    FOR THE FACT CHECKERS... **Extract From Wiki!**
    In April 2022, the "Light Package" variant went on sale, which further reduced weight to 1,110 kg (2,447 lb).

      In the UK ? In the car you tested ?

    • @tomcorner0
      @tomcorner0 2 года назад +3

      The UK Circuit Pack is 1280kg. The GRMN Version is not available in the UK and they are 1260kg not 1110kg! Also they’re not 33k and you can’t buy one new as the order books are shut.

    • @thehairbarebunch1
      @thehairbarebunch1 2 года назад

      But that’s totally irrelevant. It’s not available to UK customers and they’re all sold out globally. You clearly know nothing about the subject matter, why pretend otherwise.

    To my mind 30 grand is an absolute bargain. The body is custom-made in the same factory they built the Lexus LFA and they hand-chose the builders from the best of the best in Toyota. The car takes ten times as long to build as the standard Yaris car, has 250 more weld points and 15mtrs more adhesive. compared to your nan's Yaris. The engine is hand-built. The rear suspension is double wishbone and the front discs are larger than those found on the new Supra. This is a car that was built as a rally car first then modified to become a road car -not the other way around. It is shorter than a 911 but has a longer wheelbase and it's slightly wider at the back than a 991 GT3. The wheels are forged alloy, the roof is carbon fibre, the door and bonnet skins are aluminium. The list goes on and on. There's nothing like it and probably there will nothing like it again. Mine's definitely a keeper. I adore the thing not just because it's an amazing car, but because of the passion that went into building it from the very Top man at Toyota (a race and rally enthusiast). Cheers

      @TomShorrock  2 года назад +3

      Cheers Darren! Some great knowledge thrown in there! My point in this video was to push what people think, £30k is a large sum of money and most people wouldn’t even give the Yaris GR a looking.
      I can safely say if I had the money I would have one myself! It’s by far the best hot hatch I’ve ever driven!

      Agree 100% with all Darren has said here. I waited nearly 18 months for mine and paid £33,500 with 0% finance to boot!! She's a keeper. Wider than a GT3?? Really???

    • @darrenprior6339
      @darrenprior6339 2 года назад +4

      @@NigelsModellingBench I should clarify that its rear track is wider than the GT3. The GT3's rear track is 1.557mm wide while the Yaris is 1.572mm wide. Again, the wheelbase of the Yaris is also much longer than the 911 but the Yaris is much shorter thanks to the lack of front and rear overhangs that the Porsche has. Fascinating car. Toyota's engineers certainly knew what they were doing when they screwed this thing together.

    • @NigelsModellingBench
      @NigelsModellingBench 2 года назад +2

      @@darrenprior6339 ah ok thanks Darren. I guess the overall width of the 911 will be wider then as track is normally measured over the distance between the tyre centres left to right. GT3 will have more meat than Yaris as it has wider tyres so that explains it. I really wish Track was measured old school, as in the distance over hub faces.

My 1st Homologation special, and my last car I think. I maybe 60, but this car makes me feel 16, stunning little car, inside and out, pocket rocket and definitely turns heads on the street.
