Cord to Cordless Angle Grinder Restoration Conversion

- I found this angle grind from a Japan recycle shop. It no longer works, I think it was abandoned in Japan. In this video, convert it from AC100v to DC 18V, the power is weaker than the original power, but it cuts well.
DC motor 895 price $6
- Original coil wire is 0.8 mm
- New coil wire is 1 mm
Bosch & Makita Battery Adapter $5 from China

I've only used this once to sharpen my mower blade ruclips.net/user/postUgkxPDBfLu68o58Aw85O_J-zIFfjJARBhp-3 but so far very happy with it. I've never used one of these so took me a bit to figure out how to set it up but once I figured it out it did the job just fine. This is likely a single purpose tool for me to use on my mower blade and possibly the occasional axe sharpening so didn't see any need to spend a lot....this will do just fine!

I love to see your patience re-doing the rotor However, it does NOT have only 40W power originally. That is the unloaded power. Next time put friction on the axle and record the peak current you get. Current will shot up as you try to stop it. That is the max power of the motor.

Why did you skip the last commutator segment and left the wire with insulation?
I'm a Huge fan of your work, I love the way you present your restoration and it means a lot to us when we are in need of such DIY restorations.
My only request is to see you restoring a Table Fan and making it run with 12v Bosch powertool Battery and an 895 DC motor, so that it could serve as an emergency fan in times of power outages who's is very important for fathers of small babies like me

Мне одному кажется, что её можно было попробовать починить - или шнур питания или кнопку или щётки зависли. По состоянию статора и ротора и его ламелей визуально бывает более убитые работают...
Если обмотки статора целые, то можно просто заменить якорь целиком. Мне пришлось перематывать статор самому, а якорь купил новый, болгарка отработала почти 15 лет😂
Именно ламели убивают щетки, если коллектору хана

Я тоже делал такую ушм.Только от акб авто с длинным проводом)) но всё равно купил ушм макита на акб и доволен)) каждому своё.
Я тоже так же сделал поставил мотор от шуруповерта и аккумулятор, один собран на 18650 или просто к авто аккумулятору подключаю проводом.
Макитовской пилил хорошо работает и хорошо в ней защита от перегрузки хорошая

In this case instead of rewinding the rotor
Use 20v dc motor from an old cordless grinder such as Bosch or makita
And use less grease for the head gearbox
And use a larger battery

Most brushed AC motors would give more power with DC as they are a compromise have boosted many a vacuum cleaner by inserting a bridge rectifier into the circuit.

I love your work
1. It is necessary to remove the impeller in the angle grinder motor, since it works in the opposite direction from the impeller on the outside of the motor. Two impellers will lead to unnecessary overheating.
2. Do not press or knock on the opposite race of the bearing. You can only press on the bearing race that is currently being pressed in. Otherwise, the bearing balls will push through the races and this will significantly reduce the life of the ball bearing.
3. Engine power is measured not at idle, but under load.
4. The cross section of the wires to the adapter must be larger. In them, the current strength can exceed 40 amperes.
5. The switch needs to be replaced, as it is not designed for a significantly increased current.

Thanks.but,I,ve question first time we saw .80mm copper wire and 16 turns.Then you said that motor power not enough.so you wanted that increase the motor power .I got that but when re-wending the motor you are not said how much turns you are use and what kind of copper wire you used.please,let me know.

а сколько оборотов получилось на диске?
на видео видно что еле еле пытается распилить, сильно проседают обороты, он на ускоренном пилит дольше чем на обычной болгарке. жизнь плоха без лоха )
