@@sixfromtokyo The thing is Dragonball super is not writing by the original author but by a fan artist and you know how fan fiction are. It's just carricature of something that was already established.🤔
@@Ando1428 They wouldn't be of any use now unless for fleeing from a stronger opponent with a giant smoke curtain, and even then, the main cast are fighting above universal level threats that can just blow the whole planetary system if they try hiding. Invisibility on the other hand... Doubt it would work either, since original Dragon Ball stated that ki can do many busted things and grant super human abilities like telepathy, fly, paralyze, etc. The enemies just could focus very hard (or barely focus at all in this recent arcs 🙄) on the wind currents, air atoms/molecules, gravitational waves or any other BULLSHIT and find the protagonists.
I geniuinely believe that the writer's don't have the intelligence to write something clever in regards to tacticts and wits. The best they came up with was Goku's mines at the ToP and I like to believe a guy with 40+ years of deathmatch experience could come up with something better than that. There were so many mystical elements in dragonball that could be awesome for diversion tactics, but they chose to incorporate it way too late at the Moro arc.
@@Taco_Thiefyeah it was. It's how Gohan, Krillin, Vegeta maneuvered around Namek. And how Cell sneaked away to absorb people and get the drop on the Androids.
Thing is too it was great to have master roshi back in the main cast again but because of how God awful the power scaling is in super you couldn't even enjoy it without thinking how he's even there holding his own
Eh I don’t hate it that much since they actually pointed out how out gun he was. He had to use stuff to cheat out a victory like using the mafuba, which is closer to sealing than actual fighting. And the jiren part just highlighted how predicting opponents with senses can help you dodge attacks (something goku should’ve learned in db with popo, but hey flanderization and dbs isn’t new). Jiren was clearly not trying to execute the old man in that. But this could be because I’m biased against most of the characters in that arc and something that’s usually mid doesn’t look so bad by comparison
When Jiren at the ToP said: "I seek that which lies beyond strength" I finally thought that there finally was an adult script writer at Toei, but that statement never went anymore :/. Can you imagine my dissapointment when Jiren just turned out to be an edgelord?
And then just about everyone he fights afterwards (give or take a couple) are mortals who reached beyond that level of power all on their own. Makes it feel like Goku has to use Godly Hax just to keep up. I don't know why I said "feels like," when it's literally what they showed us. The era of Goku Lacking.
The problem with God Ki is that it succumbed to the weaknesses of Toriyama's writing and the faults with not planning stories ahead and the constant power scaling.
toriyama is so bad at writing he forgot the last chapter of Z existed that's a pretty big point to make. the end of Z is litterally 10 years after boo arc pan is 4 oob is like 10 at max more like 8 toriyama is a bad writter and people praising him for super or shit just forget for him dragonball ended several time but was forced to continue
@@antoinedenis9922the problem isn’t that toriyama’s a bad writer it’s that he continued on after the final chapter therefore retroactively making the ending shit. As a stand-alone thing end of Z is a good ending and should be treated as such
I personally like how crazy an amp SSG is, but I don’t think making him that strong in base works at all. It makes it completely absurd that any universe 6 Saiyans can ever remotely compare. It means Beerus would have been more satisfied fighting base Cabba than Battle of Gods Goku, and that is nonsense.
@@sixfromtokyoExactly. Initially when beerus was said to be weaker than he is now it was believable that he considered unstable ssg a challenge. Now it's laughable and confusing why he cared at all. This comparable to ss4 or ssb goku thirsting to fight end of dragon ball goku or beginning of z goku.
Fr, it just messes up the whole power scale system and now apparently with that info people are now thinking cabba can beat ssj4 gogeta, battle of gods goku, majin buu, buuhan, etc. God Ki is one thing, but having the god form absorbed in base? That messed up the whole power level scaling. And if that was the case, was beerus technically fighting the power of ssjb goku then since he had ssj with base god form power? Just doesn’t make sense to me at all
@@naakuallotey2931Its just a new form with power multiplier.SSG god was supposed to make a saiyan strongest in the universe.Only mortals who surpass gods should have been able to beat someone with god ki.But nowadays anyone can wish to their stupid dragon and become stronger than saiyans with god ki
@@Skrunnibecause simple common sense helps you realize if it's GOD level then no one should be able to hurt you. Your human brain can't make up a logical reason to physically hurt a God. If it's just stronger that is what it is. No ifs, ands, buts or technicalities.
The saddest part is that God Ki as a concept had so much potential too. It could've been a revolution in the concepts of ki like when Naruto introduced natural energy as an alternative to chakra. Like, imagine if God Ki allowed for a specific set of techniques Goku can't use with his natural ki energy and maybe as a consequence he is deprived of a specific type of technique like instant transmission or concentrated energy blasts while utilizing God Ki. All that potential and what we got was just a power up with extra steps
Im thinking - Ocular Powers (like sharingan?) - High speed Regeneration (but it uses up a LOT of God ki) - No more need to Eat, Sleep or Drink. - Can Absorb Normal Ki Blasts and convert them into his own energy. Also since Goku is the Saiyan god. I think he should grow a Tail again. But a majestic Red one.
@@aozorahaou2643 This is so true. These characthers should be able to shake the entire Universe just by fighting but they still cannot breath in space. it feel so laughable sometimes but sad because they waste this concept
@@maalikserebryakov or hell, have God Ki give different benefits to different people. Saiyans like Goku and Vegeta? They gain a healing factor when utilising God Ki, so they can exploit their species' Zenkai Boosts If a human were to get God Ki, they could have it grant them an exponential power growth so long as they're using God Ki, but it's physically demanding and draining the longer they use it, turning them into a glass cannon Namekians could gain enhanced shapeshifting abilities, being able to shift their limbs into powerful clubs and piercing implements Also, such a shame not granting God Ki to non-saiyans in the series. Even a throwaway line of "being in the presence of God Ki for sufficient time has granted them the ability to metabolise their regular ki into Godly Ki", and since the Gods don't usually interact with non-gods for anything longer than a few hours, maybe a day at most, this hasn't been documented as happening until now.
My problem with God Ki has always been that there's really nothing that sets it apart from any other Super Saiyan transformation. There really should've been more godly abilities like UI and Hakai to make the forms special because as it currently stands, ssj4 could've been the form that he took in that fight and it wouldn't have made a difference. Remember how Goku was bummed out because he didn’t attain ssg from training? Well that's immediately thrown away because multiple characters reach those levels offscreen in very short time spans effectively making the transformation nothing more than an ordinary power multiplier like any of their other transformations. There's literally nothing "godly" about the forms, they don't even get rid of their races inability to survive in a vacuum for crying out loud. There should've been something that sets it apart from ordinary ki, but aside from being undetectable to mortals, there isn't really anything special about it 😑
Ultra instinct is the same thing. They acted like it was a new form with new abilities, but at the end of the day if the opponent hits harder and faster than you, evasion suddenly doesn't mean anything. So it may as well be Super Saiyan 5 😂 Total nonsense I don't know why you people take this stuff seriously.
Agreed. Despite being formed from god ki instead of regular ki, SSG just ended up feeling like another basic super saiyan form. Don’t get me wrong I still think god red is the coolest form, but I can’t deny it doesn’t feel much different from the rest of the forms before it.
I think the problem is that another transformation was immediately thrown out there before the concept of God ki was even fully fleshed out. There really isn't anything godly about ssg and ssb. Honestly, in terms of abilities, Gear 5 and Six Path Amps seem more godly... Of course, power wise, ssg, and blue shit on a lot of characters, but that's it it's just another power up. Especially when people that don't have God ki are just reaching those levels with ordinary training. It's Only a matter of time before some new antagonist shows up, starts whooping MAX power Goku and Vegeta, and then someone like Chichi just tells Goku and Vegeta "Stand aside, I got this" and starts slamming the new enemy No Dif, because it turns it she's been gaining a massive amount of power from doing housework and birthing 2 Saiyan hybrids. Maybe that's where that Beast form came from 🤔 Hell, maybe Yamcha will go into the time chamber for a bit, then come out with a new Divine Wolf form and slam Broly. You never know with this series anymore 😂
@@150HelloI bet krillen will trian in the barber shop for 3 minutes then he surpass the likes of black frieza and gohan with his new Golden head transformation and people will call it potential all jokes aside its a shame that Goku and Vegeta who have God ki and trian with Gods and Angels will get beaten by ordinary people so whats not the point of God ki it just like ssj5 or smth just more powerful and the same goes of ui and ue. UI is just white hair and "look i can dodge faster" and of course more powerful.
Narratively, God Ki should have introduced a wide array of unique powers. I mean sure we have passive regeneration but it's so small it's insignificant. Ultra Instinct offered a better take in that it's a technique the automates movement and Ultra Ego gives Vegeta access to destruction powers. However these are only two out of four God forms that give Goku and Vegeta unique powers. Passive regeneration was mentioned but it's barely noticeable.

They should have brought back Cell instead...
Master roshi being in the tournament of power would have been fine if he just used his abilities like sleep paralysis while being protected by stronger characters. Or that by being so weak, enemies had to hold back to prevent killing him. They could have written him in and still made him look like a badass and have it make sense. Characters could have given him energy, like a spirit bomb to attack enemies with to boost him up a bit while making narrative sense. The rule on no killing made it very easy to write in weaker characters for strategic purposes.
They're going to retcon God Ki form. They've been saying Vageta's ultra ego has been getting his ki under control to boost the form. Jiren went through ki refinement. Picolo went through ki refinement. Goku will learn to refine his ki; then eventually refine his God Ki
nah, you see when bearus and goku shaked the universe the ripples from their god ki spread their ki everywhere and in everything, all living being absorbed it gaining god ki. That's the only explanation.
Also piccolo might be able to sense god ki is because he absorbed kami in dbz and dende did sense berus proving earth’s kami does have god ki as a requirement.
Was about to post this. Piccolo was also able to recognize Shin (Supreme Kai) back in the Buu saga. While we don't know if it was necessarily god-ki he could sense or something else, but most translations have Piccolo saying something to the effect "Shin is dimensions away from him".
@shadowtrench it would for sure had to have been God ki because we learn in super that the Supreme kai and God of destruction are literally linked if the Supreme kai dies so to does the God of destruction so that would mean they are both divine beings and piccolo being one with kami would have been able to sense God ki.
@StevenJones851 personally I feel it would make more sense for piccolo to train with the Supreme kai than for him to train with whis or beerus since I don't really feel like either of them fit piccolo and his character arc. The kais could of helped him unlock his potential and then learn the truth of his divinity and the eventual awakening of the orange form rather than just utilizing the dragonballs although getting his powers from the dragon balls does make narrative sense based on his own relationship with the dragon balls as their initial creator.
I mean, logically speaking, Bulma has the best feats in the franchise for making the time machine and several different universes/timelines. But then again most other dragon ball feats are hollow and mean actually nothing
16, 17 and 18 being that strong was already pure meme as well. Akira should've never created power levels tbh. That's what ruined everything. We wouldn't have these issues if we didn't know Freeza was 150 million. We would just go "Wow, this intergalactic dictator Freeza is strong, but these human made Androids and Cell are stronger. Ok, I guess. This Buu is stronger than all of them, a monster. Gods are stronger than all of them". But power levels make us know that the power levels are exponential af lmao Now it's impossible to create strong beings without being either dumb af or a retcon. Man, I really wish Toei did a fresh new DB story. Give it to good writers that won't create stories that go like "strong mf appears out of nowhere and needs to be stopped!!!". The DB universe is so cool to be wasted like this... The anime/manga would've been so much better if the arcs weren't moved by characters trying to prove who's more OP. Character development is non existent in DBZ, we have 12 universes to choose from and there are basically no interesting plots or places for us to know since the show is just about strong mfs fighting each other.

Power scalling was dumb since sayian saga. It took goku a full year to reach couple of thousands power and then a week to reach level of frieza. Gohan fought fourth form frieza
Regarding your issue with Gohan, it's probably that Gohan trains, then slacks off forever, immediately gets all of his power back, and then gets new powers on top of it despite having slacked off so hard, while other characters who have trained for years and years wind up completely overshadowed by him despite putting in way more effort. To get back to the main topic of the video, though, I feel like the best thing to do would have been to combine Super Saiyan God and Ultra Instinct into one single form that Goku was trying to develop over the course of the series. He can get flashes of it here and now, but it's not some instant story-breaking power that has to be nerfed into the ground because he'd only master it at the end. But because Dragon Ball has no end and the writers are bad at not making everything new into the be all, end all, every new form introduced just seems more superfluous than the last.
@@therrfuin7897 it kinda is an excuse, boi’s are literally built different in the sense of the overall narrative, especially when you look all the way back from OG dragon ball and how characters grow throughout the 3 main series. Honestly I pretty much agree. While I like forms like Super Saiyan god and Rose the whole god ki concept of being beyond the strength of what a mortal could obtain faded after so many non god ki user's caught up. Heck I've been in the opinion that they should've reintroduced SSJ4 as Goku & Vegeta's answer to rivaling god ki instead of learning from Whis or getting Blue.
It started far earlier than the universe 6 saiyans. Remember how Frieza trained for 4 months and was stronger than Super Saiyan blue? God ki doesn't mean shit and it never meant shit. You could literally remove God ki as a concept from the series and absolutely nothing changes.
@@MrLachapell They can't and didn't, SSG Goku after fighting Jiren and tired was still able to destroy them both and nearly take them out of the fight in the T.O.P of course before they fused and fusion is hella strong anyway so they more or less matched a tired SSG Goku and even caught SSB Goku off guard
Your idea of not being able to use SSG initially after using it the first time is cool; instead of using that form, the power Goku absorbs could’ve changed how his SS forms or possibly base form look, Red eyes, red squigglies in his aura or red lightning or even similar to Sage mode Naruto gets.
Honestly SSG should've been a pinnacle Goku and Vegeta train to reach. Have it actually be 70% of Beerus's full power and Goku and Vegeta work to get to that SSG level and surpass it. Maybe the SSG they can access is like a fluke version. Barely a 2000 multiplier (example). And everything leads up to the ToP where Goku after extensive training and mastery of self, discovers UI and it puts him above his SSG level from the start of the show. Vegeta then gets SSB to match Goku. Now I'm comparing UI and SSB here power wise since logically they shouldn't be that far apart.. but hey it's super. SSB should be a technique more focused on being calm so Vegeta can have an arc of being calm and that all leads to him achieving blue and besting Toppo barely. Goku never reaches the same calmness due to stress over the ToP and how he started it. (Also I would remove the "Zeno was gonna destroy weaker universes anyways. So Goku gave them a fighting chance". I'd push the fact that Goku wanted the ToP out of fun and Zeno decided afterwards that destroying the weaker universes would make them fight harder. I just hate the cop out to make Goku seem like a hero, when this is the best moment for character development) But yes Goku is a little stressed since he's enemy number 1. Eventually he let's go of that. He let's go of everything and fully commits to fighting and winning and that's when UI shows up.

God Ki cannot normally be sensed, but Piccolo is able to because of Kami being the former guardian of Earth which granted him certain abilities. The weird thing about "God Ki" is that its never come up before. King Yema, King Kai, Supreme Kai, Grand Kai. It gave so many characters a ridiculous power boost over time. We used to witness Goku and the others Train really hard to achieve new levels of power. Ever since super, power levels were handed out for free. Especially in characters that barely scratches the surface of their max potential.
I mean yalll say that it’s just a super issue but saiyan saga, Yamcha, krillin and tien are all 2-3x stronger than pre death goku, buu saga yamcha can 1 shot super perfect cell and solo the rest of the cel game fighters, db scaling has been horrible
For me the issue of god ki is that its too similar if not identical to regular ki, god ki should of been like the power cosmic from marvel obtianing god ki should of unlseased a whole new world of possibilities by including unique powers that well make goku actually feel like a Saiyan God; such as giving him divine powers like immortailty, matter manipulation and maybe even time travel?
Immorality is fine, matter manipulation? Like shin? And time travel would just have been stupid. Even whis can only rewind a few minutes and shin can only go to another timeline by using the time ring.
Dragon ball has endless opportunities to make their power system more complex. Toriyama had decades to think of something better than punching hard and shooting energy blasts, but he didn't, because he doesn't care. 😂 So why do you? You want to watch something good? Looks elsewhere.
The initial multiplier for god ki was absolutely ridiculous. But it really seems like it has had greatly diminishing returns the more they have tried to push it to higher levels. Basically that the bottom for god ki is incredibly high, but it doesn't seem to scale nearly as fast as mortal ki. Also, as far as potential goes I kind of envision it like a snowball rolling downhill. If you start with a small snowball and roll it one foot it might add a small amount of snow onto it. But if you have a really large snowball and roll it one foot it's going to add way more snow just because there is more surface on the snowball for new snow to add onto.
I think the theory of god ki is actually slower than mortal ki is right. like I was pointing out with gt and super goku differences in timelines for a example. gt goku made sense of power difference. because of one fact. he didn't stop training once. while in super he did stopped training or just trained less. but he can now crack the universe just because he unlocked god ki? doesn't really sound believable to me at all. gt goku can already shake half the universe before he got he's tail back and only just his base.
Hot take: considering how trash the "gods" have been in the story since the very begining, it makes sense that god ki and the godly forms ain't all that. UI and UE came from the 2 beings being hyped ever since they got introduced. Not even Gohan's training prior to the ritual or Trunks training accomplish anything for them other than Trunks being turned into Dende in the Black arc.
I think there is a way to make the god forms work, if in the Black arc they stuck with the regular SSG form it could add more mystery to the Rosè form -which is a corrupted version of blue-, then you have the Moro arc before the ToP and instead of UI Goku unlocks SSGSS, this would also make Goku's speech to Moro make more sense and would lead to Goku suggesting Zeno put the tournament together. From there you can have the UI reveal play out as seen. Obviously you'd need to do some power level fuckery but this would make the power scaling so much less convoluted
I really liked how after TOP they were leaning into techniques ui, magic if you wanna count it, hakai, spirit fission. But I hate how they’re tossed under the bus recently
Dragon Ball super is garbage. Completely nerfed ultra instinct. They couldn't come up with a reason for why Gas can beat Goku besides "he's stronger than him" 😂 So ultra instinct is worthless then. But the last straw for me was bringing Freeza back again. They should have started a trend with canonizing movie villains and made Cooler canon. It would have made more sense if Cooler was training for decades to surpass Freeza because he wasn't as talented, so now cooler completely outclasses everyone. But no Freeza trains for 10 years? There's no way Goku and Vegeta should ever be able to catch up, especially with their physical bodies at their limit.
@@DirtyBobBojangles yeah end of Moro arc and all of granola arc was just terrible. With how they handled Broly I thought was pretty good if they could’ve just done that for every z movie villain we could’ve gotten something great. Ui in granola and kinda the end of Moro arcs didn’t even feel like what ui is supposed to be. Just the idea of these techniques being stomped out by characters simply because they’re stronger and faster is literally the dumbest thing because now it’s like they’re saying all the effort and importance put into these techniques are ultimately useless if you’re just faster and stronger. Ehh I’m just at the point where if super wanted to have a good story they would’ve but they genuinely just don’t care enough to put that kind of thought or effort into it. There’s so many reasons why Z was so good but for all the reasons that made Z so good, super just started going backwards instead of progress what made dragon ball z so good
@@DirtyBobBojanglesbroooo I thought the same instead of bringing back freiza why not retcon cooler perfect storyline right there but nah frieza from the namek saga training four weeks puts him in the realms of goods and I never like ultra instinct due to it being such an asspull classic scenario new enemy new form but this time was much more lazy
I was skeptical at first but bro, you have a good point. I don't understand why Android 17 went from being less powerful than SSJ Grade 2 to holding his own with SSJ Blue
I honestly wish that god ki made Goku and Vegeta almost untouchable to non god ki fighters, but, that’s not what we got. Ssg, saiyan beyond god, ssb and Ssbe were levels to prepare them for ultra instinct and destroyer mode(ultra ego is a pretty dumb name). Toriyama made too many characters capable of competing with and surpassing Goku and Vegeta. My personal opinion it should’ve just been Hit, Jiren, Broly and Moro that could give them a real, tough fight.
I've seen some videos explaining why Ultra Ego is called that and it honestly makes a lot more sense than you'd think. Other than that, I agree with you on practically everything.
@@ThyBait Saiyan beyond god is a power up where a saiyan can access the power of super saiyan god without transforming. Super saiyan blue is the Super Saiyan version of Super Saiyan god. Super Saiyan blue evolution is the ascended version of super saiyan blue. Where did I repeat myself? Well I guess a destroyer god and god of destruction were made up by a toddler too.
All other power scaling issues aside, i wish they had the guts to have the god form be Goku & Vegetas new base forms. So that it can be treated the same way as re-spec into a prestige class in a JRPG. Most of their power gets reset in exchange for having a near unlimited power ceiling
I liked it at first. Pretty sure there were interviews around Resurrection F as well as Super’s production that said Goku and Vegeta would stop using their other super saiyan forms to focus on the god aspect. That idea went right down the drain though it looks like. Goku’s base doesn’t even seem godly anymore.
Ya, in the manga, things are more consistent, and when goku fights beerus, he never goes supersaiyan and keeps up with beerus he only fights beerus in the God form. So, when beerus says he absorbs the power into his base form you literally see goku reactivate God form without the ritual. Which would then imply that absorbing God ki into his base form is literally what creates super saiyan God and enables him to transform into God form at will rather than requiring a ritual. So, his base does not change, but he gains access to a new form, which is adding God ki to his base form to transform. Obviously it seems guides and other things contradict this but that is what would make the most sense. Especially since in the manga he never goes blue to fight android 17 he powers up to super saiyan 3 at most and in the tournament android 17 literally does nothing to jiren he just hides until the tournament ends.
It would have been cool if they made GodKi be able to give individuals more unique powers Unfortunately instead of that is gives individuals….nothing really
You could remove god ki from Goku and Vegeta and DBS would feel like a natural continuation of the series, with enemies rarely being more powerful than Boo, but still dangerous in their own right. Goku should have lost SSG after Battle of Gods and the rest of Super should have been his journey to obtain it his own way - not with wishes or rituals, but with blood, sweat and tears... Retcon the crimson aura as a generic god ki thing, and UI could have been his own, personalised SSG. It would have been perfect.
Hot take. The introduction of blue right after we just got God was trash. If we had God for a while until a moment pushed Goku to transform, it'd feel earned, and God would have more shine. They fumbled on Ultra Instinct too. The Omen form was bad ass. But both Omen and God were thrown away to sell more merchandise.
Imo, god ki would've been more interesting if they explained it as a way to obtain larger reserves of power. Had god ki been a method to increase and release more power from within and being able to stack super saiyan transformations on top of that, this would've been nicer to see and make the super saiyan transformations still relevant. However, it still doesn't explain away why other characters can reach said power without the use of god ki.
Personally for God ki to work it would have to not be some insane power multiplier but instead just be a different ki with unique properties that offer specific abilities that you can't gain any other way like God bind and hakai and ultra instinct.
I think it's cause at first the transformation is designed for only goku, then they got to give it to vegeta smh so he can catch up, then gove some asspull power up to non sayain characters so they can catch up, that's why all these new transformation lack narrative impact. Ssj1 and 2 were so iconic cause of their narrative weight not the power up, at least not entirely, the god and ultra forms on the other hand are all soulless power up only for the sake of power up so the main characters can beat the new super strong enemy of the week that popped out of nowhere from the many universes and timelines there are now.
God ki is more than just for power ups and power scaling but changed the focus on where characters can pull power from. Notice whis and beerus never transform, but powers have always scaled beyond Goku and Vegeta.
You should make a video on combat prodigies in dragon ball, maybe roughly ranking them and explaining why they are a prodigy. It’s crazy that some people still don’t know that yes, Goku is a martial arts genius.
@@sixfromtokyoperhaps a similar one for JJK? Since there are a few prodigies in it as well And maybe not rank their strength/power but rather how much of a prodigy they are/adept?
It’s just literally every relevant fighter lol. Prodigy is a meaningless term in Dragon Ball, at least as of Super, because of how much they overuse it.
Does anyone remember when the idea of SSJ god came out, there was this one fan concept art of ssj4 goku with golden fur? I wish Toriyama leaned more into that- going back to the saiyans' roots as their ultimate transformation. Glad he's doing it with ultra ego and Broly's tailess oozaru form, but that should have been it.
The concept of god ki really isn't all that impressive unless you are an angel, a god of destruction, or Zeno. King Kai has god ki, and he was weaker than Nappa at least. Shin the Supreme Kai of universe 7 has god ki , and he was stronger than Frieza was before resurrection f, yet weaker than super saiyan 2. Goku and Vegeta gaining god ki through their god forms was initially impressive, but Frieza without god ki was able to catch up and even surpass them on occasion. The gods of destruction were set up to be the strongest when it comes to god ki, not counting the angels or Zeno, and yet Jiren was able to surpass universe 11's god of destruction Belmond with god ki. Beerus seems to be the only god of destruction whose god ki has yet to be surpassed by those who have surpassed god ki without the use of god ki.
This series recycles concepts but pretends it doesn't. "Perfect ki control" like when Goku fought the Ginyu force? "SSB doesn't drain ki" oh you mean like MSSJ?
The power multiplier for Super Saiyan God literally takes Goku’s power from finite to infinite… and Android 17 matched and surpassed that amp by being a park ranger. God ki sucks.
First of all, it's probably not a multiplier like the other SSJ forms. Second of all, when does SSG Goku have infinite power... what in the hell? Third of all, Android 17 is a cyborg who also trains, and has probably trained really damn hard before the ToP to get back into such a high degree of power, and I'd bet that SSG Goku is still stronger than 17, with SSB expanding the gap even more
@@wasifchowdhury2004 It has infinite attack potency, not infinite power necessarily, since Goku can get exhausted. In the Battle of Gods and in the anime adaptation, the entire mortal universe, the after life, and the world of the Ki’s were all going to be completely destroyed by Beerus and Goku clashing fists. That’s at least three infinite time spaces on the precipice of destruction. By definition no finite amount of attack potency could destroy even one infinite time space; let alone three or more. Even if the feat is downplayed by saying Goku only did half of that feat, it is still infinite. You can enjoy it, and I won’t try to convince you otherwise, because hell, it’s something you like. I would be making an ass of myself trying to bring you down. I just personally think it is lazy writing to rush characters to that tier of power just to make them relevant to the story. Perfect Cell was arguably solar system level, which was beyond Android 17 by far. Now 17 is rivaling a Goku that nearly destroyed all of existence in Universe 7 while fighting Beerus… that’s a big jump, man. And sure, perhaps Super Saiyan God isn’t a multiplayer, but the universal + feat did happen. Sorry if this is getting long winded; the comments tend to not be the best place for a good discussion.
Honestly i really wished they got to expand more on god ki and give it more varied properties being more significant than just not being able to be sensed. The idea of god ki couldve been used to better expand gokus ways of fighting. The prodigy effect is really annoying but they could possibly midigate this by allowing god ki users access to stuff regular ki users dont. Maybe regular ki being able to overpower god ki could be explained to have side effects of possibly becoming more unstable the more you get stronger connecting to broly. I dont really know what to do about frieza but i have this random idea that maybe they could explain his insane potential and power baseline as a result of maybe being a race that predated the gods of destruction. Like a prototype god of destruction that zeno or maybe the grand priest created before making the actual ones.
like the fact magic was just rarely there. even magic can actually rival god ki. is like they're saying gods are just a joke. because mortals can just out smart and out power them at any moment if left unchecked.
5:50 just wanted to point out that piccolo can detect god ki. This was shown in the Buu arc when supreme Kai arrives and he can tell he’s a god, I believe he learned to pick up on god ki bc of Kami who is a god… technically Piccolo is a god
Awesome video, very clear and concise with your communication and I love how you're not copying the new trend of black RUclipsrs making a video in exactly the same narrative and comedic style as that one guy "code something.. " I don't even know if you're black or care. But I'm sure you know what I'm talking about if you've seen that style blow up lately. I find it annoying and creative originality is very important to me for entertainment :-) props.
1. Great vid, great editing (I dunno if you did it but props to the editor) 2. I really like Dragon Ball but it’s reasons like the “prodigy problem” I can’t get my friends into the DBS manga. Is DBS bad and I’m in the wrong lol?
1. Yea I edited it myself 2. DBS does kinda suck. I'm a firm believer in the "Turn your brain off to enjoy it" thing nowadays and that's only because I spent so long trying to make sense of everything. The movies like DBS Broly & Superhero are good for the most parts though.
I always wanted God Ki to be similar to transcendent spiritual pressure (and I know you dislike bleach) but I feel like bleach handle a "different form" of energy well. When it comes to transcendence in Bleach, no one else can hang with you unless they're also on that level. I don't like the fact that other characters can contend with God Ki characters even though they're not in that realm of power. It's a similar thing with Naruto too with Six Paths power and that how it should be with dragonball. I shouldn't see 17 scrapping with SSB Goku, it makes no sense
My problem with DB in general has always been that there is no *visible* difference in power. A guy with, say, a power level of 1 million will essentially look and fight the same way as somebody who is a billion times stronger than him. SSG Goku's Kamehameha looks exactly like base Goku's, yet we're supposed to believe it's unquantifiably stronger merely because that's what the writers are telling us. Like, imagine if SoSP Madara had been introduced to us utilizing the same Jutsu as Kiba or Tenten.
The last time that was a thing was in the Cell arc, with Perfect Cells and SSJ 2 kamehameha being larger, and Cell saying his kamehameha would "destroy the solar system". After that it's not touched on again.
i feel you on that bulma part. she been a prodigy since db so if she put on a gi and started train wit like whis or king kai, shed prolly be base super vegeta level faster than it took freiza to be blue goku level
Everyone talked about how unique Frieza and Broly are, but so is Vegeta and he had to train for it, and then you have characters like Cabba who are on par with him in base form post God ki and that's just the start not counting gold Frieza
The U6 Saiyans are tailess, more evolved less savage. To me anyway that suggests they are similar to the "gentle saiyan hybrid" Gohan so they have similar potential.
Personally, I say that Super Saiyan God should've been the end of it. It just needed an array of unique abilities, as someone else also mentioned. Having SSB being a thing, ESPECIALLY with Kaioken on top of that, which is dumb. How do you multiply God Ki (pressurized Ki) with a move that boosts regular Ki? Maybe even give SSG a "primal form", which would basically be the same visuals as SSJ4, and give it some positives/negatives to balance out the regular SSG form
Maybe this is Toriyama’s way of saying ‘Stop thinking, and just enjoy’. That’s how I am honestly starting to see the concept of power-scaling at this point.
Yea, lets bring out Ar-15's in game of thrones, add in Godzilla and shit fuck it throw in some aliens. lol. You cant turn your brain off from nonsense. lol. Its not fun when things dont make sense.
Suspension of disbelief can only go so far until it makes the audience go "wtf am I watching, this makes absolutely no sense while acting all serious" and they leave cuz its just so dumb. Imagine if Krillin showed up with an "instant delete people" ray, thats kinda fuckin stupid and id just drop it
Instead of making Frieza and Broly prodigies, Super should've just made them into Mutants and explain the concept of Mutant characters Also another here is reason why God Ki sucks. It doesn't allow Goku and Vegeta to breathe in space
Personally I think that a good way of doing it would be to make super saiyan god be not a divine form, but instead called super saiyan red and be a form from condensing the ki, so the amount of ki stays the same but the energy output goes up. It could be explained by saying that the other 5 saiyans in the ritual are condensing they’re ki into the pool of ki that gold has, making it denser. And from they’re you could still stack super saiyan to get blue and even blue2 and blue3 as well as tie it to kaioken by saying that kaioken was always the condensing of key just that no one realized it and then use god ki as the basis for ultra instinct and ultra ego, the two divine powers that we actually see. From that you even make it go further and say they those are just two forms of god ki and that is it malleable and can be transformed into different types of power, like how hakai is very different from normal ki, so that other character can create they’re own forms of god ki later down the line and expand the freedom of the power system from just numbers
If Dragon Ball didn't do such massive vertical leaps of power every saga, this wouldn't even be an issue. They could just focus more on the main idea of the original series, DB, and become more honed as martial artists, rather than just blowing up universes and what not. This is why I believe horizontal power ups (i.e new techniques, new fighting styles, etc etc somewhat like Baki or Gamaran or other mangas like that) are better than vertical (i.e Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, etc etc). If Toei, Toriyama and Toyotaro wanted to make them **SOO** strong, you didn't have to make them surpass, and then some, their limits every single fight ad nauseam.
that’s like the best part of ultra instinct since while it may be a vertical power up it is at least a technique that you can’t just obtain by being strong
@@Yntag Have to agree with Xdragstig_4207, the strengths of Ultra Instinct are just things Goku had already achieved not even in Z but back in OG Dragon Ball. It is pretty much primarily a vertical powerboost, and I fear that, because of Black Frieza, they may end up doing something like Super Saiyan Ultra Instinct. Which just....like come on
I agree entirely with you on that Slade, since that's how it initially seemed to be at the start of Dragon Ball Z. Raditz who was what, 3 to 10 times stronger than the other earthlings was done in by them because of their techniques. They had the ability to sense Ki naturally, not needing scouters, and they had techniques and powerboosts that the Frieza Force initially had no idea of how to counter.
These are all valid, also a reason why I'm a huge fan of shows that keep their numbers really low, but I think Dragon Ball Z and Super have that issue of power creeping too high and the result is this where it's a struggle to actually make it make sense for other characters to catch up.
Other characters keeping has never been the problem. Constantly telling and showing us how outmatched they are is. Don't tell us how weak a character is and then give them this ginormous boost just because you're now ready for them to contribute in the arc.
@@buster3041 I should've rephrased it but they struggled to explain how it makes sense why people like 17 and Krillin can catch up so easy. That what I was trying to say in the of my first comment
I never understood this if base goku “absorbed” ssg and is basically as strong as he was in god form, does he still get the multiplier when he goes back in ssg? So goku had a huge boost first time going ssg and then it becomes his base and then he can do the multiplier on top of that?
At the conclusion of Dragon Ball Super, Goku achieves the perfected Ultra Instinct, rendering him invincible. The Grand Priest informs him that, due to this newfound angelic power, he is forbidden from remaining in the realm of the living. However, Goku refuses to accept this decree, resulting in everyone losing their godlike powers. Yet, in the finale of Dragon Ball GT, Goku reawakens this perfected state, compelling him to depart from the realm of the living.
God ki being unique isn’t inherently a bad idea. I’m definitely getting sick of color change and more power. Especially with blue, I wish it didn’t exist. They should’ve just actually done something with how god ki is apparently special.
But does kami have god ki remember Goku teleported with instant transmission to kami to save tien and piccolo from cell. when mr.popo is the lower equivalent to a angel wouldn’t he have god ki to?
My thoughts on power levels/ki: Power level isn't a linear scaling. Its more of a logistical growth; the first million is way more impactful, and after that each million is less than the next. Training to gain power level has a limit, as stated by Whis. Once this so called limit is hit, it becomes more about ki quality. Ki has a quality to it. "God Ki" is simply a uniquely high quality of ki, such that its usually reserved for gods but its possible for mortals to get it. Only a handful of people in the entire universe are able to reach that level. The quality of ki isn't something that's ever measured in the way power level was, but its clear the quality of ki effects how "powerful" a fighter is in some way.
Divine Ki is energy dense. Think of it like how 1kg of coal has more energy in it than 1kg of wood. Same mass, different output. Without Divine Ki, Goku and Vegeta couldn't keep up.
This doesn't feel like a "god ki sucks" video it feels like a "god ki caused a bunch of narrative/powerscaling problems" video lol. Find it odd you didn't mention the regeneration goku got from god ki, though I guess it only happened once so I can get why you didn't mention it. I don't count gas and granolah against god ki since they literally gained their powers from a wish which also granted them magic like moro and other exlusive techniques so imo normal ki still can't replicate hakai or other god ki abilities, unless a new character that only trained can do hakai like things with normal ki then this point is moot. God ki is objectively better than normal ki but as long as you're talented enough you can catch up and surpass god ki users which makes god ki redundant kinda.
It also Massively Increases Speed too. I think k Humans Should have God Ki Too. I think Fire God Liu Kang Could be as Powerful as God Ki since he is a God too
I agree. God ki sucks. It’s just a bunch of color hair swaps and has nothing to do with the lore of the saiyans blood line to transcend. So dumb. The beast form and the trunks rage form doesn’t make any sense at all. It’s dumb. Dragon ball needs a better writers.
Ssg Goku in the manga was able to heal a hole in his torso and in the Broly movie he used some "freezing attack" on Broly. Both are never mentioned ever again.
Honestly, Akira Toriyama should have left Dragon Ball alone after Z ended as a perfect ending. Dragon Ball Super SUCKS and it's power level system totally contradicted its own rule established all these years from DB & DBZ eras. To me personally Dragon Ball ended with Z; anything afterward is only fan fiction.
@chewkok8242 In Dbz Bog Movie the Ssgod Transformation and Whole Fight Is Better than. Dbs Version( I actually Like that it was Less Destructive because It felt they have more Ki Control( Beerus and Dbz Ssg Goku) than the Dbs Versions of the Character( Beerus Dbs Version makes no Sense for him to Stab Goku sense He wanted to Fight Ssg Goku not Incapacitate Him).
@chewkok8242 I mainly wish they did something new with the said God Ki instead of just another form. We didn’t even get a different Kamehameha or anything his hair just turned red and he started fighting. That’s why the techniques shown in the Broly Movie were a step in the right direction but other than those it’s just red/blue hair and that’s all god Ki does
@@hurricane7727 Where the other saiyans dumped their Ki into Goku? That was fine since it was just a power amp instead of a whole new Ki system that just has a different title.
I'd be willing to believe an entire civilization's worth of worship would elevate someone into a god, like a sort of living spirit bomb, but just 5 people who happen to like a guy and Vegeta qualifying as pure-hearted? Come on now. By that standard, any number of saiyans could have become god level before they were wiped out, super saiyan gods would have been rampant all over the place. Plus this idea was already used in the first Broly movie
They never really beat anybody with it. Vegeta had to get Royal Blue to beat Top. Vegito can't hold blue for long. God ki is worthless. Return to the Monke( SS4.)

True. They should have brought back diversionary tactics.
Especially when they give that ability to the three dogs in top.
@@Taco_Thiefyeah it was. It's how Gohan, Krillin, Vegeta maneuvered around Namek. And how Cell sneaked away to absorb people and get the drop on the Androids.

The saddest part is that God Ki as a concept had so much potential too. It could've been a revolution in the concepts of ki like when Naruto introduced natural energy as an alternative to chakra. Namekians could gain enhanced shapeshifting abilities, being able to shift their limbs into powerful clubs and piercing implements
Also, such a shame not granting God Ki to non-saiyans in the series.
God... naruto... now that is a series that has really jumped the shark. It is unrecognisable from what it used to be
My problem with God Ki has always been that there's really nothing that sets it apart from any other Super Saiyan transformation.
There should've been something that sets it apart from ordinary ki, but aside from being undetectable to mortals, there isn't really anything special about it 😑
I love this comment 😂 so much potential but they ruined it
Ultra instinct is the same thing. They acted like it was a new form with new abilities, but at the end of the day if the opponent hits harder and faster than you, evasion suddenly doesn't mean anything. So it may as well be Super Saiyan 5 😂
Total nonsense I don't know why you people take this stuff seriously.
Maybe that's where that Beast form came from 🤔
Hell, maybe Yamcha will go into the time chamber for a bit, then come out with a new Divine Wolf form and slam Broly.

The rule on no killing made it very easy to write in weaker characters for strategic purposes.

Let's be real here, the writers just forgot in instances like that. Inconsistencies like that are extremely common in Dragonball especially in Super.
@@IllusorySpectrethat makes Sense i also wish they would have him trai. With whis instead of wishing for his potential too be unlocked

I guess that humans scientist are op in dragon ball keep in mind that capsule corp can create some sort of pocket dimension with capsules

YAMACHA, WAS ON THE LIST!
Best placed TFS reference since ever! :D
Power scalling was dumb since sayian saga. It took goku a full year to reach couple of thousands power and then a week to reach level of frieza. Gohan fought fourth form frieza
Don’t forget how Yamcha FAR surpassed pre death goku lol, with his power lev during saiyan saga being in the same level as raditz

If they introduced SSJ4 to Super, it should be in its natural state. Without god ki on top of it.
Your idea of not being able to use SSG initially after using it the first time is cool; instead of using that form, the power Goku absorbs could’ve changed how his SS forms or possibly base form look, Red eyes, red squigglies in his aura or red lightning or even similar to Sage mode Naruto gets.
Damn 😩
Wouldve been fire
You mean something like false super saiyan
I just hate the cop out to make Goku seem like a hero, when this is the best moment for character development)
But yes Goku is a little stressed since he's enemy number 1. Eventually he let's go of that. He let's go of everything and fully commits to fighting and winning and that's when UI shows up.
@@powerjolt7215 THIS!!!! I've always said SSJG should've been the pinnacle transformation of the series and doing the ritual gave Goku temporary access to it. You are right, there are so many warriors who can rival Goku and Vegeta or even surpass them easily, like Trunk, Gohan, Freizer, Broly, Kefla, etc.
If you're gonna add a second power system, it should function independently or be sealed to exclusive roles. It makes sense that gods have special ki that allow them to access techniques like resurrection, time control, total destruction, etc. This would make lower ranked gods like King Kai special without him needing to be strong. This special ki could also work like a ceiling raiser that varies based on your personal potential. This would explain why they amass so much strength instead of just saying "well, God Ki"
Remember when one of the special perks about sayians is their ability to grow within a battle…now almost every species have that ability now or something similar

This could definitely work later 😊

Thats all of DB(starting w/dbz) in a nutshell.
Dbs is just more egregious
I honestly wish that god ki made Goku and Vegeta almost untouchable to non god ki fighters, but, that’s not what we got.
Ssg, saiyan beyond god, ssb and Ssbe were levels to prepare them for ultra instinct and destroyer mode(ultra ego is a pretty dumb name). Toriyama made too many characters capable of competing with and surpassing Goku and Vegeta. My personal opinion it should’ve just been Hit, Jiren, Broly and Moro that could give them a real, tough fight.
Maybe not untouchable. Goku still needs a good challenge. Perhaps it could've given him some unique advantages in combat.
Guess you forgot toppo
I've seen some videos explaining why Ultra Ego is called that and it honestly makes a lot more sense than you'd think. Other than that, I agree with you on practically everything.
You said ssjb twice🤦🏿♂️ and “destroyer mode” sounds like toddler naming

The guides for that movie also talk about how Goku & Vegeta got infinitely stronger from that Godly base form level.
I REALLY like your idea about not being able to tap into god ki after the ritual until ultra instinct and ultra ego
That's a terrible idea
the wildest thing in this video is realizing that battle of gods was 2013
It would have been cool if they made GodKi be able to give individuals more unique powers
Unfortunately instead of that is gives individuals….nothing really
I swear they brought back DB just to pull out a whole arsenal of nuclear annibilation weapons to blast it out of existence again
But both Omen and God were thrown away to sell more merchandise.
cant believe Battle of the gods is already 10 years old.
To think we could have had a timeline where ssj3 is relevant
Probably a good idea to do a video like that yea.
@@sixfromtokyoperhaps a similar one for JJK? Since there are a few prodigies in it as well
And maybe not rank their strength/power but rather how much of a prodigy they are/adept?
Real talk I love the video topic and all, but I really appreciate the subtitles. It helps when I need to have my volume low ❤
1. Great vid, great editing (I dunno if you did it but props to the editor)
2. I really like Dragon Ball but it’s reasons like the “prodigy problem” I can’t get my friends into the DBS manga. Is DBS bad and I’m in the wrong lol?
1. Yea I edited it myself
2. DBS does kinda suck. I'm a firm believer in the "Turn your brain off to enjoy it" thing nowadays and that's only because I spent so long trying to make sense of everything. The movies like DBS Broly & Superhero are good for the most parts though.
Bad media can be enjoyable. The functional quality is unrelated to the subjective experience of enjoying something
What do u mean? No one is scrapping with naruto and sasuke unless they're on six paths level.
Blue level ki control means Goku has way more output control. He was using blue but a low level of power in blue. Lower than mortal ki SSJ output.
I agree with your take. Simple and to the point with very solid reasons and very good changes had they been made
Everyone talked about how unique Frieza and Broly are, but so is Vegeta and he had to train for it, and then you have characters like Cabba who are on par with him in base form post God ki and that's just the start not counting gold Frieza
Can't enjoy if everything doesn't make sense we not 9 years olds.
Imagine if Krillin showed up with an "instant delete people" ray, thats kinda fuckin stupid and id just drop it
I've always thought this, but never brought it out like this. Your points and breakdowns are outstanding. Just earned yourself a sub
It’s been my headcanon that in db universe power just grows exponentially, the stronger you get, the more significantly increases
Instead of making Frieza and Broly prodigies, Super should've just made them into Mutants and explain the concept of Mutant characters
Also another here is reason why God Ki sucks.
@@YntagYeah but it basically has no difference since goku still gets hit and in namecc saga he already managed to master dodging.
Maybe at this point it would almost be a good idea to reboot the whole franchise. Starting over from DB or the beginning of Z
I don't know why, but this video is incredibly rewatchable for me. This is like the 4th time now.
For piccolo sensing blue. It's also possible since piccolo fused with kami that he can just sense God ki
Honestly, it would've been better if it kept the healing ability.
Piccolo can sense goku’s strength because he’s fused with kami who is a god.
But does kami have god ki remember Goku teleported with instant transmission to kami to save tien and piccolo from cell. when mr.popo is the lower equivalent to a angel wouldn’t he have god ki to?
My thoughts on power levels/ki:
Power level isn't a linear scaling.
I think Fire God Liu Kang Could be as Powerful as God Ki since he is a God too
Just found this video and thank God I'm not alone in this opinion. Keep preaching six.
Bulmas gi and boxing gloves was a funny idea hahaha.
I agree. God ki sucks. It’s just a bunch of color hair swaps and has nothing to do with the lore of the saiyans blood line to transcend. So dumb. The beast form and the trunks rage form doesn’t make any sense at all. It’s dumb. Dragon ball needs a better writers.
this SSJ4 is better. more loyal to what kakarot and bejita are. saiyans!
@@da_001 exactly. Even dragon hall deliverance story gives better transformations.
Ssg Goku in the manga was able to heal a hole in his torso and in the Broly movie he used some "freezing attack" on Broly. Both are never mentioned ever again.
The healing thing SSG Goku did was in the anime, actually.
The freezing attack is called God bind I believe.

Forms are claimed to be multipliers but the story treats them like static boosts of a certain amount.
Great video, dude. I’ve always said that DB has some of, if not the worst powerscaling ive ever seen.
Anyone else wondering how 5 saiyans dumping their Ki into 1 other saiyan equals God Ki?
Dbgt did that too.
@chewkok8242 In Dbz Bog Movie the Ssgod Transformation and Whole Fight Is Better than.
This is why i always said ssj4 was stronger than ssj blue. Blue & Rosé are still my favorite forms tho. 😂
I actually really love the concept of god ki in db personally, his saiyan biology adapting to the power of ssg and keeping that level of power and surpassing it by the end of BoG in base, is personally awesome for me.
it would be fucking awesome if the raw saiyan transformations comeback, super saiyan four, maybe five, godamn.
