Bobby and Bill should be awarded an honorary Grammy. They deserve it for extraordinary achievement. And yes, all of us ladies were crazy for them. I still am!
Check out when Bill did Brown Eyed Woman solo at the Playboy Mansion. Incredible! The backup group was The Blossoms with Darlene Love. One of my all time favorite singers. Take my advice especially now I'm a music historian.
George Michael! Especially his covers of Stevie Wonder songs! Duets with Aretha Franklin, Mary J Blige, Whitney Houston, Jodi Watley, Steve Wonder himself, Smokey Robinson...RIP George
@@OriginalPuro you might find this hard to believe but back in the day soul music was considered a black cultural thing. This was back when I was a kid growing up and yeah I remember it being like that. Sometimes soul was a slang term for people of color. Like a soul brother period that was a very common term back in the '60s. so some of these feelings have carried forward and are hidden today as the verbiage is different. It would be nice if people stopped defining things by race or religion or whatever. Just realize once we're in the ground we pretty much all look alike just some are taller some are shorter some are male some are female.
Talent just pure talent. No singers today can even come close. This is when you had to be able to sing. Not use auto tune and do a bunch of takes till you could get it right. These guys did it the right way.

I am a child of the 50s and 60s. This is the music I grew up with. ELVIS. BEATLES. Etc WHAT a Time to be a teenager. We were living History, but at the time we did not know it. It is hard for me to comprehend. That there are people out there who have never heard these Fabulous musicians. God Bless.

I've heard them in concert... I can remember every word to all these songs. I just love watching younger people discover the music my generation grew up with.
I loved the Righteous Brother's as an early teen. I never cared for the words but I liked the song. Others during that time were Ronnie Dove, Gene Pitney, Billy Joe Royal and we can never forget the Drifters (one of my favorite groups) Same Cooke, Otis Redding and so many others during those years. Otis Redding is at the top of my list as an exceptional singer and had a God given talent that, in my opinion is unmatched even today.
I love seeing younger people giving these old songs a chance! There is sooo much good music out there and more people need to hear it Thank you for sharing it with them. This song gets right deep in your soul. You can feel it. Love it!
I was born in the 40's, rocked through the 50's and have enjoyed all music from Big Band, Rock n Roll, Metal, Disco, Rap and everything in between. Never cull any music. It's all good! Yeah, I'm old, 76, but I'm forever young when it comes to music. Enjoy your reactions.
Jamal, I so enjoy watching your reactions to these classics. I am 67 yo and we grew up with these classics on the radio every time we turned it on. Can you imagine that. It was nothing to us to hear these, one after another. To us, after growing up with all these classics(we did not call them that but we knew what we were hearing sounded so great and we loved everything that you're loving about them now)can you understand us now when we say thank God we grew up in the music era that we did and when we bristle a little when we say the 80-'s(85-89), 90's and 00's music can't hold a candle to our era(with just a few exceptions). Keep on what your doing. You are my "Soul and Inspiration" now.
Thank you for giving props to the music of my youth! I graduated from HS in 1965 and the Righteous Brothers and many other groups of that time need to be re-introduced to today's youth! It was a time of real voices, talent and music from the heart!
When I was in my 20's, (back when dinosaurs ruled the earth) the Righteous Brothers used to play a gig every summer at an old converted sand-pit that was called Sandy Lake. It had a big raft in the middle where you could lay back and listen to the sounds drifting over the water. 🤗 They were an extension of the R&B and soul music of the times. Great groups like "Little Anthony and the Imperials", "Martha and the Vandellas" and the "O"Jays" were all popular with the "hippies" of the 60's and early 70's and we were open to discovering all types of music. (The Beatles played many R&B songs in their early years like "You Really Got a Hold on Me" and "Mr. Postman" which helped open our musical eyes to the sound of soul and they were the light that led many of us into our own musical adventures. One of the reasons they set the bar so high was their intense interest in self-discovering and utilizing music from all over the world.)
They were so good that some overlook others that we listened to like Roberta Flack (esp The first time ever I saw your face), and Jackie Wilson and brook Benton (A rainy night in Georgoa), the great Sarah Vaughn and Ella Fitzgerald . . . So so many and sòoo darn fantastic❤
I love watching your videos and was so surprised seeing you watch this one in particular. Soul and Inspiration was my mom and dad's song. No matter where they were, when they heard this song on the radio, they would make their way to each other for a kiss and an I love you. Sadly, I lost both my parents a day apart 8 years ago when they were 62. 5 years ago I was able to meet Bill Medley (Mr low voice) and he remembered my parents from all their trips out to the Righteous Bros theater in Orange County. Bill stood up and gave me a hug and said his condolences. A true gem of a person through and through. Thank you for sharing your video. I believe it was no coincidence I happened upon it the day before fathers day. Bless you.
When my parents asked me what I wanted for my 12th birthday, I said that I wanted to go see the Righteous Brothers. And I did! 1966. They were amazing! Brazil 66 opened for them. I've gone to many, many concerts since then, but they were the best ever and always will be for me.
Many people don't realize that Bill Medley (the guy with the deep) voice sings along with Jennifer Warnes on the song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life".......a classic song that you will often hear played at weddings. But if you haven't heard the song in a while, check it out. His voice is unmistakable.
Rowena I would love to go back to the 60s permanently. The present sucks big time not many good people around anymore they're all haters and greedy and selfish
Two of the things that helped contribute to the Righteous Brothers' popularity were (a.) Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" production, and (b.) the fact that they chose some great material to do. "Soul and Inspiration," "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and "Just Once In My Life" were all written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, another white songwriting team. You might wanna look 'em up and see the awesome library of hits they wrote.
Thank you for your videos. You have made me happy every day with your lovely words and your kind smile. You have an ardent fan on the Canadian prairies. And the music is great, too. Many best wishes and stay safe.
Some years ago the Righteous Brothers "You Lost That Loving Feeling" was deemed the most played song ever (> 15 BIL) beating out the Beatles "Yesterday".
When I was a kid..my older sister had to take me with her to the concerts of all these greats of the 60's...started my love of music..but when they sang it was like u were in another world!!! i went on to see MANY of the great bands of the 70's and 80' s..but i always remembered them being the greatest!!!!
So much great music came out of the 1950s 1960s 1970s and 1980s that I swear those four decades could fill up a century with music and people would be just absolutely beside themselves with the amount of great music for a whole century. I mean there were literally thousands of great musicians and groups and tens of thousands of great songs during those four decades so glad I was alive and most of them all except the early fifties. This is the gift we leave to you guys the more people that catch on to it and see how good it is and keep listening to it and enjoying it it could be like you say keeping great music alive and it doesn't matter what Eric comes in there's even some music in the '90s and the 2000 2020 that I like not as much as those four decades but their songs here and there that I really like..
I saw them one time…they were the opening act for Kenny Rogers…BJ Thomas (check him out also!) was also an opening act! What an awesome concert that was!!!!! 🎶🎶 Love your reaction to the songs I listened to when I was a teenager in the 60’s!!! 😊
I'm 72 and also had a sister 6 years older than me and a mother that was a big band singer during the War. Music was always present in the house and these guy's were at the top of our popularity list and when it comes to Any male/ male Deo the Righteous Brothers are IMO, the GOAT hands down!
Their words are prophetic. As a man of 57 I grew up listening and loving the Righteous Brothers. As a young kid sneaking a look around the corner watching my mom and daddy dancing in the living room. As a grown man this song meant the world to my wife and I, we’d dance in the kitchen to it as our babies watched and giggled. I lost her June 22 2017... and they’re right ... She was my soul and my hearts inspiration. Now I have these memories and this beautiful song to fall back on. I’m so glad that younger folks are digging the Brothers Righteous. 🙏
I just happened upon this video a few days ago. I couldn't believe you hadn't heard of the Righteous Brothers before this. I just loved your reaction to them. Well on this one, it was just Bobby Hatfield (if I remember his name correctly). My husband and I were blessed to see them in Las Vegas prior to Bobby's death a short time after this concert. It was thrilling to hear them live. Talk about chills. As I have time I would love to see more of your videos. I wish I could read all the comments but I am a busy lady.
OMG Of all the reactions I’ve watched Yours - YOURS is hands down the absolute best of them all !! ( and your moves were/are spot on for that era of music - No shade meant ! lol ) I’m 71 yrs old so I grew up listening to them and I love them as much now as I did when I was just in my teens They are true classics always waves from Anchorage Alaska ✨💫✨💫🙌🙌😉😉💫✨💫✨
Blue eyed soul at it's best. Losing Bobby at such a young age SUCKED! EXTRAORDINARY TALENT. TIMELESS
😪
One of the greatest songs of all time.
I’m telling you this is a song to melt any woman’s heart.
Bobby and Bill should be awarded an honorary Grammy. They deserve it for extraordinary achievement. And yes, all of us ladies were crazy for them. I still am!
A hundred years from now this song will still be a classic
Well, we're half way there now.
Yr definitely, unequivocally correct. It's a masterpiece.Check out Bills. Brown Eyed Woman at the Playboy Mansion. It's awesome

@@ZEZERBING thanks! that made me laugh.
As long as the people can hear the music and understand the words it will still be a classic!
Bill Medley, Bobby Hatfield: our ears have been blessed that these two voices found each other.
When someone says white guys don’t have soul I’m like, “either you deaf or you never heard the Righteous Brothers”.

a black man in the audience after hearing them yelled, "You brothers are righteous!"

This was not a Phil Spector production. Bill Medley and Jack Nitzsche imitated the Spector sound.
This has the passion, heart, soul of what music should perioded.
Thank you for your videos. You have made me happy every day with your lovely words and your kind smile. You have an ardent fan on the Canadian prairies. And the music is great, too. Many best wishes and stay safe.

Jamel, when I am having a shitty day, I just watch one of your videos and it turns my mood around! Love it! Keep having fun and making people happy!
When I was young this song was the most played song in history amazing brothers
Some years ago the Righteous Brothers "You Lost That Loving Feeling" was deemed the most played song ever (> 15 BIL) beating out the Beatles "Yesterday".
For real these guys are right up there with Barry White & All Green with panty dropping music.
That deep voice gets to me every time. Evokes memories of my dad who always sang the base part.
I saw them one time…they were the opening act for Kenny Rogers…BJ Thomas (check him out also!) was also an opening act! What an awesome concert that was!!!!! 🎶🎶
Love your reaction to the songs I listened to when I was a teenager in the 60’s!!! 😊
This will always be a classic. Beautiful voices.
I'm 72 and also had a sister 6 years older than me and a mother that was a big band singer during the War. Music was always present in the house and these guy's were at the top of our popularity list and when it comes to Any male/ male Deo the Righteous Brothers are IMO, the GOAT hands down!
One of the best singing duets of that time and even now. Can't think of a modern duo that leaves such a soulful impression as these guys. /
Thank you so much for bringing back classics like this.
Jamel!! You are the best reaction man hands down. Love your positive energy brother
Omg! What amazing voice's they had! Wow! Wow!
Yet again , a superb appreciation and reaction toGreat music from the past ... just watching the appreciation you show , is uplifting Jamel
Thank you God for letting me grow up with this music.
This song still gets me after fifty years!! A classic!!
My favorite singers from that generation, and there many great ones. Enjoyed your reaction.
OMG
Of all the reactions I’ve watched
Yours - YOURS is hands down the absolute best of them all !! ( and your moves were/are spot on for that era of music - No shade meant ! lol )
