After 2 years of pain and no help I found these guys. The doctors wanted to operate and I said no.followed the stretching They showed me 😊and I am pain free.
Hello. I know there are some people out there desperately watching these videos, hoping for relief that never seems to come. Stick with it guys. Do the exercises, do the decompression, it works. It takes longer than you want it to, but it does work. I dealt with debilitating sciatic pain for over two years. At first I didn't know what it was and it got quite bad before I found old Bob and Brad here. I understand how miserable it is, but don't give up! You can do this! You will recover!
This year I have been using a massage roller on my sciatic nerve . Lightly rolling from top to bottom 10 to 20 times . Amazingly reduced payment and increased my ability to move .
Perfect timing I’m actually going through this right now… talk about painful!! Thank you for a great video with important information! Will definitely try these before I start physical therapy next week. Happy new year Bob and Brad
Thank you. I applied your recommended techniques every hour every day. The traction and press ups and after months of sciatica pain. The pain went away! Consistency really made a difference.
Great position advice @Bob and Brad. One position that I do for my sciatic pain is position myself on my elbows and my knees face down with forehead resting on a pillow. Then make small gyrations with hips. This really helps me. Another tip for decompression is if you have a set of crutches stand with them and apply traction that way if your arms are strong enough.
@@francocinelli7369 After watching this and two others on Sciatica, I have a bad feeling that is only a secondary problem. It is higher on the hip home and seems to be homing from one of those vertebra joints. The exercises help some, but I’ve lost a lot of strength in my right leg, even without pain. Have the terrible feeling I’m going to have to spend money on the Physical Therapists who have given me less help than Bob and Brad on a face to face basis. The back extensions have helped tremendously. I have had lower back pain and tingling sensation down my left leg to knee for a number of years. A couple of months ago it really flared up. I just got over a bad case of sciatica and tried all these things, but none brought relief. In my case though, I was fine as long as I was up and around, it was only when I tried to sleep that I was in agony. After about the ninth night of little sleep, I realized that my pain always diminished every morning within minutes of having my first cup of coffee, so on the 10th night at about 1:00am, I brewed a cup and the pain subsided within 10 minutes and I was able to sleep. For the next two weeks, I substituted half a NoDoze right before bed and I slept without pain until the sciatica finally subsided. FYI, I am insensitive to caffeine, so I can drink coffee or have a NoDoze and fall right to sleep.
if my sciatica act up, i noticed that I'll be fine all day at home but when I head out and start walking, the pain starts and can get quite bad. Usually, my only choice to relieve the pain is by squatting down fully n wait till the pain goes away. I might do it a few times, a few minutes at a time. It feels as if squatting stretches some muscles or something along the whole length from butt to calf. I used to have it on either side. Now it is just isolated to my right side. It went away for a good 6 months or more but recently, it came back again. Strangely, I've been taking long brisk walks to relief pains everywhere (mainly spine and pelvic) and slowly lose some weight.

How often should I do the sciatica exercises? daily? As much as possible, once a day?twice? I'm 43 and do daily warm-up stretches. I'm athletic and try hard to take care of myself. Other than worn out knees from 25yrs of volleyball, I feel good. BUT as I was quickly putting on my pants one morning, my lower back talked back. Initial swelling and pain subsided after 3-4 days but there's a nagging pain deep in my right hip that radiates through my leg. I have numbness in my toes and calf. My doctor says sciatica.
Lying down is easy. Can't sit with sciatica, annoys the heck out of the nerve in the hammy (which then becomes inflammed) And driving! Uuugh. Seat rubs the nerve in the calf. Goes into spasm. So I stand a lot and take the bus...
My pain has got worse in the calf in front/back - the glute pain is still there but not as bad as in the calf/shin areas now. I've tried about every exercise and can't get any relief all day/night

Greetings, we think the best back pain and sciatical pain hip exercise is at the stairs and you have to forget everything else related to hip pain. We should use one hand for support, left lateral part of the ankle is straight and pushes the wall laterally outwards elastic band like /if you remember Dodgens titanium ankles tutorial, he used to push walls for a rehab with his ankles. After 10-20 reps we should switch to the opposite side, use one hand for support, outer part of the right foot pushes the wall laterally. Approximately second stair gently supports the back part of the calcaneus while the ankle laterally pushes the wall outwards. If you remember how elastic bands/wall attached/ used to enormously reduce the plexus pain, it is a similar exercise, so if we make 3-4 sets and be a bit stubborn then any hip or back pain should disappear/no more crutches/. To be fair there is a pressure point but very soon pain disappears. We would hardly get off the chair before, now we can walk and even run without any pain. Of course if we do not feel the Pain anymore, we can get some supplements visit the gym, there are very good rehab exercises too, where a gym instructor should recommend a decent technique and range of motion. To be fair we got this pain from very heavy safety shoes /there are lighter ones with plastic toe caps /. If there is some pain, we think this exercise is the best pre warm up pain preventive exercise + some semi squats and lifts. We have invented this exercise, Thanks to our athletics and volleyball coach Женикъ Желязков and the plexus pain strenghtening technique he taught us. We thank God every day he shared his intelligent vision and knowledge with us. Have a Happy New Year, God Bless You !
Thank you for your great self-help ideas. I was scheduled for intensely serious back surgery last March and April, but chickened out. PT and you both have helped tremendously.
I don't have pain, BUT...both my legs will go numb instantaneously as if I just received an epidural...and if I don't sit or lay down within seconds, I drop to the floor. I curl up in a ball until the numbness goes away. Can this help me too?
I have a herniated L4 plus two bulging and a compressed disc. Currently awaiting discectomy surgery. Is there anything at all I can do to alleviate this excruciating pain? I won't last a month to get relief
I was painfully stuck in horizontal position for ten days...pooped on pads on the floor and struggled to urinate into empty hydration bottles... sciatica is a bit h ;) These exercises help daily pain, but do not prevent paralysis
@@NicolesBookishNook What a shame that you are ignorant of the facts. Dr. Gregory Johnson has been helping people with sciatica, ruptured disks, etc. for over 40 years WITHOUT a single complaint ever made against him. Sorry Nicole.......you don't know , what you don't know!
@@marykimberlyhayes I’ve gone to a chiropractor and it doesn’t do a thing at the best, worst it causes more damage. You should look into Dr. Raynor on RUclips who actually breaks all that down and how the ringdinger is actually dangerous. And a stupid name for such a dangerous thing to do to anyone.
@@NicolesBookishNook sorry Nicole, the name is just a catchy phrase, it's a Y-axis adjustment.....like that better. I don't care how many Dr's you have break life down. The Texas Board has investigated Dr. Johnson not from customer complaints because in 42 years there has NEVER BEEN A COMPLAINT.......only lots of whining from other chiropractors that have their head in the sand and are speaking out about something they don't understand. I have personally experienced 3 Y-axis adjustments and it's Fabulous! The point is to decompress the spine. Gravity is compressing us all everyday. Dr. Johnson trained a number of other chiropractors and there is one trained and has the appropriate table in Prior Lake, MN. It's the closest I can get as I live in Iowa. I'm ready to go back for more since I had it done in October of last year. All this work is based on Neural Plasticity and there are numerous scientific papers and this work pouring out of New Zealand. So, Nicole is you actually took the time to investigate & become knowledgable about the Y-axis adjustment, you'd know what you're talking about. Sadly you don't! It's a fabulous adjustment and people from all over the world fly to the USA just for this adjustment. Again......42 years and NEVER a patient complaint. Dr. Johnson does the most thorough history & exam on a patient before accepting them as a patient. Some people are turned away if there are any counter indications. But you would know that already IF you knew what you were talking about. Over & Out......

@@lisalee2885 did you get any better?
@@qsks8366 Hi. Yes I went to urgent care got ibuprofen and rested. Then did therapy twice a week. Back to work. I do stretches and am careful what I do.
guys can anyone help or advise, i’m pretty sure I have sciatica as it’s just in my right leg not my left, does anyone else has it where it affects there breathing as well? sometimes I swear I’m not breathing correctly & it makes me even more irritable & restless, so so frustrating
Here is our Sciatica program if you would like to check it out so that you can have a bunch of tools to use when one doesn't work: www.bobandbrad.com/health-programs/sciatica-relief-program
Stairs don't work well with people with serious knee issues, otherwise they may.
Thank you for your great self-help ideas. I was scheduled for intensely serious back surgery last March and April, but chickened out. PT and you both have helped tremendously.
Knees should be straight too
Oh I would love to see a video of this. It sounds promising but I can’t visualize it unfortunately
I don't have pain, BUT...both my legs will go numb instantaneously as if I just received an epidural...and if I don't sit or lay down within seconds, I drop to the floor. I curl up in a ball until the numbness goes away.
Can this help me too?

That sounds like an emergency... I’d suggest talking to a physician now or going to the emergency room if you can’t reach a physician.
I have a herniated L4 plus two bulging and a compressed disc. Currently awaiting discectomy surgery. Is there anything at all I can do to alleviate this excruciating pain? I won't last a month to get relief
Did you get any better ?
Wow that was fast...im the turtle...in his sleeping bag toasty.
you kidding I cannot get on my knees anymore. Happy New Year
I have a severe case where my foot is numb
I was painfully stuck in horizontal position for ten days...pooped on pads on the floor and struggled to urinate into empty hydration bottles... sciatica is a bit h ;)
These exercises help daily pain, but do not prevent paralysis
Hurt my back mid December 2022 and you still haven’t helped me 😢
I suffer for months and nothing seems to help. I watched 10 videos from you, all containing the same exercises.

Or you could get to Houston and go to Advanced Chiropractic Relief and get your whole spine compressed on the Ringdinger Table!
That’s a horrible idea.
