- In the last few years, there have been many different colours of Super Saiyan showing up! From Super Saiyan God to Super Saiyan Rose, it's all there. However, I and a fan of mine have potentially found a theory that might explain these hair colours as well as predicting future transformations. Let's discuss Super Saiyan Colour Theory including how relevant it might to the new God of Destruction Vegeta and Vegeta New Form! #supersaiyan #theory

To be fair, every other case of saiyan hybrids in the canon has had BOTH PARENTS be black haired, lol. Not really many other colors to inherit at that point.

Humans have lots of hair colors to be born with, and darker colors are dominant over the light ones, but larger varieties are also dominant over smaller ones, so even if black hair is dominant over blue/purple, if black is the only option, then the choice of blue, brown, purple, or even blonde is still dominant because 4 is more than 1

This is actually a great observation. It does fit pretty well. Whether it was intended or not, I actually kind of like this idea as a hidden lore for the series.
It justifies lazy pallete swaps that's for damn sure. I can respect the symbolism behind the recolored forms.

Well then Super Saiyan 4 actually works quite well, the fur is red since the quote you read has "Primitive power" in the first chakara, Goku even says he doesn't have as much control in that form. Plus the Black hair denotes malice.

I don't think SSBE has much of a connection to the chart in this video. Simply just the full power version of SSB.
As an artist, I can clue you in on the real meaning behind the colors:
Black - "Black is super useful in breaking up character designs, and most people have black hair. Eh... they all have black hair. Fuck it."
Yellow - "Ugh, I don't want to waste time shading in hair anymore."
Red - "Gonna do a new form... blue is a bit too soft looking. Ain't doin' green... red is okay. It looks threatening and strong."
Blue - "I'm running out of these colors. White? No, I'm going to use that for that Zamasu design... Purple and Green are too weird. I guess blue is fine."
Pink - "Well, he's a god, so he wouldn't look the same as they do. And he's so sassy and obsessed with beauty. I could make it red again, since Goku looked like that when he got god ki. No... Oh! I'll just make it pink."
Black again - "This is getting out of hand. I'll just let everyone else handle most of this. Hey guys, just roll back to black hair! Everything is ki types now! I'm going to bed."
But seriously, all this is fan jargon. The real reason has nothing to do with ki or referencing Buddhism. It's just really basic art theory mixed with marketing and laziness. Everything else is just a post rationalization to explain it.

Looking back this video perfectly explains how Kale was able to master Super Saiyan Beserk, because the heart chakra is fuelled by love and it was Kale's friendship with Caulifla that led her to getting power under control (btw Kale's hair got noticeably greener when that happened.)

Really Purple has been used anywhere from mysterious to powerful in Dragon Ball.
Purple in Japanese colour theory denotes ominous or evil intentions. This is why the purple ゴゴゴ in JoJo, Sasuke's Susanoo and curse mark in Naruto and the ki attacks of many of Dragon Ball's villains are purple, pink or reddish pink.

I figure Vegeta's new form at the end of DBS, the Super Saiyan Blue Evolution, would land somewhere between the blue and indigo chakras. It makes sense, since the indigo represents imagination, and we have no idea what that form's limits are, but it's also still rooted in blue, as an evolution of SSGSS. I get that the colors of SSGSS and SSGSSE are iffy, and the deep cerulean hue of the latter used to belong to the former, which is now more turquoise, but maybe that's just a ret-con.

Fast forward 5 years and Haverok is no longer just a member of Masako's discord but to basically his number 1 partner. You 2 do great work together I must say lol.
When I saw the deals with love blocked by grief thing I thought of that Guru from Avatar. “CHAKRAS, CHAKRAS”
as much as I support your analysis of Super Saiyan God (Red) I think it has more to do with the colors of their auras that affects their inevitable hair color. Most of the other characters ki was white or colorless, indicating use of raw universal power with no particular meaning or stance, it was just pure ki. Kaio-Ken the first colored aura, is red because it was the root of Goku's journey to higher power. with this in mind it makes his red form in Super Saiyan God make much more sense. it was the beginning, the literal root of his power. Once the super saiyan form has been unlocked their aura turns exclusively yellow, showing that is the source of that power. Ultimate Gohan seems to be an exception as his aura goes back to a silver/white indicating that he is using a different type of ki not related to the chakras, or it could be a combination of all as white is the presence of all colors in the spectrum. Also look at Beerus and Champa's aura, it's purple/violet indicating that they themselves despite being divine are not yet perfect. The point is the hair color is affected by the aura of the chakra that has been tapped in to, not the other way around.

To some extent maybe but at the same time this is so ingrained into Japanese culture and honestly the whole aspect of ki in general is so involved with these concepts that information like this can give insight on why this sort of thing might come to mind for him because even lazy thoughts often have a source, consciously or subconsciously.

Mastered to a point of being usable. Remember that all the way back in the Saiyan saga of DBZ Goku was exhausted using just the 2x and the 3x and 4x combined into the Super Kamehameha effectively crippled him for the remainder of the fight. But then in the fight between the two universes, he was able to push the kaioken MUCH further, though due to the lack of experience in that level, Goku again ended up crippled and for even longer this time. I expect that the same with his initial experience with becoming a Super Saiyan God increasing his base power level even after the transformation had expired would be very much the same; after using the Super Saiyan Blue and the Kaioken at the same time to the extent he did, I imagine that made the lower levels of the combination much less significantly straining on his body.

Finally there is a video that mentions chakras, I've mentioned to my friends and seen it one or two times on the internet, but every time a youtuber says "I'VE SOLVED IT" never mentions it, mostly because it has little to none research

Here's what I think, based on speculation alone. I think Goku will need to achieve the color purple because it seems that all the Gods of Destruction have that as their aura color. When they do the "Hakai" move it is especially obvious. Being that it seems all the GoD's have it, for Goku to level up he will need that aura. If you think of his max now: SSB + Kaioken, it sort of makes sense. If you blend Red + Blue together I believe you get purple. So his max or unleashed/limit break power may be a purplish form blending those two. It may also be a more "relaxed Kaioken" form, sort of like his relaxed Super Saiyan form after the hyperbolic time chamber. If he achieves that aura he may indeed be on par with the GoD's and beat everyone in the tournament. So yes, I think you're right, we may see a "Super Saiyan Purple" in the future :-)

+MasakoX My addition to your theory is that the 2nd chakra is in fact, the Super Saiyan 2 form and I can prove it. First and foremost, there is a distinction between the regular SS1 and SS2. SS1 is Yellow and SS2 is actually Orange.
What does the 2nd chakra stand for? Feeling, creativity and social connections. When it is blocked, the person feels shame, insecurity and self - doubt.
Now, which DBZ character first reaches this form? Gohan! Gohan in DBZ is characterized by a feeling of inferiority, he doubts himself constantly because everyone is stronger than him.
It is important to also remember what Android 16 said to him before being destroyed by Cell: "You are gentle, you do not like to hurt, I know how it is Gohan, because I too have learned this feelings. But it is because you cherish life that you must protect it". And that causes Gohan to unblock the SS2 form, which it can be translated as unblocking the 2nd chakra.
Even in the final fight between Gohan and Cell, with the two Kamehameha waves scene, we can see that the self - doubt of Gohan is actually reducing his full potential and Goku is helping him unleash it by saying to him not to doubt himself.
Now what about the SS3 form? Maybe it is an overactive 2nd or 3rd chakra since it drains the person who uses it very fast, I don't know . . .
While this is an awesome concept of thinking about the Super Saiyan Transformations, I think if there were to be new transformations it wouldn't/shouldn't be a "Super Saiyan" transformation and rather some other method of power-up. Super Saiyan Blue is supposed to be the form where you have perfect Ki control, meaning you don't waste any Ki. Therefore, I don't think there would be a point for any other transformation if you could basically control how much power release when you attack.

For some of the people that are wondering in the movie "Fusion Reborn" (At least I believe that was the movie) when Goku used Kaioken in Super Saiyan form, the movie isn't canon. So the theory Masako was talking about, how Goku can't use Kaioken in Super Saiyan because "Rage on Rage" makes no sense still stands. :D
I must say, I wasn't 100% sure about this theory when I first started this video but after watching it and hearing your explanation, I'm impressed and intrigued. You make a lot of sense and I look forward to seeing if Toriyama comes out with a purple hued Saiyan form to further prove your theory. Good job!

I got to give props to you, Masako; this was a very well-done video. And as someone who loves this stuff with the Chakra, you explained it very well. Overall, I do love the different colors and states of Super Saiyan, but at the same time; I do miss Kaioken. I always thought that visually was one of the coolest power-ups in the series. I'm glad it got back in Super. As for other colors, Green is my favorite, hence why I do love Kale's design.

If you think about it, this works well with the base form auras of humans and saiyans too. Their auras are white, which encompasses all colours of light. They're not letting any particular chakra or aura dominate, which is the most efficient but weakest state.
The Root chakra also fits well with the Kaioken. I wonder, if that's the case could it be Kaioken is unlocking the Root chakra improperly and higher boosts can destroy the body because it's a forced opening rather than natural?

Ohhh this makes so much sense. This video makes the transformations seem much more interesting than the spontaneous new colours. I would be so much more hyped about a transformation if a sort of scale were introduced by Whis to know that yes this is amazing but this is what it means and it isn't as high as you could be.
Now that I think of it could Super Saiyan 3 be the Orange/Saccral Chakra? Anytime someone on screen has taken the form they are immensely level-headed to the point of teaching others about the form itself mid-battle. And dang, now I'm curious to see how Instinct fits into this!

One thing to go with the impure Anahata based Legendary/Berserker Super Saiyan forms, as well as how Broly (as I've not seen Super) can continuously increase his power, well what if the Anahata impurity based form actually puts the body under intense stress enough to put it to the brink of death, whilst maintaining it at peak physical capability, thus meaning that as the battle goes on whilst someone is in this form, then they are continuously receiving Zenkai boosts, thus growing stronger and stronger
while there isnt an ssj orange, goku has been wearing the color orange the whole time "Orange increases and aids personal power, self-esteem and confidence. I find these recolors to be the stupidest transformation ever. People keep telling me its because toriyama likes simplicity but lets be real its just because he's lazy. Like I let it slide in BoGs. But then Resurrect F showed us how lazy these transformations are.
Better than turning into a hedgehog man with no eyebrows. Also this way goku still looks like goku instead of a different character every time he gets a new form. Leave those transformations for the less human looking characters like piccolo and hit.

I felt like Rose had a connection to the death motif myself. In Japan, the color pink, especially light pink, has a deep meaning in mortality. This is due to the falling of sakura petals, the blooming of sakura petals are short lived; not surprisingly, this has come to symbolize many transient things, especially life. Commonly, it is more symbolic of human mortality than other meanings of transience, soon it's become a trope in Japanese media to foreshadow one's death, to convey a life about to fall, and so on. The shorthand of it is, if you see that sakura pink, death is here, the end of mortality is upon you. In a few things, this has been played up, by having a grim reaper figure with such a theme, one that I can recall is Marluxia from Kingdom Hearts. Funny enough that Goku Black's final form for his energy blade was a scythe, a strong symbol of death as well. Pink also contains white, the color of death in Eastern culture, so there's that layer as well. It's funny how this symbolism is floral themed as well, to go deeper with the sakura side, there's specifically a belief that the blooming of sakura flowers signaled the graduation of a mountain deity into godhood, though, godhood of local rice paddies, but godhood nonetheless. They also symbolize a great change, the ending of a paradigm as a new one comes forth. Though, commonly, the celebration of sakura falling is to celebrate things like a new change in life, weddings are often held for instance, during these, as well as most major changes in life, a casting off of the past to welcome a brighter future. How this relates to Zamasu though, should be obvious, it is the sign of the end of mortal life, a new world order into an age more beautiful than the one before it, or so Zamasu believes. Probably another, maybe more series related reason as to why Rose is pink, I believe, is that it's kind of a form of Super Saiyan God, Zamasu already had God Ki, and apparently, a Saiyan body under tumultuous torrents of God Ki exhibits red hair. Either this implies it's somewhere between god Saiyan and something else, or Zamasu's nature skewed the hue of the God form. Finally, the name, I believe, is to cement Goku Black as Zamasu's new God of Destruction, at least in the sense of the role as the strong arm of God's will in this new world under Zamasu. Rose is a name for a wine made from grape skin, it has a delicate pink hue, and fits the alcohol motif of Gods of Destruction. With Rose, Goku Black truly becomes a God of Destruction in form and name.

I think that this means that Gohan has the powers to combine the powers of all the different colors.
Because you get black if you put all the visible colors together.
And his aura is white because that's the opposite of black. It's yin and yang. The perfect balance in power.

potencial released is a technique aquired by a ritual , not a natural saiyan transformation. gohan was better at that form because he had the best potential as he is a hybrid human and saiyan(and younger)
