Willie Nelson said it best, "There are two kind of men in the world. Those who have a crush on Linda Ronstadt and those who don't know who she is". Remarkable talent.
Lol how true Willie your a treasure too
I know which camp I'm in.....
Remarkable very pretty lady
She's just so good and look at her giving her band their props, very Cool
@@vincentberte7675she had no ego. She just wanted to do music and didn’t really seem invested in how pretty and just cool she was.
Back when real musicians still existed. No Autotune or computers. Real Talent, Real Music.
We will never have music like we did in the seventies.
We used to listen to live bands in clubs every weekend.
Sorry for the new generation.
Disco killed everything.
Linda Ronstadt is the GOAT. There is no pop singer today that can walk up to a microphone-with no sweetening, auto tune, backing tracks-and blow the roof off the place.
Hailey Reinhart does, and she would make linda proud
@iowa61 ... AMEN!
You're forgetting pat benetar
@@edwinarnold4865 Not at all. Benatar’s great. She’s no Linda. And that’s no insult.
Another example of how the 70s was the pinnacle of rock and pop music.
And she didn't need to wear a bathing suit surrounded by dancers like the pop stars of today.
Unbeatable so far! Fantastic
Music will never be this good again.
Don't know any teenager in the 70's that wasn't in love with Linda! A STELLAR voice!
I'm still in love with Linda almost 50 year's later !
Count me in the "love Linda" line. Class of '77
I still am, very versatile vocalists and she is an awesome person. How's that hapen
FACTS, best live vocal and performance
How about grade school kids not really into music stopped in their tracks long enough to listen to moms radio.
It's really hard to imagine that music like this FLOODED the airwaves during the 60's and 70's. No funky tattoos. No strange names. No gimmicks. Just raw talent developed through years of singing and playing presented with straightforward honesty.
Funky tattoos? You sounds sooooooooooo lame, Boomer. LMAO. And I am the first year of Gen X. The cringe is hard but real to read this.
To be fair, the artists of the 60s and 70s only seem tame retrospectively. Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger, Elvis… they may not have had tattoos, but they were certainly shocking and upsetting to certain people in their day.
Those were the glory days for music. I was fortunate to be alive during those times.
A lot of it was born of no TV and religious singing. People and families had a culture of entertaining themselves and that probably created the rock and roll era. One might conclude the very things that now stifle creativity were used to show it off.

So?
Linda is responsible for the Eagles getting together. Linda is a national treasure in talent, beauty and grace.
She helped them get together...
Then she opened her mouth about Trump
@@MrJSpicoli So? Then you came here!!!
OH YEAH!.
@@MrJSpicoli She was right. So what?
We were unaware of the wonderous times we were experiencing during the 70's, as some of the most beautiful music made waves every week.
I was aware.
Long Live the 1970s! BEST TIME TO GROW UP!
I was preteen and VERY aware.
True fuckin story
It's so obvious that the chemistry of the all-male band revolves around Linda being impressed with their musical prowess. Sounds fantastic. Perfect paradigm.
The song, her, all if it~ still as powerful today as when it was first released....Classic.💜
No vocal auto-tune. Just a perfect groove and timing by all. Absolute gold.
Like BOB SEGER said, "Today's muzik ain't got the same soul... I like that old time Rock 'n Roll." This ain't memorex... this is LIVE!! "LINDA" was a powerhouse vocalist!! AND "ANDREW GOLD" was a super talented song writer and guitarist!! HOW SAD that muzik has become so electronic, automated and commercialized.
To know her is to love her.
That’s what it means to know Linda Ronstadt’s music. You either heard it, or you know little bout the 70s.
The BEST decade in music.
Linda had a knack for gathering great musicians together.
Linda Ronstadt is what the universe creates when it's showing off. Real, rare and remarkable.
Great comment
Love your comment. Yes, she’s quite amazing.
Robust power and unadorned sorrow. Linda's pipes were glorious and the Boyz in the bands adored her- we still do.
Seriously. Genetic lottery. Rare gem of a voice, writing, graceful stage presence, smart, gorgeous.
I’m ripping off that compliment. True dat what you said about this queen. 💯❤️✌️👸🏻✨✨
Linda and Olivia Newton John were the chit back in the day ...
All i ever wanted to do was sing back up for a linda ronstadt song!!
I've been listening to this song by her for 50 yrs. At the last measure, hairs on my arms still standing up.
I pray to Jesus that Linda is doing well. She is amazing.
I like that 99% of the people in the audience are men. We we all in love with Linda at the same time.
We will never see the likes of this type of musician again.
Linda Ronstadt is who god created when he wanted to show off!
Rare & remarkable.💕
This is true talent. Not the shit you get from Madonna.
No fair knocking Madonna. For whatever you take away from her, she wrote most of her stuff. Linda did not. Madonna led and went against the grain for a long long long time.
Did Madonna really write her material or did she negotiate a writing credit for including it on her album?
glammie she didn't have that kind of power, especially early on. she wrote that stuff. and believe it, if she didnt, she'd be getting sued now.
Tamara Jacobs
I beg to differ, Madonna is an, extraordinaryly, talented pop singer.
She did amazing work, with the voice she had, and to her credit, developed it quite a lot.
She IS an artist.
You mean Madonna is also to blame for writing that racket she screeches?
1976 and sounds better than anyone today live!
Oh my 'God', look at those beautiful molten eyes!
Woody
right up there!!!... one of the finest singers ever!!
I wish I could live in 1976 forever
And ever and ever...
Yasss
the best of times
Me too.
Feeling a lot better listening to Linda Ronstadt. A brilliant track sung by the BEST female singer of all time. She's So Good. Baby she's SO GOOD. Bloody brilliant❤.
Nobody has covered this song not even close thank you LINDA ONE OF VOICE THAT CANT BE DUPLICATED
Damn...you are correct I think...no one dare touch this song
@@frankbroker726 As good as Van Halen was, they stunk on their cover
Fortunate to grow up where and when I did (but I guess we all are). Carlos Santana lived on our block and liked my mother (she wasn't interested unfortunately). Didn't see him in person until I was much older; on stage from about 10 feet away. He used to hang out with my uncle and his friends in the Mission. I was around a lot of them and took it for granted. Still a great life.
I forgot just how good she is and the band
Excellent. Great jam .. Reminds me of the good old days..🎸🎸🎸🎸😎
Never knew Andrew Gold could play guitar that good!
Linda followed you since the 1973 and still love your music I salute you
I hope he hears me in Heaven; I miss you so much Kim. David hasn't been out of the hospital a whole day and he is off and running to this one and that one.
Damn that girl has pipes! a forgotten (maybe) gem of the past. You go girl and rock forever!
Forgotten no longer. Biopic in the works.
🔥😊🎼☮️🙏🌈
I had broken up with college boyfriend and had this playing loud in my house and singing along, when he walked in unexpectedly and said what are you listening to?😅
Radiant, gorgeous Linda belting it out. Without a doubt, a classic performance.
That band is tight, tight tight and they are enjoying themselves immensely! Who wouldn't enjoy playing behind an angel?
That flower in her hair - it always gets me ! THIS is how i see her in my minds eye, always and forever
If you listen to Linda do an interview she has no ego at all. One of the most down to earth people ever.
In all the years that I have been a fan of Linda's I have never heard a negative story about her acting like diva I've heard nothing but positive things about her professionalism and the respectable manner that she treats people
She's a beautiful soul
Hot instruments, perfect harmonies, powerhouse lead, no dancers, no lasers, no distracting lights. Just incredible musicians making incredible music. My god how I miss this!
No cell phones!!!
Great music and singing. This is the real thing!
I hear ya!!!
It seems there's millions of us that have the same sentiment that you put nicely into words. Many millions. We were the "Baby Boomers". We're a market that could be filled. Don't know why they're not filling.
Crowd sits like they watching a play. No one bobbing or tappin a foot I mean damn!
Scored major dad points back around '84-'85 when I surprised my daughter with tickets to see them at the Hampton Coliseum.
Real talent.. no special effects, no fancy costumes or circus tricks, no sound or music hiding the lack of real talent. Wonderfully professional. When you compare todays so called artists.. there is no real comparison.. Not much real voices today, nor real talent..
What a world we had of great musicians. Bring this back.
Didn't remember how cool this guitar solo was. Finally learned it this morning. Fun stuff. Also forgot how she could sing. Amazing pipes. She introduces the band with this cute feminine voice and then belts out the lines with serious power. So awesome to witness.
Totally agree
I couldn't agree more. Linda's amazing and her band does an outstanding job.
There is no song written that Linda and this band can not improve.
What if I said, "The best singer ever?"
She's a CLASS act, she's so Good. Brilliant.
Nobody could do it like "the barefoot girl"...simply the best !!
I was 15 years old in 76 and I had a big time crush on Linda still do
As if Linda wasn't one of the all time greats, having both Waddy Wachtel and Andrew Gold in her band is the icing on the cake.
This is what happens when 1) you have talent, 2) you rehearse, 3) everyone in the band commits to doing their best, and 4) the lead singer knows how to get out of the spotlight when it's time for the other musicians to shine. Outstanding performance by Linda and the whole band!
Well said
Agree 100% one of the best live performances I’ve ever heard
Steve DeHaven exactly right! I’m very fortunate to have seen the early Eagles, then with Walsh later. I seen Lynyrd Skynyrd as far as a band that could bring it.
Linda Ronstadt had pipes. One of my most favorites ever.
the key word is rehearse. and beyond rehearsal is practicing your craft. Linda had so much natural talent, but she didnt just walk up to a mic and belt it out. Vocals are like playing and instrument and you must learn your craft.
Very well said!
Play it backwards for access. Linda Ronstadt...sigh.
This is my favorite Linda Ronstadt song..!!!! I actually sang backup with a young lady, who nailed it at karaoke last week.... thank you... reeling in the years..And... Yes... Mr Dilly is still in Love with Linda Ronstadt 2024!!!👍🎸😎❤️
Beautiful woman , great voice ! There won't be anyone like her ! Grew up listening to her in the 70's and still do to this day . When 8 tracks went out I got the cd ! She and her voice are so very sexy and beautiful ❤❤❤❤
In 1976 I was 16. This was my favorite SONG
I was born in June of 76. 😆 ❤
11
I was 14 in 1976 and I came of age musically with Frampton Comes Alive, then Led Zeppelin, Bad Co., etc. I knew who Linda was but did not appreciate her awesome power and magic until years later. Today she is my favorite all time female singer and I enjoy her videos and her slaying talent immensely. ❤
MY FIRST CRUSH 😍
Ditto!
I was 23 in '76 & I've always had a big crush on Linda. One of my favorite female singers of all time. It breaks my heart to hear that she's suffering like this.❤💔
We were all young once.
How well I remember seeing beautiful Linda when she came to Harrisburg during the Three Mile Island crisis. She wore jeans and a fur coat. She sang Home on the Range for an audience in front of the Pennsylvania capitol. At first we didn't get it. Then it sank in : home on the RANGE!
Pay attention kids. No music is being made like this for your generation.
As a 56 year old, I know this statement to be false.
@@charleswettish8701 Of course it is if you are into Autotune and digitized instruments.
Plenty of great current singers. Black Pumas and Shortparis come to mind, but there's plenty more. The guitar solo in the "official live session" of Colors is one of my favorite leads ever. Not "digitized".
The fact is there is much, much more great music being produced now than ever in history, but, yes, along with it is a staggering amount of shit that does not get sorted out by publishers like it used to.
Lady Gaga's Star Spangled Banner at the inauguration is about the best there's ever been. No "auto tune".
@@ryanu3708 you do realize most modern singers use old singers as their inspiration and what rap is the only genre now a days using autotune most of the time
@@charleswettish8701 Linda's version was pretty dang awesome! She sang it at a ball game way back when.
Andrew Gold-gone too soon, multi instrumentalist , songwriter, legend.
this is what was happening in the 70s. the best decade of music history.
It is 11:58 pm 2023 new years eve and I am jamming with
Linda.
What is most impressive to me about Linda is the fact that she could really belt out a song without sounding like she was screaming. It actually came out like words were supposed to.
She'd get right on the edge, push that envelope, then bring it back.
Amazing band!!!&
Yes like real singing 🎤🪕🎸🎊🎉☮️
Absolutely agree there
Yes, she had one of the stronger vocal deliveries in the business, then or now. Not many like her. But, the most interesting thing about her according to documentaries is that she enjoyed sex, and fucked like a banshee back in the day. I always thought of her as a little nymphet but had no basis for knowing what she was like in person, other than she had no problem being bra-less back then. She could sell a rock tune. Plus, she had good players to support her.
MINIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A nice live song to listen to, back when you had to have musicians that were in it for the love 🩷
The absolute BEST version of this classic !
Bravo 🎉❤🎉
This is not folk music. THIS IS ROCK’n ROLL. She is the Queen.
I'm not from that generation and let me tell you from my point of view, it is hard for me to even imagine such a woman! That voice was a force of nature and she had great songs and her style and look is off the charts man.
What about Anne Wilson, Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett and Janis Joplin?
Thanks for your comment and for being a fan, God bless you.... I text you on here because you're a big fan and you seems to be a very nice person 😍
Damn what a band! They melted those guitars! And Linda blew them away, again
I recently had a discussion with two friends they were not familiar with Linda Ronstadt, then they said but she didn't sing her original music that she copied from others. I played some music and Linda Ronstadt took to the charts that original artist couldn't do that fix that.
I was 3 yrs old when this came out!!! I feel like it's part of my DNA!! Linda Ronstadt makes me proud to be a Mexican American woman.
linda set the bar so high no body will ever reach it, except the man on the moon.
Aja - what a lady - smitten by that kitten with boxing gloves. A woman in front standing behind you - priceless princess
Use to see Linda hanging out before concerts in LA back in the 70's. Thhings were so different then. It was a new day a different time. Glad I was there.
She had to be the most versatile singer of the time, possibly ever! So good with everything she sang!
I saw Linda live in 1979 or 80. A total mess, drunk, coked up for days and wild eyed. That was me of course, she was awesome.
nookam Lol. I'm sure she was.
haha Good One ! Thought you meant Linda !
LOL... Thanx man ;0)
LOL funny!
I was gonna say, "that's awesome," but, that's awesome. Lol.
There are 2 types of men in this world those that love her & those who don't know her
I was a teenager. I loved Linda than and now. Them first loves
I always say the 60's and 70's rock are the most blessed music eras. What an incredible time to have been alive.
My parents had me as an 80s baby listening to Dr. Hook, Fleetwood mac, Linda, Eagles, Stones, Doobies, Bee Gees, Ozzy and more. again what a time to be alive.
You are absolutely correct! I lived in the Bay area in the 60's and 70's and wouldn't trade any moment for anything. Spent so much of my time at Winterland, Fillmore, Golden Gate Park, Kezar Stadium listening to ALL the great bands without dancers, voice correction, looping, lip syncing etc.... What a great time and place to be a teenager!!!
If I could live it all over again, I’d never miss a great TV appearance like this, and would find the cash to see even more live band shows than I did.
I agree 💯 %. I saw many concerts general admission. We would push our way up near the stage and amps. I remember not hearing right for a week LOL. But we had the greatest. Hell we had the Beatles!!! There will never be a generation of musicians like that again. Too much has changed. ✌️🎶👍☮️🎹🎼

It's hard to find good musitions that listen to you and perform with quality, you did it.
God, she was beautiful, vocally and physically.
It's said over and over, but this is an all time great performance. Her vocal, her stage presence, and the band that just slays, while being able to leave space. Spot on backup vocals too, and a killer instrumental jam. I've shared this clip more times than I can remember.
100% agree! This clip is my most shared of Linda's catalog. This extended jam is the pinnacle of live art.
If you closed yours eyes you wld think you were listening to her record that's how good she is. Real talent no auto tune
This is why Linda was and is the best Taylor can't hold a candle period
I knew an Army Vet-truck driver he wore out his Linda R cassette driving back and forth from CA to AZ this was in the 80's
Walked into a concert in the 70's, tagging along with nothing else to do, and heard the Eagles open for Linda Ronstadt. Lucky night for me. I wore the grooves our of Ronstadt's albums.
I too, saw her with the Eagles as her backup band 1974 I think. Dan Fogelberg was on the bill also in Sacramento Memorial Coliseum Not too shabby,eh?
One of the few reasons I'm glad I'm 61 is the fact that I got to see Linda Ronstadt live when I was in high school. It was amazing and I swear I and all my friends fell in love with her.
Boy did we all love you Linda.
My mother had this album and my sister and I would sing along to this song...my mom looked like Linda in this video I miss her but watching this reminds me of when I was younger
Sorry to say that I wasn’t into Linda back then. I was into other music. I’ve heard all the other stuff. Now I get it. Linda Rondstat and Band Maid are the best.
I HAVE TOTAL RESPECT FOR THIS WOMAN SO HONEST. WHAT A BAND. SORRY TO HEAR WHAT HAPPENED TO HER IN LATER LIFE.
Hell yeah!! Awesome Voice.
Yes Harish it gets you in the super secret Linda Ronstadt fan club. A very select organisation ❤️.
