Great video man, I'm glad to see a real world demonstration, not just a marketing fluff piece. This can still has my interest. Since I already own a 7.62 Saker, it's be nice to have something a bit more modular, especially for pistol use. As for pistols, those that utilize Browning style tilt-unlocking mechanism have a difficult time operating with excessive weight on the muzzle (ie a suppressor) as it inhibits their ability to /tilt/ up to unlock and cycle. The Nielsen Device (or Booster) allows the barrel to unlock by pulling against the spring, therefore momentarily "floating" (essentially)to take the stress off of the barrel. Once the booster spring in loaded fully, the Suppressor accelerates toward the breech to "boost" the barrels natural upward/rearward inertia, as opposed to hindering it. Kind of a janky explanation, but the more technical ones cause my eyes to glaze over.
You shouldn't have to pound those baffles in like you are doing. The taper mount surface and the inside surface of the can needs to be clean. The baffles should drop in and the notches line up, they are not 180 apart.
Greatly disappointed by the lack of instructions that came with mine. Yours also came with more stuff than mine, such as your 3 vs my 2 end caps. The end caps also had no indication of their bore size. Great video, by the way.
thanks for the video, nice. i'm waiting on the ATF now.....i got mine from Silencer Shop. trying to not think about it during this ATF waiting time.....lol
The instructions say that the baffles have to have the slotted ports aligned. They'll lock together 180 degrees apart, but that's wrong. It won't work as well.
Thank you for this video. Not as easy as hey show on the other videos. Rather have several dedicated or have a 7.62 rifle and 45 acp suppressor to cover and have it easier.
+lunchboxbandits no you cannot. They only work with the extension tubes. I suppose you could screw a 1/2x28 taper mount onto a pistol barrel and then screw the optimus on there. However if your pistol has a tilting barrel it will not cycle properly and load the next round. Traditional pistols need the nielsen piston to function properly. If you have a pistol with fixed barrel then it should work.
+lunchboxbandits Not sure what you mean. They might have a direct thread option for the pistol mount. But if you want the muzzle brake then you have to use the extension. No way around it.
Just to be clear, silencer shop sent you all of those part as "basic" parts.....none of the parts shown were purchased as "extras"? Or was this sent to you as a "demo"? I'm just trying to figure out exactly what will come with mine
A LOT in this video is not included in the retail box. The 3 lug mount and muzzle devices, and the medium extension are not included. It comes with one 5/8" taper mount muzzle device. I put a taper mount muzzle device on all my guns I want to shoot quiet, so I had to buy three extra.

A wide angle lens would help a ton. A lot of the shots are out of frame. A lot of good info thought. Thanks.
thanks I just got mine and they didn't have any instructions with it so thank you for the info.
Louis Duncan sure thing. I figured if I am having problems someone else will. I'm glad this could help you.

Dude, you are my hero. Their video is a joke. Thanks!

I'm from Hong Kong .... support you man!!
What wrench do you use at the 11:11 mark of this video. I would love to get one.

+Truck Driver That would be easier but for those on a budget, this is not a bad option at all.
They should offer a case to put all these parts in because there is a lot to keep up with. Afraid I would lose a part..
I got a Pelican 1170 case for mine and it fits great.
The box it comes in has a molded foam piece that holds all the pieces.
@@10ringthe cardboard box. . .
@@stilltuckered .........that you take out and put in a better box.
Please update with the GEN version
Anyone else having trouble finding griffin taper mount muzzle brakes ?
Where did you get the multi-tool you are using?
ctwhaley It is called the Multitasker. I got it as a prize at a FNH USA 3Gun match
Thanks...
can you use the taper mount on the pistol configuration?

I just want the 6 inch silencer on my rifle, but don't want to only have the 3 lug,

+Solscud thanks, you answered my question about muzzle breaks and extensions
+lunchboxbandits happy to help.
Don’t do a video when you have a cold😢

+DT This is a demo unit. So I don't think it comes with all that stuff.
+DT Looking at Silencer Shop's website you do not get the Tri lug adapters and mount.
www.silencershop.com/griffin-armament-optimus.html
+Solscud that's what I thought. I was pretty sure I had to buy some of that stuff as extras

None of that stuff comes with it. They force you to spend hundreds to use it in most configurations. Predatory marketing at its best.
