    Well, Atrus and his family get into more shenanigans with realities than the Stranger is used to, I imagine. The man must be caught up in all current science and technology (and even advanced research himself...or at least a mind well suited to solving puzzles involving new concepts). Good man to have around.
    Too bad Atrus chose a bad time for the trip. 5 minutes earlier, and our new enemy would have broken into an empty room with nobody to follow him.

    Two descriptive books can never link to the same age, even if they have identical contents. They will link to very similar ages, but not the same one. So that wouldn't work, unfortunately.

    I like how You're tackling this. You could have potentially gotten distracted by the telescopes, the tusks or the Whistling Rock but You kept focusing on the task at hand. More RP in this LP.

    The way I understood it, not just the words to make the age were important, but everything from the order of items added, to the swiftness of how they wrote the age dictates how the age will form. But even if an age were perfectly duplicated, it would always be a different place with its own future.

    Yes, so theoretically, if our "mystery man" (I'll avoid spoilers here, just in case) destroyed the Releeshahn book, then everyone in that Age could still link back to Tomahna, as Atrus must keep at least one book there. The problem is that they'd have no way of knowing that they should, and even if some did, the fact that they don't return would dissuade the others from going through the book.

    I found it humurous and completely true about once again not having any backup. Every time in these games, right?

  • @FakeHero9
    @FakeHero9 11 лет назад +1

    No, it only prevents anyone from linking to that age. The people there- assuming they had lining books- could still link to other places, but never back to the world who's linking book is destroyed

    There isn't. I prefer to run in windowed mode as well but it's not possible with Myst 3.

    Isn't there a big hole in the idea of the Linking Books not working after the Descriptive Book is destroyed. I understand it's supposed true in the world of the games, but it doesn't add up. When the first age was written, they would have needed to write a linking book to get back to the age they came from. There could not have been a descriptive book to that age. Say the D'ni leave the descriptive book on Gaternay after their exodus. That tells me after Gaternay's collapse all links will break.

    Yes, i know that, it's just that he said that if a descriptive book is destroyed, then you can't link to the age, so i was just wondering.

    Since Saavedro can control the elevator from the top room, he could literally trap us forever while we are adjusting the mechanism below the elevator xD scary

      It’s a massively intricate game series that needs a lot of contextual analysis and often a lot of hand holding for people who don’t appreciate such intricacies.
