    CMMG makes an already cut barrel (not sure if they are still making it) and Huntertown arms makes the barrel end adapter. You can also have a machinist/gunsmith cut the factory barrel. Once that is done, any good 556 can works. The silencerco sparrow and specter II are both 5.7 rated. I like the Gemtech Trek T on the end, super light and crazy quite.

    An informative video, was hoping you would cover integrated suppressors as well though.

    Awesome! I thought I had heard of just about everything. First encounter with a grease can. I will say from my experience the mono core do have a slightly louder first round pop. But are equally as impressive the 2nd shot on. And trading a few DB for the ease of cleaning is fine with me.

    Bowers makes a product called "Griptastic" which is a silicone sleeve fitted for your size suppressor. It does not add much size but is a GREAT addition to your investment so you do not get burned and can touch, screw on or off, your suppressor while insulating you from the intense heat. I have them and they are fantastic....yes the Griptastic is Fantastic. I highly recommend them for anyone who owns a suppressor.

    Informative video. Since my State OKd suppressors last year, I've been trying to garner as much info as I can before making my decision. Thanks.

    if I use a k baffle design suppressor on a .300 blackout ar platform with a 16" barrel, will running regular supersonic ammo thru it damage the suppressor?

    Which design reduces the sound signature the most?

      depends upon a variety of factors. monocore designs can vary differently from one another as can baffles. also depends upon the gun and ammo.

    I've got a question, I know this is an older video but it's really interesting. Here's the deal, I'd like to purchase a McMillan CS5 rifle, in the "stubby" version. I'd like to use this to target shoot and the gun is so beautifully designed. This comes with a suppressor and the barrel is way shorter than the (16.5"?) standard requirement.
    My understanding is that because I'm a "citizen" that in order to obtain this, I would need to get a Form 4. Is this correct? Also does one have to pay the $200 fee for both the SBR and the suppressor? Or is it a single $200 fee if it's part of the weapon system?

      OneTwentyMN If you could pass a NICS check and you live in a state that allows NFA Firearms you should be ok.

    Why this "catching" of gases all the lenght of the suppressor? I can not see the idea in it. Do not those just take space from the gases to expand?

  • @modernpawn

    mono core suppressors also seem less expensive (all else being equal).
    Stay tuned, I have a video coming out on first round pop
    thanks for watching.

    mono core take more precise machining than baffles

    • @EPC-ue2ci
      @EPC-ue2ci 9 лет назад

      mcc 1522 by this i mean it takes more time and probably more machining. baffles are simple the mono core is not as simple and the machine whatever is being used needs to work around the ruffles and trusses in the core where as a baffle is basically a cylinder that is shaped inside and out
