A SCD (striker control device), shield arms 15 round mag, and a Trijicon RMRcc, and a super slick Kydex holster. Even with the SCD, I carried it strong side. Not having a striker fired gun pointed at my junk. No thanks. Bone stock, the P-01 is awesome. The P01 is accurate based on its balance, mechanisms, and return to 0 when held and fired correctly. Allowing for a repeatable return of accuracy per a human performing proper control. Anyone shooting paper with their hands and claiming to be able to determine accuracy of the firearm is a contradictive and completely improper experiment to which no valid result can be determined as it is subjective and an uncontrolled environment/variables. To test the theory of the actual accuracy of the barrel itself, it would need to be on a vice, and either fired by an mechanism (inducing 0 human error in trigger pull), or so viced down its impossible. Does that answer your question?
Food for thought. So if you like this gun what I have done and I love it. I bought the tactical version with the flatter trigger. Cajun gun works Short reset, I also put a tungsten rod in it and changed the springs in it and then it's decocker only. There's no safety and it's amazing. Very cheat code. I love it. I started out shooting a Beretta and when I bought a CZ 75B I sold the Beretta. Then I bought a CZ PO1 and it was my everyday carry. They are the best out there.
I own several compact size pistols and I thought that the M&P 2.0c was my absolute favorite compact due to its light recoil and how flat it shoots, that is until I finally got the CZ P01. It is an absolute tack driver and I can easily hit 100 yards with it.
Harder and harder to find, and more and more people are keeping them once they do! Congrats my friend! That’s a great choice! Cajunized everything CZ 👌
nice review dude. i have a p10s for daily carry, but i also want a po1 compact for carry and home defense. i love the double action/single action concept with a decocker. for some reason tho i was more accurate with the p10 series at the range so thats why i chose the p10 over the p01. i was also considering the p07. hopefully ill have them all before too long!
They are addictive! Can’t just have one. I have all the ones you mentioned and just added P10F & Shadow2 Compact! Pick them up this weekend. 6 CZ’s and more to come!
I have a CZ Irange, competition weapon. I find it fabulous and desirable and great, but it is a little heavy to Cohen carry.. So I’m tossed between getting a CZ P01 and a CZ PCR with the same attributes…. For rotational CWC with my SIG’s. Thank you What would be your suggestion?
They did not hold up well to testing. The pin design wasn’t going to work for longevity so we went with a different design entirely that’s dropping very soon. They look great, but they didn’t work as well as they look.
Not available, it’s a one off prototype shadow 2 basepad (cross compatible) that never hit market. You didn’t miss it! I didn’t cover it for that reason, but made for a great thumbnail!
Just came across your video on the CZ P01 awesome awesome awesome video I have the P01 I just got it love it am dying to put a red dot on it have to get it cut but $ is tight and I'll just have to deal with it for now but just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your video you've got a new subscriber in me Thanks
Hey man thank you so much for sharing and thank you so much for watching and subscribing! I have been a little behind on reviews as I haven’t gotten any new ones recently but, I do have some coming up and will be posting more and more leading into Christmas!
Did a CGW Pro Package and mag brake mod, finding extra mags is a pain now everything is OOS, good review. BTW I am a lefty and have no problem with the decocker
about five years ago my girlfriend just picked up a Glock 19 and I bought a P07. I had her shoot my P07. But I really wanted that P01 Omega. It took me forever to find one locally and someone bought it out from under me. ..... it was my girlfriend. WTF. But, luckily, I quickly found another and now we carry matching P01 omegas...(except mine has aftermarket grips, hers are factory)
Hey Alexander, I have the PO-7,crisp trigger, controlled recoil and a very handy handgun.I am considering on buying the PO-1,and i would like a recommendation from you on whether buying the PO-1 or keeping the PO-7. Thanks!
I don’t believe you should get rid of one for the other. rather have both. But if you can only have one, my opinion is irrelevant. It comes down to iwhich one works better for you, and suits your needs!
And another Cz angel got its wings… so many have had the same response, don’t feel bad at allllll lol! So could a staccato cs shoot just as flat, probably but most of us don’t have 2.3k to blow on a pistol, now 600 and tune and tweak when you got the extra bucks.. everyone is biased and yup I’m a CZ fanboy for sure
That’s interesting you found the 147 snappier than 124. It’s always been the other way around for me. I also found that 147 is more forgiving with a less than perfect grip for me. Do you plan on milling it for a dot?
I’ve always found that with any polymer gun. But with compact steels and alloys my experience has been added whiplash. Where on a full size metal frame, I notice less! But none the less in polymers I find the 147 to be king in most.
@@ATexCate I have a full size CZ S2 and also an S2C. I noticed the same thing. With the S2, the heavier bullets seem to shoot flatter and feel softer. with the S2C, I find lighter bullets have less muzzle rise.Try 115's versus 124Gr in your P01 and see if the 115's feel even better. I'd be interested to know.
I have never heard a soul say that so. not sure. I own many, and put over 20k rounds a year on my CZ's. I dry fire mine EVERY SINGLE DAY. and have never experienced nor heard of what you're talking about. sounds like nonsense
People state it does. I don't use the extended firing pin in my carry/duty guns. Since this video I tried and tested and opted against. I recommend them for competition only. there's almost no reasonable benefit to an extended firing pin on a carry gun in my opinion. standard firing pin gets the job done reliably as is. (and I DO have extended pins in my competition CZ's).
@@Fin.mint. the weight of a DA pull has everything to do with the hammer spring in the grip! has less to do with the extended firing pin! the hammer spring will just determine how HARD that pin gets hit and how hard the DA pull is. lower the poundage on the hammer spring for a lighter DA pull. the pairing of the two is meant for a light hammer spring with an extended firing pin: result is a very light DA pull that hits the hammer a lot lighter, so the extended firing pin guarantees it travels far enough to strike the primer. if you drop the hammer spring to 11 you still don't need the extended pin. at that point it comes down to type of ammunition/primer used. Federals won't go off when a cci does for example.
Great vid. I love my PO1 and treated it well with some recommended upgrades, springs, sights, grips etc. I recently ran into an issue with the pistol not resetting in the double action position. No I am considering putting all the old springs back in. Any thoughts?
Are you saying it doesn’t reset after the first trigger pull? As in pulls double action, then nothing? I’m confused because the double action doesn’t reset after the first shot, it’s all single after that. If you’re shooting soft ammunition and a high Lb spring it may not be cycling all the way either. I think your only issue here is possibly just your recoil spring may be too heavy for your ammunition. What ammo/spring are you using.
Do you have an aftermarket trigger? Dual adjustable with the set screws in it? If so the set screw may have walked. Outside that I’m not exactly sure I’d have to look at it myself honestly.
Yes I replaced the original trigger with a CGW trigger. I didn't even consider that, thanks, I will let you know if that helps and thank you for your responses whether it does or not. The original trigger had a bite to it and the CGW trigger made a huge difference so I am glad I did it so I hope that works, thanks again for your time. @@ATexCate
I noticed you appendix carry,🤔 what was the holster you were using? Just the other night I came home with a 75d compact PCR. I appendix carry a lot and I have a 1791 gun leather owb and that fits great. Let me know thank you. Great video 👍
Yessir I do! All of my appendix carry holsters are from Strike80Holster! Been running his holsters for over 4 years! Have never had one break or crack, and is just as comfortable as any other holster I’ve tried! Code: SHOOTERMCGAVIN
I have yet to get my hands on one of those outside of just fondling one! I will definitely add that to the list of prospected future reviews so I can find out! I’ve heard a lot of great things!
100 times to 1. this. The 43 is garbage, Absolute garbage in my opinion especially in comparison to what else is out there. Unless you have a significantly practiced skill of shooting guns that small, and the 43 is the worst of them in recoil impulse, and a horrible trigger in comparison. I’ve had more than 5 people this past year who showed up to train with a 43. Sucked so bad with it I took it away. And gave them ANYTHING else. And they went from nothing on paper at 7 yards. To dead nuts. All 5 of them. 2 of them went from that to my P01 and got the upper result. I personally hate the 43 in the hands of anyone who isn’t an intermediate to advanced shooter who’s willing to put stupid time into practicing with an unnecessarily hard hitting micro like that. Too many new shooters out there with them, who will never train with it because it’s no fun to shoot, and they can’t hit anything with it. So p01.
CZs are imported in "batches" only a couple times each year. Try to grab one when first available. It took me three years to obtain my six CZ handguns.
Maybe someone knows what? The trigger kits are cross compatible if that’s what you’re curious about. But I don’t know what you mean by “lighter bolt”. Do you mean you want a lighter recoil spring?
I just bought my P-01 and Im able to pick it up today. But I only have one problem and Im feeling some kind of way about buying it. Why and if so can anyone tell me if we can get somehow a Ambi decocker on it. Im a lefty and thats my only issue. So far all vids Ive seen say No it cant be done. If thats true then yeah im not happy. But they look great.
You’re going to have to use your right hand thumb to flip the decocker. There is no ambi replacement that I have ever seen. This is why I always tell everyone and anyone don’t buy on looks unless you’re only going to look at it. ALWAYS put your hands on first if you can. And it will save you a lot of trouble to do your research first as a lefty. You have a much harder selection than the rest of us!
I'm glad you like it but I owned one for a while and didn't have the best experience, the trigger on mine tended towards 12lbs/high 8lbs+ and in both da and sa stacks in 2 to 3 stages with a gritty inconsistent break, I want to say at least they're reliable but I cant even give them THAT. YMMV but my pre-covid model had the firing pin break shortly after 200 rounds. it has a "good" after market but not having three quarters of an inch of slop or an eighth of an inch of trigger wall that breaks at ??? point or a firing pin retaining pin that doesn't peen until it's broken or a brittle steel trigger spring that could snap or become damaged if you breathe on it funny should be things you get from the factory especially for $500-$650, I couldn't even get the thing to group tighter than 6 inches at 7 yards - so much for flat and precise lol lmao even - even with a heavier recoil spring to dampen the factory snappiness and a full trigger, hammer, and sear job. I was taken aback when shooting it for the first time and it was snapping harder than my subcompact walther ppsm2
Yeah like I said the trigger is garbage I do agree. Another viewer whose comment I pinned also explained a little more in depth why. But that’s what sealed the deal for me on calling it time to switch it up. Mine wasn’t as bad of an experience as yours thankfully but I also have made it past 5k rounds between shooting it in training, and even at a handful of 2 gun, IDPA, indoor leagues, and SCSA matches over the years. Nothing has broken on me thankfully. Mine is definitely accurate. I am also used to it. Sounds like you got unlucky with a bad egg for sure!
I would love those grips, if they were OD Green. What the hell is this fashion of making your guns incredibly visible when they are meant to be concealed. P01 and PCR are my Daily Carries if I am not concealing my 10mm Grand Power P40.
I shoot for LokGrips. And a concealed firearms should not be seen anyway in any matter. That is why you choose your apparel accordingly. And Dont wear a crop top right! I carry AIWB. Nobody will ever see the orange unless you’re showing me a barrel of your own pointed in my direction. Even then, my hands cover it. I am a licensed CPL instructor and although many do it, I am heavily against and teach in my opinion against any sort of open carry anyway, for exactly what you’re saying as it is. Nobody needs to see it. But we can allll have our opinions right! Tomato tomato! My competition guns have all gold and brass grips! Because that’s what I like. And Lok makes the best grips in my opinion, while fortunately! I get to shoot for and work directly with them. As they corner the market with their options with these particular models, I found it fitting to swap the stock rubber grips with a nice set of aluminum brass palmswell Gridloks!
You Have no idea how incredibly hard this video is making me. No Diddy. When you pull it out with that orange and that black that is sexy as hell. I also love these pistols.
It’s very frustrating that this company can not keep up with the demand. They are Sold Out Everywhere. It makes me think that as a company not keeping up production with demand is a huge red flag 🚩 for future growth and sustainability. Just a thought.

Heya, have you had any problems with the P01 since the making of the vid? Considering on buying it fo sho.
Absolutely 0. And I have even competed with it in carry matches.
My biggest complaint with my p01 is the factory mags it comes with with that glorious pinkie extension are unobtainium
Yeah I had to rid of that pretty much immediately.. shadow 2 base pads work. I run Lok and Henning.
I have a CZ Irange, competition weapon. I find it fabulous and desirable and great, but it is a little heavy to Cohen carry..
So I’m tossed between getting a CZ P01 and a CZ PCR with the same attributes…. For rotational CWC with my SIG’s.
Thank you
What would be your suggestion?
Is this much different from the CZ 75 compact without the decocker? Thats why I have. Shoots pretty nice.
Not really no besides the safety instead of decocker honestly. they are very very similar. Almost like same car but different trim on the outside.
The biggest difference is weight with the steel frame 75 Compact being 5 oz more than the alloy frame P01 (and PCR).
Where is the mag/baseplate from?
Edit: never mind, I found a reply to this question. Sad this won't see market. Those are the best plates I've seen
They did not hold up well to testing. The pin design wasn’t going to work for longevity so we went with a different design entirely that’s dropping very soon. They look great, but they didn’t work as well as they look.
@@ATexCate very exciting. Gonna follow so I can stay up to date. Great video!
My P01 is stock except for the sights. I love it!!!
Even STOCK its amazing AS IS!
@@ATexCate Agreed!
Maybe I missed it, but what mag extensions were those?
Not available, it’s a one off prototype shadow 2 basepad (cross compatible) that never hit market. You didn’t miss it! I didn’t cover it for that reason, but made for a great thumbnail!
I dont have the p01 but love my c75 SP-01 tactical. She is a joy to shoot.
Can’t go wrong with any CZ!
S2C entered the chat
S2C review just got posted about 2 weeks ago 😎 check it out
It's Flat now, it would be even flatter if you add the DPM Spring to it
I’ll have to check it out!
Yes, what you said: It's that good. A perfect firearm does not make a perfect shooter; that takes practice and good teachers.
100%
What magazine/extension were you using?
One off unfortunately, they were a prototype that never went to market because machine time was too high.
Quick question though. Who makes that base pad for your mags??
One-off prototypes, not available for sale! Sorry my friend! They match the grips perfectly so I used them for the video!
Every pistol shooter should get a CZ 75 variant, even if it's just for the range. They're bad ass.
Amen
What was that orange mag you had in it while shooting?
A 1 off baseplate on a stock magazine and follower that will never see the market unfortunately.
about five years ago my girlfriend just picked up a Glock 19 and I bought a P07.
That’s hilarious! Glad you ended up
Finding one though!
I highly recommend the Cajun Gun Works Pro Carry Package! If you like it now you won't believe what the boys at Cajun Gun Works can do to that pistol!
Already done. All my CZ’s are Cajunized! Everything from my competition Shadow 2’s to my carry P01.
Great review Alex!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this firearm, thanks for sharing
thanks for watching!
That grip looks really cool.
Lokgrips Gridlok! (code: TEX10)
I definitely love them!
I just got those same grips in brass, feels amazing!
Yes sir! i used the brass for competition for a long time! now i use the new brass Lok Jaws!
What mag extension do you have the the thumbnail?
Unfortunately, They are 1 off prototypes I tested for a company. They decided to not run with the design due to excess in machine time.
What mag base plate is that?
One off. Not available to the open market.
@@gair1944it’s the same story with my DWX too.
But with my 509c for example (polymer frame) it HATES 115/124. And LOVES 147
OWN 2 CZ PO7 AND 75 D PCR QUESTION ?? WHAT IS ALL THE TALK ABOUT FIRING PIN BLOCK AND DRY FIRING ISSUSES ??
I have never heard a soul say that so. not sure. I own many, and put over 20k rounds a year on my CZ's. I dry fire mine EVERY SINGLE DAY. and have never experienced nor heard of what you're talking about. sounds like nonsense
Would the firing pin block keep it drop safe with the CGW extended firing pin?
People state it does. I don't use the extended firing pin in my carry/duty guns. Since this video I tried and tested and opted against. I recommend them for competition only. there's almost no reasonable benefit to an extended firing pin on a carry gun in my opinion. standard firing pin gets the job done reliably as is. (and I DO have extended pins in my competition CZ's).
@@ATexCate The main reason I would be interested is to lower the DA pull to that of a standard striker fired pull weight. 5.5 - 6lbs would be ideal
@@Fin.mint. the weight of a DA pull has everything to do with the hammer spring in the grip! has less to do with the extended firing pin!
the hammer spring will just determine how HARD that pin gets hit and how hard the DA pull is. lower the poundage on the hammer spring for a lighter DA pull. the pairing of the two is meant for a light hammer spring with an extended firing pin: result is a very light DA pull that hits the hammer a lot lighter, so the extended firing pin guarantees it travels far enough to strike the primer. if you drop the hammer spring to 11 you still don't need the extended pin. at that point it comes down to type of ammunition/primer used. Federals won't go off when a cci does for example.
@@ATexCate Yes, and I intend to lower the hammer spring weight thus my interest in the extended firing pin being drop safe.
@@Fin.mint. at that point it will not be drop safe that is what im telling you.
I put a trigger kit from MCarbo on both CZ’s and cut trigger pull to 5lbs da.
What mag basepad and mag springs were you running in your range footage? Thanks.
Black were stock basepads. Orange is a prototype basepad from an undisclosed company that won’t ever see the market.
Followers/springs were stock.
Ya, that base plate looked amazing! Would love to put a couple on my P-01 mag’s. Thanks for the video.
Yes, sorry, I typed that backwards. It wont reset for the lighter / shorter trigger pull after the initial heavy / longer trigger pull. @@ATexCate
@@ATexCate
yup so the lower set screw is your over travel adjustment. that screw is likely in too deep and needs to be adjusted! @@drewevans6908
Your response is priceless. Thank you. 😂
Glad you enjoyed it 😂
Is this version aluminum frame or all steel one?
Aluminum 7075 T6!
Thank you for the video! How does this firearm compare with the HK P30SK?
I have yet to get my hands on one of those outside of just fondling one! I will definitely add that to the list of prospected future reviews so I can find out!
I’ve heard a lot of great things!
This or a 43x mos for conceal carry?
So p01.
@@ATexCate good to know thank you. I’m looking for a future concealed carry and the p01 is gonna be on the top of that list
Where to find one, no one has them in stock nation wide
They’re around local shops. That’s usually where you’ll find the hard to find stuff.
CZs are imported in "batches" only a couple times each year. Try to grab one when first available. It took me three years to obtain my six CZ handguns.
I have a CZ 75 compact with a decocker. Beast
maybe someone knows? Shadow 2 upgrade kit fits Shadow 2 Compact especially interested in the spring for a lighter bolt
Maybe someone knows what? The trigger kits are cross compatible if that’s what you’re curious about. But I don’t know what you mean by “lighter bolt”. Do you mean you want a lighter recoil spring?
@@ATexCate yes recoil spring
Almost every weight from 8lb to 18lb is available!
But fhe recoil springs would not be the same I would assume.
What base pads are those ?
Prototype One Off’s unfortunately
Their nice 👍🏼
I Love Mine!
Yea... I'm gonna buy one.
Very informative video
Glad you enjoyed it!
i have the omega trigger in the p09 that i carry love the trigger.. id take the sp01 as the cheap mans shadow 2 compact lol
Wasn’t going to buy another CZ BUTTTTTTT
im in love with it!
CZ is the only gun to buy
Ive got to try those grips
they're phenomenal. Have them on my competition guns as well.
Some might ask "Who the hell buys a Grand Power:?!?!
Just picked one up and let me say it is impressive.
couldnt agree more!

Discontinued, but they’re out there. replaced in production with the new shadow 2 compact.
It’s very frustrating that this company can not keep up with the demand. They are Sold Out Everywhere. It makes me think that as a company not keeping up production with demand is a huge red flag 🚩 for future growth and sustainability. Just a thought.
