I so want one of these, but the size and weight are close to the Beretta px4 compact carry, and I sold that. The Beretta was a fine handgun, but I just found it too big and clunky to carry here in SW Florida. Replaced it with a HK P30SK. I’ll have to look at a larger CZ for home defense.
Just bought my first one today. I’ve already ordered aluminum grips. Might replace the sights down the road. Can’t make a definitive judgement till I take it to the range. What a beautiful and comfortable pistol. I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

You can get a P01 for under 600bucks online pretty easily and in the shops at least in my area of the country they can be had for under 650 if you shop around. If you are paying 800 dollars for one you are getting fleeced
How hard to get this optic ready from the factory? I would buy this on the spot if I don't have to spend additional $$ to install red dot. Not everyone has 20/20 vision getting older.....
The differnces in CZ models are very subtle, especially with the 75 series. The P01 75 is an even deeper rabbit hole. CZ has made approximately 16 different P01 models. It starts with the standard P01 ( in this video) and extends to the P01 pro tek 2. The difference are subtle, but enough to drive anal retentive guys like me into buying them. I have 4 P01's and each of them are slightly different.
IMO you get a USP because they're cool and in the movies/video games. The P01 is more practical with nicer magazines and a significantly cheaper price, with more places available to get a slide milled.
My P-01 Omega is my favorite handgun, replaced the grips with some slim grips and feels perfect. Between my P-01, P-07 and a Walther 3.5" PDP-F you couldn't ask for a better line-up. If you've never shot a CZ SA-DA gun you missing out on some of the best pistols made. The problem is you can' hardly find a P-01 or any of the 75 Compacts. If you find a good used one, BUY IT.
Ive been looking for a new 9mm, my star has become unreliable. Shot the hell cat and sig p365, didn't like them. fella at the range put this in my hand and was in a 8in grouping rapid fire 10r... The trigger is butter! love it! 5'2 small hands
I almost bought a P-01 to be my EDC. I have carried a few CZ pistols, starting with the P10S, then the P10C (because my hands are big enough that quick mag changes in the -S are a challenge), then the P07. It took going to the DA/SA trigger in the P07 to make me tolerate carrying with one in the pipe. The Omega decocker is good, but not perfect for me, so I looked at the baby 75 series, including the P-01 and the PCR. It's almost like the P-01 and the PCR differ in just the dust cover--my PCR doesn't have the rail. The sights on the two as shipped to my local shop were slightly different, and I preferred the ones on my PCR, along with the decocker that is more ergonomically suited for me.
What practice I'm allowed to do at the range I use is limited, so I tend to practice at ten yards rather than at seven. My reasoning is that if I can hit targets farther away that appear smaller compared to closer that appear larger, my odds in a defensive encounter improve a little bit. Of the several pistols I've used for the drills I've worked at doing somewhat well, I do best with my PCR. My P-07 is third, after my P--09, which has the advantage of having a red dot sight--it's my home-defense pistol because it's DA/SA, 19+1, has a red dot sight, and has a weapon light.

I have the P-01...airgun, and, although it is not the most well-made airgun pistol I have, the firearm one would be my definite carry gun, if I were lucky to live in the States. Nothing compares to the feeling of holding it, it becomes one with your hand and the rubber grips add to that; I do not understand why people do not like them and prefer slippery and cold metal grips. The double action is something I would also want for my carry gun, for safety and a sense of engaging with all the mechanic movements that lead to the shot. Very pleasant to look at with perfect proportions and rounded in the right places. Excellent

I purchased mine a couple days ago for 500. It was in the used case but it had never been fired. I used to never carry with one in the chamber because I train to rack a shell while drawing from the holster. But with the double action and de-cocker on the p-01 I’ve been carrying loaded. The only issue I have with it is the slide is skinny and hard to rack new. But the slide sits in the frame and not on the frame so the clearances on it are super tight making it a tack driver!

Hammer down? How do you place the hammer down all the way safely? One slip and the pistol will fire. Similar to a 1911. Maybe you should have mentioned the “decocker” that places the hammer in about a half cocked position to be carried safely place the hammer in that position correctly. Of course you can put the 1911 and the cz fully down but that would mean the firing pin is where ? Probably protruding out of the hole and resting where on the cartridge? Primer maybe ?
