    I just did this to my 2014 Durango. The vehicle was running hot and I saw a constant plumb of vapor coming from the area just under the cooler filter. I followed your tutorial and even used the exact Amazon part for the replacement. Other than having to fight with that second bracket on the driver's side that you were missing, this was an easy fix. Also, I had a very hard time bleeding the cooling system, as I had a ton of air and it was causing the two radiator hoses to collapse. I use the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing to help remove the air. Thanks so much for the video!

    Good Clear Video, I just did mine for second time . I had a oil leak/ faulty coolant sensor the first time at 85k, second time no oil leak but faulty Oil pressure sensor at 140k, I went with the same unit you got and replaced Spark Plugs and Coils at the same time. I also added a Baxter oil filter adapter to use a spin on filter and eliminate dry start Rattling, unlike the stock cartridge filter that lets all the oil drain back after 30 minutes.

    Thanks for the video, definitely made the job a lot easier! I changed mine on a 2017 Durango GT. The intake removal was a little different but other than that, it was spot on. To others that do the repair yourself, the replacement they sent me had 2 sensors on it while the one I pulled out only had the one so even though it said it would fit, I had to reorder mine that came with the plug so I could cap the 2nd sensor hole.

    I just did this job. I'm getting too old for this stuff. Hats off to the mechanics out there... this was rated an "easy" job. I managed to get the oil cooler out. However, I was not able to remove the old sensors. They were on there very tight and I broke them. They both cost about $70 each. I ended up breaking one of the new sensors too. Be careful putting these on. I wish I had a bench vice to hold the housing somehow while I tried to tighten these stupid sensors. I had to go back to the dealership to buy another one. Barely made it since they close at 3:00 on Saturday. The sensors ended up costing me more than the oil cooler housing. Total cost $400 in expensive Mopar parts. It would have been more if I didn't use the online ordering discount. The oil cooler housing was about $75 cheaper if ordered online. MSRP for the housing is $250. The only thing I feel bad NOT buying were those square white gaskets that go on that fuel rail assembly. They looked pretty used up. In all, the new oil cooler seems to have corrected the coolant leak issue and still saved $1000. Now I can remove the radiator cap and see coolant. Yippie

    Hi, i was wondering if i can please ask you a question i have a 2019 dodge Durango with only 45k miles. I am frustrated between the possibility that im not sure if its even possible that my Durango at such low miles that would need the oil cooler replaced just exactly how you show in this awesome very well explained video. Or in your Guess opinion i noticed that last time i did an oil change i accidentally left the top of my oil filter untightent enough where i can see still the little O ring inside the oil filter im hoping that could have caused all the oil i see on the way bottom of my transmission oil pan . And also see oil comming out of the very way top of where the oil filter connects to as well. Can this be a possibility that because i left the oil filter loose enough and been driving the vehicle for a few months now i just bearly noticed the numerous oil leaks spots n drops leaking several spots of oil in that whole period of maybe 2 months driving

      I would find a way to vacuum that oil out of the valley and rule the cap out before replacing the cooler. Having said that , I have seen these oil coolers leak at 40k , so it would not surprise me. I would take it one step at a time and keep an eye on the oil level . Appreciate the question.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  6 месяцев назад +1

      Not sure. I would back them all off and try to step them up from 75 inch pounds . Slowly increase the torque , until you feel it's not tightening. This will atleast determine how much torque they will accept. It could be they were overtitghtened previously and stripped , I have encountered this. I would say if you could atleast get 96 inch , it may be fine , just loctite the bolts. Only other option would be thread insert. Also get another inch pound torque wrench and make sure it's not the torque wrench out of calibration. Hope this helps.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  5 месяцев назад

      Is the pressure itself showing high or circuit high ? These aftermarket sensors can sometimes not all the times be finicky with Dodge/Chrysler. If it's circuit high , then I would get a mopar sensor and change it out. I have had to do the same thing before , but I have also had good success with the aftermarket sensors more times than not.
