
This is awesome! It's actually the very first time that I was able to recreate a step-by-step make-up tutorial on the first attempt without failing. 🤗 Thank you so much!!
Great video again Wayne! TY As a guy, I have been doing just the upper waterline with a dark brown gel pencil and it is game changing! It looks totally natural and my eyes pop like no one business.
Wayne this is just amazing!! Thank you so much for this makeup! I have small eyes and small lashes and now at 33 years old, thanks to you, I actually like my eyes! This never happened so far🙏🙏🙏
Wayne! This is one of your best videos! Your patients and love for the technique really come thru and the pop out are very helpful. Thank you for always being wonderful!
Wayne, I learned so much from your videos. I am 76 and tried your technique. It looked amazingly natural; at my age, I do not want to look made up and this did the trick. Keep up the good work.
You don't know how thankfull i am for this, you are amazing! I'm 17 and have hooded eyes, i tried to wear eyeliner so often, and the few times i wore it to school my friends told that it just aged me too much, and that i looked anywere from 38 to middle aged mother shortly before her midlife crisism(i was 15, but i appreciate her honesty). I already look older than i am, always have (the people that i hung out with when i was 12/13 thought i was 18, i thought it was so cool that they let me hang with them, and they were shocked to find out that i can not in fact buy my own alcohol (i'm german, we're,allowed to buy beer and wine at 16)). I lost track, but i am just so happy to have found this video after literal years of trying to do eyeliner and nothing ever working until now. Thank you so so much !❤️❤️❤️
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this tutorial! I haven't worn makeup for 10+ years because I had no technique to manage my aging eyelids. This way my eyes look defined and still bright Thank you, thank you!
When I first tried this it literally revolutionised how I do make up. Totally transformed my hooded eyes after cluelessly doing „standard“ makeup techniques that just didn’t suit me. Your advice is always so amazing!
This is one of your best yet !!! I’m an older woman …( GOD … I HATE saying that !!!… lol)… And my eyes ARE changing … what used to work, just doesn’t anymore … I no longer have the lid space I used to…. I watched this video, copied it & WOW… my eyes POPPED !!! I do use Latisse for my lashes, so all I needed was a way to bring attention to them … Thank you Wayne !! ❤️
This is my favourite beauty technique,I was taught this a few years ago and can’t imagine not applying like this now. Your video quality was excellent. Be well . Thank you.
Omg I watch tons of makeup tutorials but some I honestly can’t get through them. He has the most comforting voice I can listen to him forever. Thank you so much for the amazing tips Much love from 🇨🇦❤️💙
As I have said before, Wayne you are such a God-send! You have amazing technique, so appreciated. I too have horrid eyelashes! Thank you for all your help!!!!!
I’ve been so afraid of trying anything with a brush and within less than 20 mins this guy has given me all the knowledge I feel I need to try it confidently after 5 months of disappointment from a gel pencil. Thank you man!!
The waterline is always so difficult for me. the eye refuses to stay open for it. I swear I hear it saying "get away" ;) I love the tight shots for this one Wayne.
I had the same issue for a long time until I stopped trying to tightline underneath. Just going btwn my lashes gives a similar effect without fighting my lids and tearing up for an hour!
Wayne, I simply must say, "THANK YOU!" I've watched several of your videos during the pandemic. I've not focused on myself for the last year because my husband died of COVID-19. Frankly, I lost the drive to take care of myself. However, after watching this tutorial, I think it's time for me to rejoin the land of the living. Your demeanor is so encouraging and soothing. You make me feel as though there is no hard core definition of what's good or bad in make-up. I'm ready to play with what I feel will make me look my best. Again, I thank you most sincerely for your support! God bless, my friend!
@@verrado1439 My dear Verrado, I thank you so very much. I do truly believe that our Lord has blessed me in so many ways. One perfect example is your sending His love my way. May He watch over and protect you always.
@@debsday5445 I greatly appreciate your very kind words. Although my husband was the actual COVID victim, I was the secondary casualty. Then it occurred to me that this virus took HIS life. I see no reason to allow it to steal mine as well! Stay safe and be well, my friend.
Loved this tutorial! I have impaired vision in one eye, so getting my liner to match up is a huge struggle for me. This technique takes time but is much more practical for someone like me. Thank you!
Thank you! I LOVE your brush! I have gotten very hooded eyes with age. And my once beautifully long lashes have gone to shit as well, they no longer hold a curl. So, I rarely use any eye makeup but a bit of eyeliner. Black eyeshadow with your wee little liner brush. It does help make me look like I'm awake. I usually carry the liner down to the lower lid, lightly and only a third to half if the way in from the outside.
Thank you so much for this video!! My eyes are sooo hooded ! I have the eyeshadow part down, but I need HELP with the liner !! Hope you're staying safe and well!! 💖🙏
I am blessed with the eyes that you speak about. Unfortunately I was also blessed with a very long nose... I don't know how long my eyes will last, but I definitely feel lucky. I do exactly what you mention in this video, just tight line and it makes my makeup look 100 times better. I don't often comment, but I always watch you. I adore you Wayne Goss!! 💕✌
First time I've ever seen him or tried his techniques and, wow! I LOVE dark eye liner and this technique totally changed my life! I used to have to reapply every fifteen minutes to keep this total coverage effect on the lashes, now I can go all day! Thank you! He also has an amazing tutorial on eyeshadow for hooded eyes that not only made my eyes brighter but stopped the shadow that used to fall and stain my cheeks everyday.
It is amazing how much bigget uiur rye looks just after the first line! I use your push and angle method for applying eyeshadow. I am in my 60's(😱) and am finally able to do my eyes! I trust anything you do! You are the master. ❤ From 🇺🇲✌️
Girl do not fear, for long thick eye lashes, take castor oil (three spoons) one spoon of aloe vera gel, mix the two to make a fine paste. Keep in the fridge. Apply to your eye lashes before you sleep every night, wash off the next morning. You will see magic. Tried and tested, ❤️ from India 😊
My eyes watered just watching... Lol I've had bell's palsy on both sides of my face now and makeup has become extremely difficult. Would like to see a video on great tips for ppl who have this issue! Love your channel!
Yes! I suffered Bells Palsy too, on right side only, so I can do a killer wing on my left eye but my right eye is nearly impossible to mirror since the hood is so much more pronounced.
Wauuu That was absolutely amazing! you make it so easy and it is really not. I have very hooded eyes. I have always had but now I am 54 and obviously I have more loose skin. This has helped me a lot Wayne. You are very talented and I know I am not the only one to know but I feel special now because of you and your lovely great genious techniques. Gracias!
I am Asian and I cant get those beautiful eyeshadow looks done by non-Asian young women without hooded or monoloid eyes. After watching Wayne's technique here I tried doing eyeliner steps 2 and later step 3. Amazing. If you look down there is no eyeliner above the eyelashes so it looks like you have no makeup on and are naturally pretty. Wayne you are amazing! This is the best look and no raccoon eyes given a good gel liner and ensuring no oils around the eyes i.e. after cleasing face will do.
Thank you so much for demonstrating and explaining it. Since turning 50 I am always looking for tips, I have tried this technique and have been told, "hey you look different" "what's different?" "somethings changed, you look great" I'm so glad to hear the compliments.... I am not a woman who is constantly worried about aging, but you have certainly helped me to make small changes and celebrate aging eyes.
I have a very hooded eye and this tight line technique has been a real game changer for me. Although, I don't have the best luck with using shadows on my upper lid that don't transfer straight to my lower waterline. What products would you recommend for this technique that will stay put?

You’re the third influencer I have heard speak about this tool. I’m so happy people are spotlighting adaptive beauty products. I personally am thinking about getting this because I’ve been struggling with recent eye infections and it got me thinking about my makeup cleanliness. This looks like a tool that I could clean easily between doing each eye and just scrape out some product onto my palette so I don’t double dip into the container.
Hello Wayne, I have been around make up (and make up artists) all my life - modelling, TV etc. Your tutorials are the best by far. I never write comments, but I thought you should know. You aim perfection with good technics. I am over 50 and I have to find new ways to do my make up! Thank you.
You: I don't even think there is a good way to tickle somebody. Me: You know me so well! Tickling is not fun. Not ever. Just. No. I like the longer tutorial and close-ups. More face time with you is always a Yes from me. A touch bury on the super zoom in when applying the black shadow, but I think it that may have been post-production cropping in from a wider shot actually filmed (just like how an in-focus pic gets bury and pixelated when zoomed in). It's great seeing that detail though. 😉

Wayne I don’t know why, but I finding you comforting. Also, I liked the cutaways!
I wish to just sit next to him and watch him while he does what he does .. it is so calming
I tried and can't make in the side dark
Can this get you to get an eye infection
Hope all is well where you are, plz stay safe🖤 Appreciate all you do
😮 Thank you for such a detailed tutorial. I have always stayed away from liner since it looks too harsh or a raccoon on my very fair skin but this is subtle yet striking. Thank you❤
Thank you! Due to serious illness my lashes thinned out and my eye are so hooded I’ve not even bothered with any eye makeup for a few years now. I’m totally stoked to try this! You’re wonderful, thank you so much for sharing your gifts with us. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You truly have come here to help us.
It doesn’t hurt that you end up making yourself androgynous so we can see how this works on just about everyone.
Thank you Mr Goss!
Love the way he explains each step. Very educated in this field as well as creating tips and tricks along the way. He has such a calm and pleasant aura!!
Wayne dont ever change who u r. Always making me smile and u know what u r doing. Wendy from South Africa. U rock❤
Great video again Wayne! TY As a guy, I have been doing just the upper waterline with a dark brown gel pencil and it is game changing! It looks totally natural and my eyes pop like no one business.
Thank you Wayne
I love any tips. I like it longer. I could listen to you all day !! Never get bored. Love you. Your tips work !!
This is one of your best yet !!!
I’m an older woman …( GOD … I HATE saying that !!!… lol)…
And my eyes ARE changing … what used to work, just doesn’t anymore … I no longer have the lid space I used to….
I watched this video, copied it & WOW… my eyes POPPED !!!
I do use Latisse for my lashes, so all I needed was a way to bring attention to them …
Thank you Wayne !!
❤️
I love the way that you explain step by step. Thank you.
This is my favourite beauty technique,I was taught this a few years ago and can’t imagine not applying like this now. Your video quality was excellent. Be well . Thank you.
How long did it take to master? I'm a contacts wearer (hard lenses, unfortunately) & IDK if this is an option for me or not...
After seeing you, I will say people with hooded eyes are genuine, nice, friendly and beautiful!
For the first time , I am watching a man giving demo by doing Makeup on His own face..its awesome...great job.. from India👌
Yep! I mean, we all have eyes, right, so why not! 😁 And he explains great and knows his stuff. Relaxing voice too! 😊
@@CamilleGG451 absolutely right..
@@Cara-39 same! It does just the same for me w/o all the tears!
God bless, my friend!
so sorry for your horrific loss.....God Bless You!
@@verrado1439 My dear Verrado, I thank you so very much. I do truly believe that our Lord has blessed me in so many ways. One perfect example is your sending His love my way. May He watch over and protect you always.
I think you're really brave to join the land of the living in such a short time. Sorry you lost your husband ❤
@@debsday5445 I greatly appreciate your very kind words. Although my husband was the actual COVID victim, I was the secondary casualty.
Then it occurred to me that this virus took HIS life. I see no reason to allow it to steal mine as well!
Stay safe and be well, my friend.
You make everything look so easy. You're so good looking and have such a calm voice!
Wayne is a REAL makeup guru. Great and doable tutorials. Honest reviews. And, no drama! Love ya, Wayne!!!
What a knowledgeable, kind-voiced gentleman .
I’ve seen many makeup tutorials over the years and he is my favorite! Hands down plus he’s also funny
You leave those “horrible, pitiful lashes” alone, sir. You’re a gem of a man with lovely lashes! Lol
You look great and don’t need beautiful lashes your a guy like who cares 😁
❤ From 🇺🇲✌️
You are such an inspiration. I love your professional style, because it's so easy to follow.
"Some people have very good lashes, I do not they are horrid!"
I felt that in my soul! 😂🤣
Mee too! 💜
I have horse eyelashes. Straight and point downward and hard to curl.. 😐😕
Lol. My wife is so annoyed with my cow-like lashes.
My eyes watered just watching... Lol
I've had bell's palsy on both sides of my face now and makeup has become extremely difficult. Would like to see a video on great tips for ppl who have this issue! Love your channel!
Yes! I suffered Bells Palsy too, on right side only, so I can do a killer wing on my left eye but my right eye is nearly impossible to mirror since the hood is so much more pronounced.
I really love you
I love how you show everyone your knowledge about makeup
You are just amazing
Thank you so much 😊
Wauuu That was absolutely amazing! you make it so easy and it is really not.
I've done the waterline and find it more flattering for my eyes, especially now that I'm older. I'm going to try it your way now. Thank you.
Not great with contact lenses. I wish I could tolerate liner in the eye/ water line
I am 65 years old and I have hooded eyes. I am going to try this tomorrow. Love your video
I just love this man! He is amazing to watch.
I just can't believe how polite and informative your videos are..
Please do make eyelashes do and don't for hooded eyes
Xoannon I generally have this issue as well. An employee at Sephora suggested the Lancôme eye pencil and it doesn’t really do it!
Inglot gel liner in #77 does not transfer at all! And it's really easy to warm up on the back of your hand.
Same for me so now I'm back at square 1 again.
I wet my brush and shake off the excess water. Applying damp seems to make it stay better.
I have the same problem
Almost 42...just had my first Botox round on my full face Friday. I wish I had found you sooner I spent a couple thousand a year on high end makeup products that don’t do what they promised! I’m binge watching everything you have. Thank you for helping all of us 40 somethings and beyond. Much love!
Thanks for the 60 crew too!
I’m a 59 y/o ICU Nurse and I’ve been using this technique for years, and after working 12 hrs shift, I have raccoon eyes , I’ve tried different brands and formulation until I discovered Stila stay all day waterproof liquid eyeliner, I even use it to tight line. What a game changer!
thank you❤
I just love watching him…such a warm and soothing tone…seems like the nicest guy in the world 😂 I’ve tried most of his techniques and haven’t been disappointed yet! 😍
The is most informative and to-the-point tutorial I've seen!!😊 I'll be watching each one!
Wayne, could you do a video on downturns lips through age.As we get older it’s not just the eyes that become hooded & downturns ,so do the 👄 xx
Just Me aThe joys of age eh lol xx
I would love this too! I always look like I'm sad....
@@paulahood1915 I look beyond sad, I look as if I am mad.
Just a amazing make up artist. I love watching and trying them out. Xx keep them coming.
Cotton bud sounds so fancy compared to qtip love it!
