This was one of our favorite songs. I never thought I'd have to live this song. My darling wife of 38 years died one month ago, on September 5, 2021. About 10 years ago we saw Willie in concert. He made eye contact with her and tossed a bandana directly to her. I have that bandana sitting on top of her cremains tonight as I listen to this song again. Bless you, Leah and Willie Nelson 💔👩❤️👨💔

Such a tearjerker watching these two perform this on July 4th, 2024. Willie was still ill - blowing his nose and quite breathless. Lukas and the audience helped him through most songs as he couldn't do it on his own. So glad I got to see him perform!!

I was a Willie Nelson fan from a very young age. Now I'm 71 and it occured to me this morning listening to this song that as I grow older, my heroes have also grown older and as my tastes in music have matured and changed so have theirs, and we still match!. I'm so grateful that I was able to grow old with these great country music talents,. What a joy to introduce Willy and Waylon and Johnny And George, and so many other greats to my grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thank God for RUclips where we can listen to oldies and the new songs and appreciate the talents of these fine people.

@Willie Nelson If this is really you, I would like to tell you what an influence you have had in my marriage. My husband passed away in 2010. His 66th birthday was August 20th 2010 and he passed September 20th 2010. I was 61 years old just the month before. As in all marriages, we had some really hard times. We split up once for a couple of months and when we got back together, he said your song "You were always on my mind" was his song to me. I listen to your song so often you can't even imagine. It gives me peace in my heart because I still love and miss him so very very much. I'm 71 now and will be 72 this year. We lost everything, including his life insurance money before he died. Actually, our business and personal bankruptcy filed the same day he died so I am still working full time and I guess I will until I join him in Heaven. I have told you this part just to let you know how very much your music means to me. Thank you and God bless you for all the comfort you give to all of us. I don't know words to tell you how much your songs have given me the strength to just keep moving forward. You are a precious person Mr. Willie Nelson and THANK YOU.

I am 18 years old and I'm glad I'm not like people at my school who doesn't even know who you are. I'm thankful for my dad because he introduced me to a wonderful artist. thank you for giving me the experience that most people don't get now a days with amazing music like this.
I'm 23 (1995) and I really love this song! He shows me how the true life is. The young people nowadays will be very hard to know a wonderful artist like him.

People need to understand that Willy is so far advanced a song writer and singer that you may not always take to it the 1st time out, he is like fine wine , beer or Caviar .You must develop a taste for his music, but once that happens you are hooked, he is super super special and wreaking with talent as was his best friend Merle Haggard. He ages like fine wine as well, better and better after every song, I challenge anyone to listen to It gets Easier or A Moment of Forever , listen 2 or 3 times close and you will be blown away by this man, I could go on about him and Merle for days, miss you Merle. Willy keep smokin the good stuff it seems to do you well. Also He wont Ever Be Gone with Ben Haggard on the lead WOW WOW

I never dreamed, when I first heard Willie singing at some Austin car dealership, at age 21, that Willie would one day be 83 and I'd be 65 and the music just keeps on getting better and better. Willie's music is the one constant in my life.

My friends said my dad had to be Willie Nelson, because I always listened to his music and had red hair. My hair was more copper, but to them it was the same. About 6 years ago I went to my first concert of his. 3 years ago I went to one that his son Lucas played at. it was amazing.
