Definitely turn the chair into a garden chair. It's perfect for that! Just because it's old doesn't mean it's valuable. As for being worried about lead paint...don't. It's just been stained and varnished and at some point the chair has come apart and someone has done a very sloppy job of gluing the joints back together. Have some fun with it and turn it into a conversation piece.
I LOVE the garden chair idea! Everything looks so good. Your hard work has really paid off. I also love that you keep moving things around and trying out different planting arrangements. I always want to move and adjust things and my husband thinks once something is planted that’s it, it’s there forever 🙄 so I showed him “see it’s a thing, you can move around your plants I’m not crazy”.
I feel ya! Start moving it yourself and then complain that one's helping you with your vision, he might help you. SO what if he will be complaining about it for a minute. It'll be done in the end. Ask for forgiveness, not permission 😁❤️
I'm so glad your garden is doing well! Gardens are so so important for our environment, and I feel like they're one of the few ways we as individuals can have a huge positive impact on nature. The more flowers and plants we grow, the more we help out bees who need those flowers to thrive. Everything looks so beautiful!

For the chair, I recently saw someone made it into a little bird feeder/bird pool area! They just put a deeper tray inside with a mini-fountain on top and it looked so cute! You do have a fountain already tho, so maybe the plants idea is a better option. All love 🧸😊

Please pardon me for giving unsolicited advice... I just wanted to mention that those trees are probably anchoring all the soil on your hill, so be careful after removing them. Leaving the stumps and roots in place while the new shrubs establish might help prevent landsliding when it rains, but definitely research it to make sure, lol.

I think that antique chair would be very nice made into a planter and put on your front porch, so that it is protected from the elements. Even if you coat the wood, with enough time, sun and moisture, the wood will totally rot and it won't look so good anymore. Have fun with fixing up your homestead!

I would try to research that chair if it’s actually from the 1700’s. If it’s not really worth anything I would plant ivy in it to cover the glue. Love garden time with you❤
LOVE THE CHAIR. I think it would make a lovely garden piece. You already know and stated a couple of times that you don't want it to go in your house, so trust yourself. Plus if the likeness of a master of a house was carved into the chair, I'm betting that there is a spiritual association with that object, and I think it would be delightful to honor that chair by giving it a beautiful spot in your garden with some gorgeous flowers pouring out of it.
Awww, you and Mila standing together by the table while she takes out the sunflower seeds is so cute, she's your little twin! It's interesting to see how much she has your mannerisms and facial expressions. Also super jealous of your garden arch with all the little lights. It looks so peaceful out there. The chair is so cool, I think you should leave it the color it is and just clear coat to protect it. It would make a super cool planter or maybe a small fountain or bird bath?

Thank you for sharing your garden progress! It's so relaxing! Gardening takes a lot of patience. I love the idea of the garden chair. Knock out roses are my absolute favorite. They grow like a bush and have tons of flowers. Not sure if they would grow well in your climate but they do great in droughts. Mila is just so cute!
I love hearing how you decorate for fall and seeing everything, so pretty! I do the exact same thing as you! I decorated for fall, then added Halloween on Oct 1, and will take Halloween away and leave the fall up until Christmas time. Fun little traditions 🧡🎃

Yes looking for this comment! Twice a day watering is a quick trip to root rot which will mean that the plant will never get nutrients.
