My off-the-cuff theory is that Imu was originally part of JoyBoy's crew and there was a rift between him and JoyBoy similarly to that of Luffy and Usopp in Water 7 only that time the rift was never healed and JoyBoy never grew past that point as a captain.

    • @AdamBuker
      @AdamBuker 3 месяца назад +30

To add to that, I wonder if the rift could have been Imu realizing that with the power of the ancient weapons Imu originally wanted JoyBoy to rule the world. However JoyBoy, like Luffy, had no desire to rule over anything. Imu then takes Uranus and Lilly and maybe a handful of other crew members and begins to plot to take over the world in order to do what JoyBoy would not. This quest for power slowly rots at his mind and his core morality until he becomes what he is today. Those of JoyBoy's crew who initially sided with Imu come to regret their decision and do whatever they can to set up Imu's eventual defeat.

You know, if Joyboy had a representative for each of Luffy's crew, Zunesha being Chopper and Robonosuke being Franky, it could be an interesting way to make the concept of the chosen one flip upside down. Luffy may have the destined devil fruit and be the destined person, but if Oda were to show us each of Joyboy's crew and how they failed, it would be a very interesting way to wrap up the series because it would emphasize that even though Luffy was the chosen one, he only succeeded because his friends succeeded in helping him.

Most likely it was something that was so important 800 years ago but is currently trivial. It was over something silly that was thrown way out of proportion.
The best example I can think of is an episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender where two tribes begrudged one another over a conflict between two of their ancestors. And it turns out it's over a ball game. (Even though it's a lie) If it's silly enough to make the Rodger pirates laugh then it's got to be the equivalent of that.

I agree and disagree with this theory. I really hope each and every member of the Strawhat Pirates plays some key role in the defeat of The World Goverment and Celestial Dragons. I don't know if that means they all get Haki or Devil Fruit powers, I don't know. Either way, I'll be very disappointed if only Luffy, Zoro Sanji, and Jinbe get the spotlight because I've been wondering about this concept for a long time. Robin, Chopper, Franky and Brook aren't as strong as other members, but they can fight and take care of themselves. The weakest links of the Strawhat crew for me are: Nami and Ussop. Get mad all you want, I already know about she's the navigator and he's only a man...well don't entire a massive warzone if you can't fight, and need your friends to always bail you out. It's either that or be ready to die.
If the Final War Arc really is going to make the Marineford Arc look like a joke, then I'm very worried for The Strawhat crew. Luffy struggled in that massive battle post-timeskip. Who are the factions going to be in this Final War? We got The Revolutionary Army, The Strawhat Grand Fleet, Other liberated Nations like Alabasta, Dressrosa, Amazon Lily, Zuneisha, and Emet. They will all be fighting against Imu, The Gorosei, The Holy Knights, Cipher Pol, The Marines, The Seraphim, SWORD, and maybe nations forced to fight on their behalf? People like Koby, Garp, Aokiji, Fujitora, and other marines might defect over to Luffy's side during the battle. Shanks will definitely fight for Luffy and to destroy the World Goverment as long as he isn't evil. I still think Kaido and Big Mom aren't dead and escaped during the Volcanic eruption if it wasn't them who created it. That would mean both emperors and their crews would return. They might fight for Luffy, but they will probably just fight to overthrow the World Government.
I'm sure Oda will set up all of the factions and key players when the time comes, however whether you agree or disagree one thing is clear and cannot be disputed: This Final War will determine the fate of the world and if everybody survives then it won't feel realistic. I'm not saying everybody needs to die, but if it's like Wano where a few minor characters don't make it, Oda will fail in that regard. Kishimoto did the same thing with Naruto. Killing off cannon fodder that didn't matter to begin with. Also, understanding the entire history of Joyboy, The Void Century, Imu, The Ancient Weapons, The Will of D, and how all these mysteries connect is crucial for understanding the villain's motivations and backstory. That's why people hated Kaido's backstory. He was this major hyped-up character that got a five second backstory before he was defeated, that's bad writing.

How did joyboy lost the war and how will luffy's going to win....
Here's a theory what makes the difference between luffy and joyboy?.... their powers are probably the same and the only difference that we could speculate their crew or allies.
When the void century war happened there could be a stage when joyboy's allies must take a decision and may be they make a decision against joyboy (probably they tricked by imu or someone from 20 kingdoms) and that leads to joyboy's loss.they probably lacks of loyalty or belief towards joyboy or ancient kingdom. And after joyboy's loss they realised that they had been tricked and wronged joyboy.Maybe because of that zunisha and the giant robot apologising to joyboy.
And like mihawk said the greatest strength of luffy is make people around him his allies. We all know the loyalty of luffy's crew. They all believe in him. like the void century war the decision making stage would repeat in the luffy vs world government war and luffy's allies will believe luffy unlike joyboy and make decision in favour of luffy. And that will lead to their victory.

I totally agree, I have always thought that the gorosei and Imu were part of Joyboy's crew along with Zunesha, Poseidon and Emeth. I think the key point of the story was that the Gorosei under the leadership of Imu betrayed Joyboy and agreed to peace with the 20 kingdoms, turning the royal families into Tenryubito, the gorosei as the highest power and Imu as the ruler in the shadows. .
From there comes the narrative theme of betrayal between pirates that Oda has been insisting on since the beginning of the manga.

I think another possible aspect of this might be that Joyboys crew were lacking in a way that made him have to go help them, thereby losing to Imu
Luffys crew on the other hand will be so self reliant and strong at their core in their own right that Luffy won't have to check his back to make sure they are safe
He can rely on Zoro to be strong enough to beat whoever is Number Two in the enemy forces
He can rely on Sanjis and Namis intelligence to organize the crew
He can rely on Chopper to stablize whenever someone gets hurt
The Strawhats without Luffy are still a crew. He can be the strongest without having to check they can keep up, because THEY CAN. He doesn't have to be anxious, he can full focus on whatever top dog needs a beating.
Oden was great but lost because someone tricked him into letting his guard down and making him believe his son was in danger
Whitebeard was great because he had his familys back no matter what, his back was unwounded.
Roger was the Pirate King, maybe as strong as Luffy (will be) and Joyboy but just at the wrong time. He didn't have to protect anyone because he was strong enough and his crew was aswell
Luffy can be care free because his crew has his back and he does not waver for a second to believe they will handle whatever happens while he does the tough shit.
It's clear what objective each party has, Luffy goes haywire and the crew has his back, period.

It makes sense that JB never had his "shabondi incident" and instead he and his homies just pushed through when they shouldnt making it everyones fault, including outsiders.
The prevalent thing is that Luffy is often greatly helped by people who have learned and strive to improve from their direct predecessors, they inherited their will. All this happens from generation to generation, all the way to void century. Example: Luffy had learned from the Pirate Kings right hand man, and was mostly influenced by a guy who viewed that same pirate king the way Luffy looks at him. Roger was likely inspired and inherited something from some big shot from the past. That big shot from another big shot...
You can say the same for Cobra, who probably ties back to Lily, and now Vivi is the one to carry it all. Momo too. You have these proverbial chains, the one piece that everyone has created and thats what Luffy will make that final lap with to create a new dawn.
Now this concept of "dawn of the world" has to be measured and compared to something. It cant be just "prospering times of the free world" cause there will never be "true freedom for everyone". There will always be a wrongdoer to make things bad. Kobys dreams also hint at this. Why would you need a navy in such a world? Hes a major player in the story and he wants to be an admiral. Theres Smoker as well. There are people willing to change the marines and create a just law enforcement system. What is most logical to me here is that in pre-void century there was a great peaceful era. Many kingdoms and empires of our world have had their golden eras and most of them were marked with peace and stability. And this is what happened back then. So in peaceful times you dont need Rayleighs, Kumas, Shanks' and such skilled combatants to aid you nor do you need your Vivis, Boas, Momonosukes to be such great personalities. JB didnt have this. Chaos came in like a truck and people werent prepared, which led to their downfall.
What this also does is give that open ending factor that any good story has. You cant just write everything conclusively. You need to at least have some parts of your story to have readers think about once its all done. Whether its more or less is preferential but there always needs to be some.

Luffy stays behind on Egghead to fight off Five Elders, and tells the crew to leave him behind. He gets captured by the WG and they announce his execution. This leads the SHs to feeling like they failed their captain similarly to how Joyboy's crew and the Scabbards felt. This will lead them to rally the entire SH fleet for a final arc rescue operation.

I'm getting strong "we're about to get two new nakamas" vibes. Hear me out:
CP0 is definitely kicking Stussy out and might even kill her. While Kaku might have considered taking Stussy back if given the power, authority, and chance, we all know that Lucci would definitely exterminate her if he were in Kaku's shoes-unless Oda throws in a major plot twist, like Lucci having a crush on her and forgiving her. However, Stussy herself has revealed that with Stella's death, she feels her life has no purpose anymore. Unless it turns out that the huge brain is the real Stella or Stella somehow gets revived, the only thing left for Stussy is death. Staying on Egghead means certain death at the hands of the Gorosei and the buster call. However, I don't think she's suicidal; otherwise, she would have given up on life after Stella's death. Yet, she's still trying to belong to CP0 and asking Kaku for forgiveness and a second chance. So, let's consider her options for escaping the island (at least the one we officially know about):
    - Government ships (e.g., those used by the Gorosei, Kizaru, the Vice Admirals, and the usual cannon fodder Marines)
    - The giants
    - CP0
    - The Strawhats
Since we've established that she's still clinging to life and not suicidal, I think she might desperately try to sneak onto the Strawhats' ship. Among all these groups, the Strawhats make the most sense. Why? Unless CP0 and the government forgive her (which is unlikely), the government will chase her as a criminal, and she'll end up on wanted posters. Between the giants and the Strawhats, the logical choice is the Strawhats. Luffy is a Yonko, and as we've seen in the story, the government refrains from carelessly involving themselves with Yonkos. So, Stussy's best bet would be the Strawhats. This is why I believe we might see her joining the crew similarly to how Robin did post-Alabasta, appearing out of nowhere on the ship. As a clone, she has a strong desire to belong and feel like a real human. That's why I think by the end of the arc, not just Bonney, but also Stussy, will join the Strawhats or at least try to become a member and ask to join.
Now that we have a clearer understanding of Bonney's journey, we can see that her primary goal was to save her father and reunite with him. However, now that they have reconnected, the story is implying that Kuma most probably won't be back as she knew him. That said, with her mission accomplished, Bonney lacks a compelling reason to continue sailing. Additionally, we know that after the Marineford War, Bonney's crew was defeated by the Blackbeard Pirates. She was captured by Admiral Akainu and taken to Marine Headquarters but somehow managed to escape, leaving her crew behind. This implies that her crew either perished or disbanded since there is no indication that Bonney attempted to regroup them.
Given these circumstances, it seems improbable that Bonney would join the Strawhats. However, her initial purpose for sailing has been fulfilled, and she now possesses control over one of the World Government's most powerful weapons: an army of Pacifistas. This makes her a significant target for the World Government, likely even drawing the attention of CP0.
Considering her precarious position, it would be advantageous for Bonney to align herself with a powerful crew. Joining forces with a Yonko crew, like the Strawhats, could provide her with the protection she needs. The World Government tends to avoid direct confrontations with Yonko crews to prevent large-scale wars and other potentially disastrous consequences in the One Piece world. And what greater twist could there be than for her to join forces with the legendary figure from her father's stories, Nika himself?
    What do you guys think?

I think what we saw in the most recent chapter is incredibly important. Sanji and franky would go so far as to use their strongest attacks laced with haki on luffy without a second of hesitation just because he asked even though he’s fighting an invincible opponent. They’re loyal and will follow luffy’s command no matter what. I don’t think joyboy’s crew failed in terms of strength, after all one punch from the robot did more damage to a gorisei than luffy could do throughout this whole fight. But I bet his crew failed because they didn’t believe in him like the straw hats believe in luffy. I bet that in one short but critical moment, joyboy’s crew doubted him and it ultimately cost him his life and brought about the 800 years of world government. After all, zunesha and the robot are sorry because they failed joyboy, rather than striving to get stronger because their strength was insufficient. It seems as tho they’re perfectly strong enough, but their failure was a choice so there’s no real way to remedy that other than to keep moving forward

People forget but ryuuma was also part of joy boys crew (theoretically since he didn't say much before he poofed) he left wano during the same time joyboy was alive, he killed a dragon which made him a legend in wano, he died from what seems to be sword slashes on his body which could have been the 20 kings, he never made it back to wano and his corpse was later used by moria. Ryuma seemed to be of the same family line as zoro and even gave him his sword as if to say 'this is your time now, don't fail like I did'.
If he was known as the greatest swordman of his generations (by wano citizens) that mean that their could have been either a stronger swordsman then him out there, or he was betrayed along side joyboy and choose to die alongside his captian rather then submit.

I totally agree, I have always thought that the gorosei and Imu were part of Joyboy's crew along with Zunesha, Poseidon and Emeth. I think the key point of the story was that the Gorosei under the leadership of Imu betrayed Joyboy and agreed to peace with the 20 kingdoms, turning the royal families into Tenryubito, the gorosei as the highest power and Imu as the ruler in the shadows. .
Maybe that's the reason for the narrative theme of betrayal between pirates that Oda has been insisting on since the beginning of the manga

I really enjoyed your video, and I think your theory is quite interesting. However, considering Japanese culture, we can never be certain. In Japanese culture, it's not uncommon to encounter unusual scenarios, such as leaders sacrificing themselves. We see this theme frequently.
For example, in the anime "Naruto," Neji Hyuga sacrifices himself to save his cousin and friends during a battle (Ranker). Similarly, in "One Piece," Portgas D. Ace sacrifices himself to protect his brother, Luffy, from a fatal attack (FirstCuriosity). Another instance is in "Attack on Titan," where Armin Arlert endures excruciating pain to weaken the Colossal Titan and give his friend Eren a chance to defeat it (FirstCuriosity).
In this context, I think one possibility is that Joy Boy might have wanted to sacrifice himself because Emu and the World Government were holding his friends hostage or otherwise threatening them. He might have decided to surrender because he feared that if he defeated the World Government, people would perceive him as a dictator. This could explain why he sent messages asking them to stop fighting. Perhaps he even hinted that in the future, someone would follow in his footsteps and fulfill his dream.

Lili was evil. Lilith is the Evil Vegapunk, 100 chapters after Vivi's introduction is the chapter "Crocodile-ish", and Crocodile is introduced holding a lily.
Given the amount of reverence Imu shows Lili, I'd say she was essentially the leader of the villain faction. This also raises uncomfortable questions about Joyboy himself. What was the promise to fishman island? What was the purpose of the Noah? I think it may be darker than any of you realize. The Noah was meant to save animals, not humans. Lili wanted to sink the world in order to reset humanity, because human expansion was causing mass extinctions of animals. And in the end Joyboy fought against her and the rest of his nakama, save for the handful who sided with him. The Gorosei and Imu are the nakama who sided with Lili.
The evidence is so out in the open with this one. The entire ideology of Amazon Lily revolves around survival of the fittest. Natural population control. The human hunting games are essentially this on a much bigger scale. Survival of the fittest taken to the absolute extreme. The Gorosei show contempt towards technology and express the opinion that the sciences regressing isn't necessarily bad for them. Then there's the war god of the environment. Likely Lili's position.

How the world fell under the WG will be explained through a flashback to Jpy Boy and it will be connected to the present. Just like Oden's failure to stop Kaido had very bad consequences for Wano and was connected to the present, the people of the present had to make his fsilure up and stop Kaido. So did Joyboys defeat versus the five elders and Imu lead to the creation of the WG and has to be stopped by the people of the present connected to Joyboy somehow.
