I found this piece in one of the old "Piano Pieces for Children" book by Amsco a few weeks ago, so I am glad you made this tutorial. That middle section always leaves me with a knot in the throat (and a few tears as well), it is just so beautiful! Thank you.
Oh . . . this is hauntingly beautiful. I can picture boats in the harbor pitching and rolling gently. For a classical piece, it doesn't seem too hard to sight read. I'm presently working on Jessica's Theme from The Man From Snowy River, I think this piece will be a great one to work on concurrently. I've been playing about 1 3/4 years using only Pianote for my training, but am also branching out on my own. Thank you so very much for this tutorial, it really inspires me to learn classical music.
Great tutorial: interpretation and technique for this very engaging piece. Love its rocking gondola feel. Have recently ‘dipped a toe’ into Mendelssohn with the ABRSM series score set of ‘accessible’ pieces. Now inspired to keep at it. 🙏
wow so brilliant performance!
