100V to 18V Brushless Rotary Hammer Drill Conversion | BOSCH PBH 160R

- This video will show you step by step the process of converting a rotary hammer drill from AC100V to DC18V power tools. The original tool is designed for AC 100V power source. The problem with this power tool is that the switch is broken. It's hard to find that part in our country. One more thing is the power source, I need to use a 220V to 110V converter to run this tool. Cordless is easier than corded power tools, which is why I decided to convert this tool to a cordless power tool.
Components list
DC Brushless 18V
-DC 12V: no-load current 1.55A no-load speed 12500 rpm
-DC 18V: no-load current 2.25A no-load speed 18800 rpm
-DC 21V: no-load current 2.75A no-load speed 22000 rpm

The Ingersoll Rand 114GQC Air Hammer ruclips.net/user/postUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS was just the tool I needed. I Use it to remove stuck bolts. If held at the right angle you can cut slightly into the bolt. Then turn the air hammer to where it will hammer the stuck bolt to unspin the bolt. Given a little practice it works great. This air hammer gives you the control needed to get the job done right. Very powerful yet still does not seem to have as much vibration as other guns I have used. One of the best I have gotten my hands on.
Every time I watch your next video I think to myself ‘that’s his best one yet’! Your attention to detail is fantastic. Thank you 👍
Wow, thank you! I'm glad to hear that
It's amazing how much work You put to these pieces of machinery. Every button, motor and battery planned and trimmed so the one servicing this tool will have a simple job. Thanks man, keep on filming!
Thank you very much! I will do.
Service man ; This has Been TAMPERED !! WITH !! YOU'VE !! VOIDED !! THE !! LIFETIME !! WARRANTY !!
Hahaha!
I am from India. Seeing the title of the video and watching the conversion of the Drill I remembered an old saying in Tamil a language spoken in the Southern part of India. When translated into English it is something like this, "Asking for the direction to a Town to which you never ever want to Go".
The appropriate title would have been, "How to waste your time and money".

You have a very keen eye sir! Your measurements don't seem to be precise, yet everything fits so well and neatly! Great work!
Man you're an artist. Please don't stop making such videos ❤️
I'm so glad to hear that, thank you so much!
@@gear_show well done!!
Seus videos realmente me inspiram. Muito obrigado
Good job. I think a failure point may be where you drilled out one shaft, and pressed the other into it. After a while of hammering, I think one shaft will begin to slip, inside the other.
Great point! I will notice that, thank you!
I agree
You should add a small wormscrew from the side.
M3x6
Man that is such a nice Job!
By the way, I always use wood drills for plastic, keeps them centered better 12:24 ✌️😎
Nice, but I think that over time the drive shaft form the motor will begin to slip, where you pressure fit it into the old one. I would have taken a small metal file, filed a grove in the shaft and inside the old one, and used a small metal pin to make sure it doesn't slip.
if it slips, would it end up creating enough heat to friction weld?
I don't think it's really an issue considering it was that good of a press fit, but I would've liked to see some red thread locker or stud holder put in there for extra insurance

Wow, thanks! I'm so glad to hear that
I agree, it needs some kind of keyway

Hey.. I have that EXACT model drill (@ 220V) :)
This is the coolest design - looks like a gun from Judge Dredd.
I believe this is the 1st model 'BoschHammer'. Also the only model ever to have HAMMER written on the chassis.
(And, If I'm not mistaken, the only Bosch 'green' to have the BoschHammer name.. I think they moved the name to Bosch Professional (blue) after this one)
So it's a historical unicorn in the Bosch universe :)
Very good drill. Still works perfectly (I did change the grease to better grease, though. LucasOil Xtra Heavy Duty. I do that to most of my tools (: Better adhesion at high temperatures)
Maybe interesting to know;
The 220V version is also 420W.
Higher voltage, but less Amps
Pěkná práce. Hned při prvním testu. Jde od baterky jiskra.
by the thumbnail at first i have think that the drill has 22mm rails on the top 😂😂😂 nice Video 🙌🏻
Extremely impressed
this is more than a conversion. This is a restoration, modification, improvement, and just plain art.
Yes, you're right, thank you so much!

professional very good,,,👏👍
Very proper conversion 😍 may I know the different in power watt, torque, rpm after conversion?
Why?
@@corglass 😀 FYI: brushless motor is faster than brush one, although its torque is proper to fly not to drill. He gear it up for drilling but wouldn't work for a long time.
Good video mate . Keep going . You have nice videos and content 👍
excellent work
can you provide brushless motor details with link to buy the motor
Upgrade with brushless motor its so great 👏

There is a trick to drill stuff that can be clamped in a chuck, and its to fix the drill bit and turn the stuff
Tem como curtir duas vezes? 👏👏👏😁
