Willie is simply a phenomenon, he must have been about 85 at the above video and the man is still touring, absolutely incredible! His voice is still strong, he still plays his axe when he wants to, great as ever. Last I knew, he was STILL touring at age 87! I guess that's what keeps him young! He knows he is loved all over the world.

Just watched a political interview here in England and the interviewer asked who is the most famous person in Texas and the reply was Willie Nelson. Say no more
Politicians come and go, as do actors and actresses. But at age 70, and my memories of music I came to love Willie was front and center then, fifty years ago. Johnny Cash was in that same rarified air. George Jones was close, but never appealed to the masses that Willie and Cash did. Their appeal spread across all ages, and their fans were everyone, not just country music fans. Most famous person in Texas? Few in Texas would argue with that.

Willie had the unusual ability to write songs about such mundane things in every-day life, but make them so interesting, and often you could relate to exactly what he was saying. What a talent he is! Good plan Willie Nelson, stay right where you are in the studio singing some more awesome tunes. I'm sure you're feeling lonely at the top, but you earned the top rung after all the years of music you've written and played. You still got a great sense of rhythm and great lyrics to sing and write. You certainly have a lot of fans that still cheer you on too and the list gets longer when the younger folks discover what good country music should sound like. Your voice has stayed strong because you never stopped singing. Your hands have gotten tired, but your band still does great work of playing for you. I am glad heaven is closed and hell is too full, so I hope your health permits you to stay put a little longer.

Only God knows the heart but Scripture tells us that there is evidence in the fruit of the Spirit. 'Only a song', 'only a movie', 'only a _____'..... fill in the blank. It is compromise of what is truth, light, and the ways of the Lord. I was eager to hear his song when I saw the video title considering Willie's claim all these years to be a Christian....and I was a fan of Willie.... but was greatly disheartened by it. In these times numbers upon numbers of people who think they are Christians are tolerant of anything and everything and think that God doesn't care... but He does... God never changes. He does not tolerate sin... we are told to repent of our sin and turn to Jesus to be forgiven of it.... we aren't to continue in it... when you love the Lord you won't want to. Willie is and has led many many many numbers of people astray with his lifestyle and his claim to be a Christian... leading people to think because Willie does those things that they can, and they think its all right with God. He, as we all, will face the Lord our God in the time of judgement. Also.... most movies Willie has done he actively takes part in adultery.....and Cussing, .... saying you're a Christian is really meaningless if you don't demonstrate integrity and righteousness in your daily living. We as Christians are to be different than the world. But I do pray for Willie to be convicted in his heart and repent and come back to Jesus. I don't desire anything bad on Willie.

Willie you are a classic. I've been listening to you before I could even walk LOL I'm not sure how true that is, but I've been told. I do remember my dad playing your albums on his phonograph on Saturday nights, it was what I guess you'd call a tradition. Great memories of me sitting on my dad's lap on the floor in front of the phonograph picking a line up of albums to listen to. My favorites to this day are Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, The Highway Men. The changes country music has gone through (SMH) You keep writing and making your music. I just bought the CD with "Still Not Dead" on it. First listen was with my Daddy.

Did you ever notice when the old artists come back and put out a record that they die shortly after? We all are held accountable for everything we do good or bad and it's all about legacy. I am not talking about albums and music awards, I'm talking about the same thing Willie is in this song. Heaven and Hell are real and at WIllie's age, they are really real. I wouldn't want this song to be part of my life work at 85 years old. Willie has always known what unconditional love is. He demonstrated it many times right before my eyes. I worked for a sound & lighting company for a while which was support for Willie's Tours. With that being said, Heaven is not closed for anyone unless we choose to close the door. You may never get a chance to live as long as Wilie Nelson so don't take any chances along the way with your soul. No matter how good your actions are, you cannot work, buy or wish your way into Heaven. There is only one way to get there and you can read about it in the Bible at John 14:6.

Willie Nelson you have always been my number one hero. And then right next to you is the great Tom Petty. You two and my most loved but now gone fiance are the best men that God ever made. But I'll have to say I loved you first and foremost. I have seen you many times. But the best time was on my birthday in Bristol TN. My group was the only ones standing and raising hell and singing along. And we say you watching us. Next thing we knew we were being escorted to the very front of the stage. I couldn't have been happier. Then you handed me your pick which of course I still have that says Willie Nelson and Family on it. That was one of my very best birthdays ever. You are an amazing man. And I have always loved your music since I was young. I'm 52 now and I still love it. And I really love to see you and Tom Petty together. He became my happy music after my fiance was killed in a car wreck March 31 2018. I am still consumed with pain. We were soul mates for sure. And we were in it for the long haul. I am as devastated today as I was the day it happened. But I want to thank you so much. And Tom Petty so much. You two have been my heroes you for so many years. And Tom for a long time. Once again a beautiful song from one of the best artists ever, he knows just how to sing, play, arrange.. amazing how his songs catch my inner feelings, and tells me that the smallest things in life matters more than winning a million dollar pot..I believe this song has something to do about the refugees in Europe, homeless families on the run from a sick war that they never asked for, unwanted all over Europe, heaven or hell is not the question, neither the answer..it`s all about surviving...or die in a foreign spot.
