The whole production process was a complete mess... Each episode was about 20 mins, that needed to be produced from script to finish in about 5 days. Nobody really cared about the quality at all, the salaries were minimal and we had to take care of other projects at the same time. However, looking back, those were fun times)) Thank you for reminding about it, I enjoyed your video a lot!))

I don't like how everyone is against samsonadzes, if you're georgian and understand the languages it's a really good show to watch as a kid, i enjoyed it and laughed alot to the cartoon so thank you for your work.
Wait, the Simpsons DOES air in Russia, and it wasn't banned, despite many attempts. It's still airing here on the cable channel '2×2', and going very strong, basically carring the whole channel by itself

@@Mafon2 Yeah, the censorship doesn't even make sense. The moment where Bart hits Homer with a chair was cut out. It's like the scene has Homer bathing, and in the next frames he is suddenly surrounded by wooden chunks.
P.S: I haven't watched the channel in like a decade, so I'm not really familiar with the current state of being.
Speaking of Simpsons ripoffs, I found a really obscure one from Argentina called "Familia Tipo" which probably aired in the early 2000s, which has equally bad animation quality and uses the same iconic yellow skin.
(Edit: Just finding out that Familia Tipo means "Typical Family")
I'm from Argentina, can confirm. The studio that made that abomination only made two episodes for VHS, the show never aired in TV because, if you don't know, Argentina is basically the country that most consume The Simpson in all Latin America (being recognized by Matt Groening himself). But it doesnt call ''Familia Tipo'' because of Family Guy, it's mean ''Type of Family'' or ''Kind of Family'' because it's very much copy the same formula of The Simpson but based in Buenos Aires (because Buenos Aires it's all Argentina, for some reason), so it's pretty much like ''This is your type of family, they are like you''. The animation was made in Adobe Flash and the studio doesn't produced more than two episodes.
"Familia tipo" means "average family", not "family guy".

It's a horrible thing to exist in, not as bad as the Voidium and no mortal needs to worry about the DeadSpace but Purgeatory is still a terrible place for Mortals and Monsters, a place made from the blood and bones and bodies of other Mortals and Monsters who cannot die but have been crushed and moulded into being the tortured parts of the Worlds and where everything is twisted in the worst and most disgusting ways almost no Human could imagine, where pain and torture and endless Agonies are just the first part of the permanent vacation, if you're capable enough and can find any good weapons or even sharp and deadly parts of other Monsters then you could theoretically survive and actually defend yourself against things because in Purgeatory everything has the ability to break even and surpass each other because everything is equal except for their intelligence, plus there's many portals scattered Light Years apart on other Planets do it's not impossible to escape, just unbelievably difficult.

There is a very simple reason of why the show was so damn popular in Georgia.
We had nothing else. Like legit. No animated series’s at all.. It’s the only thing we had that was purely Georgian.

When I was younger, instead of calling family guy by it's name, I just called it ,,the Griffins" like the simpsons but Griffins. I think I got used to it because the channel we watched simpsons on (it was called Prima Cool (it was a Czech channel)) always had ads and it was talking about all the shows they had and they called family guy the Griffins. For some time, I didn't know it was called family guy.
It was also called the Griffins in Russian dub. I guess it was easier to advertize by likening it to the Simpsons.
Here in Greece we actually had a cartoon show inspired by South Park, called "Ουκ αν λάβεις πάρα του μη έχοντος", but it was legitimately really good but short lived, you should make a video about it too!

The Arabic version of the Simpsons isn't a rip off its just a dubbed version but it's changed (we do that to EVERYTHING).
It was Cacelled later on and now a subbed version gets aired on fox arabic

"Simpsons banned in Russia" hold on, did that happen? Google only shows 2017 pokemon go episode banned because russian dude got jailed for playing them in church.
I think he just misinterprited something or used dubious sources. It was severely (and poorly) sensored on 2x2 channel (which was very popular and most people watched the show from it) at some point but was never banned for real.
I take it that Georgia's animation industry isn't exactly thriving if this is a hit.
As a Georgian the first thing going through my mind when I saw the title "Samsonadzes" was "Kartveli Simpsons?"

The cel-shading in this reminds me of the 2007 wii game Boogie.
Sometimes I feel like everyone hates rip offs and puts them in a negative light due to wether it be quality control, legal reasons or just sucking but sometimes you do actually get some great shows/media that took heavy inspiration from others to the point you could almost call them plagiarism.
Digimon tends to get a lot of slack even if technically it’s origins are basically Tommachi ripoff not a Pokemon clone like a lot of people think it is (mostly because Tommachi didn’t get a multi season anime, or at least I don’t think it did) but I think I’m not the only one here that really loved that show as a kid and still watch it sometimes today, and don’t even get me started on Extreme Dinosaurs, the old TMNT wishes it was this good, I still have that theme embedded in my skull after all these years. All in all, there’s a lot of copying and heavy inspiration floating around but there’s good within the bad, it’s just there’s a lot of bad, but there’s definitely some gems that where borderline plagiarism in there.

3d animation is cheap...but it's hard.
While you aren't drawing frame-by-frame, you still have to control everything that's happening in a very exact manner.
It's completely understandable why they would choose to keep things simple and go full steam ahead with shitty models and budget, because otherwise a lot of the time your work ceases to be doable in realtime.
I face that problem often and have really opted for the most part to try for a medium between the two.
I can't really say one way or another about how it turned out though.

@@monikervector990 you need to be more specific. I've never lived outside of Russia long enough to see some big differences between it and European countries that I've visited. We obviously don't have bears running around and there's almost no balalaika players on unicycles, unfortunately.

As an Argentinian, yes, we do have a Simpsons clone over here. It’s called Familia Tipo. It was released in 2001 and there was only 1 epsiode released tot he public on VHS.

over here in the UK it usually airs around 6:00pm (during dinner time since us brits usually have dinner around 6:00pm) so in the UK it's treated like a show for families to watch together
