I am 60 and saw them live in San Diego in 78. I was stationed at MCRD San Diego. I'm betting this is from that concert; watch the video of "Straight On" I saw a bunch of great acts that year. The music from back then was much more "natural" back then.
Your damm skippy , todays musicians can not , do not , & will never a have half the talent of the bands of yesteryear , especially the female bands or the vocalist supremacy of Anne ,the only one that i will credit to today is mariah carey ,that girl has the lungs .
I'm 31. Favorite band is Rush. Grew up on Heart as well. Love them. Got to meet my favorite guitarist, Steve Vai. Most amazing night of my adult life. But look, just because technology has increased and the pop music industry has castrated mainstream music of any heart and soul and depth, that does not mean that today's musicians are not as good. They just aren't blasted on mainstream stations because the music industry has conditioned the masses to listen to fluff about high school romance with no real musicianship. Listen to any band in the Djent genre and tell me there is no talent. The talent today dwarfs that of the previous decades, to the point that I can't keep up with it. Those of today's youth who value true musicianship have built on the shoulders of the musical giants and have taken it far beyond what anyone has done. The obstacle is the mainstream music industry telling them "less is more" and to "keep it simple" because "no one likes deep, complex music" and that "people just want a hook and a verse, and some electric noises to keep them happy." The other obstacle is their parents telling them there is no money in the music industry, people in YOUR generation discouraging them (I was one of the ones discouraged by this) by saying they need to get a REAL job, and that music is an irresponsible way of living their life. But by all means, continue to think that there is no talent anymore just because you are closed-minded and won't listen to anything but 60's and 70's Rock, and just because today's music doesn't sound like the good old days of your youth, there is still TONS of talent out there. You just have to know where to look, and don't pass off what moves someone else (but not you) as talentless, soul-less crap. Kids these days.... No, there are those of us who value depth, soul, technique, and put our heart into it. Don't judge this generation's musical capabilities by the machine known as pop music. Rant over.
I was there for this performance! Absolutely astounding performers. I went to this concert in love with Ann's voice and left blown away by Nancy's playing.
I saw them the year before at Convention Hall in Asbury Park on the day Elvis died. They closed the show with Zeppelin's "Rock n Roll" and dedicated it to the King.

I’m a 60 year old dude now, but I had their Dreamboat Annie album when I was in the sixth grade and was blown away. They have never failed to blow me away. Ann’s vocals are absolutely astounding and Nancy is not only phenomenal on guitar, she is a showman/person/woman. Nancy is hotter than hell as she steps out of the baddest crescendo in rock in roll !!
Still rockin today some 50yrs later. This is what real music from real musicians sounds like. No lip syncing.. no autotune.. no computer generated music. Music from my youth
What seems to get lost in the (totally justified) awe & admiration of Ann & Nancy is the fact that the rest of the band are virtuosos as well --- lead guit. & drums in particular -- and the truly incredible tightness...not to mention the harmonies -- bands with more than 1 good vocalist are un
The talent gene 🧬 runs strong in the Wilson family.
These ladies were rockin it when Pat Benatar and Joan Jet and the Runaways where still going through puberty. They just get better and better. The Road Home… stellar! When they performed Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center for Led Zep with Boy Bonham on the drums I was incredulous. I am happily married but I will always be in love with these two beautiful musicians. I BEG of you Ann and Nancy, keep blessing our souls with your music. Never ever stop. And THANK YOU BOTH!
In 1981 I lived on Capitol Hill in Seattle, WA , USA. I lived just down the street from these ladies. I used to go for a run everyday past there place. I always fantasized that one day one of them would come out and just happened to talk to me. Loved their music!!!!
Geezus, Nancy…that guitar work was absolutely beautiful! Bring Ann in on vocals… blow my mind, Ladies!
Just saw Ann last week, 8/23/23 in NH. She was awesome. Sounded just like Ann. GO SEE HER!
❤
Appearing in my home, Finland, 2024 first time ever, Heart. Nice
I just realized , I have had a crush on Nancy Wilson for 45 years .
Why is watching and listening to this video bringing me to tears? I'm glad I was able to see Heart live in concert back in those early days. Such energy and raw talent just pouring out on that stage.
Quite likely the greatest acoustic guitar intro of all time. Ann has the most powerful voice of any female vocalist in Rock and Roll.
Nancy is a killer guitar player !! 🤘♥️
Never Ever gets old.....
I've watched this video about 10 times. Frickin' crazy awesome. Lead vocals.....whatever....everything! The backing vocals are hauntingly freakingly so damn good. And this band, everyone, at this point in their careers, was SO damn into their music. It's SO good.
Song begins at 2:30. Though Nancy was working pretty hard up till then.
Nancy's switch to a new pick and that sexy jump kick-start to the hard strumming is one of the great moments captured in live rock.
Where can we find this type of music these days …. Amazing
You can't. All that we can do is enjoy what we had.😊
This is the song they'll sing at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame ceremony tomorrow ...with the original band...it's going to be EPIC!!!
Just gonna leave this here :
NANCY WILSON IS BADASS !!!!!
These ladies became my favorite band in 1977 and still rockin it almost 40 years later with the same awesome sound as they had back then.
The Wilson sisters awesome
