I was 28 and they thought I was 21 and were so stoked with me up until that point. The second girl told me straight up. "I can't do that. That's just too weird for me. You're my older brother's age." She did try to continue after that, because of how much she had liked me before that point, but brought it up again and then started talking to someone more her age. It's freaking heart breaking to start liking someone and have it come to a dead halt over that.

I always was more mature than other people in my age. I loved to learn new stuff instead going out to clubs. Also being INFP-T have a lot here to say. But what made me an old soul is that my parents thought as I'm the oldest from my siblings I can do everything by myself and I don't need their help. While I still really did need that. They focused on my younger siblings, while I was left alone. I didn't have a childhood. I was mature while I was already 12 years old. At 29 I feel like I'm a 80 years old. People come to me for advice and vent about their problems, but they never think about it I need it too. Being old soul sucks and is massively lonely.

    The old souls:
    - Are inspiring and spiritual, they know a lot about life even if they're young.
    - They're highly nurturing with the people around them, other people considere them "essential".
    - They're mature, responsible and patient. Because of being an old soul, they know that life is based on always learning about ourselves and do what's better for the world, and they don't find stupid excuses to justify their behaviors.
    - They doesn't want excessive attention, they're fundamentally focused on others and attentive of what's going on around, they can appear calm and uninterested but they're just captivating every moment and every word from people to fully understand all around.

Only when you see the big picture and feel the situation you can instantly drop a joke on purpose at a dire moment.

I’m just sharing my 2 cents. When I was a younger kid I remember hating the word mature. It was a way a lot of the people around me describe themselves. I also didn’t like the idealization of it because I saw so many kids wanting to grow up so fast and be “mature”. That created a whole generation of problem kids who never developed proper coping mechanisms so anxiety and depression skyrocketed in teens(not to mention the amount of kids my age who use substance-abuse). From the ages of 9 to 12 I was genuinely scared of being a teenager and if I would become someone I don’t like, at 13 I was in denial of being one. I personally still have a lot of problems with the word mature. Mostly because I don’t think it’s anything to be proud of if the people who really call themselves mature are mature. Honestly I haven’t had the best experiences with those people especially the self-proclaimed “moms of the group”. With that being said I don’t personally believe in an old soul. However I do believe in a soul but I don’t really think mine has an age.

I was resolving, and I was there for those who didn't feel as well as others. Quite relieving to hear that I, a 2002 baby, shouldn't feel too hated upon from my age group. Those "friends" make me look infamous, even to this day. No worries, this was two years ago and the last thing I ever let happen to myself.

And I've had people who have been dating for years ask me advice on love when I only recently entered my first relationship. I spend time with people, I have sound advice for the people I care about , know how to lift them up, when they're feeling down, material possessions don't hold me down and I see the bigger picture . But I'm also not too much into learning(though I acknowledge that it's important), I don't always thinks through and I'm not that good at leading a simple and balanced life.

I think the "old soul" aspect just refers to one's proclivity for quietly observing a situation, for minimal and precise involvement, a Sun Tzu in a world of Napoleons. In the aspects you described, I would be called an old soul quite easily; but due to slight developmental issues, I can also have some emotional instability and lash out in tense situations. I would like to think an old soul is also more temperate than I am.

I'm an ISTJ girl, and definitely an old soul ! I'm matured than my age. When I'm 14, my soul is 17. When I'm 18, my soul is 21. I'm always thinking bigger picture. Because I had start working at 18 (after graduate from Malaysia national exam SPM), compared to my friend who are working at 22 or 23 (after graduate from degree); difference of 4-5 years of working experience in society makes differences in between me and my friends.
When I'm 26 (8 years of working experience) & my 1 friend named as Nicky who did part time job since she's 14 till graduate SPM (part time job of 4 years), then working overseas (working holiday at New Zealand for 2 years before further study at university) have a tea time with my 2 same-age friends (3-4 years of working experience), 4 of us are having chat, me and Nicky are keep listening to other 2 friends who keep nagging & complaining non-stop about their subordinates, uplines and boss. Me and Nicky stay chill, and not complaining so much about our problems.
I said, "Working experience is part of our life, that's how we learning in our life, just get your job done", and Nicky said, "Everywhere is the same no matter which company you work, as long you can tolerate and endure it, you'll be fine, just fulfil your responsibility." Our conclusion at the end, "If you're not satisfied, resign, find a new job". The other 2 friends are silent, and change to other topics ...
Now, I'm 29, still learning, because I enjoy learning something new that sparks my interest, because it's Happy Learning !

Yeah, mine comes from trauma. And the fact that I had to grow up early, missing out on my childhood in all measures. But now, as an adult, it’s hard to make friends or rely on healthy relationships because most of the people around me aren’t on the same maturity level as me or think the same way or appreciate the same things as I do.

I've often been told that I'm an old soul and that I'm wise beyond my years. I really do feel like I've lived longer than I have or that I've been here before at some point.
I have Apserger Syndrome, (a form of autism), so I'm neurodivergent and I feel that ties into it as I've always felt very different to other people in the way I carry myself.
I am very much the "group mum", the one people come to for advice, as people say I'm very calming or give off soothing vibes and I've often wondered why people are so naturally drawn to me in that sense.
I feel other people's emotions on a deeper level and actually found out from my therapist that I'm an empath which makes so much sense after all these years of wondering if I'm just very oversensitive.
I also love to learn. I just go where my mind takes me. I really enjoyed French when I was at school so I'm refreshing on it currently as well as learning Japanese and Italian.

I am 15 and I believe that I am no doubt an old soul. I have always been more mature for my age group and I have always done well in school and wish to know more. When teenagers are having a conversation around me, I have no idea what they are talking about most of the time. I don't have any close friends my age because I can't relate to them, but my family is my world. I tend to keep most of my feelings to myself and I am not too social of a person. But when I am, I would much rather hang out with old people than anyone my own age. I love listening to their stories and I have a deep down longing to live in a different time period. I have a phone but I don't hardly use it because I don't see the point. I watch TV shows that are at least 60 years old, listen to music that no one else my age has heard of and absolutely love old cars. I also get up at 5am every day just because and I am in bed by 8pm. Things that I enjoy in my free time are sewing, quilting, reading and working. Sometimes I do feel lonely and wish to have someone like myself to be with, however I do like the way I am and I am happy to be different and have an old soul.

For me, the first point is rather rare, unless involving close family or friends of mine (which aren't many). With the second point, it depends on what I'm learning. I've never been much for academics, but that doesn't mean I don't like to learn other things outside of that from time to time. I do lightly research topics that I wonder about or that catch my attention. As for the third point onwards to the last, I can definitely relate to every single one. The fifth point is a bit sketchy, I have a few material possessions of value to me personally, but I'm not keen on owning too many material possessions. Anything I do own, I treasure and find it very difficult to just "throw away and get a new one".

  • @mangantasy289
    @mangantasy289 2 года назад +4

I sure relate to most of those traits. Especially the material possessions, clothes etc, even from quite young age one (I remember my classmates following hypes of some brands and I just never could relate). On the other hand I always feel like I have to do several things at once and pretty much "fail" in your point six.
And yes, most of my dear acquaintances are older than me wheras I was often "weird" alongside my age group.
And me too I'm an INFJ. Not the only one here 🙂

At what age do you stop becoming an “old soul” and are just seen as “old”? 🤔

    • @obelic71
      @obelic71 2 года назад +4

Depends on the place in the world/life you are and how your surrounding reacts.
      for example:
A teenager playing in kindergarten with other kids is seen as old to other teenagers.
A retired senior skydiving/scubadiving is seen as young to other seniors.
Old is just how you see yourself.

I feel kind of like an old soul, and I have definitely been called mature for my age, but at some point I put so much pressure on myself to make new friends and rejected a lot of parts of my personality to seem more social. I feel the things you say, but haven't been living up to them, as if my soul is damaged. It is a difficult path to heal but I'm on my way even if I lose direction sometimes. I hope everyone grows stronger from their difficulties so they won't have to face them again. Everyone is good enough for this world and there is always a way to keep going, even if you don't see it yet. There are plenty of people willing to help

I‘m glad that I found this video! Now Ik something about how I am/what u call it and that I am not alone with it.
A thing I always hated it and still do is that my friends from my class aren’t really willing to learn something and are really lazy. I‘m kinda lazy to, but when I have motivation for my school stuff it kinda pulls me down when they are talking smth like „I would never do that/ she (teacher) really things I’m gonna do that now?“
And stuff like that. It kinda pulls me down and since I’m sitting next to them and we can’t change the way we sit I can’t escape this.
I speak 3 Languages and am currently learning a 4 one (Spanish). I also try to teach me Japanese on my own but I don’t have much time for this, so it’ll be a project I can’t work on much, hopefully later.

I've been always interested in learning different and each things. I also find myself defining life and giving wisdom in everything I see or hear and such everyday, for example pencil... "Life goes sharp after, You wouldn't even notice you've written a story and drew a masterpiece until you reach the last tip of it." I know it's weird haha. I'd never touched a piano yet I was able to play it, I too feel like I'm out of space even with the people around my age and even though I'm not a doctor I sometimes diagnose people (lol) nor having knowledge in music, I end up being able to judge and interpret singers base on their performance. I always think about the bigger picture yet also the bright side and its other way around: distinguishing advantages and disadvantages in every scenario as possible, I always act like a mom with people regardless of their age.
Always remember that life isn't defined by how old you had lived, but how you treasure every second of it.

It sounds like the video was aiming to keep things upbeat, but I feel it did a disservice to people who were forced to grow up due to hardship or trauma, especially while they were kids. This happened to me during my adolescence. Teachers and other adults in my life would often compliment me on my maturity, but they didn't know that I'd come to be that way because it was a coping and survival mechanism.

Lmaooo 😂🤣, this channel from the small amount of content I tried to catch is hilariously dramatic. So according to this video (the half I was able to finish after laughing at how ridiculous this channel is indeed), an "0ld Soul" is described here as a an actual stable and grounded person , relatively young that is actually intelligent (or at the least smart enough) to think and act their age, which can be viewed as one being "mature" for their specific age (or generation a.t.p ) and is wise enough to realize the actual 'real " (non-material) things that truly matter in life and appreciate these and recognize the value in the actual important things/people (such as close family and friends). So basically kept explaining in "different ways" or naming "specific scenarios" of young/youthi person that actually has a good and decent head on their shoulders and is mature and responsible enough to know what really matters, and knows how to carry themselves in life ,as one should 🥴. Great job . 🤯🤣😂. According to their definition along with the matching actions and characteristics explained ( along with cartoons 😂 to even more simply portray that ANY good ,decent, moral , mature on the right track young adult = "AN OLD SOUL". 🙄🥴🤣. GEE DO I WISH THIS GENERATION WERE ALL "OLD SOULS" according to their definition breakdown . Just think how much more delightful and how much the world would be such a better and enjoyable place in every aspect!!!! Please young people BECOME "0LD SOULS" !! ,DO IT FOR YOUR THE BENEFIT OF YOUR OWN SELFS AND FOR HUMANITY!!! 🙏
