In the mid 1980’s I read a story on how CZ pistols are manufactured. To add to your story, not only are CZ pistols placed in a vise like structure but, they’re also sprayed continuously with oil. The oil spray assists with wearing in all contact points and washes away any metal from the wear in process. I was stationed in Berlin, FRG in the mid 80’s when I read that story. I had been a rifle and shotgun guy growing up and had just entered my early 20’s. I was legal to purchase handguns and began taking interest in them. A fellow soldier worked, part time, at the rod and gun club on post and excitedly told me about the CZ-75 pistols that had arrived. Never heard of them so I decided to have a look at one. It felt amazing in the hand and the price was $298. That was the price based on the current dollar to Deutchmark exchange rate. The only issue was that CZ’s weren’t able to be imported into the U.S. because they were made in a Communist country, I would have to be able to be the importer and apply to the ATF for permission to bring it into the States. At that time, it was my understanding that any CZ’s that were in the U.S. were imported through Canada and cost about $1,000. I didn’t have enough time time left, in Germany, to wait for approval so I passed on the purchase. I think back about owning one that wasn’t imported into the U.S. sans import marks on it. Fast forward to today. A little over 20 years ago I bought my first CZ. They weren’t very well known in the U.S. and I bought it for just over $300 NIB. I currently own six CZ’s, one being a Cajunized 97BD, and plan on adding more to my collection. Even today, people aren’t familiar with the brand and that surprises me. I own many handguns by different manufacturers but CZ is still my favorite. I always recommend owning at least one to anyone deciding to add a firearm to their collection.
I sold my SP01 Shadow just about a year ago....now guess why I'm watching this video. CZ is by far the best mass produced production handguns in the world. If you don't believe me, try one.
I was an early adopter of the P01. Mine has well over 8k rounds of all kinds down the pipe, I can’t remember the last malfunction, I think there have been two. No mods, and the trigger is smooth as a babies ass in both modes. Beats Glock ergos all day long.
7000 rounds through mine. It’s my EDC so I can’t modify it aside from sights and grips. It’s perfectly fine for defense shooting. For competition, it’s a little clunky with factory hammer and trigger, but I’m not allowed to alter it from factory configuration if I carry it.
Fanboy here, so glad that I found them before making the progression from cheap, to Sig, to Glock, to CZ. First pistol was a M&P Shield for EDC. Wife wanted to have a home defense gun and we rented a Glock19 but she wasn't happy with the muzzle flip. I did some research and found a SP-01 for her for home defense, while doing the research I wound up a fanboy. I managed to find a PCR for my EDC and am incredibly happy with the change. Having guns that are fun to fire makes it that much easier to make an excuse to go to the range. The M&P Shield was a great gun, but I didn't enjoy shooting it, having pretty much a piece of art that is reliable and in addition fun to shoot makes training on our tools much more enjoyable.

@Myles O'Peter Yeah, I saw a new Colt M4 for sale online for $1499 and there is no way I would purchase one of their current iterations at that price. As an Englishman I sometimes despair at the way you Americans have mangled our language, but "Toad-strangler" I love that and will use it next time there's heavy rain!
I bought a CZ-83 off some guy who never shot it and kept it in his car all day. Immediately, the gun ran with no hiccups. I have since cleaned the external rust off and nearly fully restored the pistol, it shines like my hair now. Even their rusty 80's milsurp .380 pistols run well. I've carried a variety of Glock and CZ pistols personally and professionally, even the ones that were poorly maintained or altogether abused still run well. I have no qualms trusting my life to either of those guns.
I agree. Most people change out the rubber grips but I actually really like the way the rubber grips feel. The only thing I did was change out those awful teeny sights that came stock with my P01. My blind ass just could not see them. But those "cheap" rubber grips... I love them.
I've been torn between a P-01 Omega and a Beretta 92X. There's still some Berettas available, due to them being $700. But the CZ was difficult to find before the covid19/race wars.
5 for 5 cz75 's that I've had they all were flawless from the box . I've added CGW springs and FP to my 5 to get DC trigger to 7/8 lbs. And SA pull to 3.5/ 4 lbs . The one I have now is the 75 p01 and I like it a little better than the 2 omega p01's . Nothing bad to say about CZ

Nice! I've got an OD Green P01 that I've internally polished and into which I've installed some MCARBO springs and CGW parts. It's terrific. DA 4lbs, SA 2 lbs. Have you tried a steel framed P01? The added weight and longer beaver tail make a pretty big difference in comfort and shootability. I recently found one at a decent price and man, it's a keeper.

Pat, if Remington had done that slide break in test, just like CZ did I wouldn't have went through 6 days of hell, working the slide back and forth to break it in. With that info you might have just created a new CZ fan.

Nomina have to argue I think there's 3 individuals I think CZ firearms are OK I don't think they're any better than a glock or any worse than the glock I don't think they're any better than a Smith and Wesson or any worse than a Smith and Wesson there's really no recoil mitigation because the Boer access as identicle they are a very well made firearm for the price but I would put my Beretta 92 up against A CZ any day of the week And before anybody says I just haven't shot one I've shot about 10 of them and I own a few they're decent guns they're very well built but they're not be magic unicorn that the world place things to be out As always I appreciate your videos they're very well done fantastic and look forward to the next one and remember complianceIs tyranny
I have 1 CZ pistol (P-07) and I absolutely love it. I plan on getting more. Thinking of selling off some of my other pistols to replace them with CZ pistols!!! 😍
The worst thing about my Cz 75 is I tend to race thru a magazine. It cycles so smooth and sweet you tend to just give it more and more faster and faster until it's spent... A 16 round magazine only last a few seconds, lucky my indoor range doesn't have a speed limit! Replace that polymer recoil rod with a steel or tungsten recoil rod and that minimal muzzle flip will just about go away... my 9mm pcr shoots softer than my wife's s&w 380ez. Another thing I noticed is my cz ejector leaves my spent brass in a neatly stacked pile. I've put 450+ a handful thru mine and not 1 cycle error despite feeding it random brass/Steel. It really likes the 70g Federal indoor rounds, it's like shooting a .22lr.
Multiple CZ's. I've got a couple of 75 SP-01's and just picked up my second P-01. I have already reached out to Dave at Cajun Gun Works to send this one in for the full treatment...
Almost negligable recoil. I got a notification that the OD green p01 I wanted was back in stock in two different stores, and they were sold out in a couple of days. I have been waiting for a long time to find one in that color. I have been wanting one for a few years now.

All CZ type handguns, both those made in the Czech Republic and those made outside, feel like pure secks in the hand.
Man, you aren’t wrong about CZ’s. The only non CZ firearm I own is a Masada Slim. Thankfully, it takes CZ75 magazines, so I always have plenty of mags for it. My PCR and P01 get the most trigger time. I love the green P01 you have, very cool color, and VERY hard to find 👍🏼 Thanks for the video!!!
Great video review, the P-01 has been an excellent side arm for me and truly has the best ergo's of any pistol. Glad to see another person delve into the perfection of CZ. If or when you get the chance, shoot the P-07, another fine CZ. Got one in South Georgia if you want to try it out....
My SP01 is my favorite 9mm CZ. I've got a P01, PCR and steel framed P01 as well. Next fave is the steel framed P01. Sorta depends if you're gonna carry it or not. An aluminum framed P01 or PCR might be best but a steel framed P01 would be terrific if you don't mind the weight. If it's gonna be a range and even beginner comp gun then SP01 all day. Much easier to shoot well than at least the aluminum framed P01 and PCR.
@@magnificus8581 I'd say so. It's a ton of fun to shoot and a lot less snappy than the lighter shorter P01. The ergos are a bit better too (longer beaver tail that's more comfortable). Do yourself a favor and polish the internals and install at least an MCarbo spring kit. It'll make a huge difference in trigger pull weights and how smooth the action is. And it's not hard to do with all the good how to videos out there.
I was going back reviewing CZ models and looking for P-01 Green finish. I have one and had forgotten it was a "D" model decocker. For some reason I was thinking it was just a manual safety. These aren't marked D on the slide like the full size guns are. Now looking for a steel framed model CZ of some sort.
I was never a big fan of the CZ, until I spent sometime with one during a class, it was rock solid dependable and without a hiccup. I was sold on it!
That's pretty much all it takes. 😁 Thanks for watching!

@@Cyotis p-07 is an excellent edc gun and suppresses very well with 147gr loads .
We'll see you next video!
Love CZ
😁😁
Thanks for this ,nice to see somebody out enjoying their gun. CZECH guns have always inspired me with their beauty and accuracy.
Nice. I do like them . Looking at the 75BD
i have a 75b omega tactical , shoots beautifully with or with out a suppressor , no problem hitting a 2/3 steel silhouette at 100 yards
CZ P 01 compact is my next purchase. Good video. Thanks
I have 1 CZ pistol (P-07) and I absolutely love it. I plan on getting more. Thinking of selling off some of my other pistols to replace them with CZ pistols!!! 😍
I've got a P07 too and love it.
if one is to sell a glock for the purpose of acquiring a CZ , this is acceptable !
GREAT firearm.
I'll agree with you on that!
I will consider it, thanks. Jim from Leesburg Virginia.
Hello Jim!
Thanks for the RUclips-friendly content.
Thanks for watching!
Love your content delivery. My first video of you and I’m hooked. Can’t wait to see more.
Btw, what holster do you use for your p-01?
Thanks a ton! That was the Fury Carry Solutions executive holster.
Just bought an od green p-01. Dream gun. Great vid
where in the heck do you find a green one?
Multiple CZ's. I've got a couple of 75 SP-01's and just picked up my second P-01. I have already reached out to Dave at Cajun Gun Works to send this one in for the full treatment...
Almost negligable recoil. I got a notification that the OD green p01 I wanted was back in stock in two different stores, and they were sold out in a couple of days. I have been waiting for a long time to find one in that color. I have been wanting one for a few years now.
All CZ type handguns, both those made in the Czech Republic and those made outside, feel like pure secks in the hand.
Should come with a warning, huh?
Love the green version of this
Just got me a P01 yesterday it’s wonderful
I think that practicing with the three dot sights gives better practical experience for military pistol qualifications.
In Eastern North Carolina we use a similar term; "Frog Strangler"
Often used here is "Gulley Worsher"🤣
I love my CZ so much that it’s the only DA/SA that I have not and won’t pass up. The other CZs I have are all fantastic and dependable
Nice!
Man, you aren’t wrong about CZ’s. The only non CZ firearm I own is a Masada Slim. Thankfully, it takes CZ75 magazines, so I always have plenty of mags for it. My PCR and P01 get the most trigger time. I love the green P01 you have, very cool color, and VERY hard to find 👍🏼
Thanks for the video!!!
I've sold a few guns... this being the only one I regret. But I got a p10c with the money, not a total loss.
Definitely not a total loss.
Now that is a nice pistol Pat, love the color too 👍
Thanks a ton, Raptor! Hope all is well!
Great video review, the P-01 has been an excellent side arm for me and truly has the best ergo's of any pistol. Glad to see another person delve into the perfection of CZ. If or when you get the chance, shoot the P-07, another fine CZ. Got one in South Georgia if you want to try it out....
Great vid RMG! CZ makes a good yeeter! Looks like you are working double u tube duty 💥💥💥
Double the Yeet, double the fun!
I carry a p10c, love my cousins p01 omega. Shoots well, I have to get one of my own.
A P10 is next on my list.
*OOOOOOH CZ!* Beautiful aluminum HAMMER, for when your mags run dry.
An ergonomically shaped club. 🤣🤣
CZ rifles are top notch, also. The M527 carbine is a very fine rifle!
Love my CZs!! Nice job
Thanks!
Toad strangler?! Lol, love it! Great review, a CZ is my next pistol, still deciding between the SP-01 or the compact P-01
Toad Stranglers are very real. Check weather radar- I'm sitting in one right now!
@@SEAKPhotog thank you for the feedback, that is very helpful! Want a range gun, so the SP01 seems the best choice!
Support!
Magic!
The Po1 has slightly closer tolerance to closeness to fit. Because the (ZC} moved to a CN processing..
My first cz 527 MTR .223
Then 75b, shadow 2, p01, pcr, 457, 97bd, and coach gun. Cannot choose a favorite.
We all know it's reliable and it shoots well we don't need native to tell us that. The important thing is how does it look in the holster on your hip
I need this in my life.
I believe that I'll agree with you.
yes you do , it is most enjoyable !
the OD green came in one week after picked up the black one
I have black P-01 w/ Cajun kit and OD Green w/Apex... both with LOK grips...keepers for sure... would like to add FDE version.
This one will probably get some CGW parts soon enough. 😁
Awesome channel.
Nice. Did you change the size yourself?
Great video! Great gun!!!
Thanks for watching!
Love my P-01 Omega.
Nice!
