    Love my Optimus! My kits different from what was on the table though. Extremely informative video & great to see you guys are expanding with you product line. The few friends that have suppressors want mine because it fits on everything I own & what they own but theirs don't! The configurations make possibilities endless & beyond worth it for the coin & wait. Also The 22 endcap does make a very noticeable difference in reduction especially depending on ammo choice. I would keep rambling but today is my range day. Keep up the great work!

    This was a great video Evan, i remember the first time I seen the optimus back in April. I wanted it right away. So it took 7 months to get out of the silencer jail and I have enjoyed it tramendously. I am already looking at another Griffin Armament silencer in a dedicated 9mm or 5.56. Thank you for creating this awesome silencer..

  • @gyrodriver4066
    @gyrodriver4066 4 года назад +3

    DISAPPOINTED. Just got mine. 9 months in trust, FYI. You do not get what you need for $1,100 plus $200. Pretty ridiculous that you can't run this on your 223 out of the box. You can put it on your 308 with with the taper mount OR you can run it on your 9mm IF it is a tilt barrel. So this great universal silencer can't run on the most popular rifle ever made, your AR15 without spending more. Now, am I going to go buy another adapter for my ARs, yes I have no choice, but what a joke. I guess if there were ONE part they know you're going to need to buy and they can get more money out of you for, that would be the one. Yeah, Yeah, I shoulda known, but for whatever reason they convinced me I had everything I needed. Would I have ordered anyway, yeah, BUT i also would've ordered a damn 5.56 adapter mount so I could actually use the damn thing when it showed up after 9 flipping months. So there goes another $100 and more waiting. Seriously, if you're going to include only one taper mount, it should probably be for the most common rifle, no?

    • @ronkoehler9463
      @ronkoehler9463 4 года назад +1

    • @rustyshackleford2267

  • @TweakRacer

    For either the mid/full-length configurations, neither comes with a 1/2x28 adapter (taper or 3-lug mount) to use with common .223/5.56 AR's?
    And for mid-length configuration, need the Minimalist Blast Shield (tube).

    • @gyrodriver4066
      @gyrodriver4066 4 года назад +1

      Correct. you can not mount it to the most popular rifle in the states with their included accessories.

    • @rustyshackleford2267
      @rustyshackleford2267 3 года назад +1

      Correct. Plan on spending hundreds on mounts if you want to actually use it in most configurations. Out of the box you can use it on a tilt barrel 9mm(its least suited use) or a .30 cal rifle. Thats all they say you can use it on although in theory the neilson device should work as a direct thread on a .22lr although they dont tell you that. Even the accessories will require extra spending to use. No thread protectors included. They know you will drop the $17 on a protector. They are super light and weak feeling aluminum if you do get one.

  • @donwallace7354
    @donwallace7354 5 лет назад +3

    At around the 13:00 mark, you finish up with what comes in the box, and say that it's good for 9mm pistol, 30 cal rifle and 22 rimfire. I didn't catch how 22 rimfire is provided for in the box. The piston has 1/2x28 threads, but won't I still need the fixed spacer, which is not in the box?

    • @GriffinArmamentOfficial
      @GriffinArmamentOfficial  5 лет назад +4

      You can run it with the pistol booster and provided 1/2x28 piston without a fixed spacer on 22 rimfire. There's not enough powder/power in rimfire cartridges to stroke the piston and cause any damage. So its good to go!

    Overly wordy, too long. Show how to stack for Pistol, Show how to stack for AR, Show how to stack for bolt action. Just show stack for each three individually. I don't use the piston assembly as a wrench. I use a jeweler's spanner wrench and keep it in my cleaning kit and you can use it to change your watch batteries or to adjust a slow or fast watch.

    I got the A2 Blast Shield/A2 Mount, it fits all my 1/2x28 birdcages, but on all 5/8x24 birdcages (300/762x39), the ring is just too big with the thread hole almost all the way to the outer material. Does anyone know which company or manufacturer that makes their 5/8x24 A2 birdcages fit the Griffin A2 mount. I notice that the Griffin 30SD flash hider is extended where the two rings are not near the threads but are farther up. The reason for buying the A2 Mount was to save money on muzzle devices. I have tried 5/8x24 Birdcages from Kak and Midway(ARStoners), They are a little too big to fit the A2 mount main body and the rings are too big to fit concentric.
    Will Griffin be making an extended 5/8x24 Birdcage for the low prices as Normal A2 birdcages? I know your 30SDs($100) will fit but that defeats my purpose. Or do anyone knows or has experience with a 5/8x24 birdcage that works with the Griffin A2 mount. If you do patent the extended 5/8x24 birdcage, remember me. Extended where the two rings are, because of the threads, not extended where the birdcage is. They already have those.

      The Optimus is compatible with AR15s chambered in 556 in the short configuration when using the plan A adapter or the 3 lug interface. It is not compatible with the short pistol configuration. The use of the Optimus on a 556 with the piston and fixed barrel spacer will likely cause damage to the piston, booster retaining nut, baffles, and end cap. For any damage to the suppressor, please reach out to our customer service team via email, and get them some pictures of the damage along with an explanation of how the damage occurred.
