Thank God, I was really worried. Laika is probably one of the only animation studios I respect and appreciate nowadays, and all their movies are great. It's refreshing to see studios like that, it brings me back to my childhood watching stop motion films with my dad. I remember my favorite being Mad Monster Party, which is also a movie I think is pretty entertaining and kinda good, but maybe that's just the nostalgia, and that movie is really not talked about. I mean, it's a classic! A Rankin/Bass Production!

As an amateur stopmotion animation artist myself, I can personally say with experience stopmotion is insanely difficult and maddeningly tedious, but still somehow extremely fun to do. It's weird.
Closeted 13 year old me hearing the generic male love interest talk about his boyfriend whilst watching this movie with my mom: "haha whatever could that mean? Is that allowed? Hahah whoa they said that hahaha" *laughs*

Oh my god, Paranorman was my CHILDHOOD. I used to watch it back to back like 8 times when I was 10-12 and it never got old. I still have the DVD for it and a DVD player. I should watch it again.

Paranorman, Coraline and Kubo are extremely scary LAIKA films (while a The Boxtrolls and Missing Link are alright films that don’t take as much risks as they could’ve), and that’s what makes them deserving of positive recognition.

Yes! I love that movie, it was such a cool concept and hadsuch great animation for the time. And for a movie for younger audiences, it's pretty creepy.

Then at the end turns out he's gay and has a boyfriend and when he agreed to hang out and see a movie with her he thought it meant she was gonna hang out with him and his bf casually and watch something together .
Even goes off how he thinks they'll get along great.
It's a pretty great plot twist actually and handled pretty well.

And still Noone talks about it. I also loved the scooby doo movie he mentioned. Also laika has to get the credits too! They pulled off the best stop motion films ever!!!! Without them not as much people would know about stop motion.
My dada LOVES this movie, he taught me how to play Norman’s walk on piano and I love this so much, but it seems people just don’t like hours upon hours of stop motion animation.

I've loved every Laika film I've seen (Coraline, Norman, Boxtrolls and Kubo) and it's sad to see people brush aside this beautiful film making medium. The stories they are able to tell with the painstakingly hard stop motion has always been a wonder to me. I love Studio Laika and I cant wait for their next project.

I love this movie so much. The scene at 8:23 especially, there's something about it that really brings me back. I wish more people talked about Paranorman and Laika in general, stop motion is the best medium of animation and no one can convince me otherwise

i saw this movie many times as a child and if im going to be honest it terrified me i had frequent nightmares. when i got older i watched it again and i was finally able to appreciate the thought and humor of the movie

I enjoyed Missing Link a lot! Nothing groundbreaking or truly masterful, but it has its moments. It brings me back to the older days of animation where Aardman’s films were more commonplace.

It was my childhood movie, still is one of my favourites. The music is phenomenal, the ambiance is amazing and the characters+cast are impressive!
The style is one of the things that got me into art, it has inspired me a lot as a child.

When i was littlee i really wanted to watch this. But my parents were going through their "super christian phase"
i can relate. at one point my parents were a lot more religious and they wouldn't let me watch monster movies or celebrate halloween. But they don't care anymore luckily XD
When this movie came out my parents assumed this was a dark movie like most christian parents would assume but when we sat down and watched it they really loved it.

I used to really like this movie as a kid, i even bought the dvd, I remember how it stood out from other kids movies cause it wasnt so friendly and im just realizing it wasnt pg-13 which i thought it was. The whole witch trial theme is really cool and the confrontation with the girl was chilling . Also breaking the whole “boy and girl get together at the end” cliche by making him gay was funny lmaoo

I've actually met a couple of animators who worked for Laika. One of my instructors in college worked on Coraline. As tedious as stop motion may seem, the people who do it absolutely love it. They're living their dreams.
