I am almost 70 and grew up on these guys ! I am just happy you rediscovered them. Good music never dies! God Bless
More like i Discovered them
Sometimes, people come together, at just the right time, and make magic. These guys, absolutely.
Black or white... good is good!
Very true, Soul comes from within, not from the skin!
@Billy Nolan
Here you go!

@@Aurelius556 that was soul?........
@@user-yd3kn5wx2y yes all lives matter.
You are right. We all thought they were black back in the sixties until we saw them on TV. Love them!
I’m an old white lady and was very happy back then to find out they were white. It made me think “well, at least some of us have soul”! Ha ha
Jeanne Jorgensen
Apparently they got the name because they started in black clubs and everyone said the were way too righteous to be white
@@jessrutherford2213 My brother played bass with a 3 piece band in black clubs. It was 1967 & he was 16 yrs old. Very accepted by them.
Yes! someone else who is not afraid to say it.
"Two white dudes!"
I'm sorry, but that goes down as one of the most adorable reactions ever! 🤣
Yup , too cute for words .
Adorable? Like if I said two BLACK guys? How "adorable"???
we knew it was coming. God bless.
@@northcountryhermit5057 It's not about the race. Its the look on his face and the surprise that what sounds like the voice of a black man is actually not.
@@northcountryhermit5057 really ?Just really ?
Righteous Brothers.....................chills every time................
Give me chills too
Chills and tears,powerfull!!!!
My favorite
talent is talent....no matter what era or race....I don't care if you are that good it's gonna last through the generations
I AGREE. Clemson fan since 65.. 😁
Gray Beard yea I love watching all those great old singers! I was born in 1962, so I’ve seen a few. Bama fan since 1970...... that’s 9 National Championships I’ve cheered on since 1973!😄
bamafan62
And they were definitely THAT GOOD!
Righteous brothers have always been two of the most soulful cats around. Bill Medely is a grown ass man!
Joe Bauers yep
I can't imagine ANYONE normal actually criticizing an honest man giving his honest opinion. Keep it up, sir.
Thank you for not doing what others do with their reaction videos, feeling the need to pause it every one or two lines to analyze and critique every word. It ruins the whole song. Keep up the great work
+cjgeel1 YES,YES,YES! I couldn´t have said it any better, so true!
They have to do that. It's a copyright thing. RUclips algorithms look for copyright violations and de-monetize the video. At extremes they will pull the video. It's happened to MRM on several occasions and I would guess, he doesn't make much off ads from RUclips because he probably gets struck with copyright often. So, give other reaction channels a break and understand their predicament and reasons.
@@affluentimaginings Thanks for the information, this makes me reconsider my last comment.
Yeah and now there’s no audio because it was copyrighted. You have to pause and discuss to pass copyright laws
I'm with you on that its so annoying
Blue- eyed soul to the bone brother.
I love you brother. You are colorblind when it comes to talent. We (all humans) have more in common that we have differences.
The Righteous Brothers are one of my earliest music memories. Love their harmonies!
Bill Medley. Damn!! Those pipes!!
Mine also...I was born in 62 so I grew up listening to this music.
If anyone out there has a 1966 GTO with a reverb 8 track stereo, please put a Righteous Bros tape in and Drive down Main Street for me sometime around 10 Pm any night...I'll be there with you!
Try Dusty Springfield. 'Son of a Preacher Man' & 'You Dont Have to Say You Love Me'.
I was thinking the same thing about Dusty Springfield's "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me". "Stay Awhile: is another one. *I'm not sure why he doesn't watch some Tom Jones stuff.* He'd be especially amazed at this one: ruclips.net/video/5vMx63ZCd88/видео.html
This one is pretty special. In the previous video Tom is 27 years old. 2 weeks ago on The Voice in the UK, the songwriter's (Lonnie Donegan) son was a contestant and he sang a duet with a 78 year old Tom Jones on the song his father wrote. Watch Jennifer Hudson's reaction: ruclips.net/video/bS5z-Nr3QhQ/видео.html
Yes do Dusty Springfield - "Son of a Preacher Man" and pretty much any song by Dusty Springfield
@@shave-a-thon3415 Yes you don't have to say you love me . YOUNG GIRL the stylistics...my first broken heart song.
Idk if you knew that the tall guy with the deep voice, Bill Medley is who sang "Time of my life" from Dirty Dancing... Another great song.
Got to see them in concert once. They are my all time favorites. Thank you for sharing this video.
Really excited to see you do a reaction to this song, it's one of my favorites. I just want to say that your positivity and strength are amazing. I love watching your videos no matter what mood I'm in I will always be smiling when you are done reacting to a song. God bless you and continue to be happy and healthy.
Righteous Brothers, both equally talented. Soulful singers.
That's your appeal, Ty. Your honesty and straightforwardness. We all are what we are. Let's acknowledge it! Celebrate it! It's a good thing!!!
Just found your channel. Listen to several songs and enjoyed what you had to say. You definitely know good music when you hear it. You are so right race does not matter. Good music is good music.
I'm so glad you're doing this one! Excellent song
It is their best.
And the Lord stirred the winds of song and the finest was made.....Solid Gold!!!!
Righteous Brothers ROCK N' ROLL HEAVEN
Oh yeah. A must
Absolutely 👍Esteban B.
Excellent taste
I was in 4th grade...EVERYONE listened to a.m. radio. EVERYONE. Songs were about 3 minutes long. All songs. Watching this now, the quality, feeling in their music, and great songwriting is apparent.
Also love watching your cute face! Granny wants to pinch your cheeks.😍😍😍
I grew up listening to the music of this time, weekends hunting with my dad and uncle, great memories, funny how I still know the words by heart. Love it 👍
Just watched 3 of your RB videos and lifted my little spirits, my dear, thank you. Bobby died, but Bill is still performing what another person for oldie tours.
I came up on Motown (being from Detroit) and we had plenty of blue-eyed soul. And, of course, they sounded black, their heroes were black. Brian Jones wanted to be a old black American blues singer.
Love that song!!
You need to do more of that genre.
Great reaction!
What a phenomenal performance I could see it in your face buddy you know when I heard this I get the chills pal I love you playing the oldies I know oldies like the backs of my hands skin color don't matter does it buddy when you're good you're good no doubt
Someone may have already told you, but “You’ve lost that loving feeling” is the most played song of the 20th century.
I’m new to this channel loved it and just subscribed . I listened to the Righteous Bros. growing up in the 60s and it never gets old when I hear them. Thankyou Ty.
MRM, I love your honesty!!! I'm white and love watching you videos.
I miss Buddy. He was my cat for many years. We would listen to this song over and over again. I love him very much.
The most played song of Righteous Brothers was ' You've Lost That Loving Feeling....
the song Unchained Melody is the most played video, not sure which was played more on the radio.
Those vocals is what makes them Righteous. Gotta love 'em!
Renaissance Man since you first played them with a song called you Lost That Loving Feeling I've been asking you to play this thanks a lot my friend you're the man
3q🇦🇩🇦🇲
When they first came out on the AM Radio, many people thought they were black ! The fact is was they grew-up on many Black artists and created their own style that came across this way. They are iconic to me with perfect deep and high harmonies !! I love the Righteous Brothers since the 60s !!
Tall guy... Bill Medley... "Time of my Life".... from Dirty Dancing!
Great song, great singing, I’m 37, and i love music from this era
"You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" was the song you meant when you kept mentioning "Unchained Melody".
That's only two voices! All that sound from just two people! Amazing! One of my all time favorite duos!
Love your facial expressions and smile when you start to get into it
It's been awhile. I'm trying to remember without double checking. I used to watch them on a show called Shin Dig. I loved them. The one with the high voice is dead now. I saw them live. It was a special show in Seattle that had many different acts. The guy with the low voice, if I remember correctly, was sick and had a fever. Still sounded great. I was in my teens. I'm 71 now.
I loved Shindig when I was young!
Modern Renaissance man ! Your Christ centered!! Thanks for your videos from Ireland:)
My hair stands up when they hit the chorus: "You're my soul and ...". So beautiful.
Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. Bill is the taller one. I'm pretty sure he recorded some on his own. Don't think Bobby did.Bobby died in 2003. Bill is still living as far as I know.
Your right Bill did. I love his tribute song to Elvis.
Bill also did the theme from Dirty Dancing The Time of My Life.
I'll tell you anyone who had a television I think this was 1965 there was at least three shows on that had every artist that made hits maybe out in the sticks they didn't know the Righteous Brothers were white but down here in the Big Apple we all knew but they sounded so good nobody really cared the school I went to the black kids love this song and the Righteous Brothers I remember 11 year old Stevie Wonder about 1960 something don't know the year had a big hit fingertips part 2 went right to the top he was a virtuoso before he was 10 back then it sounded good nobody said that's a white man because back then they played every type of music on one station R&B rock and roll Soul country it was all on one station w i n s. w a b c. and if you wanted the good black music wwrl the station was right up in Harlem used to listen to it every night. We were kids we just liked what sounded good before we got schooled on racism by adults talkin about the hate and that rubbed off on the kids there went the full game never listen to them even the black kid stole my bicycle I hated him I didn't hate the whole people but I got a new bike and forgot about the other one it was special bike I had a little radio on it and I remember my favorite song watch Mickey's Monkey by Smokey Robinson and a country song called I want to go home Detroit City the first gospel song to crossover and become a number one hit on all stations was the Edwin Hawkins singers when Jesus walked 1969 lot of white people got mad saying gospel don't belong on that station but there was a song called Ode to Billy Joe that sure sounded like a country black Sewell because in some parts of the South the white and black people talk exactly the same this song also crossed over do all stations and hit number one too now music is too damn political and to PC and another song Black Pearl the and the five stairsteps oh child things are going to get easier played right after one another with country rock soul now they separate all types of music which I don't like I liked when you heard it all on one station sorry I'm babbling on but I'm laying in bed sick I got nothing else to do good night folks
brown eyed woman hung on you peace brother peace

@@thomasrose38 That school you went to, did they teach you punctuation ?
That is the the longest sentence I have ever seen.
the opening just gets me every darn time! at the very beginning, the little "tinkle tinkle" music almost "happy light sounding" and then BAM!.. melancholy haunting beautiful atmospheric background with the opening line of "girl, i can't let you do this, let you walk away"! .... hypnotic incredible beautiful great!...
The best first note ever, when Bill Medley starts with "girl" I get chills.
I'm SO happy and Blessed that I happened across your channel!! Your reactions help me to hear these songs for the first time Again! God Bless You for dragging me back down memory lane!😍
This, young people today, is TRUE talent!! No autotune!😄
I started playing guitar when I was 8 I heard a group called Booker T and the MGs I started learning there style Only years later did I find out that the Guitar player Steve Cropper was white and they did all the music for Otis Percy Sledge Wilson Pickett Eddie Floyd and all When I was 17 I auditioned for a R&B group 9 piece band all black guys Their guitarist was deported for over staying his visa I got the gig So I was the only White guy in a 9 piece band It was quite funny when I look back It didn't take long before they forgot I was White We toured the Pacific Northwest and I met many artists who became very well known The Righteous Brothers were one of them them They played the black clubs from LA to Seatle They got their name from the audience who said the way they sang was Righteous and accepted them as Brothers If you love R&B then you develop the style They said I played Like a black dude I considered that a compliment So there is nothing wrong with saying they sound black Bill and Bobby would consider that as a compliment too
What wonderful memories you have all those threads that make up the fabric of your life all those pieces of the quilts that0 go together to cover your life wonderful
Such a rare talent, we've yet to produce another talent like these men, in 70 years
Oh boy I love their voices, specially Bill's - the deeper one. I'd love to see your reaction to Dusty Springfield's Son of a Preacher Man.
He has to review that song
You KNEW you were gonna LOVE it. Seriously...how could you NOT?
Bobby Hatfield recorded 'Unchained Medley' as a solo, and Bill Medley recorded with other people after Bobby died.
When the Righteous Brothers first became famous back in 1964/65 I was stationed in Virginia. There was an all-black radio station that played their music --- thinking that they were black. Heck, when I first heard them back then I thought they were black, too. :>) May the Good Lord bless you, pal. You do a darn good job with your videos. Karl
My father loved the Righteous Brothers, Saw them many times throughout the years.
You need to do Bill Medely from the Rightgeous Brothers and Jennifer Warrens The time of My life.
I 2nd that request. It's from the Dirty Dancing movie and soundtrack.
I was listening to that last night...love it! I bet he has heard it.
I agree also react to Patrick Swayze - She's like the wind
Yes please!!
They did separate for a while and came back together. They seemed to have a great relationship.
I love your reactions on allthat oldies stuff which touched my childhood ...back than it was already old, but it inspired me so deep ... I do love those guys so much
Bill Medley is the tall one. He wrote I've Had the Time of My Life in the laat scene of Dirty Dancing. Please put that on your list.
I didn't no that thanks for the info that's cool
Great song! Never get tired of hearing this song!
Listen to an oldie by Bob Kuban and the Inmen called "The Cheater ". About 1960 or close . Thank you for sharing these old great songs brother . Jesus bless you
Bobbys Sprechgesang...da fühlt sich jede Frau angesprochen.😊😊😊😊
The duo split up in February 1968, a breakup that would last for more than six years, when Medley (the tall guy) left to pursue a solo career. According to Medley, he was performing three shows a night in Las Vegas, but finding it too much of a strain on his voice singing solo, and under advice he sought out Hatfield to reform The Righteous Brothers; Hatfield at this point was broke and living alone in a small apartment. In 1974, Medley and Hatfield announced their reunion at an appearance on The Sonny and Cher Show. Bobby Hatfieldwas found dead in his hotel room in Kalamazoo Michigan, on November 5, 2003, shortly before he was due to perform at a concert with Bill Medley at Western Michigan University. The autopsy report attributed his death to heart failure brought on by cocaine. Bill Medley continued to perform as a solo artist for some time after Hatfield's death, occasionally singing with a screen projection of old film footage of Hatfield.
I love how your voice gets higher and louder in reactions to songs that really move you! My voice won't change cause I always get a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. Thanks for supporting and appreciating the MUSIC!
I have a suggestion for you. I think you would like it. It’s called Summertime a solo sung by Bobby Hatfield. If you like jazz, you’re going to love it! I realize that you got most of these reply’s about 3 years ago, so I hope I’m not to late with my reply. Enjoy life!! ❤️ ❤️
Those Brothers are Righteous
There is another group you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at them that sang this song: Bottle Of Wine. By the Fireballs. Everyone thought they were bums for a couple of years until they seen that these are middle-class businessmen. It was a very popular number one song always played on the radio. It brings back a lot of memories.
Gives me chills every time I hear this song
The vocal contrast is what made them so incredible...🎶💜
I just found you 4 videos ago. Lol I'm binge watching your videos. I just want to say, How can anyone NOT like what you're about? If they don't, they have a major character flaw.
Back then, if it wasn't British Invasion bands, I wasn't interested. I thought I didn't like The Righteous Brothers. Now, over 50 years later, I'm "discovering" them thanks to your videos. They ARE 2 fantastic white dudes!
An oldie but goodie.
They were one of my favorite groups. So much soul and power in their voices.
Did you ever do Dobie Gray, “Drift Away”? Or Whiter Shade of Pale! Both are a few years after this but you can hear its influence.
Oh, yes please, A Whiter Shade of Pale. Excellent choice.
Procol Harum did Whiter Shade. Great song.
My favorite Dobie dong was "Loving Arms", then "Drift Away" second, then his '65 hit "The In Crowd" third.
Dobie Gray, 'Out on the floor', has to be one of the best tunes EVER for getting your feet tapping!!
Many of us sing, so we think, not so many with real 'soul' and when we hear it, we embed it with a whole package of feelings, including putting faces to what we hear....and there's the shock. Actually there's a great recording of two black blokes, dreads n'all, covering the Beatles going round at the moment and if your not looking.....I'm from the 60's and still love the old songs...but as a suggestion, I'd recommend Rick Astley, never gonna give you up...late 80's...but if your not looking...
great reaction shows can only happen when the person is genuine...great show my friend.🎶🇬🇧🎶....
From a little, middle aged, white bloke😂
You have to do Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the Godmother of rock and roll. This train or some of her gigs in England.
Man I have grown up with these guys . have seen the in concerts ,and have their albums. When i listen to them I don't hear color just great music. TRULY RIGHTEOUS . Challon
THANKYOU Just offering my opinion on great music and entertainer's
Remember Dirty Dancing 💃 "I Had The Time of My Life" sole by Medley ... distinctive Voice.
Apart they're good ... but together ... EPIC. Together they caught the hearts of a generation. Back in the middle 1960s when their songs played on the radio ... everybody listened. Why? ... because ALL HEARTS pump the same color blood.
Fun fact. The keyboardist and saxophonist from the Righteous Brothers is Will Ferrells dad.
Edit: I know I originally said drummer. My bad...point is he was in the band.
Hello! My family is from Panama City, too!! We know of Central Pentecostal on 77 and went to church with McFatter's father at t he House of Prayer years ago. We are nw in Dothan since the hurricane demolished our house. Love your reactions! Keep up the good work! Mrs. Brown
Wow! Small world. I was w/ Mcfatter his wife and aaron them when they got their own church further up 77 at sunny hills or whatever. I must not know you because you would've recognized me.
You're the best Modern Renaissance Man
.
I grew up on the music of the 1960s, black and white. This is my favorite by the RBs. Goosebumps after all these years. Love that you love this. Also I love how it reminds me, as a white person, of how much we owe the black community for the music.
You should play Old Friend a tribute to Elvis Presley by Bill Medley. Great song.
Please do Ronnie McDowell The King Is Gone. He wrote the song the day Elvis died. Recorded it the next day. It hit the stores and sold over a million records. Ronnie McDowell voice is used in many Elvis movies. He's a really great guy. He has some really great songs that I think you would like. He sang with Conway Twitty for 7 or 8 years.
great tune you have good taste
I’ve met him. Nice guy. I do wish when he tried to get me to sing with him I hadn’t been so shy and done it. (Ronnie Mc Dowell)
@@cassandrawhite1594 you should have sang with him. Maybe another time. He's a really fun guy. Met him last year. I had the most fun. Even got a kiss on the hand. That was a surprise. He will be in Mississippi next weekend. Got my VIP seats and I'm ready for a fun time. I get to see Mrs. Louise Smith Elvis's first cousin Gene Smith's wife. Really sweet lady. Actually I will be sitting with her. There will be two other entertainers that impersonate other people. Of course Elvis is one of them. I'm ready for some fun.
You are a breath of fresh air brother!! You do great videos. This is from a 60 yr old white dude.
Honesty...thats what I love about you dude...
Loving watching your surprising reactions.
You mention Panama City often. Please pray for our recovery from Hurricane Michael .
Thank you for this video and your great reaction! Somehow since I last heard this, I have gotten so old it done went and made me bawl...
There is another great song by The Righteous Brothers: "Just Once In My Life", that you should do.
Thank you so much for this one. I had forgotten how much I loved this song.
You need to review "The Time Of My Life"-the theme to Dirty Dancing by Bill Medley ( the tall guy from the Righteous Brothers) and Jennifer Warnes.
I was around back then when this song was new they were a big deal and popular with black folks believe me, GREAT singers.
Would love to see you do "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones
He Stopped Loving Her Today Was a great great song
I know I've said this before but Bobby Hatfield overdosed in a hotel room in Long Beach California maybe 10 years ago. Medley lives in Southern California he lost his wife I believe with a home invasion robbery and he stayed home to raise his children human Bobby Hatfield opened up a bar in Riverside California I don't think it's still there though
Beautiful and painful song
Mmmmm....this was our dating music back when........we just celebrated 50 lovely years together :) Thanks so much for these......Much Love to you and Yours
That's awesome sis
I would love for you to react to Rag N Bone Man 'Human' and 'Skin'. I think you'll thoroughly enjoy!
I love how authentic you are. And while I am a white person myself, I am very skeptical of anyone who claims "I don't hear race!" because there are songs, styles of music, and vocalizations that are distinctly tied to the experience of African Americans in particular... and soul music and R&B are certainly part of that. It also denies the very real problem of cultural appropriation and, particularly during the earlier eras of rock music, white musicians getting credit and fame for imitating or performing the work of black musicians who may have never received their due for their original music.
In the broader view, I also have real problems with people who deny "seeing" race, too, because it's a convenient way to pretend that things like systemic racism exist only for other people, meaning that you don't have to react or respond to racism or take responsibility for making things better. That said, I do love the blue-eyed soul reviews and hope many more are forthcoming! Thanks for your positivity and the fun you provide to your subscribers.
Yeah, but what makes you think anyone is interested in what you have problems with?
Check out The Doobie Brothers : Jesus is just alright...
Heart is heart regardless of color. These guys could bring heart. Another good one from the Righteous Brothers. Thanks for the reaction on this song. Great harmony group is of course the Beach Boys. Don't Worry Baby worth a listen.
you need to do James Brown at the TAMI show ...trust me
Good call -- best live performance I ever saw.
Ty...Before my wife and I got married, our first date was at Six Flags Over Texas, in August of 1974. The Righteous Brothers performed there, at what they used to call The Music Mill. This was after a comeback they made with a song called "Rock n Roll Heaven". Years later, after having two kids, we saw them again, at Will Rogers Coliseum, in Ft. Worth. Since that time, Bobby Hatfield, the awesome tenor, passed away. Might I suggest another Righteous Brothers tune...Justine. This one's a rocker. GOD bless, in JESUS Name.
Can you react to Nickelback Never Gonna Be Alone
Reminds me of Solid Gold Saturday Night cruising around with my dearly departed Dad. Thank you.
