Sadly people abandon newborn puppies & kittens a lot more than you think, my mother works at a vet and people come in regularly with baby animals they found on the side of the road tied in a bag or in a hole somewhere in the middle of nowhere just because people can't be bothered to take care of them or find them homes ADOPT DON'T SHOP FOR PETS

There is a huge overpopulation of dogs and cats due to irresponsible breeders, about half the dogs that go into shelters in America are euthanized due to not being able to find a home, and even more than half of cats
Support Reputable breeders who remain responsible for the animals they produce for their entire lives.
Additionally veterinarians should educate and about and promote Emergencey ovariohysterectomys
so ignorant/negligent owners have a back up plan that isn’t a garbage bag
The even sadder part is it takes zero effort to give a new pet a home. You literally see little kids and their parent handing these out for free outside of pet stores all the time, maybe charging a few bucks because they cannot afford to care for a full litter of pets. It's not the same as charging a large amount to make sure it's not being sold to some scumbag with bad intentions, or providing proper paperwork, but damn it's better than being a lazy fuck and just throwing them away.

My cousin and I found a bag of puppies thrown off the side of a mountain. We had to scale down the side just to get to them... unfortunately 2 of them had died before we got them. People are terrible sometimes.....

Back in the 60s a family friend grew up near a junk yard in Hungary and she found multiple litters of abandoned puppies and kittens. Can't get over how shitty humans are.
akadeepsea see u would think that but once I found a litter of kittens and tried to give them to the human society but they denied me bc they were at max capacity. Told me I should try another or keep them, like yea I’m gonna keep 6 kittens, anyway took almost a month but got rid of them by word of mouth and craigslist... so not always immediate but human society isn’t always ur best route plus they wanted to charge me for caging them if I wanted to leave them until a spot did open up... I swear everything is a business.

It sounds like the protocol for people doing a psychotic crisis, and if you've ever experienced dealing with someone doing a psychosis, let me know what kind of medical protocol you would propose. The standard protocole is internment for about a month max (unless they put other people in danger) but no enforced meds. If Britney signed that her father can grant enforced meds it's because she knows that when in crisis she becomes highly dangerous to herself and others.

Yah, her video seemed kinda forced. She also has seemed to be doing well enough for 10+ years to end the conservative stuff needs to be heavily re-examined. Let's face it, India didnt ban TikTok to protect kids in India against pedos and porn; India banned it because of the bad image a massive amount of Indian people were giving the country by using the app to hit on underage kids.

@Jessy Landry I'm not writing my finals this year, so I'm fine. it works a bit different here, you can't pay someone to homeschool you as far as i know-- you might have to sign up to a private school, and then get a teacher assigned to homeschool you. but very small % of people can afford to put their children in a private school. and the exams start on the 6th of may. that's too little time.

I've never heard of conservatorships, but the whole thing sounds scary. I see how it can be beneficial, but what if your conservator takes advantage of their power? I can't imagine having someone make decisions for you that you wouldn't choose for yourself.
It's usually a last ditch option for people; it's either that or being a ward of the state, where they get to run your finances. You can sue your conservator if they're abusing their power, but it will take a lot of investigating to win your rights back. Abusive conservators will do everything in their power to prove the "conservetee" wrong, and in the case of mental health issues, the patient is less likely to win, as some mental health facilities (and sometimes psychiatrists) can report lack of progress in their patient, which can be used against the patient.
WTF is wrong with this lady? Her car works just fine not that you need to drive to a shelter you can call aspca anonymously they'll go get them in most places. In hindsight the other dogs would still be in her possession. That's the bright side the dogs are all safe & she's locked up. 🐕♥️

If you don't want your puppies sell them, take them to a rescue center/actual farm or petshop
Probably not a real option in this case. Given how many dogs she had, it's likely she was doing this a lot. If she dropped all those puppies off at the ASPCA, they would alert the authorities and she'd lose her current pets.
Please don't take this as any kind of defense of what she did here, which was pretty monstrous. The real solution was to get her dogs spayed and neutered from the get go.

@oppie YES! spay & neuter! California has amazing rescues that raise money to assist people that can't afford spay & neuter fees. We just had a hoarding situation of over 100 dogs/puppies (all unaltered males and females). The man asked for help, he realized he was overwhelmed & EVERY rescue in our area stepped up to take in the dogs.
I'm gonna open with I'm not defending this lady.
But where I live it is illegal to sell animals without a certain license, which costs $175 and giving them away for free is considered a sell! So you can't do that legally....
I can take them to the near by pounds but they charge a care and food fee of $50 per dog, less for some animals but we are talking about dogs....
I could keep them but I'm not allowed to house more then 3 dogs in my home as per local law. So that's also illegal.....
What is someone to do when you can't afford to keep them but you can't afford to give them away either? The law has made It physically impossible unless I have $200 minimum to spare.....
@@gozzilla177 Spay & neuter your animal and you will never have to deal with finding a way to get rid of puppies. Its really that simple. My county only allows 1 litter of puppies per household per year, any more than that requires a license. Unfortunately, it is not enforced very well. Wish they would do what your location is doing, it would definitely lower the number of strays we have here.

My brother and I were driving down the highway headed home from work one day when some POS couple tossed their cat out of the window. This was at around 120 kilometers per hour. The cat was absolutely mangled but survived. We got the plates and the cops found them later on that day. The sad excuse for human beings that tossed it are still in jail as far as I know. Some people are pathetic.
What happened to the cat?
I hope they're getting raped hard in jail. Sometimes I think if I didn't decide to be a mortician, I might be a prison guard so I could give inmates candy and soda in exchange for making sure they "took cake of" animal abusers.

@@walrusArmageddon I'm not sure what happened to the cat. it survived but i was never told if it found a home. they had an article in the paper when it happened but didn't print an update as to whether it was adopted. it was in the news though so I imagine someone took it in. most apartments don't allow pets so I wasn't in a position to adopt it myself.

This woman may very well have a mental illness that makes her unable to distinguish between right and wrong, but judging by the fact that she went to a different dumpster than her own to dispose of the puppies says, to me at least, that she knew it was wrong. Maybe she had hoarder tendencies, maybe she's mentally ill, but the only reason why mental illness has an effect on legal proceedings is because sometimes people literally cannot understand what they are being punished for.

I have a classmate who's part of the #Freebritney movement. She started talking about it n class and I had heard about it but like you said there's not really a lot of confirmed information on it. So I voiced that. I said I can't really give my opinion on it when there's isn't a lot of factsyet. It's all currently a lot of he said she said. And I'm quite positive she was offended by that. She know sends me passive aggressive texts of her Twitter talking about her. She seemed to think because I'm a woman I HAVE to stand with another woman. And I would but i don't know her mental health state. She may really be there for help. I would never tell someone to leave if its helping them. So it's crazy how people are pulled by rumors and opinions. I will make a decision after I hear facts.
But the Free Britney movement is not about Britney's mental health or her mental illness. It's about a 37yo woman who has no control over her life because of mistakes she made 12 years ago. What her fans don't understand is how someone that is so mentally ill to be put under a conservatorship because she can't take care of herself, but at the same time has made 4 world tours and 3 albums. That surelly isn't a healthy workload for someone that has mental health issues.
As has been said before, the protests aren't against the mental health facility, they are against somebody else having complete control of her life, which is flat out wrong. Try to pay attention.
It sounds more like an adult guardian. I highly doubt every penny is under lock and key, it's more likely that any expenses are paid directly through the position and that she gets a stipend or something. This is someone who had disastrous impulse control and numerous mental health issues over the years, but willfully continues her career. This seems similar to how Power of Attorney works.

I’m 37 and last year I checked myself into another psychiatric hospital for the 9th time in my life. I have bipolar disorder II and there are time when medication just isn’t doing it’s job. I become very hard to deal with, very depressed and suicidal. I’m also a mom to two boys, so I need to be healthy for them. It would be rough to be in her spot, in the spotlight, and trying to deal with ANY mental health issue. I hope her father does have her best interest in heart and that she gets the help she needs.

Honestly, I genuinely have a hard time understanding the situation around Britney.
I get the idea that she is mentally sound and the legal control of her financials not being her own would be infuriating. But go look at Britney. Watch her few unprofessional posts. She's in her late 30s but looks so much older for someone who presumably spends so much time staying in shape for her productions.
Idk, sure it could all be a conspiracy to make her seem mentally unfit, but she definitely seems to have some inner demons. Maybe it's for the better she's not 100% in control. Maybe it's not even her mental abilities but a drug habit? Who knows whats going on. Being that rich is like living in a different reality. In regard to that 9-9 shift pattern, I work in a 24/7 shop doing 9pm -9am night shifts. My old manager had done 9pm -9am 7 days a week for 3 months without a day off.. madness
We have three cats who were rescued from a hoarder (she had something like four tons of refuse and over 60 animals). My daughter had her eye on a longhair named Marshmallow, and we were told that this particular cat had bonded heavily with a tuxedo cat-Yoshi-and could not be separated...and poor Yoshi was traumatized.
When animal control found Yoshi, she had been trapped under a pile of empty boxes and newspapers long enough for almost all of her fur to fall out. She had scars from rodent and insect bites. To top it all off, almost half of her tail had to be amputated. The hoarder didn’t even know that the litter Yoshi had been born into even existed!
We were warned that Yoshi might never be an affectionate cat, and that she was at risk of arthritis-type pain in her remaining tail. This had apparently scared off other people...which was their loss entirely. Yoshi is a great pet! Her fur grew back wonderfully, and you can only see the scars if you go looking for them. She does have pain at the amputation site now that she is getting older, but it’s fairly easy to manage.
Every time I see a certain look on her face as she scurries up the cat tree to cradle her painful tail, I can’t help but resent the hoarder who did this to her.

I'm a psych nurse and guardianship/conservatorship is NOT AT ALL uncommon with people with severe mental illness. Hell, in Texas it's the ONLY way to make psych treatment decisions on a patient's behalf. People really shouldn't try to "save" someone from one if they don't even understand why the person has one in the first place.
That's the problem, though. Nobody knows ANYTHING about these "mental health issues". Her relationship with her father has always seemed extremely sketchy to me.
It’s not uncommon. The thing about it is that Britney has been under this conservatorship for a DECADE and has tried to abolish 7 times. TWO PSYCHIATRISTS cleared her and suggested she be let out of the conservatorship. Not to mention the fact that Britney was so “mentally ill”, but she was completely able and competent to release 3 albums, embark on 3 world tours, constantly rehearse, do endless promotion. But she’s so mentally ill, right?
@@mannyjohnson4539 A person trying to abolish their conservatorship is not a new thing, the fact that it's been denied 7 times is a pretty good indicator that she needs it. She clearly has a disorder with a mood component since she has openly displayed manic behavior, and it isn't uncommon for mania to make you think you are in control when you aren't. Her situation is also complicated by the fact that she is a very wealthy celebrity, a manic person with that level of wealth and power can do some incredibly damaging things.
As far as touring and all that, the mentally ill aren't vegetables, yes they can do all of those things. Hell, artists do it while high as hell all the time. It's possible that the issue is that she has issues with remaining med compliant, and she is unable to keep herself safe when off meds since her judgement is so impaired. Like I said... this is not uncommon, and we don't have all the details. But from experience I can make a few educated guesses.
My last two kittens were found at two weeks old with their three siblings after they had been abandoned behind a Kohl's. We bottle fed all of them and I kept two.

It was really good to see how harshly the woman was reprimanded after dumping those puppies. I do a lot of fostering and have rehomed over 200 dogs that have been rescued from situations that have been hard to stomach. Animal cruelty isn't taken seriously enough in Ireland and unfortunately many people get away with much worse over here. Keep doing what ye are doing Phil and team - great content!
